Basel (9/5): Superb and budget friendly - The owner miss Jeanette was so accommodating and awesome. We just had a quick stay but it's worth it ... it really give a home away from home feeling 🤗 budget friendly, quiet and homey.

Also, many to mention in terms of restaurant nearby. I want to go back this property. Most important is the safetiness. So far, i dont have words to dislike the place.

Preemq4 (7/5): Cheap, nearby to Jonker Street and reasonably good stay - The friendly staff and the location of the hotel, nearby Jonker Walk, ease of access via foot. The toilets were clean and the unit was quiet despite the restaurants downstairs. The cleanliness of the room could be improved as there were specks of dust on the floor and the bed. The check-in process could be improved as I was lost when I reached the property and had to call and collect the key from the nearby restaurant. Probably could suggest that this be communicated up-front for ease of reference.

The owner of "Restoran How Her Siang Tim Sum" will shoo away rudely if you parked your car in front of his shop, he will illegal occupy around 10 unit parking lot from evening till midnight. Hope local enforcement will take action soon...

Malick (4/5): Disappointed - Nice location and nice facilities No communication with the owner. She never answered my messages and calls during the whole duration of the stay. I had to ask for help from the shop owners close-by… Plus I was given a room without the number of beds specified.. Disappointing because the guesthouse is nice and convenient

Clive (4/5): Disappointing - Very cheap, and fairly central but off the main tourist track so there were some great restaurants below frequented by locals at absurdly cheap prices. I booked into 1511 Guest House using Booking.com, mistaking it for Cafe 1511 Guest House as recommended in Lonely Planet, then located in a Peranakan house but now closed (the building is now the Baba & Nyonya Heritage museum). The Portugese took over Malacca in 1511 so the name usage isn't necessarily opportunism. The wet room / wc arrangement may not be to everyone's taste. But I stayed. And the owner manager is delightful and at the price I have no right to complain!
Karen (7/5): Quirky guesthouse above a convenience store. Self checkin but you have to call the owner to let you - Location is excellent. Clean, homey. Bed & pillows comfy but no top sheet, just a small quilt. Bathrooms clean but couldn’t find toilet paper anywhere. I wanted a quiet room but was on the front main st so it was noisy, car alarms, dogs barking & people outside especially as I was there over a weekend. Also had very noisy Japanese girl next door last night - had to tell her to be quiet at 1:30 am! It’s a weird setup as lovely owner doesn’t live on premises. I arrived & the store owner downstairs had to call her to have someone come to let me in! Waited 45 mins for the man to arrive!

Jonker street and several other attraction places are just in walking distance. 24hr shop and other restaurants are just very close to the guest house On top of all, very satisfying hospitality by the management/staff/owner. Very clean place. Soothing and calm ambiance. This is the place where you'll feel you're at home.

As I am traveling alone, it is very safe to walk there, and it is very near to Jonker walk street, Stadthuys Melaka, and the river cruise, about 6 to 7 mins walk only. The toilet is also convenient and clean. It has 4 shared loo. The owner is very nice too. Highly recommended to stay here. They also provide towels in the room. The bed has some dust under the blanket. One of the lamps is broken and not fixed. It might be noisy at night around 10pm-12pm due to the restaurant at the ground floor.
