- Cristian (4/5): Disappointing -
- Nicola (8/5): Great location with everything you need - The location, balcony and facilities were great. We also loved the breakfast! This property had everything you need for a weekend away. The shower didn’t always drain great and as it is just a shower head in the bathroom this lead to the bathroom floor being dirty.
- Anne (8/5): Very good - Good location tò main piazza. All staff welcoming excerpt evening clerk. Evening clerk locked the entrance and lobby entrance at 4-5pm. She said It was tò prevent bad people from entering. Did not make me feel welcome or safe. There was a side entrance but I had tò use the stairs tò go down tò around floor.

- Charles_la (7/5): Good - Old-fashioned hotel right in the center of Anzio. A totally convenient choice for visiting the town, going to the beach or enjoying the nightlife in the city center.
The room (a triple employed as a twin) was big, with a regular bathroom with some amenities. Working air conditioner.
Very good breakfast, with quality pastries, cakes and cappuccino, plus plenty of more industrial goods (very good).
Elevator to reach the upper floors.
Fully working wifi.
Good communication and friendliness, good flexibility for a late check-in.
Double access through the lobby or directly to the rooms. The hotel lobby is nice and well cared for, despite a bit outdated in style - but nice anyway. The room looks a bit shabbier and outdated, with a kind of 'clinical aura', despite having been renovated - the bathroom was mostly new.
The lack of a parking solution may turn a real nightmare in the summer. We had to park about 700 meters from the hotel one night. This is due to the very central location, and not a fault of the hotel, yet it is something to take into account in your plans.
All in all, the price - around 150 Euros per night - was too high for the quality of the room and service. Of course the position is nice, but for this money you would expect something more in terms of neighborhood, ambience, service, room comfort and design.
- Peter (6/5): Central Hotel - The location is excellent with the centre of Anzio very close by and the port/harbour area a short walk away. The hotel is clean and comfortable, although the pillows were thin and we prefer a duvet to blankets - we were a slightly cool at night and had to take an extra blanket off a spare bed in our room. Traffic noise was a little intrusive but quietened after around midnight before starting again around 06.30. More intrusive was the noise from an adjoining room which shared with us their conversations and extensive use of the plumbing facilities - a 20 min shower at 23.45 together with regular toilet flushing. Breakfast was adequate if not overly exciting. The staff were warm, friendly and helpful. I'm not sure if there is meant to be a bar - the breakfast room has a bar area stocked with some drinks - but one didn't function during our stay. The pillows, blankets and noise from adjacent rooms and traffic.
- James (8/5): Very good -
- Alexander (8/5): Nice budget hotel in the city center - In the center of the city, close to port and all the key places. Comfortable 3-start hotel up to all promises. The shower is guarded just by curtain, not much comfot with resulting wetness in the toilet room. No teapot to make hot tea.
- Evgheni (9/5): Nice place in the very centre of Anzio. - Wonderful location just 100 m from downtown Anzio, many cafe and supernakets in procxmity. Pretty nice breakfast served to room by very hospitable personnel. A great Pizzeria just few steps outside hotel. Clean badclothes. Garden view was a view to a neighbour roof. Would be better to install just a simple plactic curtain in the bathroom for avoiding water all around it.
- Edward (6/5): Pleasant - There is no parking except on the street if you can find a spot but finding a spot is difficult. I got my first parking ticket. 😡 It was an older rundown/ not renovated in years place.
- Steven (6/5): Pleasant -
- Jerry (7/5): Good -
- Ifly4u (9/5): Good choise for Anzio - Big room with new bathroom, breakfast is in the room with good quality, fresh croissant, fruit, yogurs, hot bread... Nothing
- Eric (10/5): Exceptional -
- Aadnane (10/5): Central and comfortable - Very central, clean and comfortable. I recommend.
- Harri (6/5): Edullinen, toimiva - Hotellia oli mukavasti entisöity sitten viime käyntimme. Huone on avara. Henkilökunta ystävällistä. Äänet kadulta ja seinän takaa vähän haittaavat.
- douglass (2/5): - The bed was hard, terrible
- 517bobh (10/5): Small, friendly hotel....... - We visited Anzio to view the 'Beach Landing museum' and other monuments to 1944.
Conveniently located for everything in Anzio, La Bussola is clean and cosy.
The owners are very nice and a helpful source of information.
There is a good breakfast bar with tasty food.
Definitely five stars!
- Gine (8/5): Et bra, lite hotell. :)
- jacqui3723 (8/5): Location and comfort - Situated close to the main square and the port, the location was excellent. The greeting was friendly and staff were helpful allowing a late check out and a place to leave our luggage for the day. The room was spacious and very clean and pleasantly furnished. The bathroom was fine with a good shower. Comfortable bed. Attention to small details was apparent throughout the hotel with flowers and a Christmas tree, and obvious effort has been made to make the most of this small hotel. We were there two nights and enjoyed our stay in this seafoodie paradise of a town.
Accogliente e tranquillo. Camera spaziosa, pulita e luminosa, con aria condizionata, riscaldamento, Tv, frigobar e grande armadio; Bagno in camera con ampia doccia. Personale gentile e molto disponibile.
- Pierre (10/5): Hotel accueillant et familial - En plein centre d'Anzio.
- anneo505 (6/5): Ok hotel, nice location - We stayed at the hotel for one night, before we took the ferry to Ponza Island. The hotel is located in the city centre, just a couple of minutes walk from the harbour.
The room was ok - nothing special.
The staff in the reception changed all the time, and no one knew what the other one had said.
Very boring breakfast ;)
- aussiecher (6/5): Convenient location - Anzio itself is a waterfront fishing town that was heavily bombed during the war, famous for allied landings and is home to a Commonwealth cemetery and War Museum(closed Wednesdays) . Lots of history here relating to 2nd world war. The shopping is minimal and expensive. Hotel La Bussola di Anzio is a few minute walk to the large piazza and town centre. The Hotel is one or two streets away from the marina and restaurants line both sides of the street fronting the water. Very nice hotel entry, parking directly opposite the hotel, rooms very average but clean. The bathroom had terrible cotton type towels. The staff on arrival were friendly but other staff as they came into work were often grumpy, not helpful and not very communicative. What we didn't like was coming back from dinner late one night finding a number of room keys, from guests who were still out , lined up along the reception desk so we could help ourselves. Not a very safe practice.
Breakfast was ordinary and little of it but in and all fairness, a group of soldiers had just been to breakfast and perhaps they might have been really hungry. Good location but they need to lift their game quite a bit.
- talentpicker (4/5): We should have asked to see the room first........................... - Our big mistake was not having a plan for one night before returning home from Rome,we had driven the coast roads and Anzio was famous for the allied landings so we decided to go and look.Too much driving, too much sun,a late lunch and a little too much wine had us searching for a hotel in the middle of the afternoon. The town square became deserted and a local pointed up a side street to a hotel saying it was good............................................
The receptionist was not the most polite and said there was a one room left overlooking the street with a terrace, make a decision quickly as they were really full.We should have asked to see the room first........................................A double bed squeezed against the wall, patio doors open to a terrace wide enough to get one chair and small table as a balancing act with a broken canopy overhanging obscuring the zero street rooftop views.Lousy pillows but enough to sleep for the time being. The toilet ensuite was just that,a curtain behind a wall with the toilet and shower head above it and dirty grout in the tiles, not very nice but we were committed.
Night came quickly and so did the noise with drunken people throwing up outside, groans and moans through thin walls,we made a bad choice but lived through the night. The rate included a continental breakfast served by an Indian lady who was about as interested in making us a coffee as we were to drink it,the danish had gone no cold cuts and they ran out of juice and it was not even 8am.We made a point to check out quickly and saw memorabilia from visiting Navy crews and officers saying how much they had enjoyed their stay, sadly ours was really terrible................................
