- Yisroel (6/5): - The staff and the service here, is 5 stars and wonderful!! Nothing to complain about it. They are always with a smile, professional and happy to help where they can. The hotel location is on the coast, but not very walkable to town, it’s a bunch of quiet streets to get there. My issue mostly is the room is not great. The bed is not very comfortable, and the wifi and electricity went out so many times over just a 2 day stay. And everything you have to reconnect the wifi, multiple times a day to put in password etc. shower not very strong. Food in the restaurant was very good but also very pricey and took an hour!! So come with lots of patience if there.

The staff were very helpful espicially in enabling me to upgrade my room to an ocean view. The restuarnt is excellent with a good range of local, Indian and interntaional choices. Breakfast was great too. Plus a choice of two swimming pools! Nothing.

- Noella (8/5): Great staff. Would recommend but poor wifi - Staff and management were friendly, kind, attentive and helpful. Always with a smile and willing to help. Luckily the hotel has a generator, which is very important as there are frequent power outages. Wifi is pretty well non-existent. It was offered and available but rarely worked. There was a church conference during my stay that took over both pool areas. Loungers were removed, long banquet tables were set up, one pool was even closed entirely for a whole day culminating in a nighttime party that continued with very loud music and noise until midnight.

- AnarchyTravel (8/5): Well-Managed Hotel with Reasonable Rates and Good Location Near Lumley Beach - Hotel Barmoi is located on the coast near Lumley Beach. The rooms vary in quality with the "deluxe" rooms in the newer wing having better views and more natural light. I recommend paying the extra money for the deluxe option after staying in both classes of rooms. The hotel provides a free breakfast buffet every morning and the restaurant serves Indian and international fare throughout the rest of the day. The two pools are cleaned frequently and there is a small gym where getting a decent workout is possible. I stayed at Hotel Barmoi for over a week and enjoyed my stay thanks to the excellent staff. Traveler tip: If you're arriving by ferry from the airport or from Conakry, take advantage of the hotel's free pickup service to avoid the chaos at the port.

Το φαγητό στο ξενοδοχείο ήταν καλό, έτρωγα μόνο εκεί όλες τις ημέρες που έμενα. Έχουν και γυμναστήριο. Τα δωμάτια θέλουν ανακαίνιση. Ήταν όλα παλιά και με πολλές βρωμιές. Το καπάκι της λεκάνης ήταν πολύ βρώμικο. Το πρώτο δωμάτιο είχε έντονη δυσωδία, ζήτησα να αλλάξω, όπως και έγινε. Και το δεύτερο δωμάτιο είχε λίγη δυσωδία, αλλά όχι έντονη, όπως το προηγούμενο. Ίσως οφείλεται στο ότι έμεινα στην «παλιά» πτέρυγα του ξενοδοχείου. Για τα χρήματα που πληρώνεις δεν πιστεύω ότι αξίζει το δωμάτιο.

The food is superior to other hotels, at a much more reasonable price, along with great staff! I continue to return time and time again.

- Sanusia (4/5): - I needed to stay for a couple of nights in Freetown, a friend recommended this hotel to me and he’s getting the hardest knock on his head when I see him. Upon arrival, there was an event happening at the hotel so people were crowded at the reception. There was no one guiding me as I made my way through, lifted my suitcase myself etc and went to check in. Checked in and got my room, the room was right by the reception and as these rooms are not sound proofed, I could hear everything happening so I immediately mentioned this isn’t suitable for me to get a good night’s sleep, they changed the room for me. The first room also had this plastic shower curtain which had black mould all over it. Disgusting. New room seemed cleaner and more spacious. I was grateful for that and it was away from the noise and the crowd. However, other things went wrong. If you’re looking for comfy soft lush bedding, forget it. This was the hardest mattress I have laid on whew! And the bedding had stains on them. I didn’t complain about this cause I was too exhausted from travelling and just needed to sleep. Truly the only saving grace of this place is the friendly staff. Breakfast is okay, I ate breakfast here and one dinner of jollof rice and chicken stew. The food is mid, nothing to write home about. Water stopped running. Loud construction noises waking you up with no prior warning. Overall shabby and run down, the walls, doors, bedding, etc all had dirt and stains. Will not be returning

- Jenneke (9/5): Very friendly staff. good breakfast, and ocean views. - The absolute best part about Hotel Barmoi is the very friendly and helpful staff. They made us feel right at home. Apart from that: we enjoyed the breakfast with a choice of eggs, and a different selection of hot foods and fruits every morning. Also: the pool, the sea view, the selection of African, Indian and Western foods at the restaurant, the room service and the excellent hygiene. We were pleasantly surprised to find the different events that were organised and available for a small fee, for example a yoga session, a brunch with music on mother's day, a movie night et cetera. The location of the hotel is resonably close to the city centre; for a small fee a keke (local tuktuk) gets you there in about 30 to 45 minutes depending on traffic. They can also take you along the beach road, with different restaurants and beach bars. I also love some of the African touches (wood work, painting) in the decorating of the rooms and reception area. It gives it a sense of place (instead of another standard bland interior that you will find in hotels everywhere). The hotel is busy renovating, so while some parts are in excellent condition (for example, the restaurant looks brand new), others parts need some extra work (the pool next to the restaurant is under construction). This is Freetown, so the electricity cuts a few times a day. Usually the generator takes over pretty quickly and you won't be in the dark for too long. The rooms are not particularly sound proof; we certainly enjoyed the sound of ocean waves at night and the occasional African music from the neighbours. Again, this is Freetown. But in case you are an early and light sleeper this might be an issue. Would definitely recommend this hotel though, and we decided to return at the end of our stay.

Then 2 small bottles with water on arrival, but after that no water. Ok if it is not included but then they could place water in the room just make a note that it is not for free but must be paid with xx amount. - Sally (9/5): Comfortable and friendly - my go-to hotel in Freetown - This is a wonderful hotel. The staff work hard to give it a family atmosphere, and are very friendly and helpful. The rooms are comfortable and the place is spotlessly clean. It's not as glitzy as the very big hotels, but it's a lot more congenial (and obviously not as expensive). It also has a more relaxed, local atmosphere. The breakfast is wonderful. Definitely my go-to hotel in Freetown. The access isn't brilliant. It's close to Lumley Beach, but not on usual transport routes.

From the front desk team to the restaurant staff to the housekeeping folks we had a really good rapport and a very pleasant stay. Wifi was actually available throughout the hotel which is not the case for some. Really good value for money! The pressure in the showers could have been better, but that was a small glitch in our stay at the hotel.

We had an early departure and they made us a hot breakfast to take with us as well as offering us free transportation to the Sea Coach terminal. The room was clean, quiet, comfortable and had a nice view. The sprayer for the toilet has a leak so our bathroom floor was wet.

- Maitha (8/5): I would definitely stay here again! - Staff went out of their way to be helpful. Manager checked on me when I first got there. I utilized their laundry and printing services and they were efficient and good quality work. There is quite a bit of maintenance going on, but it only affects the common area and restaurant, so nothing terrible. The road to get to the hotel was pretty washed out.

- Erin (9/5): We had a wonderful stay and cannot wait to come back! Already planning our next visit. - The property was in a superb location and the staff were incredibly attentive and friendly! Would definitely go and stay there again. The pool was AMAZING and you get an amazing eagle display most evenings as they fly in and around Aberdeen! Some of the rooms/facilities could do with better upkeep and maintenance, however, it didn’t deter from our experience at all!

- Abimbola (1/5): Bad - I lodged in for five days. The toiletries were complete on the first day. They were not complete on the second day and third day. They only gave one soap, no lotion, no shampoo , no toilet roll and no foot rag. I saw a stain on the bedsheets on the first day which remained on the second day that means they didn't change the bedsheets. I had to report to manager. I told her I paid for complete toiletries per day and a change of bedsheets per day. She apologised and went to make supply that evening. On the fourth day, when I came back in the evening, I was about entering the bathroom to bath and also bath my baby, I heard a bang on my door, the person said he is mustapha, the house keeper, I initially told him wrong address as I didn't request to see any one and besides, it was an odd time for me. He persisted I open the door, so I quickly left the baby on the bed and went to open the door. What I heard was annoying. He said the hotel cleaners normally steal their toiletries so the measures they put in place was that each cleaner cleaning a room must bring wraps of used toiletries by visitors before they can supply another one. Then I said, for me , they have not stolen my toiletries, if I am going out per day, I normally pack all my belongings inside the wardrobe including the remaining toiletries which I know I paid for per day. He now said that his cleaners where ransacking my wardrobe and saw some toiletries and he showed me the snap shot. He said his duty as the house keeper is to come and pack them. I got infuriated. I told him what right do you have to be searching my wardrobe when I am not around. You even snapped my remaining toiletries as if I stole it from your store. These are the things I paid for per day. He said he wants to assure me that I won't take them home. As he was talking, my baby fell from bed. He then said ' I don't care if your baby fell'. I then carried the crying baby to their manager to report to their manager.

- David (4/5): Generally pleasant but loud party is not good - I have stayed here for more than 20 years on my visits to Freetown. Whilst there are more high standard places now, it has always been a comfortable place to stay. On one of the nights I stayed they hosted a party until quite late. I can live with that, it happens. It was at the lower pool area which is right next to the rooms. The real problem was that the previous night they had a rehearsal. In reality that was a bunch of people getting drunk and screaming and intermittently playing loud music and drums until very late (until I complained). This should not be allowed.

- Jonathan (8/5): Good location, well run, good restaurant... but a bit rundown in places. - I usually stay here when I visit Freetown - it's hard to find a place that's more appealingly located, well kept, and well run in a reasonable price range. The restaurant is also quite good. Internet is spotty, and it's a bit annoying when you end up staying at the bottom of the annex building... but these are all small issues. Overall, it's good value and a reliable place to stay.

- Greg-victor (5/5): It is just about okay, too pricey though for the quality of room. - The staff were polite. The level of cleanliness was just about okay. The food was not that great. Doors could not close except if one locked it.
- Carlos (7/5): Good - Good (menu) restaurant. Location close to some interest places like beach restaurants, etc. Modernization of the room, in general. However, it is enough if you not are highly demanding.
- Dan (8/5): Great value, great location. - I've stayed several times at the Barmoi and I'm consistently pleased with the service. This time I traveled with my family and my children loved the pool and restaurant. Great value place just a short walk from Lumley Beach.
- Laura (9/5): Will stay again! - The rooms are clean, the shower was good and the view is superb. I used the gym which was also fine. The electricity was constant and the a/c worked great. The staff were also helpful and friendly. The pool was a little unclean. The breakfast is good but i found it a bit expensive.

Rooms are not sound prove and there were a wedding, very nose plus you can every thing from the next rooms.
