Guest Reviews
- Irina (10/5): I stayed for a month! I Just kept extending because I was comfortable and didn’t want to move. - Beautiful property tucked away from the noise of the Main Street.
Lovers having a pool and the banana pancakes a breakfast were amazing!
Really welcoming and friendly staff!
Definitely would stay again!
- Richard (8/5): Great stay for chilling - Very clean, friendly staff, free breakfast, nice chill area and great value Very quiet, not very social.

- nabil (10/5): Very good location and super friendly and helpful staff - Very good location, wonderful swimming pool and Nice staff! We even booked extra nights as we enjoyed a lot!
Good and cheap Warung near by (restaurants) All clear
- Luca (10/5): -
- Vass (10/5): - Staff were nice and very good location, it is not a party hostel I would recommend it for people who want to have a more chill time but still you are able to meet some young people.
- Alexandra (7/5): Gerne wieder ☀️ - * Sehr schöne Bungalows
* Größe des Zimmern
* Riesiges und bequemes Bett
* Die Anlage ist gepflegt, grün und sauber
* Großer Pool
* Junges, freundliches, hilfsbereites Personal

- Caroline (1/5): I paid twice for a room and they never gave me the money back - The rooms are basic but could be improved, better curtains, some beds when the private light is on at night, light the whole room. Common space are nice. If you pay by card, they charge you for their mistakes and never give your money back !
My friends, some other guests and I experienced really bad situations with the staff, some were about organisation like excursions, extension of stay, half the staff was completely incompetent and even tried to pin on us their mistakes.
The most outrageous thing that happened is I paid two nights by card during my stay and they informed me that they made a mistake on the amount, they charged too much and they did the transfer so I could be reimbursed, asking me to pay for the two rooms again.
I told them that I wanted to wait to see when the reimbursement came, everyday they came harrassing me to make the payment again which is very unprofessional in hospitality and unpleasant for the guests.
The day I left so 3 days after they supposely reimbursed me, I still had nothing and to be nice to them, I finally accepted to pay again. Conclusion 3 weeks after, I never received the money, I paid twice for their room and they keep saying that they did everything right.

- Olivia (10/5): Super nice place to relax but still be in the centre of Ubud. Could book all the local tours from this hostel and staff - Lovely staff, lovely property which is in the centre but feels lovely and quiet. Nothing.
- Hannah (9/5): A charming hostel on the edge of the main route. - The grounds are stunning, lovely pool and lounge area, small kitchen seating area. Breakfast basic but good. Staff pleasant. Very affordable. The door to the dorms is banging all night with people going in and out, slamming shower doors, everything is open in the dorms from room to room so you hear everyone coming in and out. The bed had a deep groove where everyone else has slept. As much as I loved this hostel for its beauty and charm, I had to move to a quieter hostel.

- Ashley (8/5): - Really nice garden area and pool. Good location For a room of 8 people there is only 1 in room bathroom that is also the shower. Foam mattresses that were very worn in.
- Kristian (7/5): Mostly great but some room for improvement on security. - The location, the gardens, the pool and my villa. The security needs to be improved. Some people had things stolen and also my padlock didn’t seem the most effective. Also the bathrooms could have a bit more maintenance.
- Adalis (10/5): -
- Adalis (10/5): Kindness that makes the difference! - I had a wonderful stay at In Da Lodge 💛
Even though breakfast officially starts at 8am, the night guard kindly prepared it for me at 6am on several occasions when I had early excursions — such a thoughtful touch.
The restaurant staff are incredible: always smiling, kind, and truly caring. They make you feel at home and go out of their way to help.
A perfect place to stay in Ubud. I felt genuinely looked after. To rent a towel.
- Adalis (10/5): Truly caring staff, unforgettable stay - I had a wonderful stay at In Da Lodge 💛

A perfect place to stay in Ubud. I felt genuinely looked after. Im general, when I have to pay to use a towel.
- Jordan (10/5): Really relaxing - Arriving here after Canggu was a relief ahaha,
You come in to a beautiful and very green place. i have nothing bad to say really (a few power shortage during one night but otherwise everything was perfect!)
- Carina23 (8/5): Great hostel in the center of Ubud - The hostel is located in the center of Ubud, which is amazing, you can easily walk around town. I extended my stay about four times because it was affordable and great.
The free breakfast is incredible considering how little you pay for the accommodation. I requested just fruit since I’m vegan, and it was always great.
The beds are clean, but the bathroom cleanliness could sometimes be improved, although for the price, I wouldn’t complain much.
The staff are great and very helpful. The venue itself is beautiful, with a garden and a pool around. I felt very welcomed the whole time, thank you! I arrived late for check-in, and they asked me to leave my passport overnight, which I didn’t like. It felt uncomfortable since the value of my passport is far greater than what I was paying to stay there. I had to leave it because they only accepted cash after 11 pm and I didn’t have any.
Other than that, everything else was good.
- Scoles (8/5): -
- Kimberley (10/5): Love it ❤️ - Everything Nothing
- Van den Bosch (10/5): The place to be for backpackers - Alles aan deze plaats is zeer mooi en verzorgt.
- Liz (8/5): -
- Sandra (7/5): -
- Pawel (6/5): - Easy enter and lots of space. One girl from reception wasn't nice, not just for me but for other people as well. I got an unclean blanket.
- Lou (10/5): -

- Annie (4/5): - Clean and comfortable No social life at all
- Baris (8/5): - Location, breakfast and fair price, personal My bed wasn't that comfortable,

- Natascha (7/5): I still love In da Lodge even if I am not a big fan of the new dorm-building. - I am a fan of the In Da Lodge, very friendly staff, nice atmosphere, lovely breakfast.
But I prefer the private rooms or the old dorm rooms there. The common showers for the dorms (new additional building) were not very well maintained, there was old stuff like razors from other people lying around and the way how the floor is made there doesn't seem to be really cleanable.
And in that added dorm building all the different shared rooms are very open (door = curtain), so it was freezing cold since in one room somebody had set the aircon at 17 degrees. Also the light could be turned on and off only for all the rooms (6 in total) at the same time. That was a loss of decision making within your own room with your roommates. ;-)
- LR (8/5): -
- Isabela (10/5): Super recomend - The best Hostel I been ever , clean, confortable, good location, good breakfast and staff
- CozzerRose (9/5): - Great hostel room and perfect place to stay in Ubud Only thing was lockers for small bag only
- Leon (6/5): -
- Cristian (9/5): -
- Ghulam (10/5): Excellent - It’s nice property ,excellent location They did not allow outside food and kitchen
- Sneha Sudhir (8/5): - It was in prime location. The ambience was good since you got to meet and interact with people in the hostel set up. The breakfast buffet option was really poor.
I took a private room and had a lot of issues with hot water which they fixed promptly but was still an annoying experience
- Kimberley (10/5): Really nice stay - I really enjoyed my stay at the lodge! The breakfast is basic but good, the atmosphere is relaxed, and it’s clean which I personally find very important. I was initially a bit hesitant about that, since I had read in some older negative reviews (from about a year ago) that there were mice. But I think they’ve solved that by “hiring” a few cats. The only time I saw a mouse was just outside the accommodation, dead in the mouth of one of the cats so that seems to be working well.
I stayed for a total of 12 days in a private room. It was a very nice room with a closed-off, brand-new bathroom, which is especially great for someone with a cockroach phobia 🤭 If I could mention one point for improvement, it would be that the lodge’s restaurant seemed to lose track a bit during Nyepi. I understand why, normally many people eat out, but since you’re not allowed to leave during Nyepi, everyone wants to eat at the lodge, and things got a bit chaotic. Maybe a tip for next Nyepi: ask guests 1 or 2 days in advance what they’d like to eat, for example by putting up a list where they can write down their preferred meal and room number. You could even reduce the menu to, say, 5 choices for lunch and 5 for dinner. That way you can prepare much better and maybe even enjoy the Day of Silence a bit more yourselves.
Despite things being a bit disorganized at times, it’s really appreciated that you worked during Nyepi.
- Amelie (10/5): - Really nice hostel. The general vibe of it was so nice, like a little oasis tucked away but still close to everything. Grand palace just 5 mins away aswell as some really pretty streets and markets. The pool area was really nice, could do with some more comfy seating, maybe hammocks. Food was good and good price to, and breakfast included was very nice. I stayed in a 6 person dorm, had shower and toilet and sink in the room which was nice and was generally a nice feeling room. Would definitely stay here again, I even extended by a night aswell.
You must get the red dragon smoothie bowl. It was incredible, cheap and the colour. Wow! My only feedback would be to not have gaps in the bed frame. I was on top bunk and scared my stuff, ipad phone etc was gonna fall though the gaps. There was also no barrier on the side facing the room, but I didn’t really notice. More the gaps in the fence on the other sides worrying my stuff would fall. But not a dealbreaker
- Alek (9/5): - Great location. Supper chill atmosphere and friendly staff.
- Van den Bosch (10/5): Place to be for digital nomads or backpackers - Very nice place and people. Swimming oool, lot of space, clean, nice breakfast,… tip: ask just for fruits if you don’t eat gluten… Nothing to mention.

- pauline (10/5): everything was perfect and sooo beautiful -
- Ika (10/5): The best hostel in Ubud - Best personal, amazing cleaning conditions of the rooms and installation, and the food and breakfast is amazing. I’ve been for 2 weeks in Ubud, I stayed in a few others places in Bali and this hostel is the best for real.
- Mathis (10/5): -
- Maria José (10/5): I would definitely come back - Everyone was friendy and helpful, we stayed in the Family home and the water pressure was a bit low but besides that, the rooms were bright, clean and spacious.
Amazing location, good price quality place.
- Morley (2/5): - I am going to specify that me and my friend booked a private room, this room was nice , very Boho chic and we could connect to the TV which was nice as travelers to watch abit of Netflix. The pictures are a lie , the place is run down , dirty, we had free breakfast included but after I opened the sugar and it had ants crawling around it I kindly declined the breakfast, the dorms across from us looked like a horror movie and the pool was tiny and we didnt do in .our private room was cute but the bathroom was mouldy and outdated. It needs a serious face life and some money invested in the space as it has so much potential of being a fun place to stay. The occupied capacity must be at about 7% and it shows.
- Mark H82 (8/5): Nice location, beautiful grounds - Good location, decent breakfast. Swimming pool is okay Could be upgraded a bit, pool area is very rundown. No real hostel vibe, no events or any social vibe.
- claudia (7/5): Good arrival place, kn the centre - Very quiet, lovely little main house, ground floor dorm, good AC First place wanting to charge me for using credit card
ONE coffee pP
Pretty dark, horrible plastic seat covers everywhere
Staff pretty business oriented (but this was my first night in ubud, I have the feeling this is how it is here)

- Alberto (5/5): - As promised, here is my review after my stay.
Overall, the experience was acceptable, but with several significant issues. I have nothing negative to say about the cleanliness of the rooms, the common areas, and the value for money, which were all satisfactory. Unfortunately, when it comes to flexibility, availability, and problem management, my experience was not positive.
Lack of flexibility and availability
During my stay, I asked a couple of times if it was possible to have breakfast before 8:00 a.m., as I had to leave early. The request was not accepted, and I felt it was treated as an inconvenience despite explaining my situation. I was also suggested to have breakfast outside so other guests would not see me. In the end, I accepted the situation and respected their policy, but without any real support.
On another occasion, I asked if it was possible to receive a refund for one night (excluding Booking’s commission), as I wanted to spend that night elsewhere. The answer was a firm refusal, with no willingness to discuss alternatives. Considering that my stay lasted a month and a half, I expected more flexibility, as I have experienced in other hostels during long stays.
Helmet theft in the hostel parking area
The most serious issue concerns the theft of my helmet. I would like to clarify that when I went out with the scooter, I always stored the helmet under the seat. However, in the internal hostel parking area, I placed it on the mirror, as many other guests did, and the area was covered by security cameras.
At 1:00 p.m., I noticed the helmet was missing and asked the reception staff to check the cameras. They took my phone number and told me they would get back to me. After several hours with no response, I asked again and was given access to the camera footage. I then had to review the recordings myself and identified a tourist who, at 5:00 a.m. during check-out, took the helmet from my scooter while looking around.

- Maria José (10/5): Thank you, I’ll come back - The vibe is very chill ( February) , the staff very friendly and helpful, it comes with a simple breakfast.
Swimming pool area is nice and the hostel is very central located
They offer also tours and laundry service , you can rent towels
They sell meals and drinks as well.
I meet some friendly people ( I’m solo traveler ), I also stay in the family house with a friend and it’s very clean and cute
Thanks
