• Andrew (8/5): Lovely, comfortable stay. Nice outlook over a valley with many birds singing (including bellbirds). - The location suited us as we have relatives living nearby. It was also under 30 minutes to the city, the beaches and Lake Macquarie. The breakfast was more than we needed. No real complaints. The bedroom was small, but there was additional living space outside the bedroom. Parking happened to be a challenge with another guestroom requiring space for three cars, but that must have been an unusual occurence.

• Baxter (10/5): - Bruce and Dawne were lovely hosts and the breakfasts each morning were so appreciated. The room and shower facilities were great, and the pool was so good on hot days. Lots of great food options nearby also. The pillows were a little stiff and the mattress had a tendency to make you fall off if you got too close to the edge due to softness but otherwise it was a really nice stay and id recommend it.

Dawne and Bruce are exceptional hosts who go out of their way to make your stay a memorable one, providing helpful recommendations based on their extensive knowledge of the local area. The room was delightfully appointed and immaculately clean. Waking up to a delicious home-made breakfast each morning was the icing on the cake! You would be hard-pressed to find such affordable, high quality service and facilities anywhere else.

Snacks and other food on hand made a nice touch. The room and shared facilities were perfect for our needs; well laid out and designed, and organized. Would happily stay there again and will definitely recommend to family and friends. Nothing. AAA+++ 10 out of 10.

• Goddard (10/5): A perfect spot with excellent hosts. - Dawne and Bruce are first class B&B hosts. They have thought of everything a guest would need and have provided it. Their house is perfectly situated in a beautiful wooded area and the ambience is terrific. The breakfast and the way it is presented could not be better. We very seldom give a 10 but this B&B really deserves it. There was nothing to dislike.

The rooms are spacious including one big living room and terrace with great view. You feel very isolated,in the nature even it it is close to road. And the breakfast, you can choose from different options. All options are very delicious. Very good accommodation for its price. The owners are very nice and pleasant people.

Dawne was very welcoming and the room was spotlessly clean and had everything you needed. Found the pillows a tad firm even though there was a choice, they were just all too firm for my liking. Great amenities including a guest lounge/diner and kitchenette; fruit and soda/tea/coffee provided and a nice pool. The view was nice too and it was quiet. Bruce then was the perfect host at breakfast (which was included) and it was fresh, had a lot of choice, was punctual and tasty. Thank you. Also, the fellow guest I met at breakfast was delightful and made my stay. My own nit-picky issues were the slightly too firm pillows and that I was put on the spot to choose breakfast the moment I arrived. I get that pre-ordering is required, but even to let the hosts know by say 6pm would have been nicer. Also, as my room adjoined the stairs and their own quarters were above, the creaks and noise from the joinery or foot traffic, I couldn't work it out, was a tad annoying as I was trying to sleep. But overall, it was well worth the money and I'd stay again without hesitation.

If you like to escape the boisterousness from crowds and busy beaches, it is the best place for you to stay. Further both Bruce and Dawne are very friendly. Thanks Dawne and Bruce for you generosity! - Quiet with a tranquil outlook, spotlessly clean and comfortable, beautifully decorated and easily accessible, Valley View Bed and Breakfast met our needs perfectly. Dawne and Bruce are friendly, kind, thoughtful and helpful. The addition of a range of foods for an a la carte breakfast beautifully cooked and promptly served was a touch of extra luxury! We found the frequent bus service in to Newcastle and via shops a short walk away. Off street parking was more than adequate.

Breakfast was amazing, eggs and bacon: pancakes, etc choice was awesome. Hosts were so welcoming. Will definitely recommend to anyone. Really cannot think of anything. Possibly as there are stairs this could be an issue for some, but I’m sure the beautiful stay is more than enough.

• Peter (10/5): Idyllic location for a B&B break for visitors to Newcastle and surrounds. - The three course breakfast was delicious and served in our own little dining area (it was wet and cold otherwise we would have chosen the verandah). We tried most of the available options and they were very good. The view of the bush from our accommodation was lovely. The rooms were comfortable, light and clean. Bruce and Dawne were ideal hosts, concerned that we had all we needed but leaving us to enjoy our space contentedly while we were on site. The beds were comfortable and warm and it was whisper quiet at night. No downsides or suggestions for improvement to report!
