Guest Reviews
- rosemount12 (10/5): Beautiful Boutique Hotel - An absolute pleasure to return to this beautiful boutique hotel for our fourth visit. We were greeted upon arrival by the friendly professional team & were absolutely delighted to receive an upgrade to a junior suite together with cake, fruit & fizz to celebrate my husband’s birthday.
The hotel offers an oasis of calm & is located in a quiet position within the old city.
Would recommend booking the rooftop sundeck complete with plunge pool, perfect after a day of site seeing.
Can’t wait for our next visit.
- 252max34 (10/5): Top notch. - One of the best hotels. This is a small five star hotel. Only about 18 rooms. The location is in city centre. Quiet area close to lots of restaurant and shopping. Bus and Train terminal is about 15 min walk. Though there is no swimming pool, they more than make up for that through awesome service.
- 520inev (10/5): More Than Just a Hotel Stay - I had a wonderful stay at Summum Boutique Hotel in Palma. What was originally planned as a one-night stay turned into two nights because I truly did not want to leave.
The team was exceptional: professional, attentive, and genuinely kind throughout my stay. I was also pleasantly surprised with a complimentary upgrade to the suite, which made the experience even more special.
The hotel offers a very calm and relaxing atmosphere, perfect for unwinding. The room was immaculate and beautifully detailed, from the personal welcome note on the bed to the high-quality amenities in the bathroom. Every little detail was thoughtfully considered — and that is exactly what makes a hotel like this stand out.
Thank you to the entire team for such a memorable and relaxing experience. I would gladly return.
- louis (7/5): - Very nice staff.
Good location.
Clean rooms, well designed.
Theres a jacuzzi in the basement we were able to use. Specifically asked for rooms not to be next to elevator, arrived with room immediately next to the elevator.
The hotel is on top of a school and it was noisy with kids screaming in the morning.
Curtains aren't blackout and too much light comes in in the morning.
- Cornelia (10/5): Wer etwas ganz besonderes in Palma sucht, sollte hier buchen. - Ein zauberhaftes Kleinod mit super netten Personal! Wir wurden wie Könige behandelt!
- Carolina (10/5): Tive uma excelente experiência, num ambiente atencioso, calmo e elegante -
- Juliette (9/5): Very pleasant stay and felt being very well taken care of - The location was perfect. The hotel is beautifully designed and renovated. I really appreciate the staff who was friendly and very helpful attentive to our needs. Thank them all! Nothing

Die sehr gute Lage in der Stadt.
Das Ambiente und die Ausstattung des Hauses. Gab es nicht!
- S1372IYpatrickf (10/5): Our Perfect Stay in the Heart of Palma - After finishing our GR 221 hike, we treated ourselves to three days at this wonderful hotel — and it couldn’t have been a better choice. From the moment we arrived, we felt genuinely welcomed by the incredibly kind and attentive staff. The hotel itself is set in a beautifully renovated house, full of charm and quiet luxury, right in the heart of Palma. It was the perfect place to relax and recharge after the hike. We would happily stay here again and can wholeheartedly recommend it.
- annakatharinac2026 (10/5): Just perfect. - Ideal location, very friendly and helpful personnel. Beautiful room. We will definitely come back!

- CireWW (10/5): A great stay! - A great stay at a lovely hotel. We couldn’t have had a better time.
The hotel staff were exceptional, the room was lovely. The situation of the hotel was perfect for our needs.
The hotel was built on what looked like a decrepit house, but the standard of the refurbishment, build and fittings all were of the highest standard.
We would love to go back!
- timpZ9740CF (10/5): Great hotel and excellent service - This boutique hotel is cleverly and beautifully created from a historic building in the heart of Palma. The location is perfect for walking to all the notable sites in Palma whilst being away from the hustle and bustle. The room we had overlooked the atrium and ticked all the boxes you might expect of a quality hotel. The bookable rooftop loungers and small pool were an ideal place to relax after a day wandering down old streets, tasting delicious food and visiting some wonderful places. Breakfast was a treat and perfectly presented each morning. However the difference is made by the staff - from the first introduction, accompanied by a chilled glass of Cava to the final farewell, nothing was too much trouble and the service from reception to housekeeping to the servers at breakfast was polite, friendly and personal. We would be very happy to recommend to friends and family.
- G69OAmelissam (10/5): Birthday weekend - The hotel is gorgeous. Thank you so much to the team for making my Birthday so special. Also special thanks to Alicia and Bianca for their recommendations and making our restaurant bookings. Nothing was too much trouble.
- Edith (10/5): -
- Jipper1960 (10/5): Superb Hotel - Perfectly located in the old town, we arrived early and were greeted with a glass of bubbles, staff were fantastic and always helpful.
- U957GNsarahd (10/5): Excellent - A wonderful stay at this small boutique hotel. Everything to a very high standard. Room very clean and comfortable. A beautiful old building restored to provide a luxurious stay.
Staff extremely friendly and attentive. Very good choice for breakfast and nothing too much trouble.
Situation of the hotel perfect for exploring Palma.
Highly recommend.
- ianwine (10/5): Exceptional Service! - What a wonderful experience! A beautifully restored traditional building; elegant, timeless and very comfortable rooms. Best of all, outstanding service with a smile. Great breakfast with table service and a full buffet with local delicacies. We will definitely be back!
- fabiogQ6767KH (10/5): Amazing Experience - This hotel is a lovely place with fantastic staff and is perfectly situated in Palma. It’s ideal for a city trip for those seeking a boutique experience.
- Dr Grobecker (8/5): -
- StevensbikeErkrath (10/5): A superb hotel with outstanding staff in the old part of Palma de Mallorca - A five star hotel in the middle of the old town of Palma de Mallorca. An old mallorcan house converted to a wunderful hotel. Just a few steps to the center of Palma and the many attractions. With an especially friendly, supportive and attentative staff in all areas of the hotel.
The room obviously had been designed by an interior designer. The bed had three cushions per peron available (remarkably high quality providing a good nights sleep). The room - as the entire hotel - was truly quiet.
The hotel offered breakfast, which we also had booked. The breakfast was really good with many choices of bread, fruits, juices etc. In addition one could order specifically from the kitchen.
The staff in this hotel was extremely professional and supportive. We were interested in a list of restaurants for dinner and we got a long list of options - in walking distance to the hotel. The car had to be parked in a separate parking lot not attached to the hotel, however, the staff offered valet parking and it was always just a matter of a few minutes and our car was available. The staff impressed us with their language skills (English and German) which made the stay at this hotel even more enjoyable. Overall, the staff is outstanding.
- 290550 (10/5): Perfect in every way - One of the nicest hotels I have ever stayed in . Every aspect of the hotel was of the highest quality. Lovely quiet atmosphere. All the staff were so friendly , helpful and professional. Would definitely recommend.
- Camille (10/5): Magnifique séjour - L’emplacement, le confort, le personnel, le petit-déjeuner /
- Sonia (10/5): -
- Angela (5/5): Great potential but disappointed with our experience - The property is beautiful and we loved the tour to explain the renovation process that made it what it is today. We requested an early check in and received confirmation of an 8:00 AM check in time. When we arrived we were told the hotel was full and we couldn’t get in early. We went out for the day and came back to the hotel at 3:30 (30 minutes past the regular check in time) and our room was still not available. So our early check in turned into a late check in. Once we got to our room, we were put in the only room on the 4th floor which sounds great but then we listened to little kids run up the stairs, screaming on their way to the rooftop pool, and then the noise of all pool activity could be heard through the ceiling.
Nichts
- Francesca (10/5): Perfect hotel in the heart of palma - Staff amazing, breakfast is perfect, location is perfect, I really enjoyed my stay here. Toiletries are very high quality, room is very spacious, all staff are super polite. It was perfect no complaints
- jorgesanchez (10/5): Highly recommended – a charming hotel in an ideal location, perfect for couples. - We truly enjoyed our stay at Hotel Summum Boutique. The hotel is in an excellent location, and the staff was extremely friendly and helpful from the very beginning. The rooms also fully met our expectations.
- Nick123568 (10/5): Perfect boutique hotel in heart of Palma - Great boutique hotel in heart of old town. We stayed between Xmas and New Year so did not check out the roof terrace.
Room was great - very spacious and comfortable and good breakfast.
Very friendly staff
Hotel provided recommended restaurants which we made use of - great options within walking distance and super food.
Easy walk to the Cathedral.
We had suite 205 which was a really great room with large windows.
- Marcel (10/5): -
- adegordon (10/5): Sublime - The only annoying thing was having to leave.
All of the staff were just wonderful in every way.
Of course I didn’t book a Christmas dinner. The hotel staff fixed that for me in a Michelin starred restaurant down the road.
Hard to see why this beautiful boutique hotel got 4.9. It was INCREDIBLE!
Yeah, I highly recommend this place. Right in the centre and far enough away from the noise.
Truly sublime.
Just amazing.
I will return.
- Christina (10/5): Für uns hätte es kein schöneres Hotel geben können - Ein wunderschönes Boutique Hotel mitten im Herzen von Palma. Das Personal ist mehr als zuvorkommend.
- Minh (10/5): - Very beautiful hotel with a lot of charme, outstanding service from the staff, also for special wishes! Thanks again!
- Ian (8/5): - Staff. Upgraded room very nice. Small room. Outdoor 'spa' cokd, dirty, and not very welcoming
Nichts
- marius (9/5): -
- yuliav475 (10/5): Amazing hotel in convenient location with spa - Amazing hotel, friendly staff, very pleasant design and rooms, clean; great experience and very relaxing. They have spa that can be booked in advance and it’s a private experience
- Iuliia (10/5): -
- andybR1075EL (10/5): Another outstanding stay - This is now our go to place to stay in beautiful Palma. Every member of staff goes out of their way to ensure you are welcome and nothing is too much to ask. The service is above and beyond what you'd expect and the Melia brand should be very proud of this hotel.
Location is perfect, literally a 5 mins to everything. Yet quietly tucked away in a narrow side street. The building itself dates from a 15th century palace, which has been totally refurbished with no expense spared. The rooms are stylish with big beds and luxury sheets, thick towels, warm showers decadent amenities.
I will be staying again and cannot recommend this hotel enough
- Alwin (9/5): -
- StuMoore10 (10/5): Has to be your place of choice in Palma to stay! - This hotel was the best hotel experience I’ve had around the world! From the moment we walked in the service was absolutely exceptional! Their knowledge of the history of the building, the local area and recommendations for restaurants/activities was fantastic.
The room was exceptional and maintained to a very high quality, there was no wear and tear at all. The quality of the bed and pillows meant sleep was so easy and comfy.
I would definitely recommend staying here and again just can’t say enough on the service from the staff, they are exceptional!!!
- C4220ASolgam (10/5): Parfait - Wonderful hotel, wonderful staff, special thanks to Pedro who was simply wonderful, and Lorena at the reception, Angelo at the bar was simply exceptionally friendly, cozy rooms, and the rest of the staff are simply amazing, all the girls at reception and the young man, I don’t remember the name unfortunately! I will be back with pleasure! Thank you very much
- Corina (9/5): - Top Lage, sehr freundliches Personal Relativ laut von der Strasse her.
- PA Hedin (10/5): - Excellent location. Staff extremely helpful. Room great. Room could have been with a window facing the street.
- Melinda (10/5): Refined elegance and top notch comfort - Beautifully curated hotel in the old town section of Palma. An old palazzo that was updated in the 1870's, I liked how there were photos of the building from that time period in each renovated room. Every modern comfort was considered in turning this historic building into a luxury hotel. The staff was exceptional, welcoming and helpful. I liked everything!
- Deimante (10/5): -
- alexsE3828DP (10/5): 2 day visit to Palma - A lovely boutique hotel with excellent service throughout
We particularly enjoyed the private sauna and use of the roof terrace
- Ysolde (9/5): -
- DogsAndDenver (10/5): 5 Star Stay! - We absolutely loved our stay at this hotel. The staff really set it apart. The gentleman at the front desk would always check and see if we needed beach towels and recommendations - he sent us to lovely beaches we would have missed without him. The gentleman at breakfast was an absolute delight. And, the breakfast was fantastic. The young woman who valeted the car was also absolutely lovely. The room was clean and roomy and spotlessly clean, and the whole hotel smelled phenomenal. Also the hotel is a cool historic building, and in a great location - very walkable. Such a 5 star stay - everyone was so warm and kind and we could not have asked for a single thing to be improved. Perfect stay!
- Wolfgang (10/5): -
- J4186ABalexanderk (10/5): An excellent hotel! - An excellent hotel!
Extremely dedicated staff — very friendly and attentive. Wonderful service at breakfast. You feel completely comfortable and well taken care of. Modern design, with every detail thoughtfully arranged. Truly a fantastic place — I’d gladly come back anytime!
- Gemmo_Paris_72 (10/5): Amazing hotel located in the heart of Palma - Amazing hotel located in the heart of Palma. The staff were always friendly, helpful, and quick to respond to any requests. The bed was extremely comfortable, and the breakfast was excellent.
- chocsmarty (10/5): Excellent hotel with equally excellent staff - My husband and I were a little worried about booking this hotel as it had few bedrooms but as it was 5* we were sure it would be fine. It was terrific. The hotel staff were really friendly and nothing seemed to be too much effort for them. We were looked after really well and greeted when we went out and came in. There were many photographs of the building before its total renovation and we couldn’t believe how the architects had the vision to come up with the splendid building it is now. There was an amazing comparison of the old building and the new on a video screen in the lift of all places. We were told that there was a running video of the old premises on floor 2 which was housed in an old-fashioned room in the building. Enough said - it is a gorgeous building. Everyone was so helpful to us. The rooms were immaculate and well maintained by the cleaning ladies. One lady on reception (Alicia) we had a few jokes with and other staff were equally friendly but I’m sorry I’m not good with names. We had a most enjoyable stay for 10 days at this hotel and didn’t want to leave.
- karenwO1689JT (10/5): Stunning Boutique hotel with marvellous staff - The Summum Boutique hotel was perfect in every way for the second part of my solo trip, the first part having been spent at its sister hotel in the mountains of Palma. The hotel was in prime old town location, a short walk to all places of interest such as the port, cathedral and shops. It was set far enough back to be peaceful and the fact that the Palma marathon route went directly in front of it was a bonus!
The rooms were exquisite and had everything you could possibly require for your stay. The GHD hairdryer and straighteners were a welcome touch too.
The breakfast was buffet style and served in the cutest restaurant and all rooms in the public areas were set to the highest standard, all with lovely extra touches in keeping with the hotel’s history.
An extra special mention for the staff at the hotel, they couldn’t have been more helpful or pleasant. I would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting a luxury stay in Palma.
- Simon (9/5): - Staff were all fantastic, location in the Old Town is perfect. Room was very comfortable (the whole hotel was) and breakfast was great The spa is limited, but what is there is free and appreciated
- Peter (9/5): - Location and comfy bed Room slightly on the dark side. More lighting needed.
- Adrian (10/5): Delightful - It’s a beautiful, historic building one street from the action.
- Patricia (10/5): Tolles Stadthotel in Palma -
- a1g1z1art (10/5): Beautiful boutique hotel in central Palma - Hidden gem in the heart of old town- perfect central location but so quiet and relaxing! Service was outstanding from every single member of this great team- even checking in at 1am, nothing was too much trouble. Loved that there are only 18 rooms, spotlessly clean throughout and a great variety of different food at breakfast time. The atmosphere was tranquil, friendly and relaxed. Highly recommended A**
- Jane (8/5): Fabulous relaxing few days - Peaceful Roof terrace disappointing
- krob67 (10/5): Charming Hotel with a Gracious Staff - Wonderful boutique hotel with absolutely the loveliest staff ever! This quant hotel is on a small street in the heart of the Old Town. We had a small, but well appointed, room with a balcony. Our breakfasts on the patio in the morning were quite generous an yummy. The hotel is in a perfect location to explore the charming city of Palma. We would love to visit again!
- philipp247 (8/5): Small Luxury hotel for a more intimate break in the centre of Palma. - We booked Summum for 7 nights a VERY special occasion (our daughters wedding just outside Palma) so arrived hoping everything would be as we had imagined / hoped.
Unfortunately, our initial experience (through no fault of the Hotel) caused us some disappointment and stress. The Hotel dealt with the situation really well and after Day 2 of our 7 days we were able to settle into a stay that we had hoped for.
Its a beautiful hotel in a historic building.
Fabulous central location.
Although we didn't use all the facilities, those we did were excellent!
Super-comfortable bed.
Superb staff who couldn't do enough for us (including helping us with some problems we encountered during our stay, not all of them of them of their own making)
Breakfasts were excellent.
Would we stay again? ABSOLUTELY. The overall experience by far outweighed the problems we had.
Thank you Summum for looking after us so well.
So why not a 5* review?
1. Miscommunication between our booking company (Jet2) and the Hotel. TOTALLY Jet2s fault AND the Hotel rectified the problem BRILLIANTLY, (BUT on Day 2, which took the shine off our arrival / start)
2. We were looking forward to trying their restaurant (Equus) and were disappointed to find it had been closed for some time, despite some (apparently "open" information on the Internet AND it still featuring on the Hotels own "on screen in rooms" information!
3. Although the Hotel is in a fantastic central location, that has a price to pay - limited views. If you are after expansive panoramic views of the city / sea I don't think these are available from the rooms (might be mistaken as I only saw some of the rooms locations?)
4. We had a (minor) problem with the room door lock / key-cards which, once again, the Hotel dealt with professionally.
5. We were on the front of the hotel, which was charming. One thing to be aware of is the 8 o'clock "alarm call" each weekday morning by the children attending the school / college next door. Not a problem for us, but but if you are a "light" sleeper who likes a "lie-in"!
- 398fionaa (10/5): Special place - Stunning boutique hotel which has been sympathetically designed in a modern style but still incorporating and retaining so many of this buildings beautiful features dating back to 1874.
It’s a special place with exceptional staff Pedro, Angel, Alicia and others providing brilliant service, clean and very comfortable rooms (ours had a delightful little outdoor terrace) lovely breakfast .
It’s the extra touches which make a stay memorable and when I arrived the day after my birthday reception must have noticed in my passport and arranged a card and chilled bottle of Cava….so kind!
Thank you call at Summum for making our stay truly special.
- LAA1478 (10/5): 10 out of 10! - I honestly cannot fault this hotel – it’s perfection from start to finish. The cleaning staff were incredible, somehow managing to tidy and refresh the room the moment I stepped out. Everything smelt phenomenal, and the whole property has such a luxurious yet welcoming atmosphere.
The service is truly 5-star. Every member of staff was professional, warm, and always willing to go above and beyond – from booking reservations to making sure every detail was just right. Their attention to detail and genuine care for guests makes all the difference.
As a travel agent, I’ve seen a lot of hotels, and I can say without hesitation that I would recommend Summum Boutique Hotel in a heartbeat. It’s the perfect blend of elegance, comfort, and impeccable service. I cannot wait to return!
- matildaprowse (10/5): Smart, Sleek and Friendly. Everything you need for a city hotel. - Lovely smart boutique hotel, fantastic location which is great for exploring the old town on foot.
The staff are all lovely and very happy to help with any questions you might have or reservations you would like assistance with.
The breakfast is very good and just what you need before a long day of walking and getting lost in the city!
We thoroughly enjoyed our time here and will definitely be recommending it to family and friends!

- Luis7804 (10/5): Wonderful experience - From the very first moment, we felt completely at home. The atmosphere and attention to detail in the décor are truly unique. The menu is creative, with outstanding dishes of the highest quality, complemented by excellent wines. The evening was perfectly rounded off by exceptional service. We had a wonderful night and felt truly cared for in every way
- BillS540 (10/5): Faultless - The Summum Boutique Hotel was highly recommended by friends who had visited earlier this year and we certainly were not disappointed. Absolutely superb accommodation, excellent location, first class service from the manager Pedro and all his team including Alicia and the inimitable Angel. Will definitely return.
- iPatrice (10/5): Summum means the top! - Solid 10/10! Amazing sleep and outstanding hospitality from Lorena, Elena, Pedro, and the team. The valet parking was super convenient, and the genuine connection with staff made the stay truly memorable. Overall, an excellent experience!
- 131pascalel (10/5): Just great! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ - Just great! Top location, top hotel and top service ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.
The rooms are beautifull & very clean and the staff is so nice.
- Fiona (10/5): Professional and polite staff with a nice sense of humour - Beautifully maintained Hotel - everything flowed
- Meshal (10/5): Extraordinary - Amazing staff — very friendly and professional. They have went above and beyond. Rooms were clean and nice. Try to take a room on the upper floors, as you can hear people in the street in the rooms on the lower floors, which could be annoying while sleeping.
- susannahm843 (10/5): Perfection! - I really cannot praise Summum Boutique Hotel highly enough. From the moment we arrived and were greeted by Pedro with a welcoming drink and tour of the hotel, (of which he is very, very proud and rightly so), up to the moment we left yesterday morning. Everything about the hotel is top class, our room was delightful with everything you could possibly need. The shower was powerful and the water hot, the Nespresso machine worked faultlessly and the air con was super efficient. Everything was spotlessly clean and the bed super comfy. Being set where it is on a quiet side street near Caller Jaume lll, meant it was ultra quiet, not a sound of traffic ensuring a good nights sleep. The plunge pool on the roof is a bright idea, bookable by the hour with sun beds and enough room for a yoga workout! There is a spa and sauna in the basement, again bookable hourly. A nice touch was the unusual reversible bathrobes, towelling on one side and a soft fabric on the other making them perfect for relaxation. Another clever idea is the provision of a sizeable, robust hessian beach bag; the hotel supply beach towels on request! Breakfast is served on an open air bar/terrace area with large sunshades and plenty of foliage climbing the walls. Breakfast food is delightful, a huge assortment of fruits both fresh and dried, juices, yogurts, coulis, cheeses, breads and pastries, And this is before you are offered cooked plates. The choice is vast and the quality top notch. Team Summum are the best, attention to detail is the name of the game and they are masters of nice touches. It was my birthday 2 days before we arrived and they spotted that from my passport. So we arrived back from our tour of the Cathedral to find a bottle of Cava, a chocolate cake and strawberries and and improvised birthday card. They make restaurant recommendations and even book your table for you. I could go on and on about this hotel (as if I haven't already done so) but it really is a perfect, magical place and we loved it. We hope to return before too long and in the meantime want to thank Pedro and his team again for their warmth and superb hospitality.

- Dreamer05325536703 (10/5): 5 day break in September - Fantastic hotel. This place manages to find that balance of effortless 5 star service with the warmth and friendliness of a team of people who really care about the experience of each guest. Special thanks to Alicia who when out of her way to make our stay such a memorable one. Can't wait to go back.
- fabiocD2369OM (6/5): It could have been a 5 star stay, if it wasn't for the terrible arrival experience - We have carefully chosen Summum Boutique Hotel for our stay in Palma, booking it almost an year before our trip. I have worked in the tourism industry for the last 12 years, and having travelled to more than 100 countries, I know exactly what to expect, what to tolerate and what is unacceptable for a 5 star hotel. Whether it is a huge resort or a small boutique hotel, providing a smooth arrival experience after a long day of travel is essential for the comfort of the guests, and even more important, for giving them a nice first impression of the destination itself. Unfortunately, that didn't happen to us. Moreover, we were met with a very aggressive attitude when things didn't go as expected, and instead of trying to calm things down, the hotel management escalated the tension to an almost unbearable level, and I sincerely hope the same level of aggressiveness won't be shown when and if they reply to this review.
Let me start by highlighting the positive aspects:
- After all the inexcusable incidents of the arrival day, things started to improve from the second day onwards, and the service got way better. The hotel was able to improve our experience during our stay, which is why I am giving it a general 3 points out of 5.
- Breakfast was excellent, very charming ambiance, great background music, and the gentleman who worked there during the first 3 days of our stay did a perfect job.
- Great bathroom amenities from Chopard in the room; quality of the towels, bed sheet and bathrobe was great; room was very clean, and the daily turndown service is a plus.
- The manager apologized to us after the first day incident described below, which shows a dignified and honorable attitude.
Now to the negative part, which almost obfuscated any positive aspect of our stay. A month before our arrival, the hotel sent us an email asking for our estimated arrival time, which was promptly replied. We arrived little less than an hour before the check-in time, which is 3:00 p.m. We were met by the general manager, who accommodated us in the lobby while making all the necessary stuff and talking to us about our trip. Everything was going very smoothly, and being aware of the official check-in time, we were not in a hurry. However, after a considerable amount of time of small talk in the lobby, we started to notice that something was wrong. That was not a normal length for any check-in process. That's when, around 2:35 p.m (30 minutes after our arrival), the manager informed us that one of the rooms we'd booked wasn't ready, because the previous guests did not vacant the room by the right time. So they would need some time to clean the room before my parents could get in, which, according to his words, wouldn't be later than 3:05 or 3:10 p.m. He then said he would think of a compensation to give us due to that delay (we didn't ask for any compensation until that point, he spontaneously offered it) . At first, we didn't bother with that small delay, considering that at least one of the rooms was ready. However, right after that, we noticed something was going wrong there. The hotel staff started to get agitated. More than 30 minutes after we started our check-in process, we still hadn't receive our passports and credit card back. The manager then disappeared for some minutes, running nervously to the guestroom area.
It was when we realized the previous guests were actually STILL inside the room. At that time, it was almost 3:00 p.m. When the manager returned, he informed us that the guests were still there, and said that those kind of unforeseen circumstances might happen anywhere. By that time, it was clear that my parents' room wouldn't be ready by the time frame that was previously mentioned. When the manager joked that if the guests kept refusing to leave the room, he would personally remove them from there, I joked back that maybe they could discount my parents first night stay in that room and charge those irresponsible guests a late check-out fee, since the laziness and complete lack of common sense from those guests were delaying our day. That's when we were met with an anger explosion by the manager, who started to yell at me that he was the manager of the hotel and didn't need anyone to give any suggestions on how he should do his job. He yelled that he wanted to make clear the position of each person in that room, and that he would manage the property the way he wanted. We were left in shock with that unbalanced reaction. I deal with clients in the hospitality industry as well, international travelers like us, and I know how difficult it can be sometimes. But if there's one thing we need to have to work in this market, it is the patience and the ability to think on our feet when we face a problem. We cannot vent our angriness towards our guests. The same way he was having a rough day, we were also tired after a long trip, and we were starting to feel harmed by that long check-in process and the delay in getting my parents room ready.
When I joked about charging our first night stay from the previous guests, I told it in a humorous way, just a way to extravasate our frustration, just a loud thought, the same way the manager joked before that he would personally take the previous guests out of the room (which of course he wouldn't do). However, I wasn't even given a chance to explain myself. The manager got so out of control, that even my parents later admitted that they stood quiet by that time because they were afraid of a possible violent escalation of the conflict. I guess he realized how unbalanced his reaction was right after his explosion, because immediately after that, he offered a vacant room for my parents while the other room was starting to being cleaned. He tried to calm things down by saying he would think of a compensation for that (which, by the way, was never offered/given), and in a wrongful and unsensitive way, he even suggested that we should have a positive thinking, because if we think positive, issues like the one that had just happened wouldn't happen again (yes, I guess it is our mindset's fault that the previous guests were disrespectful to the hotel rules and that the hotel didn't manage the problem well).
I always thought there were rules that should be followed in any hotel. If a guest cause any disturbance, smokes inside the room or breaks anything, he might suffer consequences. The same way, if a guest was not given any late check-out privilege, and the same guest refuses to vacant the room for the next one, he/she should be charged a late departure fee. But according to the manager, there's nothing he can do about it, and we should understand that this kind of situation might happen sometimes. And if we dare to complain, we will be met with an explosion of anger. I guess the hotel would also be very empathic and understanding if anyone cancel their stay less than 24 hours before check-in due to any unforeseen circumstances and demand a full refund, right? The rules must be the same for either sides of the counter. Instead of being firm with the previous guests, they opted to yell at the new guests who were just arriving. It was a terrible start, and I might say it even gave us a bad first impression of the destination. All that angriness and bitterness kind of ruined our first day, it is a little bit hard to stay where you don't feel welcome. We even considered moving to another hotel, but being high season, it would be something difficult at that point.
After we returned from bitter our walk in the city, my parents room was finally ready. And then we had our second issue of the day, when we realized the room they had been given was very different from the pictures from the hotel's official website. Way smaller and tighter, and less private. The manager wasn't there anymore by that time, we complaint with the front desk, whose answer was that the hotel puts their best room from each category in the website pictures due to marketing purposes, and that the characteristics of each room inside the same category might have a huge variation. Well, then I guess they should sell each room separately, or at least they should put an advice on their website stating that the pictures are just illustrative and the rooms might have a big difference inside the same category (I am not talking about small differences like the disposition of the furniture or the color of the walls, but huge differences concerning the room size and the lack of privacy in the bathroom area, depending on which room you are assigned). After a few more minutes of discussion, a good solution was found: on the second day of our stay, two other rooms from the same category would get vacant, and my parents could choose one of those rooms to move to. So, on the day after, they moved to a new room - and that's when things started to improve.
When the manager showed them the new room, he apologized to me for his behavior the previous day, recognizing he overreacted to my comment, and explained he was very nervous because of all that situation with the previous guests. As I wrote before, that was a very honorable attitude, which certainly contributed to improve our guest experience from the second day onwards. That, along with the fact that the hotel did its best to accommodate my parents in another room, made space for a more relaxing and overall nice stay.
However, I cannot ignore the fact that our first day was badly harmed due to all the stress caused not only by the situation itself, but also by the overreaction to a simple comment that was made. It scared my parents, and it left me speechless. Since I did not want to escalate any tension, and was only trying to help my parents to have a comfortable stay, I stayed quite - but I guess the disappointment on our face was pretty clear. I really hope all that incident served at least to teach a lesson on how to deal with unforeseen circumstances like that. I really think it could have been handled in a very different way from the beginning - they had more than 2 hours from the official check-out time until our arrival time to manage those irresponsible guests. It seemed that they only realized the size of the problem when we got there - and then they couldn't hide their own nervousness from us.
By the way, we are very well traveled people and were NEVER really looking for any kind of financial compensation. But a small gesture as an apology, like a handwritten letter, a cheap small bottle of cava or three macarons, would be a sweet and gentle touch that would certainly had made our stay even better. We had minor issues in other hotels, which were responded in that way. It's something small, but it can generate a very good impression. Maybe because of everything that happened, the manager has never sent us the email with his restaurant recommendations - something that I've read in other reviews and that he told us he would send when we checked in.
Once again, this very long review is not written with any revenge intention, but as a constructive criticism, and I hope it can be understood in that way. Thanks for the apologize and for helping my parents to get a room that was more suitable for their needs.
- Cody W (10/5): We absolutely loved our stay at Summum and would recommend it 100 times over. - I can't recommend Summum Boutique Hotel enough. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful all throughout the entirety of our trip. Everyone from the front desk staff to the bellman and cleaning crew were incredibly pleasant. Our room was very large, amenities were really enjoyable and easy to use, everything was spotless, and the hotel was both beautiful and located in a great location. *All* of the small details, even those that you might not usually notice, are intentional and purposeful at this property - the way the staff greets you and helps you with your bag/cars, where each item is placed within the room, the cleaning staff leaving small chocolates each day and a water bottle, and the requirement to book amenities (ie spa downstairs) so you're not being "bothered" by other people/guests while enjoying it. I would recommend this property to others 10 times out of 10 and will certainly be returning in the future. I rented a car for my stay on Mallorca knowing that streets were tight and I'd have to pay $22/day for parking at Summum. I was a little bit bothered to find that an additional fee was placed on my parking for it to be stored close to the hotel - something I wasn't warned of nor did I ask for. The staff helped with the car each day we left and returned to the hotel - being quick and swift to take our keys and park/pick up the car to/from the hotel, which I appreciated greatly. I wouldn't have changed my plan with regard to parking had I known about this fee, but it felt a little bit sly to tack it on the bill when we were leaving for the airport. I don't remember the exact amount of the charge but I think it came out to about 80EUR for 5 days - a seemingly large cost on top of the 22EUR/day that I assumed would've covered such a cost.
- Sunshine51447222846 (4/5): Not as expected - Beautiful hotel, bed was very comfortable. It is impossible to wash your hands as the faucet is too small for the sink, the drawers in the cupboard are way to low n only a few. The night stands are way too small as well. Such a big room, minimalist decor doesn’t suit much! The towels were a bit worn out too.the lighting in the bathroom wasn’t great to put make up on as you have to hold the magnifying hand mirror.
Staff extremely nice.
- W7558MZmariat (10/5): Comfort, Charm, and Remarkable Hospitality - We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in every way: the hotel’s location in the beautiful old city is excellent, the interior is full of charm, and the rooms are extremely comfortable. Above all, what made our experience truly memorable was the exceptional staff and service. The attention and care we received from every member of the team felt as genuine and thoughtful as that of family.
- leigh (10/5): Simply stunning - One of the best boutique hotels I’ve stayed in. The staff are incredible and so friendly, the hotel is beautiful and well placed in the city centre but very quiet too. The rooftop plunge is a must at sunset. Highly recommend.
- Peter (10/5): Lovely trip to a beautiful city, and a superb hotel - Beautifully positioned in old town. Exceptional and very friendly team of staff. Super helpful and nothing too much trouble. Nothing

Zimmer schmutzig
Spa Bereich schmutzig
Kein 5 Sterne würdig eher 3 total überteuert Personal Schulen
Und Alles besser säubern
Wir hatten Spa gebucht privat stand noch Tee Tasse vom Vorgänger
- T191VIclared (10/5): A hidden gem where you won’t be disappointed - Pedro and the team have something truly special here. Hidden up a side street, a stones throw from the retail area of the city lies the Summum Boutique Hotel.
Before you even walk in the scent from the hotel fills the street outside, a scent I have fallen in love with and the hotel team have kindly shared with me.
Friendly staff greet you with a chilled glass of local Cava excited to share their knowledge of this magnificent city before a guided tour of the hotel which is steeped in history and is explained along the way.
The decor is classy and doesn’t detract from the original features and our room was quiet even though we were on the first floor just off the bar.
The breakfast and egg menu was just perfect and I would recommend you book the roof top and plunge pool as you have the space to yourself. Perfect for an hour or so after a day of exploring Palma.
We will return because I couldn’t think of anywhere else more perfect to stay.
Thank you again to you all
- hishama953 (10/5): Palma in style. - A beautiful time in Palma made even better staying in this hotel, situated in the old town close to shopping boutiques, cafes and restaurants. The hotel is newly refurbished. My room was spacious and beds comfortable. The terrace, where breakfast is served, is a great start of the day. But what really sets this hotel apart is the team looking after guests. They pay special attention to guest requests and provide a very high level of service. Buildings and locations can be found in other properties but the care I felt here is unique. We enjoyed staying here so much we extended our stay for a couple of nights.
- hisham (10/5): Palma in style - The hotel has an excellent location, close to everything in Palma, cafes, restaurants, shops, etc. the room i had was spacious and very comfortable. But the important aspect of the hotel is the staff. They have an absolutely wonderful group of staff, eager to make your stay very comfortable. It was truly as if i was at home. Breakfasts is served in the terrace in a beautiful setting and the food is great. It was my first visit to Mallorca and staying here made this experience a whole lot better. There are a few points that could be improved upon. The corridor of the third floor towards our rooms was very warm due to the fact that access to the rood top is through the end of the corridor. Another point is the WIFI coverage. It does not cover the entire Terrance area. If i am sitting near the building no problem but if i get a table by the wall i have to connect to my hotspot. My last point is the experience would have been more enhanced if the room had either an iron or a steamer. It makes it easier for last minute change of clothing.
- Nicolea55555 (10/5): Highly recommend this beautiful hotel - I had an absolutely amazing stay at Hotel Summum. The property itself is stunning—a beautifully restored historic building with a modern, luxurious touch. My room was spacious, elegant, and incredibly comfortable, with thoughtful details that made me feel pampered. The service was outstanding—every staff member was warm, attentive, and went out of their way to make my stay special. I especially loved the rooftop terrace with its pool and panoramic views over Palma, which created the perfect atmosphere to relax after exploring the city. The location couldn’t be better, right in the heart of Palma, walking distance to shops, restaurants, and major attractions. Everything from the breakfast to the overall vibe of the hotel felt five-star. I can’t wait to return
- Kai (10/5): -
- David (10/5): Just excellent, the best hotel I've stayed in for years - The building, the rooms, the staff, the private pool on the roof, everything was so chilled out, while being incredibly professional and the did I mention the staff, just an excellent spot. That I didn't have more time here
- C8604BTbruceh (10/5): Top Notch - Top 3 nicest rooms I’ve stayed in. Compares to the Waldorf Astoria but with a boutique personalized vibe.
Short walk to the Palma cathedral and great restaurants. They recommended a handful to try. Staff went above and beyond to make us feel at home. 10/10 would recommend
- Philip (10/5): A home from home for me. - The location is great. Within walking distance from just about everything Palma has to offer.
2025 was my third year staying at the Summum Boutique Hotel. I'll be back, for sure.
And once again I have to mention the hotel staff members, from management to room service, professional, friendly and ready to assist. I really have no complaints.
- Miriam Pozzoli (10/5): - Summum Boutique Hotel is an exceptional property that combines refined elegance with warm hospitality. The building itself is stunning — a beautifully restored historic palace with tasteful, luxurious interiors. My room was elegant, quiet, and beautifully furnished, with premium amenities and thoughtful details. The staff were outstanding — professional, kind, and truly dedicated to creating a personalized experience. I especially enjoyed the rooftop terrace and peaceful inner courtyard. The location is unbeatable, just steps from Palma’s historic center, shops, and fine dining. A truly special and memorable stay — perfect for those who appreciate boutique luxury.
