• Iwona (1/5): - Nothing at all. This place is not a hotel; it is a location that preys on the fear and lack of safety of its guests. I felt very unsafe during my stay. In the middle of the night, I heard terrifying sound effects and could clearly hear mechanical door locks clicking and being manipulated in the corridor. Since this building also houses a horror Escape Room, it was impossible to distinguish between a real threat and "entertainment." NO ONE INFORMED ME that such activities take place here. As a security professional, I find it unacceptable that guests are exposed to such psychological distress and sounds of door interference without any warning. It was a terrifying experience, not a place for rest.

Bowling alley and table soccer in a Hotel was a first 🙌 Check-in was quick and easy Considering there was a large group of us staying, the Kitchen weren’t prepared for us, staff-wise on Friday night. The room was ice-cold the first night, and there was no way to turn down the AC, and the radiator didn’t come on.

Super net personeel. Wij hadden ook twee fietsen gehuurd alles netjes geregeld. Ook hadden we een drankje gedaan en in de brasserie er naast zelfs dat was perfect. Ook even gekeken naar het menu prijs kwaliteit is boven verwachting. Echt een aanrader . En ontbijt gewoon super alles aanwezig Beetje gedateerd. Maar niet erg alles was schoon en netjes.

• Frieda (9/5): Comfortabel verblijf in rustige omgeving. - Ruime, klassieke kamer. Goed bureau en zitje met fijne stoelen. Prima bed. Heel rustige omgeving. Goed ontbijt. De keycard moest een paar keer opnieuw geactiveerd worden. Verder misten we in de badkamer tissues en in de kamer een spiegel.

Mail aan het hotel: Voordat wij een recensie plaatsen op Booking.com willen wij u mededelen dat airco op de kamer onduidelijk vermeld staat bij de boeking en zeer verwarrend is! Ik heb dat ook verteld aan de baliemedewerkster en die zou het doorgeven. Het geval is dat mijn vrienden een kamer hadden geboekt met airco en ik had dat naar mijn weten ook geboekt omdat er bij de kamerdetails airconditioning stond! Nu blijkt dat dat maar bij enkele kamers is maar dan moet je dat er niet bij zetten. Ook dat er een bad en douche staat vermeld en dat we alleen maar een douche hadden. Gelukkig hadden we een kamer op de begane grond en viel de warmte mee, we konden ook geen kamer met airco krijgen want die zaten vol. Mijn punt is dat het zeer onduidelijk wordt vermeld en jullie dat makkelijk kunnen veranderen om verwarring te voorkomen. Voor de rest was het een prima verblijf. Bovenstaande gemaild naar het hotel maar ik kreeg als antwoord dat ze afhankelijk zijn van de mogelijkheden wat booking.com biedt. Dit vind ik een onbevredigend antwoord want ze verschuilen zich achter booking.com, ze doen daar zaken mee. Dan moet je ook bieden wat er staat! Jammer..
• francesca (1/5): You can do better. - Breakfast was good. You can do better. The manager explained the cause of our challenges was “Murphy’s Law”. Fair enough. But I heard nothing about how new policies or training would avert the situations. Will water be served on request to paying guests in the future? Apparently since the perception is Dutch people want something like water for nothing, no one should expect water. Unless out of the bathroom taps). Will soap be refilled in shower and sink? (Apparently, one will suffice). Will coffee be refilled?(sure when they get to it). Mind you this is a not a budget hotel. Our rooms were €200, our dinner €100.
• frankiebeer (2/5): Better off anywhere else - I’m so disappointed in this hotel and restaurant. I’ve been spending the last month at hotels in the Netherlands and found them all fabulous. This is the first one that has left me with a bitter taste. Let me tell you why. First, you are aware that there is a heat wave. Why would you place a guest in a room without air conditioning when you have those rooms available? It would be one thing to ask for more money, but to not offer it up seems lacking. Second there was no soap in the shower or bathroom. Surely there should be some standard of housekeeping to keep basic supplies. Third we ordered many drinks and courses at the restaurant. Clearly there is a sensitivity in your country and hotel for the environment. Yet when we asked for tap water we were given a half glass and told that was above and beyond what you typically offer. Our waitress explained that is standard policy in the Netherlands. Obviously, your staff has not gone to any other hotel or restaurant in your lovely country. Because that is just not standard policy anywhere that we have visited. I wonder if your staff is allowed drinking water during their work hours. I think your management needs to read that story you print on the menu about Dirk Willemz. “We daily take Dirk as an example in our Hospitality profession where we put the importance of our guests on a higher level instead of our own!”

• Jeffrey (2/5): - By far the oldest and most unkept hotel I had to stay in during my time in NL. Only hotel I refused to shower in as it was just well, “neglected”. Very old and unkept. Seemed nobody has used that room in ages. Bathroom was filthy, shower had black marks all around the edges. Tiles had water/ soap marks all over it. Just an unkept and dirty room that’s all. Only place I refused to shower.

• Karin (10/5): - We hadden een concert in Rotterdam en de volgende dag gingen we naar Amersfoort. De schildkamp lag mooi halverwege de route. Ik was mijn pijnmedicatie vergeten. Na het concert had ik overal pijn. In het hotel heb ik een heerlijke douche genomen en ben daarna als een blok in slaap gevallen. Echt een heerlijk bed en goeie douche. De volgende dag hadden we ook nog een ontbijt. Echt lekkere opties en heerlijk vers.

The tea/ coffee facilities were 80m away through two fire doors and a lift to get a small paper cup of coffee, making it impossible to take back to my room.

The rooms are spacious and the bedsheets were adequate for the season, we slept very well. The location of this hotel is pretty far from any amenities close by. • Michel (8/5): A really nice hotel for your stay in this part of Holland. - overall the service was pretty good from the majority of the staff. Our room was a good size but the beds were not that comfortable. Although there were no coffee or tea facilities in the room there was a machine available on the ground floor for all to use, but not great when you have just got up and have to traipse downstairs for your first cuppa!! We had great service in the restaurant (apart from Saturday night) and the food was excellent. As above - we did experience really bad service (food was still excellent) on Saturday night as the restaurant seemed to lack staff and those that were there were more intent on serving a table of 16 than our table of 7!!
