- Tamara (9/5): Super! - No.45 Ballater is gelegen in een schilderachtige omgeving, in het charmante dorp Ballater aan de rivier de Dee. De locatie is gunstig ten opzichte van Balmoral Castle en het Cairngorms National Park, beide absoluut een bezoek waard. Het guesthouse is traditioneel ingericht, met onder andere tartan vloerbedekking, en straalt karakter uit. Het personeel is bijzonder vriendelijk en gastvrij. De kamer was comfortabel en verzorgd. Het ontbijt was uitgebreid en gevarieerd, met opties voor iedere smaak: van porridge met honing, omelet met spinazie, pannenkoeken, bacon en heerlijke worstjes tot yoghurt met vers fruit. Niks op aan te merken.

The staff are very friendly and always looking to make your stay comfortable and willing to help. The breakfast is excellent and lots of good homemade produce available to try out. - Nicolas (9/5): Very good stay in Ballater - This is a nice place, the room was nice, the wifi maybe a bit unstable, but this is a good place to stay: the room has all you might expect, a little rustic perhaps but very decent and also competitively priced. Good parking just opposite. Very nice breakfast, probably the best we had actually.

- Marine (10/5): je recommande les yeux fermé. - le petit déjeuné, préparation maison, était fabuleux, avec un belle accueille. bien copieux, et dans un lieu magnifique, chaleureux. de plus nous avons eu du retard a l'aéroport, et il nous attendu, même conduit en ville pour que l'on mange un bout le soir en nous recommandons des établissements. le retour a pied n'était pas long, 5 min en marchant.

- Nina (10/5): - Das Zimmer war gross und sehr geschmackvoll eingerichtet. Das Bett war gemütlich und wir haben sehr gut geschlafen. Das B&B liegt etwas ausserhalb des Zentrums, innerhalb 10 Minuten ist man zu Fuss jedoch mitten im Ort. Das Zimmer war ruhig, wir haben nichts von den anderen Gästen mitbekommen. Wir haben nachts trotz geöffnetem Fenster (unser Zimmer lag zum Vorplatz und Strasse hin) gut und ruhig geschlafen. Das Haus ist gross und sehr geschmackvoll eingerichtet. Der Frühstücksraum liegt im hinteren Teil des Hauses mit Blick in den Garten. Alison & Les haben uns im Vorfeld verschiedene Tipps fürs Abendessen gegeben. Wir haben uns für das Restaurant Fish Shop entschieden - sehr zu empfehlen.

La struttura è pulita, curata e arredata in un caldo stile scozzese che rende l’ambiente accogliente e autentico. La colazione è stata magnifica, ricca e preparata con grande attenzione. I proprietari e tutto lo staff sono stati gentilissimi e sempre disponibili, contribuendo a rendere il soggiorno davvero speciale. Un luogo bellissimo, che consigliamo con entusiasmo!

Rooms are lovely, great bathroom facilities and such a comfortable bed in a big spacious bedroom! Nicer than a lot of hotels we have stayed in. Breakfast was delicious and so well prepared and very generous portions, I had omelette and my friend had pancakes neither of us could finish.

Have been travelling for a month and one of the best sleeps so far! Breakfast room was in an atrium/sun room overlooking a lovely garden and the breakfast was delicious! Alison’s attention to detail was also exceptional with the breakfast . Ah, to have hot food served hot! Even HOT milk for my coffee. With gratitude! Can’t think of a thing we didn’t like!
