- Ricardo (8/5): Good - Breakfast was good! Hotel clean and OK! I expected much higher standards for the price paid compared to other hotels in the area. The price was almost double, and Marriott is unfortunately not a lot more that the other hotels.
- Darsh1110 (2/5): Terrible customer service for Gold member - Terrible customer service. I needed a conference room for an important meeting. I went to the hotel desk the night before to book a conference room. They never got back to me and when I called they said, come in and it will be no problem. But when I arrived, they didn’t have the room ready, charged me an outrageous price to use the room and didn’t seem to care at all. Front desk was understaffed. You can much better places for less money in Medellin.
- Gustavo (4/5): Deficiente servicio - Las habitaciones son muy comodas El arreglo de la habitación fue muy demorado todos los días del hospedaje, llegaba el medio día y no la arreglaban, la falta de personal en el restaurante principal era muy evidente, en los pasillos para llegar el cuarto la loza sucia y pasaban horas sin recogerla, el tema de centro de negocios con música muy fuerte no se podía trabajar, estuvimos en el área de la piscina no tenían el personal para atender a la personas, la respuesta que tiene por el teléfono es deficiente mucha demorar para las solicitudes solo podemos decir que estuvimos falta de personal tanto como en áreas comunes y los restaurantes y mas si tiene eventos se demoran mucho mas.
- G5591TCgregb (4/5): Mediocre Medellín Marriott - Just a mediocre hotel that isn’t really worthy of the Marriott brand. The hotel hallways are dark, towels are thin and scratchy, and the lobby is uninspired. Whatever you do, avoid eating here. The hotel food is ridiculously overpriced. Crepes and Waffles is a nine minute walk away and Alambique is an excellent restaurant at about a 15 minute walk. My wife is a titanium member and she would rate this hotel at about the 25th percentile for Marriott
- Maria (8/5): Mejorar el transporte de taxis afuera porque una sola empleada hace quedar mal a todo el servicio del Hotel. - Habitación confortable El servicio de taxis afuera me trató pésimo! También se pusieron propinas los saloneros que nunca se las puse yo.
- Zigett (4/5): Nice location but poor service levels - The hotel is well located in the leafy El Poblado neighbourhood. It's about a 20min walk to the metro station and 15mins to the Parque de El Poblado where a lot of tours start and finish. After some debate with the reception staff, we were given a complimentary upgrade to a 4th floor room with direct access to the pool from our terrace. We had Elite status but the receptionist insisted there were no upgrade rooms available until we showed her on the booking system...then miraculously a room became available! Our upgraded room came with an average size bath and shower, and showed some signs of wear and tear. It also lacked modern conveniences (e.g. USB sockets, soft close toilet lids). It could have been cleaner too, especially the drawers. And the bath drain plug was faulty so water continually drained from the bath. The small pool opened between 9am-10pm. We never saw anyone use it but it was fine for a quick dip. The gym on the 3rd floor was large and airy with a good selection of equipment. The 11th floor Executive Lounge served food and drinks between 5:30-7:30pm. It essentially consisted of various salads plus one hot dish. There was no beer one night as the hotel had apparently run out, but wine was readily available. However, only two drinks were allowed per person after which you were charged (spirits were also available but chargeable from the outset). On the plus side, service in the lounge was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was served in the main restaurant on the 1st floor and was an adequate buffet spread with egg station...no complaints here. Housekeeping was generally poor. We had only been allocated one robe and pair of slippers. We raised multiple requests for a second set, but nothing ever turned up. Worse still, they left us with only one small towel one day after refreshing our room and took away the hair dryer (sharing it with other rooms?). When it came to check-out, we discovered that the they had charged us for the full stay upfront even though we were categorically informed at check-in that our card would only be used for holding purposes. We later found out that it's common practice for Colombian hotels to charge upfront. Not a major issue, we were just annoyed that they did not inform us correctly as we had planned to use a different card for the final payment. The duty manager was totally indifferent when we explained this. Unsurprisngly, they also failed to post our Bonvoy points following our stay (which Marriott customer service quickly sorted out). Overall, we were left quite disappointed with our stay. The hotel and especially the levels of service were below expectations.

- tdr36 (4/5): A Really Disappointing Stay - We stayed here in late December as part of a longer LATAM trip, and unfortunately this was the weakest property we experienced. First, credit where it’s due: several staff members truly stood out and were the highlight of our stay, particularly the front desk associate we interacted with often, Juan Diego, Aquiles, and the housekeeper on the 11th floor. Their professionalism and kindness were excellent. That said, the hotel overall fell short of expectations. Executive Lounge: The lounge was consistently overcrowded, noisy, and messy, largely due to many families with children. Breakfast was not offered in the lounge, and there were even times when children were left unaccompanied as if this was a kids club. This was by far the least comfortable and unhygienic lounge we've experienced during any of our travels. Cleanliness: Multiple small but noticeable issues: dirty elevator floors, a used ear swab in the coffee bean holder by the elevators that went uncleaned for hours, and generally poor upkeep in common areas. These details added up. Food & Beverage: Very limited vegetarian options in the lounge, slow and inconsistent breakfast service, cold food, long waits for coffee, and inaccurate food labeling that led to dietary issues. Overall, well below Marriott standards. Service: We asked multiple times for New Year’s Eve restaurant recommendations and never received follow-up, leaving us without reservations or options on our final night. Room Experience: We were placed in a noisy connecting room despite flagging this at check-in, resulting in almost no sleep the first night. A room move was handled poorly the next day, and assistance with the actual moving of belongings and luggage was not offered. In both rooms, the shower water repeatedly shut off mid-use (not a reduced current, literally shut off). Bottom line: Despite a few excellent staff members, operational and service issues overshadowed the stay. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel in its current state, especially for Bonvoy elite members. I do hope improvements are made, as this should be one of Marriott’s top properties in Medellín.

If the hotel charges for short visits, this should be clearly disclosed at booking and check-in. I only paid to avoid an awkward situation with my friend. Additionally, when I was rushing to catch an international flight and couldn’t wait to formally check out due to a long line at the front desk, staff was disrespectful and treated me as though I was leaving without paying, despite having my credit card on file. I am a Lifetime Titanium Elite member and stay exclusively at Marriott properties, and I have never experienced treatment like this before. Multiple follow-up emails regarding this experience were also ignored. I will not be returning to this hotel or recommending it to anyone.

However, during one evening in the executive lounge, my wife encountered a highly inappropriate situation in the restroom involving two individuals engaging in intimate activity. This was extremely uncomfortable and completely unexpected in what is marketed as a five-star environment. I have stayed in many Marriott properties worldwide and have never experienced anything like this. I strongly recommend that hotel management reviews security and access control in the executive lounge to prevent similar incidents in the future.

They have many common attributes like fine service, large rooms comfortable beds, plush robes and unique character. We were excited to stay at the 5 star Marriott in Medellin. My wife is a titanium elite member and typically is treated exceptionally well. We arrived at 7 pm and waited 13 minutes to start check in. The hotel has 4 dedicated floors for elite members. Although we contacted the hotel 5 days before arrival they did not find a room for us in the elite floors. The room was small with a small bathroom featuring an old fashioned tub shower combo. The staff was generally very nice but the overall experience did not live up to expectations. So if you are looking for a five star hotel in Medellin, keep looking

Check-in was quick and smooth, and the front desk associate spoke good English. We were pleasantly upgraded to a high floor with a beautiful view of both the city and surrounding mountains. Since we arrived late, we visited the M Club Lounge for a light snack, but were surprised to find a full Mexican-style dinner setup, which was more than enough for the evening. The Elite breakfast was offered in the main restaurant and had a nice variety to choose from. A special thank you to Andrés, the hotel manager, who was extremely helpful when we had a minor issue with our TV. The entire staff throughout our stay was consistently friendly, professional, and accommodating. We enjoyed most of our meals at The Market restaurant on-site, which offered plenty of options. The location of the hotel is also very convenient, with numerous restaurants and shops within walking distance. We also chose to explore some local spots nearby and enjoyed that as well.

My partner was arriving to visit me the second day in the afternoon and they didn’t allow him to enter. They wanted to charge an extra fee of 200$ US. I totally disagreed and I changed my hotel the next day. Marriot poblado hotel is the more expensive hotel in the neighborhood of Poblado but absolutely a deception, there are much nicer and friendly hotels. They made me loose 2 days of my holidays, spending it alone in my room as if it was on a prison, don’t letting my friend to come in. It was a single person and I had paid a double room. And he was the only person I asked to be accepted. Totally a fraud. They made me loose my nerves what is very sad and disgusting in a holiday. And you should now that the rooms have no open window or balcony, all them have artificial ventilation. NEVER CHOOSE THIS HOTEL. DECEPCIONENTE Y ESTAFADORES. Realicé una reserva de 4 noches en habitación doble. Tenía un amigo colombiano que iba a venir a visitarme el segundo día por la tarde. Y no le dejaron entrar, querían cobrar 200 euros extra. Era la única persona que yo solicité que entrara. No quisieron aceptarlo por no haber llegado el primer día. Me sentí muy mal tratado, me hicieron poner de los nervios, llegando a una crisis de ansiedad. Una situación muy desconsiderada para mis vacaciones y muy triste. Al día siguiente cambié a otro hotel. Decir que aunque este hotel sea el más caro de el poblado no es para nada el mejor, son unos estafadores. Perdí dos días de mis vacaciones encerrado en la habitación como si estuviera en una cárcel (pagando 400€ la noche para este trato deplorable). Aprovecho para comentar que las habitaciones no tienen ventana ni balcón, son de ventilación artificial. NUNCA ESCOJAN ESTE HOTEL.

Plus, being just 45 minutes from the airport, getting there was easy. The amenities were impressive—the gym is huge and quiet, perfect for a workout, and the spa was a nice touch. I tried the Vitamin C facial, which was good, though I was hoping for more exfoliation and deep cleaning. As a Bonvoy Titanium member, I received an automatic room upgrade, which was amazing! The room itself was spacious and comfortable. However, I did experience some water issues—the ceiling was leaking, and the sink had brown water at one point. Fortunately, the staff was incredibly responsive and fixed everything right away, which I really appreciated. One of the best things about this hotel is how easy it is to get around—Uber is available everywhere, making transportation seamless. The staff was wonderful, and even the hotel’s golden retriever was helpful and welcoming! Overall, despite the minor maintenance issues, the great service, convenient location, and solid amenities made for a pleasant stay.

Exec lounge had a good selection of snacks at 5pm but wine was restricted to just 2 glasses. Never had that in any lounge around the world before. Lounge didn’t open for breakfast but the offering in the restaurant was ok. No sausages or bacon despite a large number of American visitors having breakfast. We had to sign for breakfast & drinks/food in the lounge which was odd as they didn’t cost us anything & annoying.

The concierge lounge was excellent with Francisco doing a very great job. The on-site food is excellent at both the sushi bar and the market restaurant. Weekend live music is a great touch. Now for the problems - the front desk failed to instruct all details of my stay and the security was extremely rude and inappropriate to both my girlfriend and I on several occasions. My best advice to this General Manager (I’ll contact the VP of Bonvoy operations for Central and South America with an email), is that you need to review your security protocols against customer service, especially for Bonvoy worries. Additional problems include: dirty pool area with used towels and no clean towels available, room service failing to follow instructions, and housekeeping not fully cleaning and re-stocking items. I will probably not stay here again and recommend you choose the Four Points Sheraton.

On our last day, today, we couldn’t use the breakfast because it open at 6:00 and we had to leave at 5:30, which whatever we didn’t make a big fuss over it. At 5:30, we went to the breakfast area, which was with staff already preparing for the opening in 30 min, and asked just for coffee to go. They have to go cups in the front and the coffee in a pitcher already. The man, FABIAN, came back with the coffees and asked us the room number to charge us. We said no we’re in the process of checking out but that we have breakfast included. We explained we just wanted coffee to go which we’ve had taken to go every day during our stay. The guy walked away with the coffees because we didn’t want to pay for them since they’re included for us already! We went to the front desk and Leandro said not a problem that he would call the kitchen. FABIAN refused to answer the phone and after the fourth try he finally did. We went back to the breakfast area and FABIAN was standing there SHRUGGING HIS SHOULDERS, SMIRKING AND LAUGHING AT US BECAUSE HE WOULDNT GIVE US OUR COFFEE. Do you think this is a normal way to treat a guest? Every single day we’ve stayed here, we have tipped everyone very well who have given us any type of service. We are three paying rooms which each room has a Marriott Bonvoy member of status. We are Latinos from Venezuela and speak Spanish so no misunderstanding was had. We went back to Leandro and said FABIAN is a very rude staff member who was mocking and laughing at us, and that WE SIMPLY JUST WANTED OUR COFFEE. Leandro said but wait how is he rude? Does laughing and mocking a guest not considered rude??!! We told Leandro we wanted a refund on our breakfast at that point considering the rude behavior and lack of action from Leandro, and he said the best he can do is give us the contact of the manager since he was not on the property. If the argument was that breakfast wasn’t open yet and that they weren’t serving any guests already, then fine we understand. But FABIAN brought out the coffees and was willing to give us the coffee ONLY IF WE PAID? What a sick, rude, and scammer staff. We even told him is this how you want to represent Marriott, and he said he didn’t care and laughed. This is disgusting behavior. As a Marriott Bonvoy member, I will never be staying here ever again and we frequent Colombia often. Additionally, I will be reporting this property. AVOID AT ALL COST I promise you there are way better places.

- TravelWithWen (2/5): Not Recommended - I went to Medellin for a relaxing and fun experience; however, Medellin Marriott Hotel was the opposite—anxiety and headaches. I will leave this review a bit vague about the issue details and encourage you to read the other negative reviews on this page because they are nearly all true based on my experience. I originally planned to stay at the hotel for 4 nights but only stayed for 3 because I did not care more about my experience at this hotel. The customer service is poor, considering the time spent during and after the stay. During the stay, people are transactional and more abrasive than helpful when you have a question or concern/issue that needs resolution. To illustrate, I checked out of this hotel 11 days ago (when I was writing this review) and am still waiting to receive a copy of my bill after speaking with two hotel representatives via phone. The hotel has unique business rules that I consider strange compared to other Marriotts worldwide. I understand it is their "local" hotel, and they make their own rules, which unfortunately do not cater to what most experienced international travelers are accustomed to. If you want to avoid hotel culture shock, stay away from this hotel. Meanwhile, the hotel looks nice and clean, which is insufficient to justify a $300+ room per night. Overall, I cannot recommend this hotel.

- Scott (1/5): Stereotyping people and harassing guest - Location The staff sterotyped my girlfriend as a prostitute...we had to register her 3 times..every time we walked in they forced us rudely to the front desk...God forbid you have tattoos ..they will harass you everytime you walk in...terrible experience..will never go back ..n im a marriott bonvoy member..sad truly sad..found a much better hotel around the corner..never had a problem not once being harassed..
- Marcial (4/5): Bad service and expensive - Found it expensive for what is offered. One day they did not cleaned my room at all, despite de fact that at 4pm I made a claim at reception. Not even an apology was made to me.
- Rodrigo (6/5): - Instalaciones muy simple y no muy limpias, gente muy amable pero todo muy lento los servicio y hay que estar recordando aseo en las habitaciones malo, creo que hay mejores opciones en Medellin.

We booked a corner suite but upon arriving late we realised the bed was in a really poor condition that one side looked like an elephant had been sleeping there for months as it had a huge dip in it and was very uncomfortable. We did complain but they said they could not change the mattress until the following day. No offer for a room change or any compensation for our poor nights sleep.

- Mauricio (6/5): - The first room I had (915) was great. I had to move to another room because of a reservation issue (my fault). I was given room 1109. It was smelling horrible, like humid. I was given room 1107 it was great but over the night I realized the AC wasn't cooling. I set it to 21c and it didn't come lower than 24c Not a great experience for such an expensive stay in Colombia
