• Thomas (9/5): - Es ist ein hübsches kleines gut geführtes Gästehaus in einer schönen Umgebung. Vieles kann man von hier zu Fuß erreichen, zum Beispiel den Fischmarkt. Es wimmelt hier nicht von Restaurants und Geschäften, aber sie sind auch nicht weit. Wenn man dem frühmorgentlichen Gottesdienst der Sebastianskirche in der Nachbarschaft nicht folgen will empfehlen sich Ohropax.
• Monika (7/5): - Für eine Übernachtung bei Ankunft/Abflug zu empfehlen, Nähe Bahnhof und Busbahnhof, 100 m zum Strand, hier kann man schön einen Strandspaziergang machen. Ansonsten Preis-/Leistung ok. Mein Zimmer war sehr laut, im Zimmer über mir lief die ganze Nacht ein nervtötendes Gerät, das einen unangenehmen Dauerton verursachte. Ansonsten Preis-/Leistung ok.
• Sandra (7/5): - Unterkunft war gut gelegen und sauber Am Wochenende ab 5h Gottesdienst Ober Lautsprecher. Geht mehr als eine Stunde. Unterkunft liegt sehr nach an der Kirche. Jeden Morgen gibt es eine Messe über Lautsprecher. WLAN war da aber hat nicht funktioniert

• Marina (10/5): Comfortable short stay in Negombo - Sebastian and his wife were welcoming and nice. They prepared a delicious breakfast of local pancakes and fruits. The room was comfortable, with A/C and we enjoyed some hours on the balcony. In the night we took a 15-20 min walk to the main road with all the restaurants without a problem.
• Desa (10/5): Exceptional - This stay was my first 1.5 days in Sri Lanka after a very delayed flight. The hosts were incredibly friendly and were very helpful with local knowledge. The location of Mama Beach Villa is central to most of Negombo but set on a wonderfully quiet street with a beautiful lush garden. The perfect place to adjust to the warm weather and catch up on sleep. A comfortable bed and very tidy and clean.

• Daniel (9/5): A good option near the airport - This was a very nice homestay, close to the airport but also within walking distance to Negombo Fort as well as Fish Market. My room had a/c, a fan and a mosquito net. The Sri Lankan breakfast, although relatively expensive, was very good. The host is friendly and helpful. As other guests pointed out, there's no glass on the window, so the shutters must always be closed. This is certainly not ideal during the day, but this also makes it possible for the room to get completely dark at night. No hot water but, at least in February, I didn't feel the need. Cash only.
• Matthew (10/5): Mama Beach Villa stay - Room was very clean with a private bathroom. Air conditioner worked well. Nice filling breakfast prepared in the morning which was the perfect start to the day. Not a lot to do in Negombo, but the proximity to airport is good.

• Kay (3/5): Disappointed not as described. - Nothing Room - dark and depressing, windows with shutters, bars and no glass. Bedding damp and dirty marks on linen. Towels - stained. Toiletries - only soap from previous guests and unknown creatures in it. Owner - miserable because arrived later than expected. Breakfast - undercooked eggs on omelette and bread not fresh. The building generally unsafe, health and safety wise. Location - not in the tourist area but near to the beach. It wasn’t a beach where there were sun loungers.

• Theresa (7/5): A comfortable bed with good facilities which is exactly what we needed - We are a family of 8 ranging from 4yrs to 82 yrs, 6 visiting from the UK, 2 joining from South Africa. We had 3 rooms booked (2 triples and a double) and the facilities were good and the host was friendly. The rooms were attractive and comfortable and the ensuite had a fantastic shower with hot water. We didn't have the breakfast as we were out early. It was unfortunate that we arrived in the rain and the dark so finding the villa down the narrow road was a bit difficult and uninviting - the property itself was lovely. Not sure how, but a visible sign from the road might be useful. Also, be good to note that it is cash only payment - no card facilities available.

• Khan (3/5): I am not happy with the extra charge. - Near beach They charge an extra amount of 4 dollar . Booking .com showed me 36.72, but they took 40.72 .This is unfair.
• Andrej (8/5): Very good stay in Negombo! - The owner went above and beyond to ensure our stay was as pleasant as possible. He promptly resolved the internet and hot water issues in our room, demonstrating great dedication to guest satisfaction. His helpfulness truly made a difference in our experience. The only downside is that the location is a bit far from the restaurants, shops, main beach, etc.

• Sjoerd (8/5): Very good - Nice homestay in the "authentic" part of Negombo. I forgot about the breakfast though... Since it's in the authentic part of Negombo, you need to walk a bit to the beach and restaurants.
• Kalle (10/5): Clean and comfortable place for when you need to be in peace for a while - Very clean, spacious and has a relaxing atmosphere. Breakfast options were good, and the owner is helpful. There are some really nice restaurants just nearby to the north (especially the Switzerland one). On the map it looks like it's right next to the beach, and indeed it is, but that part of the beach is mainly for fishers and is dirty. You need to walk 1km to the north for the better beaches.
• Susan (10/5): Exceptional - I liked how the accommodation was near the beach, close the the beautiful church and within a lovely neighbourhood. Sebastian and his wife were do lovely and accommodating and made delicious breakfasts. I loved the walk in shower which is rare in Sri Lanka

• Francis (1/5): Bad place to stay in negombo - Nothing All, the location was smelly. The owner is old and not very welcoming. We ordered omelet for breakfast, although he made them but forgot to serve them until we politely ask for it. Toilets were in poor condition.

The room was located in the reception and could do with some maintenance work. Where the fan used to hang, there is tape. No hot water. Hate to say it, but would not book this hotel again.

• Gregory V (4/5): Great WiFi, but that's about it... - When I arrived the villa was not expecting me; the owner had to search to find my reservation. When he did, he gave me the room directly off of the living room after he checked to see if the bathroom was clean. The room had many mosquitoes as it had no glass panes in the windows and the shutters were open. I asked for the remote to air conditioner but he said it wasn't included, despite the fact that the room is listed as having air conditioning. He gave me the remote. The room was adequate, but dark since the only way to keep out mosquitoes was to shut the shudders. (It had the best WiFi of my whole trip!) The greatest drawback was the fact that you can hear absolutely everything from the room next door—every guest entering; every conversation; but worse everything on the television whether someone was watching or not (I asked for them to turn down the tv many times). Finally, I checked out "early" bc I paid two nights but had a midnight flight on the second—I just wanted a place to rest until then. When I tried to pay, the owner wanted me to pay for AC, which was clearly indicated as an amenity on hotels.com. I explained why I wouldn't pay it, and he relented, but it was an uncomfortable interaction. I would not recommend staying here. The beach near is not worth it (sewage from the street empties into it, and there is trash, construction debris, and nets all about—not really even nice just for a stroll), it's far from things, and the service is tricky and subpar.
