- Laura (8/5): Great central spot - Central location, nice ensuite room, bike storage, good share kitchen
- Natalia (5/5): Nice place to eat , not so good for stay overnight - The staff is friendly and helpful We were 3 people travelling between jobs , because we didn’t finish our jobs, we had to stay for an overnight, so I rented two rooms.
The first room the towels were smelling bad. But on the second room there was an old broken double seat sofa, that was disgusting .
Both rooms don’t provide the usual shampoo and conditioner.
Both rooms the blinds cannot be used, also we can hear the noise , from outside, unfortunately the sound wake us more than once.
The friendly staff gave me a new towel, but they can’t do much about the sofa

- Linda (7/5): Clean, quiet hostel-like accommodation - Convienient location, quiet, despite being over the pub. I liked the use of a shated kitchen to prepare breakfast and lunches. Clean and modern shared bathroom - like a hostel. The bar staff were most helpful We were unable to open the wiinow in our room, so despite aircon and a fan, the room air was a bit stuffy..
- Melissa Henshaw (10/5): - I liked how relaxed it was. Loved sitting on the balcony at night & to watch the Anzac Day March Had to walk around the other side of building for ladies showers & toilet (especially when it was night)

- Indrani (7/5): Worth your money if you are loser ibto outdoor activities and use the place to rest up. - Very friendly staff and close proximity to main area. Clean room. Large parking lot. But far from beach, buts okay if you are driving. Slightly noisy at night due to the bar, still not a big deal.
- Leah (7/5): Good value for money - Value
Locations
Courtesy bus Beds weren’t very comfortable
- Jason (5/5): -

- Pope (10/5): -
- Carl (9/5): Great place to stay, close to all you need on foot - Location Bigger bed would be better
- Sijoy (10/5): - Extremely clean and tidy..So many parking slots..EV charger...Highly recommended

- Justin (7/5): Great for short stay, good value - Rooms are clean, shared bathrooms are brand new. Kitchen ok. Great for the price and for short stays All good, as expected
- Aarogya (8/5): -
- Darlington (7/5): It was what it was area lovely - Great Position very friendly and helpful staff 2 showers 2 toilets to 10 units, very small bedroom, no facilities no cupboard or draw space
- Evan (10/5): Great will stay again - Clean in a good area No kettle or coffee facilities in room

- Justin (10/5): Great spot excellent location clean rooms - Excellent Nothing
- Melissa (10/5): It was absolutely brilliant and easy! - This accommodation exceeded our expectations, it was great being above the pub and very easy to get into the property out of hours. Nothing
- Steven (7/5): Would stay again but be sure to take ear plugs next time. - The place was clean, the single beds were comfortable, the location was good and the price was very good. At a hotel like this you are at the mercy of the other guests. Unfortunately, alcohol fuelled guests didn’t show any respect to others at the hotel. Talking and having TV playing loudly until the early hours of the morning i.e. 0200 hrs
- James (3/5): Be honest about the state of disrepair of your “hotel” - Location. Wasn’t clean. Bathroom under renovation and not functional. Noisy with loud music playing until midnight.
- Sharon (10/5): Staff made u feel welcome and facility’s were perfect for what I needed - Facilities clean and freshly painted
- Steven (7/5): - Cheap and cheerful accommodation. Very good pub restaurant. A short drive to Caves Beach. Had breakfast at the Surf Club before going through the main cave, then sat in the rock pools on the other side. Excellent way to start the day. The rooms in the hotel appear to be going through a stage of renovation. Probably temporary.
- Swee (9/5): - Value for money Nothing
- Mann (5/5): -
- Shane (7/5): -
- Jireh (10/5): -
- Shelley (10/5): Great time - Easy quick clean All ok
- Emily (1/5): Not what I expected, and would not stay again. - The location was great. I felt uncomfortable as a single woman staying there. The fire evac stairs were left open by other guests so anyone could come in. Beer bottles in the bathroom. The carpet in the room was disgusting and I could hear everyone in the bathroom from my room. I found two holes in the shower wall that meant anyone in the toilet cubicle adjacent could have seen me showering. I ended up staying only one night and not the second as I felt unsafe.

- Debbie (8/5): Great for a short stay. Meals on-site. Easy parking. - Nicely renovated room and bathroom. Quite a small space but it’s a historic hotel that had an excellent total renovation. Good aircon. Good bed. Large family restaurant in the hotel with excellent food. Fan didn’t seem to work. FYI no fridge or kettle in room but it’s in the common room.
- Mark (6/5): Did not even apologise about it at the time. We had to go and ask what was going on - Very convenient No hot water on Christmas and Boxing Day morning
- Lucille (5/5): -
- Angel Javier (8/5): -
- Angelito (8/5): -
- katja (9/5): -
- Sarah Anne (1/5): - Location No blinds and had two spotlight in window all night so no sleep
No bins anywhere in room
Wasn't offered clean towels at all
No hot water available in my room
- Jamie (7/5): -
- Amanda (5/5): Pleasant - Bed was comfortable, tv reception was great with ample channels. Pub itself is newly renovated which looks great, food is awesome. Balcony light was on all night it was like we kept the room light on the entire evening; made it extremely difficult to sleep, even with the blinds closed. Women’s toilet didn’t have any spare toilet paper. Also didn’t realise we could exit in the morning through the pub as the doors were closed; we ended up going all the way around the building to get to the car, explanation on arrival about entry and exit would be helpful.
- Danh (7/5): Good except late auto play music. - Excellent location Music was auto set to play during day and night until 3am weekdays. It should not interfere the customer's 'rest sleep. 11 or midnight cut off is better. I have stayed at the hotel many times in the past. However this time is very different after a big renovation and my experience was a bit uncomfortable.
- Gabrielle (5/5): It's practical and good if you are the adventure type. - It served the purpose and close to everything. Not much in our room, just beds, table, 2 chairs.
- Kari Anne (9/5): Newly renovated pub, great place to stay on a budget. - The room was spacious, extremely clean, modern, did not smell like a pub, was not noisy(esp since we stayed on a Thur & Fri night), bed was comfortable, good price, friendly staff, outdoor dining area is amazing. Probably the most boring Asian salad I’ve ever eaten, but the ribs were AMAZING, so that made up for the awful salad.
- Kevin (10/5): -
- Gary (8/5): Will certainly stay again. - Clean and tidy and excellent location. No wash basin in room.
- Sue (7/5): Short, but enjoyable stay - Loved the renovation, new carpet, few little things to do. Meal was great, beer was cold, parking great, staff helpful and friendly.Great atmosphere. Only problem is the traffic noise in the front rooms, making it difficult to get to sleep, otherwise great .
- Christian (8/5): -
- Shannon (6/5): -
- Lyn (6/5): -
- Nevan (7/5): Great spot if you’re not expecting too much. - On arrival, Noah on the front desk was brilliant. He gave us a full run down on how everything went and he’s quite good at pulling a decent beer.
Bistro also had really good food. Not so much we didn’t like it, but there is renovations going on. And from what I could tell there was only one bathroom for men and one for women.
The men had one shower and once cubical. Not too sure about the ladies. Also there were some empty beer bottles in the men’s shower. Was there the 3 days we were so not sure how often there are cleaned.
- Margaret (9/5): - Great location excellent room good value enjoyed Wednesday special of schnitzel close to water safe Would have liked more time to explore the area
- Paul (7/5): Great value for your money - Always value for money
Ensuite rooms are great
Clean but basic
Staff are accommodating and helpful Doing a lot of renovations at the moment
Which is stated on there Website
Condensers for the aircon are quite noisy
Close to the room which i stayed Which is a issue which should definitely be looked at
But overall have stayed there on many occasions and will be back for a cold beer down stairs
- CourtneyJV (6/5): Happy overall - The location and good value. Staff were friendly and helpful. The restaurant was good and the pub has a nice outdoor area. The room was basic, it had what we needed but was a bit run down and could use some renovations. Good for a couple of nights though.
- sandra (3/5): Wouldn’t stay here again - The bar & restaurant were great The room shouldn’t have been rented
- Carlos (6/5): -
- Gary (8/5): Small friendly hotel which was great value for money - Great little hotel and good value for money and the food in the bar was excellent. There was no sink in the males shared bathroom so had to use the female to clean my teath etc.
There seems to be a lot of refurbishment going on so I’m sure it will improve.
- Gretyl (5/5): -
- Amelia (7/5): - Value for money
- Jingyi (5/5): -
- David (8/5): Great budget accommodation -
- Kerry (3/5): Very old and run down and dirty. I’ve stayed in some cheap places but this was the worst ever.im staying at a different - Good central location and the bed was comfortable Nothing in the room except a bed, bedside table and a plastic chair. No fridge, no coffee making, no wardrobe, no spare blanket or pillow, not even a bin. There was only one toilet and shower for women and one for men. The communal kitchen was dirty. The fridge had half eaten plates of food in it and was dirty. No milk for coffee so I assume that wasn’t provided and yet no fridge in my room to keep it in.
- Cheryle (6/5): - Close to my destination Not having any hot water in the basin in the ladies bathroom ment I didn’t even try for a shower
- Rose (7/5): - Location for my reason for staying. Parking in the rear No tea or coffee station. Not being able to leave early in the morning to get a coffee and return to the room.
I booked a double but got a twin room
- Cartwright (3/5): - The location of swansea is good for being close to the coast and Newcastle and has good activities in and around there. Hotel is old and being updated and once complete will be Better. The rooms are all different sizes with some larger and more spacious then others, while some just fit a double bed only with a tiny bathroom and all where the same price.
Shared facilities where not that and only used by the trades
Shared bathroom and showers not accessible cause where under constructure
Overall the rooms should be different prices and some not offered at all until all repairs compete.
Beware of your stay as other places are better for the same cost or a little more money
- Shannon (3/5): -
- Melinda (7/5): The pub was terrific and the accommodation above was very convenient. Would stay again. - Location was good, staff were great and the hotel food etc was really good Room could have been a little more set up. Understand renovations are continuing, but a few improvements would have been terrific. bathroom was lovely and modern, but needs a bin. The sofa needs to be replaced. And new blinds on the windows. We did feel safe and secure and I would stay again.

- Bkham9 (8/5): Food ❤️ Renovations 👎 - Location, Bistro & Staff were the highlights.
Located walking distance from everything.
The food, I had the classic snitty, was amazing 👏
Staff were welcoming and super helpful.
The Room at the first glance, was amazing. Large in size and looked updated. Is under construction !!
The eye sore of renovations, the noise, the workers...
The room had no mini fridge, so nowhere to store medication or water.
The lounge was stained and damaged.
No bins in the room for general rubbish.
Blinds did not close properly, so workers and the sun could peer through.
Bed was OK, but being under the window was very drafty.
