Jane (6/5): - Upon arrival we were told that the swimming pool and slide had closed at Labor Day. We were not told this ahead of time, and my grandkids were looking forward to using them. No discount was offered. I had booked this 3 months in advance so they had plenty of time to inform me.
Martin (10/5): - My cabin was super clean. The AC worked amazing. The staff was very helpful I wish I was staying longer then just to sleep because the pool and slides looked amazing.

Cliff (6/5): - The cabin was a nice step above tent camping with a bed, a big, modern flat screen TV, Keurig coffee machine with good dark roast and other coffee pods, microwave, refrigerator, air conditioner, and heater. The bed was like sleeping on an air mattress, soft and squishy. Bathroom was conveniently located in a separate building and the shower was in the pool, hot springs area. Friendly place, and a nice area to walk around enjoying the ID air.

Stephanie (8/5): - We stayed in one of the adorable tiny cabins, and we must not have read carefully because we were surprised to find that there was no bathroom inside our little cabin. It was not a huge deal, though. We just used the facilities that were across the parking lot. They were fairly clean and overall felt pretty safe. The room was very hot initially, but the window air conditioner cooled it down pretty quickly. Really the only issues we had during the night werw the very intermittent Wi-Fi and the absolute lack of any cell service. This place is definitely off the beaten track, and it was actually nice to unplug for a night. One other possibly significant issue: the TV's reception was terrible, so accessing Netflix was difficult.The next day, we had a blast in the pools and on the water slide. The staff was super helpful, and we really appreciated the $15 food credit. Don't miss the soft serve ice cream 🙂 Overall, it was not a bad experience, especially for the price. We would do it again!
Trisha (10/5): Super fun and clean - Check in was quick, responses to needs we're efficient, enough towels for the pools and shower. The lifeguards were not friendly at all but we still had a blast at the hot springs and water slides.

Shannon (10/5): - I would go back.... we loved that the rooms are large and clean. I could not get my grandchildren out of the walk in shower with the rain shower head. Nice large pillows, which most hotels do not have along with a comfortable bed. We loved the atmosphere and hours of the pool and hot springs.
Travelfunatic (8/5): Needs some clean up - This is the melting point for the locals, adults and children alike. We were there on a Saturday and it was extremely crowded. There is a large hot tub, a swimming pool, a slide (which costs extra) and a large soaking hot pool. There are covered picnic and the area is nicely landscaped. Unfortunately, both the soaking pool and the hot tub had this greenish/black moss covering the concrete bottom and side. The soaking pool itself was quite dirty, with floating stuff. It is very slippery and I tried hard to avoid getting my face wet. We went back on Sunday, and it was quite pleasant since the majority of children were absent. The bathroom/showers were clean, but be careful of worn out rubber mats. they are easy to trip over. I asked about the cleaning of the pools and was told they do it once a week. I would have enjoyed this particular hot spring if it had been cleaner.

Jodi (6/5): Likely not twice - The young man who did my check in was less than polite. I had requested a ground floor room but was on the upper level instead. He did not offer to see if there was something available on the ground floor. The hotel does not have an elevator and I have breathing issues. I had to navigate 20 outdoor steps to reach the second floor and my room. As for the room, it was neat and clean. The floors were clean, the beds nicely made. The fridge and microwave both worked fine. The shower was quite large and worked very well. There is a sign in the bathroom about hot water stating it takes time to heat the shower water so it has to be turned on to let run for at least 10 minutes. The warning was nice so I didn't step into a cold shower. The beds were another story. Both beds were much too soft! I like a very firm mattress, rather than one I can sink into.

Very relaxing I felt refreshed and good. - This place is amazing I had a great experience I’ve been here a few times 1 time stayed in cabin that was fun, came another time and stayed in the condo and it was definitely worth the drive 3 hours. Water was an amazing spot, perfect view so pretty all the rooms were clean had all the amenities it was amazing such a vibe definitely going to stay there again maybe even the weekend.

NorthStar37085451905 (2/5): Really a health hazard and not taken care of. - This place is the most disgusting place in the area. The pools are disgustingly slimmy. There is trash every where and today the pools were FREEZING. My kids got trash and chairs out of the pool. The mold smell is awful in the dressing rooms. The place where you get dressed you can literally see through to each stall either with a hole in the wood or the cracks not being pushed together. There is a place on the front steps with rust where you’re walking and could get cut. It’s so run down and there is some creepy people just lurking there. From what I’ve gathered it’s the owners friends. The price does not reflect what you get it’s pretty awful.
Gavin (10/5): - This place is a hidden gem! Because it is not a very large resort the hot springs were never too crowded. The hotel accommodations were simple but very well maintained. The overall size and quality makes this a place everyone needs to visit when they come to Idaho.

Laurie (10/5): Family trip to Hot Springs - Family trip to hot springs. We were able to play in the hot springs upon check in, after dinner and again the next morning. Staff was friendly. Room was clean. The improvements to the facility is well done. We will be back. So relaxing to enjoy the pools and stay on property.

Brooke Muller (6/5): - Most the staff was young and very helpful. But the lobby and property did seem like a young hangout and all their buddies showed up. Unfortunately our sink leaked, I told them they got on it, unfortunately it still continued to leak. No hot water for our shower in our room, manager said to run the water 10-20 mins. Still didn’t have hot water in the hotel until late the second day. Toilet had issue flushing kept having to take the back off. It said to leave trash outside door. I ended up throwing my trash away in a larger trash can because it wasn’t picked up and I had to use a grocery bag to replace my garage with. Hot springs opened at 11am. No extra accommodations for their hotel guess. Friday and Saturday so busy with the public. Talked with multiple hotel guest they were surprised it didn’t have extra accommodation for them as well definitely not enjoyable. Would have been nice if hotel guess had the option to access the hot-springs earlier than public. Definitely will never go back or recommend unless it’s a stop thru.

Riley (6/5): Beware of Pool Hours Before Booking - We packed the family up for two days swimming at the hot springs. Unfortunately the hot springs closed at 7pm the day we arrived and didn't open until well after our check out time the second day. Due to unforseen issues, we didn't arrive until 6:45pm. A disappointing trip. We got less than twenty minutes of swimming our entire stay. We are from Logan so the hotel room became unnecessary. The room was nice. The room we originally booked was not cleaned, so we moved rooms upstairs. The room was sweltering hot at 86 degrees when we arrived (it was 20 degrees outside in Jan). The shower was enjoyable, but did have quite a bit of hair from the last guests. I did not find the pillows or bed comfortable. I did not sleep well. Overall, bad planning on our part. The room was nice, but we were looking forward to lots of swimming and time with family in the hot springs. Instead we were stuck in the hotel room due to the springs not being open during our stay.
Aprilyn (6/5): - We went during Thanksgiving and the pool was nice. The staffs are friendly and attentive. The bathrooms need to be cleaned and an update. We got the Cabin and there were no bathrooms. The common bathroom are just half bath. You can only access the shower room once the pool opens.

Having more options for food and drinks The deposit was more than the room, yikes. I was taken back on that, for that price they could do a little upkeeping. The night we stayed there was a couple arguing very loudly I was ready to call the police but someone opened there door and they quieted up. After those things it's a nice little place to get away to. Everyone we talked to were so nice the young ladies so polite and helpful.

Different pools at different temperatures, very relaxing and invigorating at the same time. The area was clean, we had an enjoyable time. We understood from a local resident the current owner is investing in upgrades, as in the past some reviews were not so good. Would recommend.

606sadieg (6/5): great pools - We found ourselves unexpectedly in Preston and found this online. We had little kids and got to the hot springs with about an hour left to swim. The pools were clean (no slime!) and the kids loved the cooler large pool. The rooms were clean and updated, the beds fairly comfy. We couldn’t get hot water in our shower though. Unfortunately the pools don’t open until 11 in the morning which was a bummer for the kids since we had to get our way in the morning.

The manager, with a sweet disposition came with larger heater that took care of it. I like the folks there. Awesome mountain country, beautiful place to be.

timothy (6/5): Ok stay, faced cleaning charges?! - Stay was ok, nice front desk. Room was not cleaned well, mostly the toilet and tub were not clean. Checked out after 11 hrs, was charged $50 for a cleaning fee? I was told there were 3 towels left really dirty and trash all over, smashed grape into the floor. I ate Wendy’s the night I got there and checked out by 830 am, no craziness was had, thrust me. I checked in after a 50 mile race down the road, I was barely able to walk. Very interesting…Also no phone service for Tmobile fyi.
Verified traveler (6/5): Flies - I couldn't relax I was getting attacked by flies I don't know where they were coming from but I probably killed about 20 flies in my room. Also the walls could use a good scrubbing, there is either food or boogers on the walls. Other then that the room was spacious bed was comfortable.

Verified traveler (8/5): - Wonderful little hotel for all ages. We have teenagers, who liked the pools but wished the big slides had been working. Hubby and I lounged in the 2nd hottest pool for probably too long. The room itself is brand new and my only issue was how long it took to get hot water.

Verified traveler (6/5): - I loved that it was located in a beautiful area. There was a lot that I didn't care for. I requested a handicap room. It was accessible from the outside but, once inside, there were no handicap amenities like bars in the shower and near the toilet. The coffee pot was disgusting and there were no stir sticks for coffee. We had no kind of maid service after being there for a night and no coffee cups for the following morning. When trying to acquire said items on Sunday morning, the front office was all locked up. We will never stay at this location again. Quite a shame because it has a lot of potential.
Hailee (8/5): Nice updates, just needs a little care! - The place has been newly renovated and is attached to a fun water park which we enjoyed taking our baby to. I’m not sure if the rooms are rented out that often because it felt like it had been vacant for a while due to the cleanliness of it. The window sill had hundreds of dead bugs in it, the drain in the shower had someone else’s hair in it and the floors were very dusty and dirty so we ended up tracking it onto the bed. Overall, the place was good, just needs a little TLC before guests stay in them.

SandyAndLloyd (4/5): Swing and a miss! - We booked our lodging here because we were interested in soaking in the Hot Pools. We arrived on a Sunday. We walked out and walked around the pools a little and decided to go take a drive and to soak in them when we got back. After our drive we relaxed and watched TV a little before heading down to the pools. We got down there and they were closed! We looked at the door and it said they weren’t even open on Sunday. Nobody told us that when we were there walking around. They don’t open them back up again till 11:00 am, and that doesn’t fit with our schedule. Problem #2 - I was looking forward to the 2 person Jetted tub in our room. We could not get the jets to turn on.
Burke (8/5): Retired at 40 - We rented 3 rooms and the rooms were nice and updated way nicer then expected. The beds were awesome. The house keeping needs some attention. The rooms weren’t super clean but clean enough we didn’t complain. Parking lot is big with lots of light. No cameras. You are definitely in the middle of nowhere. Super quiet place. The pools close way early 9:00PM!! We asked them at the office if we could stay in the pools later because we had rooms there. We got a load and SHARP NO. I wish there were some Pool benefits for getting a room there. But sadly at 9:00pm they said get out. Next time we go we will just go for the pools and not stay the night.

The room was really nice we had a jetted tub that was a very good size. We had a lot of fun using their Hot Springs. I had a good time and I will be coming back with my kids next time :-)
AntonioCavallo72 (10/5): Great Rooms and Nice Pools - We stayed in a king room and it was perfect. Nice, comfortable bed, big TV, microwave, coffee, mini fridge. Highlight was the big jetted tub in the bathroom. Recently remodeled and done well. Pools were okay--hot mineral waters. We were able to socially distance on a Saturday night--not too crowded, just a few families and some teenagers. We liked it and will stay here again if ever in the area. Heads up--if you are coming to soak due to pain or mobility issues, make sure you let them know. Our room was up some very steep stairs and there weren't grab bars in the bathroom. I'm sure they have accessible rooms downstairs though. Also, it's a bit out of town, which is nice because it's very quiet and rural, but you're driving if you want food you're not microwaving yourself.
megz451 (10/5): WAHOO SUCH A GREAT TRIP! - My family and I just got back from the Riverdale Resort! It was a delightful time in every sense of the word! I was so impressed with the beautiful newly renovated rooms (especially the JACUZZI tub!)😍 BEST tub ever! The hot springs were clean, the perfect temperature and the perfect way to relax! The staff was generous, kind and so great to work with! It is in a beautiful location. It was one of the best trips we have ever taken! You won’t regret it! I encourage everyone to give them a go sometime! 🌟👏🏼😍💛 THANK YOU RIVERDALE resort we will definitely be coming back!
905maliat (10/5): Fun family getaway - We had a wonderful quick stay at the resort. We had visited on a previous trip prior to the renovations and were pleasantly surprised by all the updates. Our room was beautifully staged and the bedding was soft and welcoming. The rooms jetted tub was huge, and so much fun for our kids. Although we just stayed one night we were able to enjoy time in the hot springs. There were both locals and other visitors soaking and it was fun to visit with them all. We wished we had more time. We will hopefully be back again soon!
melsanddunc (2/5): If you like slimy water, this place is for you. - We got there for a one night stay and were more than taken a back by how bad it was. The pictures on their website conveniently do not show you the outside of the condo, which was where we stayed. It is basically a single-wide trailer that isn't even finished. The exterior of the kitchen window has insolation showing and the connecting "condos" are literally hoarder's nests. However, the inside was updated, but didn't have much in ways of items that would help you cook dinner. It would have been nice if there was salt and pepper, coffee filters, a mixing bowl, a colander, dish towels and paper towels or napkins. Being that it is at a hot springs sight you'd think it would have hooks, but no. It didn't have any hooks to hang wet bathing suits or towels. Then we went to the hot springs. The gate was closed between the hot springs and the condo, so we had to walk on the road to get there. Once in the hot springs, the bottom was sp slimy we couldn't get traction to push our 4-year-old around in his floaty. You could literally see algae floating through the water as I was talking to my friend. Truthfully, I would have rather gone to a rustic hot springs or some thing more natural. This was bad. We will not be going back, even if it was the last hot spring on Earth.
JeanetteS339 (2/5): Needs some paint, cleaning, and much more - It’s +38 degrees Celsius all week and no water in the “Olympic sized pool”. The hot pools were sketchy at best. One slide of the 2 slides working. The water temperature in the slide pool still too warm for a hot day. The grass was prickly w tons of weeds. I’m sure it’s great for locals and reunions but it’s not a destination vacation by any stretch. No soap in shower room. 1/4 showers actually worked but that’s where we found cold water, ( no warm showers) we couldn’t relax by the pool , we felt we needed to grab a paint roller and empty the remaining pools to give them a lick of paint. The staff were very nice. The lifeguard could use an umbrella in that heat, maybe a bed to take a nap too. Very slow place. Looks like some improvements in the main building are coming along. Upgraded hook ups were great for RV.
irvingandwendym (6/5): Has the makings of a top resort. - Where to begin? This resort resembled a building site when we arrived. It is undergoing a refurbishment and was not ready when we got there. Some rooms were available and we got one for the price of a cabin so no complaints there. Room had a television, fridge, microwave, but no tea/coffee making machine. Bathroom had a superb spa bath but water took ages to run hot. The paintwork on the walls is patchy. The owners are spending a fortune but some of the workmanship is shoddy.
carennam (8/5): Relaxed atmosphere; fun afternoon in the pool - This place is a little rough around the edges, but my kids and I had such a fun afternoon, we didn't mind. I did notice some maintenance equipment sitting next to the slide tower--not lovely to look at, but not a problem either. It wasn't in the way. The concrete is not perfectly smooth, but didn't seem dangerous to me. There were a few slick spots on the bottom of the large mineral pool, but we weren't running races so again, not a problem. We went on a Wednesday afternoon and enjoyed sharing the pools and slide with few than 20 other people. I saw the lifeguards clean debris out of the pool and appreciated the lifeguards stationed at the bottom of the hydrotube. They were quick to hop in the pool and be ready to help if a smaller child looked like they might possibly need it. My kids loved the bouncy house slide leading into the water. They did lament on the lack of a diving board, but enjoyed the short slide line (sometimes nonexistent) as well as the relaxing water. A group event would work well because of the covered picnic tables in the center of the pools and slides. The staff has even been helpful in setting aside a life jacket and arm floaties we accidentally left behind. They went right out and located the items and set them aside with my name until we can make it back that direction in a couple of weeks. All in all, I would recommend this pool.
H3500DGannah (2/5): Serious concerns - Olympic Pool was thick with bugs, grass and other debris. Stairs in the deep end were broken with sharp edges, and the handrails were loose. Pool surface had orange stains and looked quite dirty. Diving board has been removed. Water feed pipes and water-level drains looked like they were just open with no covering. Both therapy/soaking pool surfaces coated in thick black and green slime, and looked like there was a film on the top of the water (This did not appear to be normal buildup from hot spring minerals, which is often calcium-based and hard, not slimy like algae or other organic buildup). One square pool was empty, with a pipe flowing some water which was running into an uncovered drain - not taped off, no other signs posted to warn children to keep out. Inadequate ventilation in the slide tower - gets very hot and the slide is absolutely broiling hot up top, like hard-to-breathe-hot. Trash on the floor and I counted at least 5 wads of chewed up gum on the dripping wet stairs. Not enough water was going down the slide to maintain momentum - you had to push yourself along to avoid collision at the bottom with the person behind you, because they were giving the go ahead too quickly between people coming down. I heard numerous complaints/warnings from various children that the slide will give you a "rug burn" and could plainly see scrapes and red irritated areas on the backs of several boys. I observed one very small child crying that the slide hurt him coming down. One child in our group got a small cut on her leg coming down the faster slide. Bathrooms were not clean, toilet paper in short supply. One toilet missing a tank cover, with bugs and mildew in the bowl. Overall, the facility was more than just "run down" - looked as though no attempts were being made to maintain even basic cleanliness. Exterior of the facility was uniformly dilapidated, and grass was brown and very dry. I understand it's under new management, but it's in such a state, perhaps consider shutting it down until basic cleaning and repairs can be finished?
C7290FIerict (4/5): Don't go out of your way - Very underwhelming. Hotel room is overpriced. Pool, water slide, hot springs were average at best. We arrived and there was no water in the room. Front desk said that this was a common issue. Room was dirty. Decor was tired. Nothing really noteworthy about the place. I think it is more of a locals place.
IdahoGourmand (4/5): Primitive, Slapdash, Lackluster Reception - Not much choice in Preston, I know. But this place ... not clean, battered hodgepodge furnishings, burnt-out bulbs in light fixtures, and a strange bathroom arrangement (separate toilet, but a jacuzzi with an inadequate shower head is right next to the bed). Because of what I assume is natural spring water, the tub was pretty brown & crusty, taps corroded, and very slow-to-arrive hot water that once it's fully running, there is no way to adjust the temperature. The shower head produced only a trickle. Dirty mirror over the bed, picture fallen off the wall and lying in pieces on the floor, very few outlets and plenty of extension cords littering the floor -- you get the picture. In the winter, there are some outdoor pools open, but the dirty socks & underwear lying in the muddy unpaved parking lot was off-putting. Had to ring several times for front desk people to come check us in; I gather they live elsewhere on the property. We had reservations, but they didn't seem to expect us, or were particularly pleased to see us. Even the dog hated us. No breakfast offered onsite. The heating worked, though -- appreciated that -- and the towels were fluffy and clean. (Advice to owners: probably shouldn't wash burgundy towels with white bathmats.)
dianneb262 (4/5): really needs work, the hotel rooms are good, the snack bar needs food, waterslides and pools need cleaning - If it happens to be clean and the slides working then you are getting a fair deal for the day. not many trees, you will get hungry and have to drive into town half the time for real food other than chips, candy bars, and soda. This place is not consistent with services, or cleanliness. Id call first before visiting and see whats available,
KimballH (4/5): Dilapidated On-the-Cheap Resort - We got the FULL Riverdale resort experience last weekend. We used the condo, cabin, tent grass, pavilion and water park. Two stars for very poor execution of a resort. One star for accommodations, extra star for the pools. Full description of each below: We rented the "Condo" for our family reunion. Sleeps 7, plus couches if you don't dare get in the beds. The Master bedroom bed was concave shaped. It was as if a 500 lb person stayed in the bed for 5 years and never left, then they took that mattress and put it in the condo. The other bedroom has two bunk beds, one twin set and one with twin/full combo. The bunk beds are squeaky & firm but decent to sleep on. The walls and ceiling are particle board/plywood construction. You can hear everything from anyone in the unit (think snoring, crying etc... early or late conversations) while you're trying to sleep. When we opened the door were greeted by spiders, crickets, wasps & beetles inside the unit. We used the microwave and tripped the electrical breaker. When we called the staff (two 16 yr old girls) they didn't know where it was and wouldn't come out to resolve the issue. We had to find it ourselves and flip the breaker. (There is only 1 breaker panel for 3 rental units). Between this and other items it is unsafe construction for occupants! Then the rain and flood came... it rained and both doors let water flow right into the condo, flooding the floor around the entry. If you stay here, bring your accommodations, the people outside the door in an RV seemed to be having a fine time. The swimming pools and slide were fun. There are no towels available from the resort so bring your own. There is cracked and broken concrete everywhere so watch your step, but the Olympic Swimming pool was nice-ish, the hot tub and warm pool had a slimy bottom but they were very refreshing. The water comes into the Hot pool first, circulates and fills the warm pool next, and finally goes into a 3rd pool that was not operational. This water is natural which causes the slime, and new water probably fully circulates the pool every few hours so I would not worry about the quality of the water in these pools any more than I would a natural spring. The dressing room is gross with hard water staining the walls of the shower room. Take some flip flops as a precaution. Only the bigger of the slides was working while we were there but the water is warm in the slide and it's quite fun. Our kids went down the thing a few hundred times. The stairs are scary, some wooden steps are broken and the windows in the tower provide a nice chill but probably keep the mold from growing more than it already is. It was still a fun time for all. There are indoor pavilions available for use, which we rented for the family reunion. Similar construction as the condo with plywood walls/ceiling and one outlet for the whole space. Chairs were used/old and holes in the walls for former A/C units. There are "cabins" available which we had some of our party stay in. These are primitive and very basic. There was a lamp without a lamp shade, one window and a bed type of thing. We also set up a tent on the grass behind the RV spots. This looked like a vacant grass overflow parking lot. Ask to set up your tent on the lawn adjoining the water park instead of this area as the grass is much nicer and closer to the rest of the complex with park benches/tables mixed in. Some other people had done this and had access to park tables next to their tents which would have been nice. We had to walk down the resort road which was muddy and potholed to access the tent. RECOMMENDATION: I'd come back here if I was on a day trip or if I had no expectations whatsoever. We got through the stay by joking about how bad everything was and finding new and exciting things that were unique (like a copy machine on the side of the main building, and a 2x6 board holding up the fence). We're all alive and nobody had to get Tetanus shots afterwards but it was one of the most memorable family reunions ever.
