- brigido671 (10/5): Modern amenities with a classic touch. - Wonderful experience. The room was very clean and well appointed. The breakfast was tasty and open from 7 - 11 which we really appreciated. The staff were friendly and helpful. The bathhouse/hottub was soothing and relaxing. Note that the "hot tub" doesn't have but jets but we didn't miss it at all. The location was good too. One of my favorite things was that it had two comforters - one for each side of the bed so my partner and I didn't have to fight over the blanket! I do wish however that there was a top sheet so that when it got warm at night I could just use the sheet. A small complaint given how good everything else was!

- GH24 (10/5): Super Boutique Hotel - We spent 3 nights at the Konsulat whilst visiting Reykjavik and were very pleased with our choice as it ticked so many of the boxes that we look for in a hotel – small boutique style with excellent facilities, super staff and a great central location. The suite we stayed in was a good size, well equipped and quiet. Breakfast was excellent with a good selection of food, and although there is a only limited bar menu for lunch/evening, we found it more than sufficient for the our first night and loved the bar’s relaxed atmosphere/décor/service. We would certainly use again if we ever returned to Reykjavik.

- Sam_F231091 (10/5): Fantastic 4-night stay – exceeded expectations! - We had a fantastic four-night stay and it truly exceeded our expectations. The room was cosy, warm, and beautifully decorated with a huge en-suite and walk in shower. Breakfast was amazing, with plenty of choice each morning. The staff member at breakfast was incredibly helpful and attentive – she couldn’t do enough for us and really made a difference to our stay. The same goes for the staff at the front desk, who were so helpful when it came to any questions we had. The location is perfect for exploring Reykjavík. Everything felt within a five-minute walk, whether it was bus stops for excursions or the harbour. Being right next to the famous hot dog stand was a great bonus too! Having access to the hot tub and sauna on the ground floor was a real treat. We used them almost every day, and they were practically empty each time – such a relaxing experience. The only small suggestion we would make would be to have the fire lit more often in the lobby. It wasn’t on during our stay, and it would have been a lovely touch to come back to after a day out exploring. It certainly wouldn’t stop us returning, but it would make an already cosy atmosphere even better! All in all, we couldn’t have asked for more and will definitely return when we come back to Iceland!

Reception was wonderfully kind. The airline had lost one of our luggage during travel and the hotel assisted us in every way possible. Thank you for a warm but short stay!
- Stefani (9/5): - The hotel is in an excellent location, making it easy to explore the area on foot, and it was also very convenient for reaching tour meeting points. The design is a perfect blend of modern aesthetics and Icelandic character, creating a beautiful and authentic atmosphere throughout the property. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and I especially enjoyed using the sauna, which was a great addition after a long day. There was no assistance offered with the suitcases upon arrival, which was unexpected for a hotel of this standard. The breakfast was good in quality, but the selection was somewhat limited and could benefit from more variety. One important concern was related to room key security. After misplacing my key cards, I asked reception to cancel them. I was assured they had been deactivated and was issued a new card. However, I later found the original cards and discovered they were still active. Since the card holder included the hotel and room number, this represented a potential security risk if someone else had found them.

Two small things kept it from being a 5-star review: (1) the online info about air conditioning was a bit unclear. We visited during a warmer stretch, and the small window didn’t provide much ventilation; (2) the shower design. Using the handheld wand splashed water across the bathroom since the shield wasn’t quite enough.

At check in the front desk gal was a bit unfriendly, but after that, all of our interaction with the staff was great. The hotel lobby and breakfast area were very clean. We had a rate that included breakfast and the breakfast was tasty and plentiful. The gentleman replenished the items on the buffet frequently. Our room was spacious and clean. It was quiet for sleeping. We enjoyed the location (hot dog stand right outside) but also all other places we wanted to go were within walking distance. It was a great location. We enjoyed sitting in the pool room area in the basement as it was quiet and warm. The staff was helpful with loaning us an electronic converter (we had problems with ours) and also in arranging a cab for us to the cruise port the day we checked out. I'd highly recommend this property.

- Zsofia (8/5): - Für ein elegantes Hotel enige kleine Fehler (Kaffeemaschine nicht dicht, Mülleimerdeckel kaputt, Shampoo und Seife vertauscht usw.). Alles nicht grundsätzlich schlimm, aber es fällt einfach auf. Herr an der Rezeption hat aber alles gleich notiert und sich für die Rückmeldungen bedankt.
- ElNinoDorado (10/5): Excellent was the experience, but not up to par with other Curios. - Had a one night stay here with two rooms . The receptionist gave both a Diamond upgrade to a King Deluxe, and when I asked for one of the rooms to have two beds, she very quickly arranged that. We were offered the minibar, a gourmet chocolate bar, use of the bathhouse, and an invite for evening drinks at the Konsúlat Wine Room. That's generally how Curios go; they stay low key in the neighborhoods they're in (except for the ones built on man-made islands). This lobby feels like I'm in a game of Clue, and a murder mystery is about to unfold in the study. The elevator is dark. After a perfect check-in (I mean, what more can you ask for?), I'm in Room 304, situated right above the hot dog stand. The room is very cozy, with street facing windows large enough to step out of. There is a couch to chill on, bathrobes, and slippers. The minibar was a very generous offering, though we did not partake. The second room, 308, is similar, with the beds separated by about 10cm. The toilet has a door, but the shower doesn't. Not that it needs one. I took three showers in 16 hours. It may have healing properties. The hotel is in a prime location to explore the city from. The street was very quiet on a gorgeous Reykjavik summer Sunday. I was not disturbed at all by the ever present hot dog stand queue. I've been so enamored with the Curio brand, and the individuality that each property has to offer in their respective cities. The Konsúlat Wine Room melds right in the lobby, within a building that blends right into the rest of the street. The decor harkens back to a time of sharp dressed men and women, hat stands, and indoor smoking. The rooms are cozy. The staff here are excellent. One gripe I do have is breakfast. This was the only Curio property I've stayed that did not offer something made to order. I had come to assume that was a brand standard. It leaves me wondering, how are things going at the Iceland Parliament Curio, or even the Canopy...

- freutmich (10/5): A Truly Spectacular Hotel! - From location, to design and appointments, to comfort, to staff . . . this is a spectacular hotel! Reykjavik is a relatively small and compact city, so the hotel’s location is ideal for walking to any downtown restaurant, shop, or attraction. From the minute you walk in, the atmosphere of the Konsulate feels special. It’s warm and inviting in the lobby, and comfortable and relaxing in the room. We felt at home, and wished we had been able to enjoy a longer stay. A special shoutout to Panos at the front desk, whose professionalism makes him an excellent representative of this property! He went above and beyond to make our stay something special. Panos not only met us with a friendly greeting that made us feel truly welcome, but he answered questions and took care of little tasks on our behalf throughout. He’s a gem, and the Konsulate is lucky to have him.
- garryt675 (10/5): - We went to Reykjavik to see the area and board a cruise ship. Since we planned to be there for several days, we wanted a small hotel close to Town Center: we found the Konsulat Hotel, and I am glad we did. The service was excellent – everyone did a great job! The staff told us about the neighborhood and nearby restaurants. We were upgraded to a suite and had plenty of room. The in-room safe was large enough for a 15-inch laptop. The only minor issue was light leakage from the windows. Caveat: A very popular hot dog stand is located near the back of the hotel and remains open until the nearby bars close. Ask for a room away from the hot dog stand. This was our first time at a Hilton Curio hotel, but I plan to stay at more of these unique properties.

- ThemeParkReviewTrips (10/5): Super great hotel - location, amenities, and more! - This hotel was amazing! We had three rooms for our family group and were able to get in one of them at noon after arriving on a redeye flight which was much appreciated. Other two rooms were ready before check in time. The rooms were all a bit different but very nice, and the bathrooms were great. The best part of this hotel was the underground sauna and hot tub that was lovely to warm up and relax in at the end of a long sightseeing day. Oh, and the breakfast was also really nice and had European and American options on it. Only negative was that in one of the rooms the room darkeners did not completely cover the windows which was a little tricky in June with so much sun around the clock. Location is perfect as it's basically right in the center of Reykjavik and a 20min max walk to anything in any direction. Also right next to a 24 hour grocery store, great food hall, two bakeries, and one of the 'bus stops' for anyone doing organized tours. Would absolutely stay here again on our next visit to Iceland.
