Guest Reviews
- JILLIAN (8/5): Lovely hotel & staff - Great property, location and staff. Coffee House downstairs is lovely, we would definitely recommend the hotel and we would stay again in the future. Nothing
- Nic (10/5): Excellent stay, fab helpful hosts! - Everything - clean, comfortable and central. Nothing
- Diane (10/5): Fab hotel,great central location,highly recommended - Clean,warm,comfortable N/A
- patrizia (7/5): - Pulizia stanza e bel bagno
- Ian (10/5): -

- Sharon (7/5): Central location but bad soundproofing!!! Not for those that like to sleep undisturbed at night - Location is great. It's close to lots of restaurants, shopping stores and the bus stops.
The room was also pretty spacious, clean and comfortable Soundproofing is very bad. You hear people across the street in the outside bar even with the windows closed. Also, you can hear people in the rooms across from you. Mine was soo bad that I heard the person next door snoring throughout the night. They snored so loud and so bad thay it felt like they were in the room with me. Needless to say, it was a sleepless night for me.
Another issue I had was with the door. I'm sure Aberdeen is a very safe place, but the door seemed quite old, flimsy and something that could be easily broken into. I don't know if I can recommend this place to solo traveling women in particular. Nothing happened when I was there, but the door just didn't seem secure enough for me.
Lastly, given the size of the room, a small fridge would have been nice to have but it's not a deal breaker.
- Joseph (9/5): Unexpected comfort and great value - This is the first time staying at a hotel like this just above a business, so I didn't entirely know what to expect. If you are looking for a very clean and comfortable room with no frills, then this is the place for you. If you don't have a car, this location seems pretty close to a lot of food and shops. Parking a car falls into the dislike category, as there is no parking, but with the two of us we were able to park in a loading area just long enough to drop off luggage then go park. Although the area around the entrance felt a little sketchy, once inside the pass code protected door, the building felt clean and safe. Aside from the parking issues, it was a great stay for the one night we were in town. I did not like that there is no on-site parking, and the nearest lot was about a 15 minute walk away: but that was mentioned ahead of time so I cannot fault the hotel. Also, my buddy mentioned some street noise from his room, but that is somewhat expected in a street-facing room. Entrance is almost in an alley.
- KATHERINE (10/5): -
- David (10/5): Awesome place and people..Garbage and litter on street a problem. - Central, great breakfast, large room Street front littered with garbage.
- Alison (9/5): Relaxing and comfortable. - Location very central for city. we visited to attend a theatre show and was very conveniently situated, a short walk. Although central, it is in a quiet side street. Room was spacious and meticulously clean. Wide range of teas/coffees provided and a biscuit. Smart TV gave us the opportunity to watch a film late on after returning, an unexpected bonus. Finally, the shower was amazing, with luxury toiletries provided. A most comfortable stay, exceeded our expectations. Would have liked breakfast provided. The rooms are up two short flights of stairs, not an issue for us at all but those with mobility ossues may struggle.
- morag (10/5): Excellent, clean comfortable stay. - Very clean and comfortable, very pleasant man greeted us and the rooms were lovely fresh and very comfortable, breakfast was lovely too Car parking ATM isn’t close by, due to many roads being closed for work, however this isn’t the fault of the property and would still go back and book with confidence.
- Richard (8/5): -
- Duke Constantin (10/5): - Everything was great, and I liked how the "coffee shop" breakfast included was at 9-10 instead of the usual 6.30 am that most hotels have. - pillows were too thick and stiff so I used the thin decorative ones
- There is only a fixe overhead shower and no bidet or a shower head... so every time you go to the toilet, if you want to wash after you have to take a full shower.
- Maddy (10/5): Love Love - This is my favourite place to stay in Aberdeen - it’s so cosy, right in the middle of town. Short walk from train station. Communication is excellent and nothing is too much trouble.
- Fiona (10/5): Value for money, immaculately clean city centre spot - Really generous sized room and very clean Could do with being a bit more sound proof, I could hear next doors conversation
- Jānis (10/5): Ērti apartamenti ēkā ar vēsturi. - Ar gaumi iekārtotas telpas. -
- Flett (10/5): Very pleasant stsy - Central
Very clean
Quiet
No staff Not sure the upgrade was worth it
- Ankush (10/5): - Unkomplizierter Check-In mittels Schlüsselfach. Zimmer war etwas kalt.
- JKC13 (10/5): Great place for two - The location is excellent
Very clean
Comfortable bed
- Jennifer (8/5): It was a discounted rate so was good value for money in an excellent location. - The bathroom and shower were of a high standard. No mirror above dressing table a little noisy during the night
- Claire (9/5): Great base for a city break away - Central location very clean and tidy apartment, easy check in/out Bit noisy at night due to city centre location. Back alley view
- Payne (8/5): Perfect for a short stay - Perfect for a short stay. Very clean and well presented. Staff were responsive by text message and very helpful. There was an extra heater available, spare pillows, towels, iron and coffee/tea. Mattress wasn't the comfiest but fine for a night or 2. It was a little noisy til the early hours but it was a Saturday so that's to be expected.
- Debbie (9/5): - Room was spacious, clean and modern. Lovely toiletries, decent coffee and comfy bed (firm matress) Had to get in touch for entry instructions - however, when I called the chap picked up promptly and sent instructions through there and then.
- Karen (10/5): A great wee place to stay - Central clean and comfortable Nothing
- Chris (9/5): I use the Coffee House as a preference for business work. - Clean, modern and easy to organise Don't go here if you want parking
- Jeffrey (9/5): Great value for money. Excellent location. -
- PG (5/5): -
- Alison (9/5): Great place to stay, when visiting Aberdeen. - Convenient quiet location for attending the Music Hall. Room was lovely and clean, twin beds set up as requested when booking. Top class toiletries provided too. Hadn't received check in details via email, so had to ring for them and still hadn't received them on arrival by taxi, so had to call again from outside and they came through straight away via text and on normal email from Booking.com.
I have stayed before a few years ago and had no issues, so I think this was just an oversight due to being busy, would always book here when staying in Aberdeen.
- Jennifer (9/5): Comfortable and clean hotel right in the city centre - This hotel is located right in the city centre, close to many pubs and restaurants. The hotel rooms are clean, comfortable and easy to access using the door code and lockboxes. Would definitely stay again whenever I visit Aberdeen. I stayed on a Friday night and could hear people shouting outside the pubs until quite late - expected in the city centre but something to consider if you need quiet to sleep.
- Sarah (10/5): -
- Alban (8/5): - Très bon emplacement
- Singh (10/5): - The team is extremely responsive and very helpful. I am grateful to say the least
- Yoko (9/5): -
- Grace (8/5): -
- Ann (8/5): -
- Donald (10/5): Ideal for me - It did not do food I was going into hospital next day for op so could not eat. Bit hard to find in dark Nothing really suited my needs
- Zoe (6/5): Clean, comfortable and lovely shower - Clean and functional room. Good shower. Key pick up out of ours was as described. As solo female traveller arriving in the dark, I would choose a hotel with reception next time.
- Mark (10/5): Brilliant, and comfortable - Staff we great my wife needed a plug to change her pH, and it wasn't a problem, straight away sorted us out, Notting, great location
- Lesley (8/5): - Location
- Tanya (7/5): Good location, easy to access, good value. - We did not have breakfast as we needed to be at University by 9am. It was very central, clean and comfortable. Would stay again. We had requested 2 beds but had a double. Was with my granddaughter (17).
- Jacqueline (7/5): -
- Peter (8/5): -
- Susan (10/5): - Lovely clean room, comfy bed and right in the city centre
- Amy (8/5): Perfect place to stay for central Aberdeen. - It’s the second time I’ve stayed here. Great location. Convenient & easy check-in & out. Clean, spacious and comfortable. Would happily stay again.
- Michał (8/5): Wszystko spoko! - Bardzo przyjemny pokój, wszystko w najlepszym porządku. Dosyć czysto i bardzo przyjemny kontakt z wynajmującymi! Polecam
- Louise (10/5): - Stayed here numerous times never have an issue everything is clean and customer service is excellent!
- Claire (10/5): -
- Carole (10/5): Would recommend. - Great location. Clean, lovely room with Arran soaps. Nothing
- Julia (8/5): - Bra beliggenhet, lett å skjekke inn
- Godefroy (7/5): - Mal insonorisé
- Massie (9/5): - Nice clean room, lovely bathroom Very dark road and so much bins.
- Natalie (7/5): -
- Natalie (7/5): Has so much potential but a bit disappointing - Location was fab! Housekeeper Chloe was soooo lovely, an absolute delight! Room once we swapped was a good size. Nice smelling shampoo/soap. Avoid room 4, it’s small, grubby and seems like an afterthought, no bath. We swapped rooms as I really wanted a bath (reason I booked this hotel), Chloe sorted us out and gave us room 5 which was so much better. It’s just a shame that there’s so many snags in both rooms which can easily be fixed. Just examples- small holes in the walls which could easily be fillered, missing plaster in places, patchy paint, damp in both rooms, no extractor in bathrooms, there’s a vent but smells of cooking oil constantly. The walls are paper thin so can hear the convo of your neighbour, no plugs in the sinks, mold on the grout in the bathroom, scummy sinks, grubby carpets, dirty walls, uncomfortable bed. Really wanted to like this hotel but lots of little niggles which need to be addressed. Needs a proper deep clean, the daily clean isn’t enough. Trip advisor gives you a better idea of the issues when you read it.
- Sara (10/5): -
- Angela (10/5): Great wee hotel in very central location - Great location and cute building
- Katarina (7/5): - The staff was nice. Place has perfect location but walls had peaches, the smell from restaurant were present, windows were dirty. It could be more clean. It really destroys overall impression.
- Merce (6/5): -
- Lillian (9/5): Loved the hotel and location. Very comfortable room and loved the Arran Aromatics toiletries. - Loved the property and the location was great. The access code arrived around lunchtime on day of arrival. It was a relief as I was anxiously checking my phone all morning for it to arrive. Check in was very straightforward once we located the lockbox on the second floor, and per the instructions In email. The room was very nice, we loved the cafe and we’ll definitely be back next time we visit Aberdeen.
- James (8/5): Really enjoyed staying in this very pretty place, with a gorgeous cafe down below. -
- Sam1401 (10/5): -
- Laina (10/5): Charming place with very kind people running it! - Charming, authentic family style hotel!
- lynne (10/5): Excellent - Didnt have breakfast,lo cation excellent,spotlessly clean Nothing
- Graham (2/5): - Fire alarm went off. Took too long for staff to arrive. Room was cold.
- jagat (8/5): -
- Fiona (9/5): Very comfortable bed, central and historic location. - It's very central, just off Union Street. I liked the building, it's old and has a lovely character.
The bathroom was lovely and modern, the shower was powerful and hot. The room was big and the bed was very comfortable. The cafe is very nice and has fluffy blankets. It was a freezing November day and the room was a bit cold. I would have liked the heater to have been warmer, and would have liked the option to turn it up. I also couldn't work out how to double lock the door from the inside, which I like to do in a hotel.
I suggest including other coffees in the breakfast menu, not just americano.
- jean (9/5): -
- Silvia (8/5): -
- Murray (9/5): -
- Alison (9/5): A comfortable, clean room in the heart of the city at a great price. - The room was clean and very comfortable, a great process and excellent location. The cafe for breakfast was welcoming and a lovely space with excellent breakfast rolls. the extractor in the bathroom was not working, but the staff responded quickly when we reported it and offered us a different room, but it didn't cause us a problem, so we stayed put.
- Jodie (10/5): Amazing stay in Aberdeen. This hotel offers a central location aswell as clean & comfy rooms. Our go to hotel in Abe - Absolutely amazing hotel. Go to hotel in Aberdeen. Completely central & spotlessly clean. Nothing!
- Richard (9/5): Good room in a great location - Very pleasant room, nice decor, decent flat screen TV, good shower, great central location All good
- Aleksandra (8/5): Great - Very nice modern rooms, could not be more central. Great and quick customer service from Jennifer .Would definitely stay there again :) Room wasn't checked/refreshed on second day, toilet paper was neither refilled which was problematic
- Elizabeth (10/5): - Everything! So handy for city centre shops and restaurants, super comfortable room with lots of space for our 2 dogs and charming lady who serviced the room and couldn’t do enough for us. We will be back again for sure. Nothing
- Norunn (5/5): Good location, clean room with nice coffee & biscuits, but not the most comfortable sleep. - Central location. Friendly staff. Modern interior. Thin walls to next-door room; the guests there were having a fight during our first night and we could hear everything they said. Also we were not able to sleep. The staff took it very seriously as we complained about it, and we felt cared for. In my opinion, the beds were too hard, and sleeping was therefore a bit on the uncomfortable side. Not enough toiletpaper.

- Pavels (9/5): -
- Lorraine (8/5): - Really nice, convenient place, but no lift.
- Gail (8/5): Very comfortable stay - Central location comfy bed clean room NA
- Paul (10/5): Best place I have stayed in Aberdeen - and I have tried all - The location is perfect for central Aberdeen. I didn’t drive as I know how complicated driving around the centre is, and parking if course. The coach (30 mins from airport) and local buses are quick, frequent and efficient - personal car not needed. Despite being surrounded by restaurants, bars, coffee shops and other eateries, it was also quiet with the window closed. If you like interesting twists on snacks and a fabulous cocktail, within 30 seconds walk there is a luxurious and trendy bar around the corner. The cafe below the hotel is brilliant for breakfast - a daily special ‘Rowie’ is the one to for!
I found the quality of the room and common area lovely, great air con, comfy beds, lots of clothes hangers and I personally loved the smellys in the bathroom. Nothing to dislike
- Louis (10/5): Just what we needed - I was pleasantly surprised by the overall experience. It was a last minute booking for a comedy show and we couldn’t be happier with our stay. We were quick to get into our very clean rooms. The shower was one of the best showers I’ve had in a long time. Would definitely return if I visit Aberdeen again!
- brian (10/5): - Very comfortable. Liked the extra large tea mugs.
- Sharon (7/5): Well located hotel, handy for pubs and restaurants - Location was good - in the middle of a nice area and not far from the train station. Bathroom was new and worked well Room was small and I wouldn’t want to stay more than 1 night because of this. Didn’t really like that there were no public spaces and no reception.
- Bernhard (9/5): -
- Mark (10/5): Perfect. - Good central location, clean, helpful with any questions, happy to help with luggage storage prior to checking time.
- Sandra (8/5): -
- Mary A (10/5): Lovely, spacious, convenient, and reasonably priced place to stay near the train station. - The hotel is an easy walk from the train station, which is exactly what I needed. I stayed in the modern style room for one night before renting a car to explore Aberdeenshire. I left too early in the morning to enjoy their cafe: however, I returned six days later on my way back to the train station for a yummy cafe latte. I will definitely return. All good. No comment here.
