Guest Reviews
- Daphne (8/5): -
- Nicole (5/5): It was sufficient - The staff was friendly and greeted us every time we came or went. It was easy to get to the UofSC campus. Overall it was very worn. There was a cockroach enjoying the bathroom. We are hoping we didn't take him home. We ran out of tissues and were almost out of toilet paper so we asked for more. It was not brought to us that day. The next day, we had to go ask a second time and have them hand the items directly to us. They also never came to check the rooms or empty garbage, we were there for 5 days. We didn't need the sheets changed, but fresh towels, without asking, on the 3rd day would have been nice.
- Alyssa (1/5): - Nothing The pictures of this hotel is very deceiving. Our bedroom and bathroom were not properly cleaned in the hotel had a very awful smell.
- John (10/5): Very good - Great hotel, very clean and comfortable. Would recommend.
- La Sandra Jennings-Sabik (8/5): -
- Thompson (7/5): It was a great value for Columbia especially for the location. - Breakfast was good and the seating was convenient. I usually use Splenda in my coffee, not regular sugar, it was fine though.
- Emily (1/5): You get what you pay for! - The location and staff were friendly It was a dump. Very dirty, holes in the doors and there was a banging noise outside of my room.
- Racquel (1/5): It was horrible. - Location Room had cracks in the ceiling, and on the table. The air unit was damaged as well.
- Daniel (8/5): -
- Michael (10/5): -
- Rebecca (4/5): I was very dissapointed, the room pictures online are from the place we stayed in and I would not recommend this place t - The staff were all very nice!! The pictures of the rooms that are online are not pictures of the room we stayed in. It was not very clean. There were hairs in the bed. The entire place had a horrible smell like incense or something similar. The staff was very nice and the hotel was not far from the Colonial Life Arena where we had tickets but that’s the only good thing I can say about this this place!!
- John (10/5): Very good - Great hotel, very clean and comfortable. Would recommend.
- Rachel (1/5): -
- VoxPatoku (7/5): - Overall everything. The AC was on warm but still blowing out cold air that's pretty much it.
- Miguel (10/5): -
- Alan (7/5): - Was better than what the reviews said Bathroom looked like previous person used blue hair dye
- Mike (9/5): -
- Mccolroy (9/5): I really enjoyed my stay at your hotel - I really like the room, bed and the entire room setting. The Breakfast arrangement. Little bit poor
- Antonio (1/5): Horrible - N/A The stay was horrible. The place is dirty with slack housekeeping. I changed rooms three times. The first time trash was all over the floor . The second room sheets on the bed were dirty . The last room was better but didn’t have any towels or wash towels. I requested a refund but wasn’t able to get that either .
- courtney (10/5): everything we needed at low cost. don’t expect anything extravagant but it was a great stay for the price. - we were there for the Clemson/Carolina game and it was very close to the stadium so we could avoid traffic/parking. Front desk clerk was attentive and welcoming. only thing we didn’t like was the shower lol, the shower head was basically duct taped to stay together and the shower wall was missing the other sliding piece making water splash on the floor when you showered. however water was hot and bathroom/room
itself was pretty clean.
- Denis (10/5): -
- Brandi (10/5): -
- Charles (1/5): -
- Mitaly (5/5): Unpleasant, will not go back. - The location was good because we wanted to be close to the stadium. The room itself wasn’t bad but the bathroom was really dirty. Towels had stains, shower tile was dirty. Holes in the wall, others were really poorly patched.
- Michael (3/5): You Get What You Pay For - It was super cheap and close to the stadium. This was the sketchiest hotel I’ve ever slept in in this country. The door had a hole in it from a knob that had been replaced. There was a spot of dried blood on one of the pillowcases. The hallway smelled like mildew.
- Katelyn (3/5): Scary - Location and the price The first room we were given had no sheets and the pillows had brown spots on them. Weird liquid on the floor and back of bathroom door. Toilet moved, not secure. Second room was better but still not the cleanest. No water pressure in shower. At 2am someone opened our door, thank god I had the deadbolt secured or they would’ve just came in. Woke us up terrified and we considered leaving right then. Whoever it was went down the hall opening more doors to more rooms with a master key.
- frank (1/5): Horrible and filthy - The worst hotel I have ever been to. It's a filthy, old, poorly maintained building, broken locks, AC not working and stinks everywhere. I literally had to check out the same night. Don't book unless you want to get sick
- allison (10/5): - Close to the fair grounds Nothing
- Nicole (1/5): I checked out early and got another hotel - The room had things wrong and wasn’t cleaned
- Drecilla (6/5): - Location to Williams Brice Rooms could have been cleaner and repaired better
- Laura (6/5): - The property was all together clean the water pressure on the second floor was really bad water barely comes out took me forever to get shampoo out of my hair.
- Anjanette (4/5): - Room was dirty and needed repairs. I don't think surfaces were wiped down from previous guests. We saw a few German cockroaches.
Desk staff was super friendly and sweet.
- Cathleen (4/5): - Although the room seemed to have new carpeting. The walls had several holes and patched holes. The air conditioning unit was dirty and very noisy. The continental breakfast was a bowl of cereal. The lobby areas were poorly painted and there was trash around the exterior of the building. At least the sheets were clean.
- Jamal (10/5): -
- Maneka (5/5): It was ok but the place need to be updated - It was close to down town It needs to be up graded
- Ada (2/5): A hot mess - I had a dead baby roach in the bathroom and the ceiling in the shower looked like it was about to fall down and on the other end of the shower the paint was peeling
- Adams (1/5): - I didn't like anything about this hotel
- Reed (10/5): -
- Reed (10/5): -
- debbie (3/5): This hotel is a good choice for people going to stadium events but quality is substandard. - The staff was very nice and tried to be accommodating. The AC in our first room was not working and we were moved to a different room without having to ask.
There was a breakfast "area" but no room. They did offer make your own waffles, cereal and yogurt, coffee. The overall sense of cleanliness is poor. It is an old hotel that needs a lot more love and care. The water pressure was very poor, the hot water was limited, toilet paper holder, towel rack were falling off of the wall. There is only a window shade to cover the window opening and the bright lights from the hotel sign were shinning into the room at night. The trash is placed at the back door in piles, no trash can. The AC in our second room was minimal at best. The bed frame was filthy. It appears the cleaning crew does the essentials but there is no deep cleaning.
- Jon-Michael (8/5): - Clean room and good service. It’s not a luxury hotel but they don’t portray themselves as such, and it is priced affordably. Would stay again
- Petranto (1/5): -
- Laura (8/5): - This is an older property that could use a little cosmetic love, but the staff is extremely friendly and helpful! The property was just what we needed and was very affordable for a USC football weekend. This made a potentially very expensive weekend much more affordable, and, therefore, more enjoyable and stress free. Also, conveniently located near Williams-Brice Stadium.
- karla (4/5): - Room had a foul odor to it. Entire facility is in need of a facelift.
- Changus (4/5): Spend the extra money, its not worth the savings - The room was a 2, the shower water pressure was so low it felt like taking a shower in the rain. You also have to "request" that they clean your room. The breakfast options are cofffee or old cereal. It smelled of old socks throughout the Inn. Also the air conditioner face was on the floor. I was scared to touch it in case it stopped working. The staff spoke but weren't very friendly. I learned trying to save a buck on accommodations is not worth the buck you save. Its a thumbs down for me.
- Donna Smoak (8/5): the stay here was good with no issues, thank you to Sal who helped check in go smooth and secure! - time here was smooth thanks to the front desk supervisor, room was clean and had fridge/microwave which was needed the pictures were not match to the room, breakfast only had one hot option
- Elizabeth (1/5): NEVER stay here. Do not give them your business. - Tiara at the front desk. We had to change rooms 3 times. The ac wasnt working in 2 of the rooms. The ceiling was falling apart. The ac units were falling apart. The front of them in 2 rooms were off when we came in the room. There was a dead roach in the hallway. It was the worst experience we have ever had. We will NEVER stay here again. We couldn't checkout fast enough.
- Kendra (10/5): - Great staff
- Traci (6/5): Closest hotel to stadium - Staff was very friendly. About a 20 min walk to William Brice Stadium. Carpet was sticky. Shower had very low water pressure. Mini fridge did not work. They changed our room and the toilet did work. Changed to another room and that toilet didn’t work either. Put us back in original room and moved a working fridge in. In all 3 rooms AC cover was broken and duct taped on.
- John (2/5): - Tv only had 1 channel, air conditioner fought to cool room, one of my towels was dirty when unfolded, small roaches, door lock battery dead, had to complain to everyone who worked there to get battery changed.
- Bria (4/5): - First off…I want to start by saying the receptionist was amazing! If it wasn’t for her (Tiara)….we probably would have chosen to find a different hotel.
We came for a Carolina game and chose this hotel due to location and walking distance to the stadium. The first room that we had smelled of cigarettes. We decided to not make a big deal of it since we were just there to sleep after the game and wouldn’t be spending a lot of time there. When we got back from the game and went to go to bed…we realized the AC and tv were not working. We did get moved to another room…which had a working tv and ac unit… it came with its own other set of problems. The bathroom door was off the hinges and you had to lift the door up to close the bathroom door. There was a hole in the wall of the bathroom wall where there should have been a toilet paper holder. The “blind” was very thin letting in tons of light and the blackout curtains wouldn’t shut. Overall, the hotel was run down. There was an ac unit in the front “lobby” that was dripping and had a bucket underneath it to catch the water and Paint chipping off the walls.
Staff was friendly but never again will I stay there. The convenience of the walk to William’s Bruce stadium was not worth it. I would rather take my chances with traffic.
- Scottiana (8/5): - Okay stay
- Marcus (4/5): Motel 1 - There is nothing amazing about this hotel except it's location. The room door barely closed, breakfast was yogurt and cereals, my air conditioner was louder than the tv. This is basically just a roof..
- Chen-Lin (6/5): Mr. - The room is basically clean but there is the smoke smelling in the first room and the there are problems of room keys to unlock for the second room and the room keys expired two times during the stay in the third room.
- Shinader (10/5): - Was ok
- Verified traveler (8/5): Needs some maintenance, but still good value - Staff is friendly, amenities are nice - fridge, microwave in room, HBO, nice thick curtains to block outside light. I wasn't expecting breakfast, but they had small yogurt cups in a mini fridge in the common area - and milk, oj, and coffee. Can't complain for the price.
Only downside was my bathroom. Toilet paper holder missing/broken off wall. Toilet seat had a bolt missing, so it slid around... and saw 2 roaches by the mirror when I first flipped on the light. Ceiling in bathroom peeling a bit. Nothing that can't be fixed w/ some maintenance - and I only stayed one night, so didn't bother me enough to try to switch rooms (they were full anyway)
- Michael (2/5): - DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL!!!!!!! Manager Employees spy on guest. Beware of Rooms 108, 109, 205, 310.
- Talbert (6/5): - Pretty run down looking.
- Tracy (10/5): -
- Tarik (10/5): - Great stay
- Ben (7/5): decent, needs to be updated - good for a one night stay for a student/couple rooms are old
- Adrien (7/5): Cheap and Affordable - Its close to everything and its cheap the hole in the wall behind the curtain, but its cheap so i dont really care
- Cobb (3/5): -
- Aleeya (10/5): - Stay was comfortable. Check in was quick and easy. Located in a good spot.
- Juan (3/5): - Nada Todo
- Shamoni (2/5): - The stay was terrible, first we got there the receptionist at the front desk didn’t know anything.i booked two rooms for two nights the room I was staying toilet nor tv worked at all, asked the receptionist to switch rooms we did then the second room wasn’t any better so I just asked for a refund for the 2nd room and for the 2nd night we checked in at 2 a.m. and checked out from the hotel at 5 a.m. then the gentleman at the front desk argued about it with my aunt thinking we were asking to be refunded for both rooms and both nights when I shut had said that one room and one night, service was horrible receptionist was horrible just terrible try to avoid that hotel at all cost!!!!!!
- Linda (2/5): Roaches and no AC - Roaches and no AC. They offered ti move me to another room but after walking into 3 other rooms that smelled so bad of cigarette smoke I decided to leave and find and different hotel. This place is disgusting
- Carrie (1/5): Roaches! - How close it was to where I needed to be The train horn going off at 11pm, the roaches crawling in the bathroom and by the bed, the whole room smelling of smoke and insence. The "breakfast" sits out all day every day. The holes in the walls, the bathroom ceiling flaking and falling in the floor. I could go on.
- Kucia (7/5): Good -
- Belle (6/5): - We won't choose this hotel as it was dirty and smelled of smoke. It was outdated as well
- Dangelo (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lindsey (2/5): - If I Could Give This Place Negative Stars, I Would. Where do I even begin? Let’s start with Nick, the night staff member who clearly missed his calling as a prison guard. From the moment we walked in, he looked at us like we had just interrupted his sacred duty of doing absolutely nothing. No greeting. No smile. Just a face full of irritation like we had personally ruined his evening by daring to check in to the hotel we PAID for.
But wait—it gets worse. When we had to come back and dispute a charge for a room we never even checked into, Nick didn’t just brush us off—he yelled at us. Loud, rude, and completely out of line. It was shocking, rude, and downright unprofessional. If you’re looking for customer service, go literally anywhere else. Now let’s talk about the hotel itself. The photos online must be from another planet—or at least another decade—because the place looks NOTHING like what’s advertised. It’s located in a sketchy area where you’ll want to keep your doors locked at all times. Bonus points for those of you who bring extra door locks to put on. The parking lot is a disaster, uneven and poorly lit, and I wouldn’t be surprised if roaches were planning their own family reunion out there. Inside? It smelled like ten cans of bounce that a** marinated in mildew and disappointment. The AC barely worked, the shower had no door (seriously?), and the floor felt like it hadn’t been cleaned since 2000. The WiFi Completely useless.
- Nick (10/5): - Overall enjoyed my short stay here, the room was cool for sleeping in a cozy bed and the shower was hot, I had everything I needed including a refrigerator. Staff at the front was friendly, had a limited selection for breakfast, but it included coffee; sugar and 2% milk so I was happy.
- Sorie (8/5): - Customer service was great
- Micheal (9/5): Superb -
- Laquashus (8/5): Very good -
- Demetrius (8/5): - It’s good chill spot
- Raul (2/5): - The AC in the room wasn’t working as good, bathroom was dirty and toilet didn’t even work properly.
- Zamari (10/5): Exceptional -
- Zeb (2/5): - Terrible
- Denique (1/5): Bad - Nothing at all Customers service and a lot of inconveniences
- Denique (1/5): Bad -
- Lysander (8/5): Very good -
- Charles (4/5): - The location was in a half remodeled state of disrepair. People riding bicycle with backpacks through the parking lot throughout the night. Mold in the shower and sticky floors
- Devon (6/5): - Very friendly/helpful staff.
While you could tell they have put work into making this hotel better, there were several basic maintenance issues that need addressed.
The AC filter was dirty, the cover to the filter was laying on the floor, and the shower was missing the caulking at the base.
- Yolanda (2/5): Creepy men hanging around/live there - The carpet desperately needs cleaning smells awful has to turn the air on 63 to try and overpower the carpet. Toilet needed cleaning toilet seat broke. Creepy men hanging in hallway. One guy followed my daughter to car. After my daughter returned from a night out with friends same guy was waiting upstairs by the elevator when the elevator door opened. Just so happened we share locations and had already went downstairs to meet her at the hotel entrance. The look of surprise when she and I stepped off the elevator together. He had to be watching for her vehicle to return. Never ever staying there again.
- Heather (3/5): Disgusting - The staff was very friendly the toilet didn't work the air was half way working n being held together with duct tape then I got switched to another room cause of the toilet and got moved to room 203 the air worked here but the toilet paper holder fell off the wall n hit my foot and then the was a cockroach in the shower and a dead one in the floor n I just felt like the accommodations where not what they were told to be and then I got woken up at 6 cause of construction they have goin on in their parking lot it was very loud and then I had to pay a 50$ deposit when I had already paid for my room I want my deposit back in full cause I didn't cause any damage and I want either a partial refund or a full refund I have pictures of the bugs n the broken toilet paper holder the only good thing was the man who worked the counter was very friendly
- Christin (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jason (10/5): - Great stay!
- Tamara (7/5): Good - The front desk worker she was very nice They didn't have good housekeeping
- Nadia (10/5): Nice and peaceful - Clean N/a
- Alandrea (6/5): - It’s a small building. Our room had no outside view due to a shield house and there was NO pool.
- Tionna (1/5): Bad -
- Tamela (10/5): - Nice people
- Wesley (2/5): - My daughter and I pulled up and it was clearly not a safe place for us to stay. People loitering outside, dirty, and absolutely nothing like the photos on Expedia. We left immediately and booked another hotel in the area. I have never "eaten" the cost of a hotel before without going in but this was the right choice.
- Martha (6/5): - The staff was very nice but the building was in definite need of repair.
- Jamison (5/5): Passable - The location 1st time I stayed the shower would stop working in the middle of the shower.
2nd time no cable
- Dustin (2/5): Very poor -
- Paulina (1/5): It smells horrible, the noise is horrible, there is no one to control it, dirty and in bad condition -
- Micheal (9/5): Superb -
