- Elaine (10/5): Wonderful friendly staff, terrific hotel. - Hotel Stella Bella was fantastic. We messaged for pick up at the bus station and was met by the staff right on time. This saved us from having to carry all our luggage to the hotel. The front desk was very helpful throughout our 9 night stay. They arranged taxi rides when we could not get an uber, they made reservations at the sushi restaurant in Happa One. They went above the level of service to get us to the bus stop on two consecutive days. Once for the monkey park and once for our return trip to Nagano. We loved the breakfast and the dinner. We also enjoyed the onsen every night and did the private one too. I would highly recommend this hotel. We also enjoyed the ski storage so it was easy to store our skis and boots in the locker room. Everything was very nice and the service was exceptional.

La ubicación es buenisima (100/120 mts de la aerosilla, 50 mts de rental de equipos).El desayuno increible (muy completo y calidad de comida y bebida buenisima). La habitación doble es muy cómoda (con espacio para circular y mesita con sillas para sentarse comodos), y las vistas a la montaña son perfectas. Hay un restaurante dentro del hotel (muy importante a la hora de la cena sobre todo). Y varios restaurantes de comida japonesa (y no japonesa) dentro de los 300 mts. Hay onsen (privado y publico, aceptan tatuajes en ambos), hay lockers para guardar equipos de ski/snowboard, hay maquinas expendedoras en el subsuelo, y también laundry. Nada, realmente es excepcional.

- Hollie (8/5): Cosy hotel with friendly staff in the heart of Hakuba. Yummy vegetarian food! - Our room was large, and the bed was huge and very comfortable. The staff were extremely friendly, helpful and welcoming, from front of house to restaurant. For example, the receptionist was super communicative and helped us with our transport to/from the train station, and for getting to Tokyo when we were confused about trains at the last minute. We are both vegetarian, and it can be hard to find healthy, balanced vegetarian meals in Japan, but we loved the breakfast omelettes and the yummy tofu 'steak' (which we ended up eating for dinner almost every day). The chef was always very diligent checking our dietary requirements. I also loved the onsen to warm up after a day on the slopes. The ski lockers and storage facilities are very convenient. It says the hotel is 'ski in / ski out', but that's not really the case - you need to walk up the hill to get to the slopes.

- L (9/5): Lovely hotel and super comfortable stay. - Overall the hotel is fantastic, from the concierge, to the cleanliness, the location and offered facilities like free shuttle bus, luggage forwarding, heated ski locker, onsen and restaurant. The hotel starts with a swift confirmation message with helpful info including link to book the bus tickets. Throughout the facility and the guest room, the hotel is immaculate whether it’s the ski locker or the onsen which is really hard to keep clean given the constant traffic and snow from outside. The onsen obaachan is super cute and her work around the clock to keep the onsen clean or hair free is greatly appreciated. We were given the room hours earlier than the check in time! Great location, 5 mins away to many good restaurants and 7 mins away from Escal Plaza. The restaurant staff possibly quite new so there were many tables have dirty cups and dishes not being cleared and forgot to clear them even when asked. Many dishes could not be kept at their best conditions like the tempuras are stale and the dumplings are overly mushy but the taste are all there, just not in their best forms. Perhaps a smaller range of food or a set meal would be appreciated. Not a dislike but it would be appreciated to let us know that there is a separate entrance to the basement and yukata cannot be worn at the restaurant early on.

Com - Well located being just a short walk to the ski lift at Escal Plaza, and nearby restaurants. Very comfortable bed and friendly helpful staff, including with arrangements for the bus from Nagano to Hakuba. The Stelle Belle bus pickup from the Nagano bus was a nice touch at the end of a long journey to arrive in Hakuba. Nothing comes to mind.

Option available for public/private onsen facilities, although booking for private is only possible on the day itself and limited to 30min slots from 1730hr-2030hr. Dry room for snow equipment was clean and spacious. Breakfast was tasty and good amount of weatern and japanese options. Check in has to be done by 9pm.

- Emily (8/5): - It was pretty close to goryu gondola and Toomi sky 4 lifts. Nice view. Good air conditioning/ heating. Bus to pick you up from train station. Breakfast was good. Only a few dinner options around. It was a hike up a hill to the gondola, which was unexpected. We ended up renting lockers at Escal plaza to leave our skis and boots up there so we didn’t have to carry everything up and down the hill. Room was only cleaned once during our stay, would have loved every day. Pillows were a little average.

Our room was amazing, we opted for the Executive Double - great choice, very spacious with the biggest bed I've ever seen! A dedicated place to hang clothes other than ski gear would be helpful - but overall a great experience.

- Lisa (10/5): Perfect for an easy and smooth ski trip - Stelle Belle was the perfect choice for our ski trip. It actually is only a five minute walk from Escal Plaza, even if there’s snow to walk through. We provided our arrival time in the chat the day prior and received a prompt response, our driver was ready and waiting when we arrived at Goryu station which was great as it was dark and there was quite a bit of snowfall. We booked the Western style room with a large double (king size) bed and there was plenty of space - we could have both our suitcases open and still have room to move. The bed itself is super comfy and you get a soft/firm pillow option. There’s basement floor access and lockable storage for all your wet ski gear downstairs, and a vending machine for snacks and drinks, coffee, etc. The outdoor miso tub onsen was perfect after a day on the slopes and 30mins is more than enough as the water is pretty hot. Staff were super friendly and helpful for all our needs and recommended places to eat on a cute hand drawn map of the area. Overall, we loved our stay and would definitely go back!

- Say (9/5): Great place to stay for a ski holiday - Large rooms, with en-suite. And rooms were pretty warm too. The staff at the reception were always very courteous and ready to help. She spoke understandable English too, good enough for me! The breakfast buffet was a little pricey, however the spread was really good. They also pick you up and drop you off at the nearby bus station for those coming in the winter season Short walk from escal plaza, although the path is a little uphill.

- Iaint (8/5): nice stay in Kamishiro, Hakuba - Adorable grandmother greeted us on arrival, helped set the tone. Nice sized rooms and seem as though they were recently renovated. We had a view up the mountain with glimpses of a ski run. Clean property. Good quality linen, mattresses, and pressed yukata for the baths. Ski gear warming room in the basement as is the bath. We found it difficult to get info while planning, so I'm going to share some info that might help. We were coming from Kyoto so took the shinkansen to Nagano then transferred to another train to Matsumoto then a local train (Oito Line) to Kamishiro. This is the closest station to Stelle Bella and they will pick you up from there - it's literally just a few minutes drive away from the property. FYI: There is a bus from Hakuba to Nagano Station takes ~ an hour. Skiing/Riding: 6-7 min walk up the hill to Escal Plaza which is the main center. From here you have access to two ski areas, Goryu and Hakuba47. You will need to take a bus or drive for other areas in the Hakuba Valley. You will need an IC card 500yen for a discounted ski pass which helpfully can be purchased from the front desk of the property. The IC card is refundable at the end of your stay in Hakuba. If wanting better standard ski or boarding gear the rental service on the second floor of Escal Plaza is very good. F&B: Turn left out of the property to our favorite izakaya, "Kamui", just a few minutes' walk away. Excellent service, food, ambience and also well priced.
