- Jeremy (10/5): Great stay would reccomend - Delightful staff and great food and atmosphere
- Bobby (3/5): Great location with tired rooms - Location is great
Character of building
Staff friendly and professional Rooms are tired and dated
Carpets in room full of dog hairs
Bathroom have temperamental electric shower not fit for purpose
- Nicolas (6/5): -
- Tessa (8/5): - Room was cold
- Steve (8/5): Class act in a class location - Ideal location with car park
- Wilcox (10/5): - Breakfast was great, the staff were welcoming and attentive. Room was clean and tidy, check in was quick and easy and the team were very friendly and recommended some great places to visit and eat as the kitchen was closed for dinner during my visit. The water pressure in the shower was very weak.
- kevin (8/5): Great service, facilities & location , definitely would recommend - Great service, lovely & warm atmosphere, perfect location in the town centre. A tad pricey eating in the restaurant, but lovely food nevertheless.
- Lynn (9/5): - The location. The breakfast. Had a great night's sleep. The room was a little cold.
- Ann (10/5): - The staff we're lovely & the stay was great There was nothing not to like
- adelle (3/5): Dissapointing.couldve stayed at a spa down the road for cheaper which wouldve been a lot cleaner - Location Room was not value for money.
Carpet was filthy.
Filthy to the point that the soles of my bare feet were black from walking on it.
Lino in bathroom not been cleaned.
That was filthy too with a distinct large yellow urine mark next to toilet.

- KirstyHoyer (9/5): -
- Nicole B (10/5): - Great central location with parking. Staff were really friendly and the breakfast was very tasty. Tomatoes were fabulous. Everything was great. Although it was a bit pricey for a pub, the free parking in notoriously difficult Knutsford and the lovely breakfast made it well worth the cost.
- David (9/5): -
- Jordan (4/5): -
- Helen (7/5): Average for price charged. - Good location. No information in room about wi-fi, check out etc. Poor shower. Sleep with window open so quite noisy because of traffic and planes.
- Jackie (8/5): Good for overnight stay - Great location, comfortable bed, friendly staff and great breakfast. Shower pressure not great
- James (7/5): Great place to stay, staff were wonderful! Would highly recommended for anyone staying in Knutsford. - Staff were lovely, food was great. Breakfast was exceptional, everything was tasty and fresh! Location was perfect, parking easy, assistance always on hand. Great value for money! The shower head in our room was weak, more like a gentle misting rather than a shower. The windows were also hard to open.
- Simon (8/5): - Very friendly staff, pleasant environment, great location. WiFi kept logging me out and had to reconnect too frequently
- Dewi Gwyn (8/5): -
- Johnson (10/5): Comfortable.. lovely breakfast - Lovely historic building.. beams galore . Friendly service, lovely breakfast

- Carolyn (9/5): - The hotel was lovely although the rooms was above the bar it wasn't noisy. The car park was a big added bonus.the staff are all very nice. Nothing really. They was a bit short staffed at breakfast. Elisha (I think her name) was very good and dealt with the few complaints. Our room had the bed next to a wall but had everything you needed.
- Natalka (8/5): Very pleasant and comfy overnight stay - Comfy bed in a lovely well equipped room (Arley).
Very pleasant helpful staff and full English breakfast was excellent.
Along with the usual biscuits, sweeties in the room was a lovely treat. Tiny en-suite with a small step up to it, but very well equipped.
- Tigerchops04 (6/5): Nice pub - it's a nice pub with nice food, cozy when the fire is on. We have stayed before. Comfy beds and there are little extras in the room. Avoid staying Monday night as the drayman delivers just before 6am and the noise is horrendous for about half hour. I did complain and apparently they do have quieter rooms available. So ask.
Also very bright in a morning as only shutters no curtains.
- Christine (9/5): You won’t be disappointed with the amazing breakfast at this hotel! - Great location as we were there for a wedding at The Hidden Barn!
Room clean and comfortable bed. Didn’t use the shower..
Breakfast was amazing, unlimited drinks coffee or tea. Attentive, friendly staff. Maybe the carpets in room were a little old!
- Sally (10/5): All we could have wanted - Ideal location very friendly and accommodating staff pleasure to stay. Will Be returning. Nothing
- Slate (10/5): -
- Melissa (10/5): Great hotel will definitely be returning - Beautifully decorated, very clean and staff were lovely.
- Martyn (8/5): A very pleasant stay in a characterful venue. - This is a lovely old pub/inn with a huge amount of character, set right in the heart of Knutsford. The food was excellent- we had both dinner and breakfast, while the room was very clean and our little dog was well provided for. Staff were very friendly, helpful and attentive while the on-site parking was a real bonus. Our room was a little cold and the portable heater supplied didn't really do much. The shower was quite weak but we managed ok and the water was warm enough.
- Francis (8/5): -
- Sue (8/5): Lovely as always - Everyone is very friendly. Very close to restaurants and bars. Very poor shower so changed rooms and it was a little better. Lovely old building but plumbing poor.
- Gill (8/5): Just what I needed - Great, friendly and welcoming staff.
Quirky old building, very centrally located with a carpark. It as all good
- Simon (10/5): Comfortable and good value - Very comfortable bed.
- SIOBHAN (10/5): -
- Lisa (8/5): - Unfortunately not much shower pressure
- Bethany (8/5): -
- Anne (10/5): - Excellent Atmosphere was lovely
- Michelle (6/5): - Food Was lovely
Staff friendly and welcoming For the cost of the room I was disappointed with how basic it was
Also, the corridor leading to the rooms had a string smell of urine
- Suzanne (10/5): - Location, parking, staff, atmosphere. Absolutely favulous. Would highly recommend. Bed bit snug
- Lina (8/5): Had a truly fabulous stay, with delicious food, caring staff and a fabulous location. Free parking was very handy too. W - Location was fantastic and all the staff were very friendly, helpful and welcoming. Room was a little light at night as well as shutters the windows would benefit from some curtains too. Nothing major just would add to the cost feel of the room.
- Philip (6/5): Average - Location Showers very poor
- Scoogo (10/5): Friendly Rose & Crown - Staff were amazing, really friendly and helpful. Food was great and the room was very spacious and clean. Would highly recommend
- Joe (8/5): Lovely stay, great location, comfortable room & welcoming staff - Room was pretty good, well-presented & pleasant. Clearly it's a very old building so the oil radiator was definitely a welcome inclusion. There was a used bottle of shampoo in the shower - not a biggie. The welcome & check in was great, lovely pub. Parking easy, directions to this were great (& needed). We did struggle with the front door lock, got there in the end but it was sticking so we panicked for a bit! - made the staff aware at breakfast. Breakfast was great. covered in teh above, just a cpl of niggles
- Susan (10/5): Very relaxing and the food was excellent. - The old wooden beams give a cosy feeling. The lighting is soft and relaxing.
- Colin (10/5): Great place to stay in the heart of Knutsford - Great location, interesting building, helpful staff, nice meal.
- linda (4/5): -
- Sharon (8/5): -
- Maxine (10/5): - The bar area was lovely and cosy and the food was fabulous The shower in our room wasn't great not strong enough flow to get a shower. Room 6
- Garth (8/5): Really good value and a nice stay for one night on business. I would stay again and reccomend for the money. - location and friendliness of the staff shower could have been better. Hallways a bit tired
- veronica (7/5): Really nice stay - Lovely clean room and plenty of teas and coffees The shower wasn't very hot, but the bath was hot
- Philip (6/5): Just a poor shower - The shower was pathetic little water came out
- MAXINE (10/5): - Always a chilled atmosphere. Great food and service. Staff friendly and welcoming .
- Deborah (10/5): Excellent location, nice room, attentive staff and delicious breakfast - Breakfast was delicious and staff attentive Everything was very good
- David (8/5): Really good - Clean
, good value for money, friendly staff No issues
- Wendy (7/5): -
- Helen (8/5): Fabulous location with super friendly staff - Fabulous location in the heart of Knutsford . Perfect for wedding at Larkspur Lodge . Staff were lovely and looked after us all so well . One of the best vegetarian breakfasts I’ve ever had and great choice . Nothing - just an updated shower head in bathroom needed .
- Tina (9/5): -
- carol (9/5): - In city centre room great and clean staff were very friendly and the meal on the first night was the best Chicken supreme Ive ever had xx Nothing will come again x
- Thomas (10/5): Excellent would recommend.🥂🌹 - Very satisfactory breakfast..
We can’t commend the staff more highly, they were wonderful, over and beyond. Thank you Nothing to add
- Christine (9/5): Lovely pub in a beautiful little town, but would request a quieter room if we revisit. - Nice room with comfortable bed and great shower. Box of teas and coffees, biscuits and mineral water complementary. Good breakfast and lovely helpful staff. It was noisy. Ok we were told at check-in that there was a band on the Friday night but were assured the bar would be closing at 11.00 and so we wouldn’t be kept up. Not quite the case; the band (VERY LOUD if you’re directly above it) finished at about 11.10 but then the noise from the bar continued till about 11.45. In addition, there’s piped music playing into the street from 9.00 am which (at least in room 3) you are aware of at all times. Not very restful.
- Vaughan (7/5): Great establishment and staff excellent! Thank you - I have stayed before and it was a good stay. Infotunately shower needed replacement and water pressure very low as I recall. Music was a little loud too late as room opened into courtyard during hot night so needed to keep the window open.
- Lydia-mary (10/5): -
- Joanne (7/5): Great location, but shower an issue need to be renewed before I would stay again - Location very good, beautiful building, room size & decor lovely.
Staff lovely & breakfast delicious. Shower very poor, old ,no power to it & lukewarm water, could not wait to get out of it.
Looking back on previous comments the showers have been an issue for sometime but have not been addressed.
I paid £170 for my room & expected a shower that I could use . I would have got a better shower at a Premier Inn.
Asked for a quiet room & ended up with a room above the bar !! Although the noise did die down after 11pm.
- Lisa (5/5): - Location The noise
- Sharon (9/5): Relaxing and very enjoyable - Loved the old charm of the place
Very friendly and welcoming staff especially Hannah at check in very professional and accommodating.
Cleaning lady was very helpful too didn’t get her name. Breakfast was fab very pleased with our stay and will be back Nothing
- Kenneth (8/5): Was happy with our stay & for the money would stay again. - Breakfast was excellent, beds were comfortable. The shower in the bathroom had weak water pressure, but it worked.
- Robert (8/5): -
- victoria (10/5): Fabulous - Central staff friendly and food fab Nothing
- John (9/5): Great location and lovely owner! - I've stayed there before and quose to stay there because I enjoyed my previous vist. On this occasion one of the owner was particularly lovely as she went out of her way to show me how to get to the hotels car park. On the evening I was there, a Sunday, the bar closed quite early...
- Graeme (8/5): - Central to Knutsford, great breakfast and free car park.
- Jordan (4/5): Still good for what I need but I'll look around vs automatically choosing again. - Breakfast good as always, the location is unrivalled for exploring Knutsford and its lovely town. I was there for work but we always opt to stay in town for dinners and atmosphere, a shame I didn't know the bar closed at 8pm as typically like to enjoy the bar and restaurant but this is fine, a normal process, given low season, the snowy weather and it being a sunday. Staff as always incredibly welcoming and helpful. I've stayed here 3 times in the last 8 months and always had a good experience. This time due to the short notice nature of the stay and it only being the one night I opted for the double room instead of the king. Unfortunately the difference in quality of room is significant, and not proportionate with the typical downgrade you expect. The room I was in was in a different, presumably newer part of the building vs the one that looks out onto King St. The walls were incredibly thin, I could hear neighbours late into the evening, as well as excessively loud plumbing noises from the bathroom above whenever the tap was run, the toilet flushed or the shower. That brings me onto my biggest gripe, particularly given it was -7 Monday morning when I stayed but the shower ran cold and with absolutely awful water pressure. All rooms have poor showers but the ones I've been in before, room 2 from memory is passable. They all have the filtering shower heads on which for what I can see just negate pressure and make for a poor experience but cold water in that weather was really disappointing.
- Susan (10/5): Fabulous destination - friendly staff couldn’t do more for us - Excellent evening meal and breakfast. Fabulous vegetarian food Nothing it was all grand
- John (6/5): - It's a small town so having parking made available was a huge plus. Friendly staff and a proper full english breakfast. The hotel was above a busy pub but we didn't notice the noise. There was more noise coming from the overhead planes close to the airport. The water pressure from the shower head was absolutely terrible. Ended up having to use the bath. We stayed for only one night and arrived rather late so we only discovered this in the morning which wasn't pleasant.
- Lindsay (9/5): Lovely cosy accommodation right on the high street. - Lovely cosy pub right on the high street. Lovely large bedroom with lots of little extras - full coffee and tea selection, shampoo, conditioner and shower gel, even haribos😁 great breakfast and friendly staff. May be a little pricey, but it was New Years Eve.
- Kieran (6/5): - We missed breakfast so couldn’t comment on this. The building itself was really nice. Staff were excellent The shower was really poor. Shower head spraying everywhere, the dials are really stiff could just about adjust the setting for temperature. For the price of the room this didn’t meet expectations
- Veronica (7/5): Lovely hotel, great location and excellent food - Beautiful old building with original features. Lovely Xmas decorations! The food was excellent (we had lunch and breakfast). The breakfast was the best I have had in a very long time! Room was spacious and clean and bed very comfortable. Lots of coffee/tea provisions. Bath towels nice and thick. Great to have private parking and location was great for exploring. Staff were very pleasant, friendly and happy to help. Nothing the property can do anything about, but it is under a flight path with flights being as frequent as every 2 minutes during the day and then possibly every 5 throughout the night, so quite disturbing when trying to sleep. The property had done things to negate this, such as additional double glazing though, but the planes were quite low and therefore noisy.
- Fiona (8/5): A lovely stopover on the way south - Lovely cosy pub with excellent dining available despite Monday being no kitchen available, they were open for a delicious dinner Bed was comfortable. Breakfast was excellent. ,very clean
Friendly hard working staff Not easy to find the car park ! Room was a bit spartan , lighting poor so couldn’t read. No rail to get into over bath shower so didn’t use. Needs plugs and usb access for iPhones and iPads in the room with better access . Kept awake by neighbours tv
- Christine (8/5): Very enjoyable stay - This hotel/pub is cosy and warm. The friendly helpful staff made us feel very welcome and comfortable.
- Steven (9/5): Exactly what it says it is - Ideal location. Comfortable room. Lovely breakfast
- Jacklynn (8/5): - Very central
- David (8/5): Enjoyable and peaceful - Rustic and reminder of a world gone by. Comfortable and welcoming Secondary glazing a little in efficient with aircraft noise from Manchester Airport a little disturbing during the silent hours.
- Carol (10/5): Fabulous pub in town centre. - Room was lovely! Option of extra heating. The pub is gorgeous! Breakfast was delicious. Location perfect for looking around the town. Free parking a bonus! Nothing.
- Clive (8/5): -
- elaine (4/5): Tiring !! - Hotel in perfect location and staff very helpful. However if we had been warned before booking that it would be a Christmas Party night we wouldn’t have done so. The music was underneath our bedrooms and didn’t finish until midnight. Consequently as we were staying to attend a family wedding the next day myself and my elderly parents didn’t get to sleep until gone 12.30pm. Not very happy !! A warning about the Christmas party evenings disturbing sleep until late especially certain bedrooms.
- Angela (10/5): - Great location. Friendly staff exceptional food. Nothing!
- Stephen (7/5): -
- Kay (8/5): Great location, great rooms, good breakfast - The character of the property. And warm and welcoming. Rooms lively. Good faculties Nothing. We love the Rose & Crown
- Jeanette (8/5): Good value for money don’t stay in room 108 - Great location very clean and comfortable breakfast was fantastic and staff very helpful and friendly Room 108 cold bathroom as no heater shower was dreadful and the kitchen extractor fan is right outside the bedroom window and was very very noisy from 6.30 am
