Murdell (10/5): - It’s a family run business and the owner was super nice and helpful , the property was peaceful , the only noise was the wild animals on the property like howler monkeys and lots of exotic bird species , the owner prepared a papaya from the tree right in front of our room , it was delicious. I would recommend this property for people that want a truly Costa Rican experience without all the crowds of the towns . Loved our stay at Casa Conley 10 out of 10 , can’t wait to visit again ✌

Anthony (10/5): - Only 10 min from Puerto Viejo but worth drive. Howler monkeys in the trees feet away from the pool, Sloths in the trees on the property. Green Macaws hooting all times of the day and night. Very quiet, great staff, and owner. If you want a true Costa Rican experience with comfort, I highly recommend. It feels like you are close enough to the thick of the party but far enough away to feel like a local. Very clean colored themed rooms give a unique twist to the experience. Also the price point is on point. Shout out to Mr Scott Conley!!!

M (10/5): - This place is a hidden gem. Its super clean. Impeccably maintained. And the staff is gracious helpful warm and friendly. Its set up on a hill a little but the road up is solid. And well maintained. It is quiet and secluded from the bustle of the towns.

Abigail (10/5): Exceptional - We loved our stay here! It's in the middle of the Forrest on top of the mountain. Perfect location close to Puerto viejo. Big rooms with a warm shower and good airco and fan. There is also a pool and a small gym you can use. The owner is very friendly and is super helpful. He gave us a lot of great tips and recommendations. At night we could hear the animals in the forest. Overall, great experience! The hotel is on top of the hill. If you come by car, make sure you are comfortable with a narrow off-road. 4x4 is not needed though, the way is just a bit steep. It does have it's charm

Birds, squirrels, goats and a peacock. I saw a couple of toucans flying around. Good location. Close to Puerto Viejo. The air conditioning control was not functioning properly.

Deborah (10/5): Live in nature. - We loved staying at Scott’s place. Once we got used to the idea of climbing up the mountain as we had no car it was great. Good exercise ! Being in the jungle we got to see sloths, monkeys and to anda up close as well as a number of other birds. Those howler monkeys sound like bear! Ricardo did a wonderful job of keeping the pool and communal areas clean. One suggestion which we mentioned to Scott is to add a fridge and coffee maker to the rooms. Would come back but I’d definitely get a car- which Scott had warned us about. The local bust was good plus you can easily flag down a ride! Great place to stay for quiet and nature. We prefer this to the crowds and noise of Puerto Viejo itself. Muchas Gracias y Pura Vida.

Shakira (10/5): A quick vacation - The place is incredibly beautiful, it is nestled between the mountains, surrounded by nature just a few minutes from Puerto Viejo. The rooms are surprisingly beautiful and the pool is ideal to have fun with the family. Everything was perfect!

James (10/5): A Secret Paradise in Puerto Viejo del Telamanca - This is an amazing & large private & exclusive property built on the side of a mountain with 2 wheel drive access overlooking the Rainforest canopy to the Southern Caribbean. It's safe secure absolutely peaceful and the diversity of wildlife at the hotel is amazing. Black sand beaches are close by and the vibe here is mesmerizing, you can sit on the balcony looking at the ocean, smelling burning wood drifting up from the valley below and breathing the fresh air that's filtered through the rainforest canopy. I've stayed here 5 times and every time has been absolutely magical with sloss in the trees around the hotel listening to the howler monkeys communicate and watching toucans and other tropical birds fly back and forth around the property. If you like seclusion, privacy, and exclusivity and still be close to the National Park and beautiful beaches, this is a place you should take a closer look at because it's Beautiful, Relaxing and I guarantee your soul will be refreshed. Samasati retreat is close by, but their rooms are double or triple the cost with the same view. Nothing, this is the best place to stay on the Southern Caribbean coast.
Kenneth (10/5): A place to return - Located less than 10 minutes from Puerto Viejo which ensures peace and rest but close enough to the action and the beach. Only the entrance to the hotel is an adventure, a road in excellent condition between the mountains that leads to the hotel. From our second floor room we could see the sea and enjoy the sounds of the mountain. The service is excellent and very personal. The rooms are spacious, clean and well ventilated. The indoor pool is an afternoon gathering place regardless of the weather. Ample and safe parking near the rooms. Within 5 minutes there are restaurants, supermarkets and a gas station for whatever is needed. In general, a place to return...
Deirdre (6/5): Pleasant - Staff (I think his name is Luke) were very helpful . Provided names and number for taxi and restaurant. Room is nice and spacious, hot water, free laundry facilities (to use yourself) would be lovely if you wanted peace and quiet as a couple or maybe a family. Scenery is beautiful. Location is horrendous for a solo traveller, very isolating, I don't believe on booking.com it is advertised honestly enough. A car is an absolute necessity and not for anyone on their own because it is so lonely.

Arielle (8/5): - Scott the owner is a gem. He is there to help guests at any time. The hotel is tucked away up in the jungle. When you look out past the trees you can see the ocean in the horizon. The bed was one of the most comfortable beds I’ve ever slept on. The room was spacious. There are luggage and clothing racks and drawers for storage. If I had one negative thing to say it would be that there is no hot water in the shower. But I think that’s a Costa Rica thing bc I’ve stayed in a couple of places that also had like warm water. There walk to Puerto Viejo is too long but Alejandro is a local taxi driver and he was there for me every day when I needed a ride. Scott has his number. Call him when you want to go to town- he’s great. Marielle cooks breakfast and dinner at the hotel for a few if you don’t feel like leaving the hotel to grab anything. Hotel Casa Conley was a great place to stay
John (10/5): - Beautiful mountain view of the Caribbean, clean modern A/C rooms, great pool, friendly host, very reasonable prices.
Suzette (8/5): - Beautiful View of Ocean and Jungle! Very serene and wonderful wildlife sounds to wake up to. Owner and Staff are very nice and accommodating with helping to make your stay great! A car definitely comes in handy however it is a nice walk up and down the road ..easy access to bus stop. Great meals !..weekends only and cold water to shower which most of the time is ok. It would have been nice to have some smaller towels, a bath mat, and some kind of light by the bed. I did have to ask for more towels and toiletries as housekeeping did not come by to check. Overall a very nice place to stay and very much recommend!
Luis (10/5): - It was a great stay, the place is so quite and calm. Very clean and fresh looking. It's easy to move around and it also offers a nice swimming pool if you don't want to go out. Scott is a very friendly guy and always there for your help.
Verified traveler (6/5): Nice environment, average room - Nice place, nothing fancy. The owner is sweet and helping, the environment is nice and quite in the nature. The room itself is somewhat average: the mattress is pretty hard and in the shower you hear poeple speaking through the sink and water drowning from other showers. It's also important to know that it's not comfortable to stay there without a car.
