This was the worst part of the whole stay. Had to wait to get home just to wash my hair and get what shampoo was in it out.

The only thing that could have been better is the noise of dragging furniture in the room/space above us. It sounded like chair dragging across the floor all night. - beaches850 (10/5): NOLA Trip - What a great stay! Homewood Suites Gretna is a beautifully kept property with seamless access to the West Bank Expressway and nearby shopping and dining. The location made getting around incredibly easy. I was genuinely impressed by the level of service during my stay—friendly, attentive, and professional staff throughout. This will definitely be my go-to hotel for future visits to the New Orleans area. Highly recommended!

However parking is limited and check in experience could be enhanced as we arrived forty minutes after recommended check in time and had to wait an hour and a half after arrival to get a room. However, the condition of the room and the view were excellent.

The staff were so friendly and helpful, and the room was spotless. The beds were really comfy, and the linens and towels were fresh and clean. The continental breakfast was also delicious, which was a great way to start the day. Plus, it’s pet-friendly, which was perfect for us! The location was great—just a short Uber ride to the French Quarter, so getting around was super easy. I’d definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a safe, clean, and stress-free hotel in New Orleans. I’ll be back for sure!

I had to take the only available room I could find at another hotel. It cost me $270.00. I will never use this hotel again. Expedia needs to make sure I get my refund. Also, the difference between $270.00 and $133.18. I would have never paid $270 for a room if I wasn't put in this position. Could somebody from expedia please contact me ASAP.

The staff was welcoming, and the suite was clean, spacious, and equipped with a full kitchen and comfortable bed—perfect for both short and long stays. The complimentary breakfast was great, and the location is convenient, just a short drive from downtown New Orleans. Quiet, relaxing, and overall an excellent experience. I’ll definitely stay here again!
- RajagyaC (4/5): Worst Homewood Property I had been to !!! - I am a Hilton diamond member and have stayed in many Homewood properties but this one is the worst out of generally good lot of hotels. I am writing this review after spending 2 months there in 3 different trips and providing ample warning to their staff. As You Check in the room - First thing you'd notice is that items in Kitchen and Bathroom are missing or not fully serviced. Every time I have to ask for putting back my missing toaster or missing pots or spoons or dish detergent or Soap/Shampoo etc. It completely defeats the purpose of staying in and paying for a full kitchen suite. Room Cleaning Service - Provided every second day but again Kitchen and Bathroom consumable things like dish washer soap or bathroom soap is missing many times. Breakfast - Pretty basic and unlike a regular homewood suite property. Coffee is almost always cold when you reach for breakfast at opening. With the amount of working people staying at this property, they could do it better by starting the breakfast early but they don't. Once work people are gone, this hotel will be struggling for business, if they keep providing this kind of sloppy service time after time.

- Henry (1/5): Not happy with my experience! - The bad outweighed the good. Please beware of booking at this location on booking.com! We needed to checkout a day early, and they said they had to charge me for both nights because I booked on booking.com, and it was an event in New Orleans. This policy is written not written anywhere, but they said that they reserve the right to enact this policy anyway. I was charged $688 for only staying 1 night! The assistant manager, Cookie, would not let us check in unless we paid the full amount, knowing there was nowhere else to stay in the city. She would not check us out when we left the next day. She was rude and condescending. I discovered the next day that we were charged twice for the second night, and an extra charge that no one could explain. I'm still waiting to resolve the issue. This brings the total up to almost $1000. I've also tried to contact an agent with booking.com, and no one will answer! I will NEVER stay at this hotel, and I will tell anyone I know about this experience until it's resolved. I'm also disappointed in booking.com for not being available to resolve this issue either. I have been booking with them for years, and after this experience, I will NEVER use the site again!

- 557annmaried (8/5): Nice But Average Hotel - Nice but average hotel. Not as nice as other Hilton brand hotels that I’ve stayed in. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good with plenty of coffee and even breakfast burritos with fresh tortillas, eggs, cheese, sour cream and pork carnitas. Room was big and had a small but full kitchen (that I didn’t use). King size mattress and pillows weren’t as comfy as other Hilton properties. Plenty of towels and toilet paper and a good-sized closet. Hotel is about 5-6 years old but cheaply built with thin walls and floor (I could hear neighbors above and below me and in the hallway) and small things coming apart…the shower on/off handle was hanging and I could see the pipe behind the wall and the A/C thermostat was also hanging off the wall. The one thing that cracked me up was…only ONE USB port in the room…took me half a day to find it on the alarm clock. For such a new hotel I couldn’t believe there weren’t more USB ports, especially at the desk or in the lamps by the bedside. I’ve stayed in 75-year-old B&Bs that had been updated with multiple USB ports…there simply is no excuse for just one difficult to reach USB port. There was…laughingly…a plug-in port/jack for a computer!

- Climber730558 (2/5): Staff theft - Staff Theft Two night stay. I left two designer dressess in the closet. I started calling immediately after we left. No one returned by call after 7 calls. I finally reached a woman who was apparently the manager. Stated no dresses were left. They were and housekeeping was entering room when we left. The dresses were definately there and the staff took the dresses without a doubt.

- Camper41552412681 (4/5): Cold showers - No hot water for shower 2 mornings in a row. Asked about it at reception, and they weren’t interested. Escalated to manager, and he was too busy to discuss. Avoid if possible, the staff and management aren’t interested in you, just your wallet

- Tujuana (4/5): - I could not use my phone to get into my room The tv didn’t work and no one came to fix it The microwave kept beeping so a guy repeatedly did the breaker until it stopped Every time we plugged in the iron the kitchen shorted out and iron wouldn’t work

- AngieC580 (10/5): Overnight stay - The young man at the desk when we checked in, maybe his name was Tory?, not sure, and the young lady when we checked out, I think Dana?, were very helpful and friendly. We enjoyed our stay. We had to leave for a meeting before the evening reception started, but the food, etc., looked wonderful. Since we were on the phone for business we didn't make the breakfast either. Will try to come back! (Oh, I fixed a broken ornament on the tree! Haha.) Also, one of the housekeeping staff (she didn't speak English, but we managed) graciously gave us extra coffee items for the next morning.

- Karen (8/5): - The property was okay. The receptionists were on their phone and for a hilton property under dressed. The room itself had scuffs and marks and the shower wasn’t completely clean (had a hair). Didn’t expect perfect but it would have been nice to have furniture that wasn’t painted over. Otherwise it was a nice stay. They had a mixer that night that I didn’t go to which I thought was kinda innovative.

- Shane (5/5): would definitely not stay at this hotel again - the location to the port was very good. the front desk clerk on check in was not very friendly and when we got in the room it had not been cleaned. we had checked in later in the day so it wasn’t like we got there early. the clerk just said we can move u to a new room but I will have to call the manager first like I was gonna say no and stay in a dirty room. The new rooms microwave had apparently fallen down so they just placed it on the counter and put a handwritten sign on the dishwasher that said out of order.

- Verified traveler (10/5): Great Stay - I really enjoyed my stay. The hotel was beautiful and I loved the room I stayed in. Everything was very clean and put together. The breakfast was great and I had no problem with using the Wi-Fi. I will definitely be coming back next time I come to visit.
