- Katrina (10/5): Beautiful place to stay, great food, lovely friendly staff. - The owner has done a fantastic job of refurbing the building (still doing lots of work currently).
The staff were really friendly, beds comfortable, rooms beautiful, clean and had a lovely view.
The food was really good.
The beach and golf course were really close and great!
I would highly recommend staying here. Had a great stay only thing I would of changed was the cider on draft as I don’t like strongbow but that’s personal preference.
- Leigh (10/5): - Kevin - a fantastic host - thank you.
I look forward to many more trips. Clean, tidy, welcoming - all round it was fantastic.
- baxter (10/5): Great value for money. Would definitely stay again if I'm in the area. - Staff were plesant and helpful. Breakfast was exceptionally. Overall was a very comfortable stay.
- Eric (10/5): - This is a lovely old hotel that has just been renovated to a very high standard. Staff very friendly and welcoming. View from are room was lovely with scenic views of the sea and surrounding golf course which is basically a few steps from the front door .
Breakfast was really tasty ( unfortunately wasn’t an option while booking .

- Janette (10/5): Great stay and location - The management were so attentive. I booked the room first thing that morning. Due to family situation for the following day.
There was myself, husband and son alo g with our dog. We were given a second room for free. That was amazing generosity. Nothing to mention. Everything was good.

- Craig (10/5): - Friendly staff and food amazing
Ruhig Nichts
- Auvo (6/5): Cruden Bay golf oli aivan vieressä, joten siksi sijainti erinomainen. - Aamiainen oli ihan riittävä, hedelmät ja marjat olivat tuoreita. Kokki teki runsaan munakkaan.
- Alice (10/5): Great Stay even for non golfers - We had a brilliant stay at this venue. The hosts were so helpful and the staff were really friendly. After only being owners for a short time Kevin and Debbie have already done so much to improve the place and have more renovations planned. The food was excellent with gluten free options and plenty of fresh fruit and veg on offer, also portions were very generous. We visited Slains Castle and walked along endless beaches and visited the colonies of seals at Newburgh. The golf course on the doorstep is well renowned but we were just there for a wee break with our dog Mungo, who was also made very welcome. I can't think of anything I disliked
- Julia (10/5): - Everything was perfect! Great room, great staff, and really great food! We enjoyed our stay here a lot.
- XavierDel (9/5): - accueil top, restau et petit dej top, localisation top
- ALBERTO (9/5): Beautiful - The view was amazing, the staff really nice and the room characteristic
- Fiona (10/5): -
- George (9/5): Great location, friendly staff had a good stay but if I was going’s back I would find out if they had live music before I - Great Location, lovely bright rooms with a big comfortable bed The night I stayed they had a live band in the bar which was rather loud and ran on until after midnight,I did not bother me that much but had I known it was happening I probably would not gave booked there
- Alastair (10/5): -
- Mulraney (1/5): - It is 23.30 and there is live music playing.
It is extremely loud and we can't sleep.
- Matt (10/5): Lovely hotel with lovely owners - food was great too! No notes. -
- Stuey (10/5): - Lovely location staff very helpfull and friendly enjoyed my stay ended up staying another night
Super consigliato! Nulla
- Michael (10/5): -
- Barbara (8/5): -

- Clive (7/5): Good - Dog friendly Noisy bar, pricey breakfast.
- Kieran (10/5): Exceptional -
- Dovilec (9/5): Superb -
- Hannah (10/5): An amazing time with great service, food, and drinks. - The staff were so friendly and engaging. The rooms are conveniently just above the lobby, restaurant, and bar. The hotel is close to the beach, castle, and golf course. The rooms were a bit dated, but we found it charming.
- John (10/5): Welcoming and comfortable. - Excellent, friendly host made us very welcome and was so attentive to our needs.
All meals were of a very high standard, ser ved hot and quickly. Breakfast buffet was exceptional.
Beds were comfortable and towels were fluffy!
- Peter (4/5): Disappointing /dangerous - Tired decor , bath lights didn’t work, no hot water in tap, electrics dodgy (multi plug fixed to wall as permanent electric fitting - surely not compliant with EICR) lobby and stairs smelt of deep fat frying.
- Lynda (10/5): Exceptional - We had a wonderful stay at the St Olaf Golf Hotel in Cruden Bay! The gentleman at the front gave us fantastic recommendations on where to explore locally, which really made our trip special. The staff were all friendly and welcoming, and the view from the hotel was absolutely stunning. We’d happily stay again! 🌊⛳✨
- De (10/5): Exceptional - The view is amazing, great staff and very close to golf clubhouse
- Barnaby (10/5): Exceptional - Friendly welcome, comfy room, superb hosts, excellent breakfast, amazing view of golf course and sea
- Fiona (10/5): Excellent, going back in august - Lovely staff , great location .
Good food
- Thomas (10/5): - Friendly staff, close to golf course, and good food options.
- Johan (9/5): Superb -
- Peter (5/5): Passable - Very friendly staff, and - for us - a great location The food was very hit and miss - big portions but not great quality. Received the wrong meal on more than one occasion, too.
Basic room, dated furniture and a shower that has seen better days - many of them, clearly.
- Kath (9/5): A little gem, would recommend staying here. - Great location, value for money. We were given a room upgrade, which we felt was excellent customer service We were unable to open the windows, but otherwise we loved everything about this property
- Mark (8/5): Very good -
- Greg (10/5): Hidden gem in Cruden Bay - Excellent location just a short walk to first tee at Cruden Bay Golf Club. Very friendly owner and staff. Room was neat and tidy albeit a bit dated. I was in room 3 and had sweeping views out over the golf course. Bar and sports bar both had a good vibe and were well stocked. Great place for a stay in this area that has many excellent golf courses a bit of the beaten track.
- Rhona (10/5): Exceptional - Loved having fresh milk provided in a flask for the tea tray. Nothing
- Neil (6/5): Nice but a little tired. The owner is doing it up so will be interested to go back and see the improvements - Kevin was a nice host, no issues when our dog was sick in the lounge! Comfy bed and a short walk into town, beach and the gentle meander to Slains Castle
- Rachel (10/5): Family visit - great hotel - Owner was really helpful, looked after my family during the stay. Food was great, staff are amazing and friendly. Cannot recommend the hotel enough. The bar is good too!
- Deneb (10/5): Exceptional -
- Nicholas (9/5): Enjoyable Weekend - Staff and food was excellent
- Lesley (8/5): Very good - Delicious food for both breakfast and dinner. Very friendly staff who went out their way to cater for my gluten intolerant husband. It’s a great wee hotel.

Great location, gorgeous view. Rocking bar with pool table
- Jane (9/5): Fantastic! - The food was absolutely OUTSTANDING!! Best we’ve had for ages. Really tasty and big portions. Also the staff and hosts were brilliant. The rooms need updating a bit but the owners are new and working on that.
- Winfield (10/5): This is the best hotel experience we have had…personal and professional. - Our guy Kevin went above and beyond to take care of our group. We were missing two golf bags and a luggage bag, with limited response from the airline. Kevin and his staff were diligent in demanding the airport/airline deliver our bags, which arrived the next day, after being promised 3 days later. He was very attentive to our needs as a group, and provided us service above and beyond anything we expected. If you are looking for a place to stay in Cruden Bay, this is a must. Location to the golf course, quality of service, quality of restaurant and staff, comfortable, clean rooms.
- Riley (8/5): Very good -
- Frank (10/5): Exceptional - Fabulous location, a couple minutes from the course. Kevin, the owner, is very friendly and extremely knowledgeable about golf and all the courses in the area.
- Nidhi (9/5): Superb - Comfortable place with a sea view. The staff were friendly and supportive..
- Kate (10/5): Exceptional -
- Janice (8/5): Fantastic and great fun 🤩 - The owners and staff were fantastic- so welcoming and looked after us very well. They were really friendly and great fun . My mother is coeliac & everything was so well organised for her from gluten free treats on arrival to all the lovely food at breakfast and dinner. It’s in a gorgeous location overlooking Slains Castle and a perfect base for touring around the area.
- David (10/5): Exceptional -
- Mae (9/5): Superb -
- christopher (10/5): - had a great stay, would recommend, knowledgeable friendly owners and staff, food was great .... good for a golfers or those visiting the area
- Bjornar (10/5): One of the best hotel stays we've ever had! - An absolutely beautiful stay! The owners of the hotel instantly make you feel welcome and at home. The views from the hotel are breathtaking and the rooms are clean, spacious and quiet. The food in the restaurant was perfectly cooked, wether it was breakfast, lunch or dinner. The hotel staff was friendly and very helpful. I can't say enough good things about our stay. We will recommend this hotel to everyone we know. We are thankful to the hotel for their hospitality which went above and beyond. We can't wait to come back!
- Minuette (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jeff (10/5): - Perfect location to play Cruden Bay Golf Club. Owners were genuinely wonderful hosts and people. They couldn’t have been more accommodating and friendly. Really enjoyed our stay!
- Aran (8/5): I was expecting a cheap hotel and it surpassed my expectations good size room and clean - Great location, friendly staff, good breakfast and excellent value it exceeded my expectations Bathroom could have been more modern but a good size.
- Jordan (8/5): Beautiful, Good food, clean but cold - The building inside and out was beautiful, very clean and food was really good. Our room the family suit was very very cold. The heating was switched off during the night and we ended up with the younger children in bed with us to keep warm, by the morning we got up and dressed without showing it was so cold. We did have an electric heater in the room but it didn’t seem to make much difference. It was such a shame because everything else was beautiful! If it was summer this would not have been a problem.
- Jeff (8/5): - Nice place to stay for golfers playing Cruden Bay/St. Olaf. Very convenient and you can see part of the course from the hotel.
- Clare (8/5): Very good - Very comfortable traditional older Hotel. Great view over the golf course to the sea. Lovely friendly staff. A bit dated
