Laura (8/5): Great value for money and excellent location. Nice staff. - Highly recommend the hotel. It’s comfortable, safe, clean, staff is gentle and has an excellent location if you want to stay in a local and vibrant neighborhood, it has plenty of good restaurants, parks, and transportation nearby making it so easy to move around manhattan and visiting Willsburg and Brooklyn. We had a room with balcony which is rare for New York, this was a plus! As it’s next to an avenue we could hear a bit the noise but overall would say is correctly isolated. The air conditioning works well, the bedroom is well equipped and the bathroom accessories are good too.

Darrick (1/5): It was okay it should had been $150 for what they were offering a night. - The bed was comfortable and the location was cool. Because there was a lot in the area such as bars, different options of food places to pick from. It was not that great of a hotel for $350 a night. The room was right next to a close business. Once i pulled back the sheets that was covering the window there was a close down food place. That was a turn off.

Ilka (8/5): Super Lage um Manhattan zu besichtigen. - Täglich Kaffee, Tee und Wasser erhalten. Wasserkocher vorhanden. Zimmer mit Balkon ( hier darf auch geraucht werden) Sehr kleine Zimmer ( für New York aber groß). Zu wenig Stauraum, bei zwei großen Koffern wird es schwierig. Bekommt man aber hin, wenn man alle Schubladen nutzt 😂

Would definitely consider coming again. Definitely some wear and tear is noticeable in the hotel. Some of the sheets were torn and frayed, for example, and there weren't any reading lights, only overhead lights.

Cerca del hotel existen cafeterías, bares y "delis"por si quieres tener comida para llevar y comerla dentro del comedor que tiene el hotel. Además hay una estación del metro súper cerca sólo caminas 250 metros. La habitación tenía balcón y a pesar de estar frente a calle principal el ruido no se sentía La primer noche el aire acondicionado presentó problemas, a la mañana siguiente todo quedó solucionado cambiando la habitación sin preguntas siempre buscando la solución

Doug (5/5): Hotel with no air conditioning - Beautiful rooms The air conditioning in the building wasn't working. They had to move me from one room which was 85° to another which was 81° and I gave up my search for a cooler room at that point. At least there was air movement in the room.
Elaine (9/5): We would stay at the Allen Hotel again! - We were greeted warmly at check-in. Our room was bright and immaculate. The wood floors were beautiful and we loved all the light let in by the floor to ceiling windows. We easily set our thermostat to both heat and cool as needed. The bathroom was small but beautifully appointed with enough storage for both of us. The closet was a little small but there was plenty of other storage. All the staff were friendly, the elevator worked very well and there was beautiful Chinese art on display. We put some items in the fridge and noticed the items on the top shelf froze. Didn’t see a way to adjust. There could have been better instructions for the TV. The list of channels provided didn’t seem to match the options I found in the guide on the TV. Finding the guide was helpful once I discovered it.

Allen (3/5): Never again! Our eagerness to stay here turned to instant regret. - We picked The Allen Hotel because of the convenient location. Although we like the local neighborhood, I believe I'd opt for accommodations nearer to subway stations next time. Housekeeping is disgusting unacceptable! There appeared to be blood stains on the sheets. Upon complaint, staff claimed housekeeping had gone for the day & suggested covering the stained sheets with replacements provided by the lobby. The comforter was ripped and tattered. Furniture was falling apart. Had to go to the lobby daily to request washcloths/ hand towels. Bed firmness was comparable to sleeping on the floor. Could hear hallway movement & conversations as if the door was wide open. Bathroom was dingy and outdated.
beccaruda (8/5): A little disappointed, but I'd stay here again - I would love to rate this as excellent, but I can't quite get there. I lived in NYC for 10 years, and it's always nice to go back. I wanted to attend an off-Broadway show, and a friend recently stayed here and recommended it. He said he thought he got upgraded. (He did.) The positives: Tolerable pricing for a New York City hotel. (I stayed on Saturday and Sunday.) My King room was a decent size for NYC. The bed was comfortable. The TV worked. The bathroom / shower was clean. The location was great for my needs. They let me check in 2 hours early with no additional fee. I was aware of the fees, and the final bill was exactly what I expected. The negatives, which are fairly minor, but worth noting. My room, 101, had a wall that was almost entirely a mirror. The top couple of feet were clear, looking over the lobby, I think, then looking over another window. I could see some light, but there was no window. I did see one I thought I could open. The view was an internal staircase with cleaning supplies. I didn't really NEED a window, but I would've preferred a room with one. There wasn't much outside noise, but the squeaky elevator and other internal noises would've been very distracting if I hadn't brought a white noise machine with me. The hot water pot didn't work. I asked the woman at the desk about it. She didn't know why. Maybe they would've replaced it if I asked. I didn't. It's New York; coffee is everywhere. Nonetheless, I enjoyed my stay and would stay here again. I just wouldn't stay in this room unless it was a bargain.
Anna (6/5): Für den Preis hätte ich mehr erwartet - - Tolle Lage - freundliches Personal - große Suite - malerischer Ausblick - wir erhielten immer wieder fleckige Handtücher (wurden auf Nachfrage aber unkompliziert getauscht) - auf dem Dach war eine Abgasanlage o.ä. die konstant sehr laut und störend war, daher konnten wir nur mit Ohrstöpseln schlafen und uns nicht entspannt in der Suite aufhalten

Csaba (10/5): Jó elhelyezkedésű, kényelmes - Tágas, rendezett és tiszta szoba. A fürdő is szép, rengeteg pipereholmit kaptunk. A személyzet kedves. A szállás nagyon jó környéken van, minden jól megközelíthető gyalog. Van konditerem, szauna és gőzkabin is. A poggyászmegőrzés is hasznos volt nekünk. Nem azt a szobát adták, amit kértünk (deluxe helyett alagsori szobát kaptunk), így kilátásunk sem volt.

Paula (10/5): MEJOR HOTEL EN LOWER MANHATTAN - La ubicación es excelente para los que no estén interesados en estar en el centro ruidoso de Manhattan. Se puede llegar desde el JFK en tren y además está a pocas cuadras de varias líneas de subte troncales. Las instalaciones del hotel son MUY BUENAS, y la atención de las chicas en recepción aun mejor. Definitivamente volveremos al Allen si visitamos de vuelta NYC.

It was great for stepping outside and walking to find a good place for eating, drinks, shopping, vintage shopping, and easy access to the subway station. I also loved the room - great size space, cute & cozy, had a pretty little view of the streets.

Chambre très spacieuse, propre et confortable. Personnel serviable. Rien, mais il pourrait y avoir un peu plus de rangement dans la chambre et celle-ci pourrait être mieux insonorisée.

Elizabeth (9/5): A clean, nice Chinatown hotel that is a good value - I enjoyed my stay at the Allen Hotel. It is a great location. It's in Chinatown near restaurants and the subway. The hotel facilities are nice and kind of grand (although a bit dated) The staff were nice. The room was clean. My mid-week rate was fairly low for NYC, so it felt like a great deal. No complaints, I would happily stay here again. The lighting is harsh in the room, and one of the lights over the bed would randomly turn on and off. It felt like the light in Parasite (iykyk). The road is also quite loud, but it's NYC, so it's to be expected. Bring earplugs if you are a light sleeper.

There's nothing I felt like I needed. Everything was fantastic. I guess if there were amenities to know about, i wish i was told about them upon check in, but really, I'm just making up something not to like. I can't recommend this hotel enough

Coat hook on the wall would have been good as it’s winter and freezing outside wearing coats hats gloves etc having somewhere to hang them rather than the small wardrobe would have been good. Also the beds were very hard.

Katharine (6/5): Mostly pleasant stay - The staff members are super kind and helpful. The gym is well equipped. The heater in our room was so loud, we had to turn it off to sleep, so then it got pretty cold. Also, the bathroom had mold in the sink and shower.

272gayled (8/5): Nice experience but check the bill before you leave! - Great location to subway or walk everywhere, very clean, comfortable beds. It's a little "shabby" and small (as are all NYC hotel rooms) but perfect for 2 double beds with a view. Appreciated the little toiletries, mini fridge, water and coffee in the room. NOTE: Read your folio upon checkout, and don't leave until it's correct. I asked for the $30 a day (x 3 days) fee to be removed as we didn't use any facilities except the front door and the elevator. There was no breakfast, no mention of any "extras" at check in, so we would have never even known IF there were amenities. The desk clerk said she'd have the manager credit the $90 back to us. After many emails and phone calls, 3 weeks later a $45 credit appeared. Again, 2 more phone calls (staff was very nice and said they'd get the manager to take care of it) and now, over 2 months after my stay, still no credit of the remaining $45. So, enjoy your room, but get everything taken care (and watch the room rate as it fluctuates for no real reason) before you leave.
katepS7792SC (4/5): MOLD!!!! - issues started at check in - we got there and they said they were having issues with their key card machine & computers, and to come back in 15. we went to grab a snack, came back an ~hour later, still having issues with the key cards. all told it took about 2 hours to check in and get keys. I am also shocked that this hotel is being billed as a "sparkling newcomer" as it is worn down and filthy. the bathroom door in our room was beaten up and peeling, the bathroom was full of black mold, and the wallpaper was peeling off of the wall in the room itself in multiple locations. for ~$250 a night i dont expect luxury in Manhattan but I do expect things to be clear and in good repair. we were on the first floor which directly opens into the lobby area so you could hear all the lobby noise. hotel feels like a poorly converted assisted living facility.

Karolina (9/5): Polecamy - Personel bardzo miły, na prośbę było sprzątanie pokoju i wymiana ręczników. Do metra ok 5 min drogi, lokalizacja na plus :) Tapeta w pokoju odkleja się w kilku miejscach, klapa od deski sedesowej była ‚roztopiona’ w jednym miejscu, jakby ktoś coś gorącego na nią położył.

However the man at the reception was super helpful wehn we wanted to use the sauna. Having abalcony was a great bonus. The price for the property.
