Guest Reviews
- Mark (8/5): A pleasant flat which is located outside of the LEZ but close enough for a quick Uber to the city. - The flat was literally 100 yards from some local shops, including a Greggs... so we had very easy access to supplies and breakfast if needed. We were about 15-20 minutes by Uber from the Royal Mile (£10-13) and a nice easy 30 min walk to the Zoo.
On street parking was free and incredibly easy - we never struggled to park directly outside the flat. It was also well out of the low emission zone which was the main selling point for me, as I drive an older diesel.
The flat was well equipped with working kitchen, walk-in shower and a very large living room with table for 4. The bedrooms where also large and had great wardrobes with iron, ironing board and hair dryer. Basically as somewhere to stay on for a few days while visiting the city, the flat had everything you'd ever need.
The central heating was fantastic, and even though you're on a busy road it's surprisingly quiet.
Everything was clean & tidy. Honestly the pillows are well beyond needing to be replaced. They where so lumpy it was like cotton balls stuffed in an old sock. This is the only negative comment I have.
1 final thing I will say is that the mattresses are on the firmer side - which was absolutely fine for me as I do like a firm mattress, but my mother who has arthritis really struggled. My partner also mentioned she found the bed a bit too firm for her liking. This isn't a complaint, more of a 'heads up' to any one out there with a bad back or bad joints.

- Ashleen (5/5): Montgomery apartments - We like the location as a family. Really easy to commute to Edinburgh city centre. Local shops and takeaways a 2 minute walk away. Close to the tram.
2 spacious bedrooms that accommodated us as a family of 5. Good WiFi also. The apartment could do with a few little extras to make it more appealing. Not decorated as well as it could be.
On arrival there were a few kitchen items missing but once I contacted the owner they came in the next day to replace the dish cloth, tea towel and oven glove that was missing. Also the unstable table and dining chairs were fixed as requested.
They also replaced the duvet in the main bedroom as requested.
Toilet seat was loose which needed fixed but all in all what we needed it for it served its purpose. I think it was a bit expensive for what it was but overall the property was fine.
- Shep D. (9/5): I wanted to stay longer! Scotland is such an amazing country, and this place was perfect for ramblin - The location was absolutely amazing for what we needed. it was 5 mins to the venue for a concert we were attending, and only a few mins further to the city for us to explore. The short walk to the shops, greggs, and takeaways was unrivalled! Lack of plugs in the room, although the host left us with an extension where needed!
- Wilson (10/5): - Great location, comfortable beds . Home from home

- Marco Escaleira (8/5): Great if you have a car and want to visit Edinburgh - Comfy and easy to access. Decently decorated and had good amenities for daily cooking.
Location was quiet and easy to park which made life easy. Not a specific to point out, potentially a bit pricey but was still a fair value for money.
Nada
- Duncan (7/5): -
- Kobe (7/5): -
- Salahuddin (8/5): - Kitchen amenities, parking space, peaceful neighbourhood and cleanliness. Room heating was suboptimal, old and wobbly furniture (cupboard in one of the rooms, centre table) and lumpy pillows.
- Michelle (8/5): Great stay in a quiet part of Edinburgh - Close to shops and public transport
- Vinicius (10/5): -
- Mirek (8/5): -
- Denis (9/5): Très bien - Super appartement bien situé. Très propre et bien équipé pour 4 personnes.
- John Kuka (10/5): - Decent and accessible None
- Varun (9/5): - The property was very well managed, clean and spacious. All essentials that makes the stay a lot more comfortable and easy to travel nearby were in place and in the right condition. Perfect for stay with family or with a group of friends. Keep maintaining the place in the same condition that would make me come back for it! Nothing in particular. Would have loved it the washroom is a bit more spacious, given that there's only one for a 2 bed flat

- Kawahara (8/5): Very good - It was clean, fairly spacious, and near the bus stop. We could not get the washer/dryer combo to dry and there was no instruction manual.
- Seeba (8/5): Very good -
- Bharath (5/5): Passable -
- Abhishek (8/5): A good home stay. - Everything was fine.
Comfortable home.
Best thing was we did not have to do the dishes before leaving. Centre table was too shaky. Couldn’t be used much. The first room’s door knob was broken from inside.
Only 1 washroom.
- Jinky (9/5): Superb - Everything was lovely about our stay. Communication with owner was very good. Not walking distance from the city center but very near bus stop.
- Nyanhongo (8/5): Very good -
- Lino (5/5): Not impressed - Spacious Washing machine not working properly and cat entering into rooms at night
- Thomas (7/5): Good -
- Edgerton (1/5): Bad - I felt dirty staying here. The carpets felt dirty, the bedding had holes in it. The stuffing was coming out of the comforters. The washing machine was dirty. I wouldn’t stay here again, even if it were free.
- Timothy (8/5): Quiet suburban flat in Edinburgh with public transport options. - Montgomery Apartments are located in a quiet part of suburban Edinburgh within 15 minutes of tram stops and bus stops. The apartment itself is a ground floor two-bedroom apartment with a modern bathroom and full kitchen. The beds were comfortable, and the majority of the apartment had floorboards or tiles. The carpet in the bedrooms was a little dated and musty.
- Katrina (9/5): Lovely place , clean, tidy , everything needed in property , would recommend & use again . - It was spacious, clean and tidy , everything we needed for a few days stay . It was a little further away than we anticipated but Ubers were easy to get , only one small thing a lamp in the main bedroom would have been useful, all in all a very lovely place to stay , thank you
- Janhavi (10/5): Exceptional - The rooms were very spacious and definitely value for money. We had some issues in one of our rooms and the staff attended and resolved it quickly. No complaints.
- Melva (8/5): Very good -
- Ellen (10/5): Great apartment for Edinburgh stay - Lovely little apartment. The welcome book was such a great touch. Had everything you would need to know in it. The only (very small) complaint was that there was no can opener!!
And nothing to do with the apartment but the neighbour did have a very noisy dog.
- Jeyjo (7/5): Nice stay - Cosy apartment. Excellent location. Easy to get anywhere. Has shops and bus stand nearby which makes stay and travel convenient. Wish kitchen would be stocked with a few items like sugar and coffee which are used on a daily basis
- Oliver (7/5): Good location - The property is good value for money and clean. There is a smoke detector in the kitchen, which goes off if you try and cook something.
- Lorisa (9/5): Superb -
- Eng (9/5): Location ideal with shops nearby - ie Tesco express - Great apartment all on one floor. All amenities with full kitchen, Close to bus stops that are direct to Edinburgh city centre. Bus ride to tram also possible Loved everything
- Valentína (7/5): Good -
- Melis (1/5): Cleanliness - Location was good The property was very dirty, hair left in the shower, mould around the shower, dust and hair left on the floor, mites found on the sofa. It wasn't left in a welcoming way for us. My 11 month old son was unable to crawl on the floor with how dirty the property was.
We were surprised how this property could even be listed on Booking.com, which is a reputable company, with visible mould on the silicone which cannot be cleaned off as it's built up over time.
- Jeorge (10/5): It was a luxurious stay and feeling like we were home. - Every thing was provided and very homey We’ve heard the foot steps banging on the floor above us, especially during our first night.
- Kosmo (9/5): Superb -
- Sofia (8/5): Very good - Good location, very quiet neighbourhood and super close to the supermarket. Good value for money. The beds were not very comfortable.
- Ann (10/5): Comfy accommodation - The flat was spacious, comfortable and clean. Drafty front door, which needs a draught excluder. We used our own picnic blanket as a draught excluder, which really helped.
- Afzal (8/5): Very good - Very quite neighborhood and Ali's restaurant was just 2 mins walk and very good food.
- Pritam (5/5): Very convenient for the city and the zoo. - Two outstanding points are the host is extremely responsive and my pre-arrival queries were answered pretty much immediately. The location is brilliant too. 4 minutes drive from the Zoo which we wanted to visit and 5 minutes from a bus stop which takes 20-25 minutes to get into town. Tesco's round the corner and many places to grab food locally. The place is very tired and needs some work now to do it up. The single beds were really uncomfortable, the mattresses at the end of their life, as it happened as it was for our young kids they were ok but an adult wouldn't be comfortable in them. The sheets were clearly cleaned but would have been nice to have been pressed/ironed. The curtains in that room with 3 beds had some kind of tomato sauce stain at the top and the cupboards were very rickety. The bedroom with the double bed was ok.
The kitchen is well fitted and things generally work. One of the gas rings is not working anymore but we didn't really need them to all work for what we wanted.
The sofa in the front room has rips in it. The TVs ok, takes an HDMI cable but don't support casting.
The front door, in the welcome video has 2 locks but actually only the bottom lock is there - a mortice one, which means you have to lock it at night.
- Helen (9/5): Superb - Incredible value for money - spacious, comfortable, and well equipped. 30 min bus ride to centre, running frequently, including a night bus each hour.
- Mandie75 (4/5): Would not recommend - Fairly close to transport links. Had just enough facilities to make it bearable. The odd damp, grubby smell to the place especially bedding and bedrooms. Beds not particularly comfortable 1 of the single beds had broken springs. No privacy blind in bathroom as on lower floor. Blinds don't work properly in lounge. Toilet seat need fixing. Oven settings not there so having to guess when cooking. Lighting either not working or poor. Just generally could do with a deep clean and an update. For the price was very disappointed.
- Mark (3/5): don't stay here! overpriced. unless you like being monitored without your consent - location is 30 minutes to attractions. 30/40 min bus ride each way. owners come inside unit unannounced. ring door. bell not disclosed. owners arrive at property without notification or approval. we were under surveillance and this was not disclosed in agreement. owners arrived 30 min before check out time. waiting for us to leave. beds poor condition. unacceptable. inadequate outlets in bedroom. none in bathroom. way overpriced for the old antiquated facilities. owner not cooperating with our requests. poor location to attractions. have to use taxi to get around to avoid long bus rides.
- David (8/5): This location was perfect for our trip. - We enjoyed our stay and found the place comfortable for our needs. Blackout curtains!!!!!!!!! This would be a wonderful addition to ensure quest can sleep well
- Ashok (8/5): Very good -
- Charlie (10/5): Exceptional -
- K (7/5): over all was good. - Location is very good and transport is easy. The value of rate should be reduced.
- Kolev (10/5): Exceptional -
- Tibor (7/5): Good -
- Barbara (9/5): Superb -
- Ban (10/5): Exceptional - near to all amenities additional towels to be provided for stays longer than 2 nights
- Paulius (10/5): Exceptional -
- David (10/5): Exceptional -
- Charles (9/5): Everything was well. Manageable issues that was sorted immediately. - location is ideal for travelers needing to reach in town and airport Checked that the fire alarm was hanging but was prompt in fixing it though. Internet router was just a bit off at start.
- Roshini (10/5): Exceptional -
