- Stay39377135323 (10/5): Outstanding customer service! - My wife and I recently stayed at this property for 4 nights, and experienced some of the best customer service we’ve ever had at a hotel! Maddie and Ray at the bar were very welcoming and informative, and really made us feel like family. Alba at the front desk was very professional and courteous. But our biggest shoutout goes to Ashley at the front desk, who bent over backwards to accommodate our very unorthodox reservations situation! The suite itself was very clean, spacious, and comfortable. We plan to return, and will tell our family and friends about our wonderful experience there!

- semma2007 (8/5): Great Location, Clean Room - Stayed for a week while visiting Charleston for pleasure. (Disclaimer: I paid with points as a frequent traveler.) Pros Great location. No need for a car, walking distance to several of the free city bus lines or <$10 Uber to all the popular sights/restaurants around the city. There is no where to park in the city anyway. The hotel charges $39/night to park. Rooms are clean and have daily housekeeping available. Breakfast is included. (Many hotels are slowly dropping breakfast recently) Fast elevators. Cons Pillows are like sacks of cement. Maybe a personal thing, but both my wife and I hated them. Mattress was comfortable. Evening reception was an embarrassment to the hotel. Two six by twelve inch boards of 50% broccoli, some salami , cheder cheese and bagel chips. The amount was about what I would put out for a party of four at home. The boards were empty within fifteen minutes and we never saw them refilled. Overall a good stay considering you are in a popular city.

The hotel is within walking distance of the Center where you can board a free city bus to downtown. We were also within walking distance from many restaurants and historical attractions.

- Foodiemia (6/5): Walking distance to most sites and restaurants but dated rooms - We stayed here for two nights in December 2025. Being a Homewood Suites we didn’t expect any type of refinement, etc. The staff was very curteous and kind. The location is ideal for Charleston if you are willing to walk half an hour. Room and hallways felt very much used/ abused. The carpets, draperies and room sofa are in serious need of replacement. There was nothing special about the breakfast, usual rehydrated eggs and an array of unhealthy breads, bacon/sausage, and pastries Unfortunately, after the breakfast hours the complimentary coffee was always cold. Rates are pretty high for a Homewood Suites and then there is the need to park which adds a hefty valet charge to the bill. It’s unfortunate that Hilton has downgraded Homewood Suites for Hilton members, giving half the amount of points it once did. I think the price should reflect this change.

- leroythelab (10/5): Great weekend stay - What an excellent hotel! Location is great as it is in between King and Meeting Streets. Steps away from shopping and dining. Hotel staff was very friendly. Nice hotel bar with reasonably priced drinks. Breakfast was delicious! Valet parking was a good price for the area and they were very quick with service.

Loved having the separate sitting area with sofa. The entire property was well kept ands the staff friendly and accommodating. Good location. Definitely would recommend and return again.

- F4963TOjenc (10/5): Fabulous Stay & Fabulous Staff - I had a lovely 3 day stay with my two sisters. Great location, and easy to get to everything in the historic district. We got adjoining rooms which were spotless and spacious. The staff is incredibly kind and helpful making sure your stay in Charleston is wonderful. We especially enjoyed Kay who checked us in, and Karen Mitchell who gave us great recommendations and made sure we were happy with our accommodations . We’ll be back!

- Natalia (5/5): It was ok, but I wouldn’t stay there again. - Good location The worst thing was the smell in the room. Some kind of damp dusty smell mixed with chemicals. It hits your nose right away once the door is open. You get used to it after 10-15 minutes spent in the room but I’m sure it was the reason for my allergies. Breakfast wasn’t tasty at all. I couldn’t find anything I’d want to eat there. Even coffee was super diluted.

This was a win-win-win all weekend long. We will stay here again and more importantly look for a Homewood when we are searching Hotels.com

All was very helpful with transportation information and tour options. My only complaint is the tv options in the evening! No cable which shocked me! It’s 2025 I couldn’t believe there was no Netflix or HBO options! Funny because the other Homewood suites offer cable ! That’s my only complaint. Bravo to the crew.. they made the visit worthwhile!
- U8015UVem (4/5): Left my chain on towel rack and cleaning person didn’t “find it” - I left my gold chain necklace on top of the towel rack in the bathroom and called the next day to see if they found it and if I could get it. They kept saying there was nothing in the lost and found and to make a report online. I’m 100000% sure I left it there and the maid who cleaned the room after I checked out obviously had to replace the towels on the rack and seen the chain I left there yet nothing was found..right. What comes around goes around. God bless whoever found it and didn’t report it and just kept it, unfortunate.
- Amy (6/5): Great location, hotel could do better. - The location of this hotel is perfect. Easily walk to King Street and all of the popular spots in Downtown Charleston. I also liked that they offered breakfast, which helped save time and money. Housekeeping was prompted and cleaned our room daily. The fresh citrus water in the lobby was a nice way to come back everyday. Our room smelled very musty and moldy, so much so that my entire family had stuffy noses when we left. Our room also smelled sour. I did hear a dog barking, so I think they put us on a pet friendly floor, but they did not let us know that ahead of time. The beds were extremely uncomfortable and the blankets/comforters were very thin, we had to use the extra blanket from the closet. We turned a blind eye to a lot of this as our location was great but I think this would make me look for something else in the future.
- beccap794 (10/5): Would Stay Again - We stayed last month with our two kids and overall had a great experience. The room was perfect—super clean and well-functional. It was particularly nice to have the ability to close the door to the bedroom, allowing the kids to sleep peacefully while we moved around the living room and kitchen without waking them. The full-size fridge was a huge plus, and housekeeping did a wonderful job throughout our stay. The breakfasts were nice, but we did notify the staff that some of the milk cartons were spoiled, yet they continued to serve them, and we ended up with another spoiled carton later on. Most of the staff were fantastic, though we had a few unusual encounters. The pool was great for the kids, which was a highlight for us. The elevator broke down one day, but they were quick to get it fixed same-day. Ice machines were a bit hit-or-miss One downside was the parking situation, which was truly terrible. Despite these issues, the hotel was so wonderful that we would likely stay again!

- 592treet (2/5): Hilton vs Happiness - Checking into the hotel was easy with the electric key code. Sharing the code was a bit much having to download the app and type in all new information. Our first room wasn't satisfactory. The box springs were noisy when you move on them, and when you sit on them. Room 306. We move to another room 506 on the same side of the hotel, just 2 floors up. The ceiling fan didn't work in the bedroom, the smell of MILDEW hits you soon as you walk into the room. The shower head was loose from its foundation. I started to get a headache that wouldn't go away. My lady made sure I was comfortable has possible. But started to feel bad because this hotel was part of a birthday present for me. Sadden by the experience she started to cry. We consoled each other knowing we have each other no matter what. The remote control was missing for the living room television. Thankfully, the remote controlled both televisions. And to make things not ao much better, the view of a worn out parking lot, abandon building, and over pricing for valet parking didnt help. $27 dollars to park across the street all day at Palmetto Parking. $40 a day to valet park at the hotel. Dowsnt make sense. We decided to leave the hotel and come back home. It wasn't worth wasting any more money at this hotel.

- newtrackduq (10/5): Wonderful Hotel for our Family Reunion - We had a lovely 3 night's stay at this hotel in July 2025. My family and I stayed here for our family reunion. The hotel staff were easy to work with and helped us to make this an enjoyable and memorable trip to Charleston. The hotel was in a great central downtown location which allowed us to walk around quite easily to many of the city's attractions. Other highlights included the free morning breakfast (better than expected), and the kindness of the hotel staff. The hotel gym and outdoor pool were also nice amenities at this hotel. We also had access to free coffee and tea throughout the day as well as a nice surprise of complementary champagne one afternoon. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to Charleston and it is also good for groups that are having a small event. We had a banquet for apx 40 people in their event space. Their catered food was excellent and the room was perfect for our group! Thank you Homewood Suites by Hilton Charleston Historic District!
- LoveToTravel4000 (10/5): We had the BEST experience celebrating our 30th anniversary! - We have been going to Charleston regularly for almost 30 years, so it was a perfect place to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary! We stayed at the Homewood Suites in the Historic District on Meeting Street, and it was perfect. Justin Martin checked us in and gave us the most fabulous customer service during our entire stay. We can't recommend him enough! Our room was clean and spacious, the dining area is open has plenty of seating, and the pool was super relaxing. Justin got us connected with a place where we could rent beach lounge chairs by the hour so we could have a day at the beach, and then we renewed our vows on Morris Island after chartering a private boat with Captain Barney of Deep Creek Charters. We did the Culinary Tour downtown too, so it was a magically perfect trip! Thank you to Justin and the staff at the Homewood Suites for making this such a special memory!

- Mariana (4/5): Disappointing room and not worth the money. - Nice lobby and well kept gym/pool The room itself was disappointing. Bathroom shower tub had a lot of mold on it. Clearly nobody bothered to clean it. Furniture was ripped up and had bad odor. Weird red stains on the carpet between the beds. This is the worst Homewood suites I’ve been to. The room was not worth the price I paid for considering the location.

- nomcq5 (2/5): Unclean room/ mattress pad. - Stayed in this hotel with my daughters,for one night unfortunately it was an unpleasant experience. We had a room with a king size bed, and a pullout couch. When we opened the pullout couch up upon arrival in the room, we noted that there was a brown/reddish stain on the mattress pad. Placed a call to the reception to have the pad changed and have the mattress replaced. Maintenance – housekeeping came up and said they did not have any new mattresses available. We asked to be reassigned a new room and were assured that this would happen by the receptionist. Upon our return later in the evening.. We were told that we did not get a new room as they were none available. . After much discussion with the young gentleman on reception, he brought over the supervisor who gave us a new room immediately ( this pull out couch had a used napkin on the mattress). In the meantime, the lobby was chaotic, with the police arriving to do a safety check and phones ringing off the hook. All in all disappointing experience at this Hilton hotel. Very poor management, manager has not returned numerous phone calls or emails.

Sehr freundliches, hilfsbereites Personal. Frühstück entsprechend USA eben, aber alles da. In der Nähe der King Street, man kann alles zu Fuß erreichen. Klimaanlage angenehm. Der Valet Mitarbeiter ist ein sehr positives Beispiel, wie es sein soll. Wir waren viel zu kurz da.
