Do like before - I like the close proximity to UAB This property was always nice and clean, coffee available most time at the lobby But This time the the cleanliness is nothing to write home about. The elevator was not clean sticky stuff on the floor, hallway carpet needed shampoo. Bed comfortable but the kitchenette canter top was not clean. I think this place is declining

Really I’m was very spacious. Variety of pillow firmness options. Kitchen area was well stocked. Breakfast was awful. Food was cold, there were hairs in the eggs & on the cheese slices…when pointed out to staff, nothing was done. :( Out of several items and napkins, cutlery, etc were not stocked. My friend ate nothing and I ate just cereal. Appalled at staffs lack of response & we were very nice about the hairs…it happens but the offending food should have been removed. Bed uncomfortable & sheets were scratchy. Lamps were broken & dangling. Room was dreary…no “artwork”. Mirror was dirty, stains on sofa & walls. Shower poured water after turning off for about 30 mins and then dripped loudly all night. Used a washcloth to muffle the sound. Sink was dirty & lotion bottle had “gunk” all over it. “Greasy” smears on door. Shower door was incredibly “tight”. Large person would find it difficult to enter. Toilet tank took forever to refill so had that noise repeatedly too. Available channels on TV were pitiful & the guide was soooo slow. Overall very disappointed. Sign in lobby said “we will make it right”. We did surveys as requested & gave management a chance to reach out before posting this review but haven’t heard a work. We think atleast a refund of breakfast is in order.
- Summer (8/5): Loved the location and safety of the hotel!! - Closeness in proximity to Regions Field. We were able to conveniently walk to the park. The mobile app was good for getting into the room an ice room, but did not work well for the parking lot. Sort of inconvenient but nothing getting a key card couldn’t fix.

- stephenm469 (2/5): Staff shouldn't be in a people facing job - I've never wasted my time with a negative review before but after 4 decades of travelling this was the worst hotel experience I've ever had. The hotel was nice and clean but the woman working the front desk on the evening of March 19tth and the morning of March 20th should not be in a people facing position. She was ignorant and a liar. They charged for parking even though the lot was full and would not give a refund. Then changed the bill after we had checked out and added more parking charges and a $40 pantry fee. We never used any pantry items. She was foul mouthed as well. It was the 2nd Hilton property i stayed in on this trip and there would have been 3 more had she not completely soured me on Hilton. After 30 minutes on hold with Hilton Honors support we got disconnected. They have my contact info but i doubt I'll hear back. Time to close my Hilton Honors account and move on.

Coffee and sugar was not restocked in our room. I had to go downstairs to get pillowcases for the pullout couch bed. Breakfast was all carbs and very little protein or fruit options.

- Victoria (6/5): - We loved the service, the workers were all amazing and nice. The breakfast was great! The pillows were FLAT. It was like sleeping without one. The pullout couch was terrible. The mattress was super flat and you could feel the springs like if it was just a blanket covering it. Also when booking online, it gave me the option to choose an extra bed/or crib. You get 1 free one. I chose to get one bc my kids like sleeping in separate beds. I called to get one once we made it to our room and they told me they don't have rollaway beds or cots or even moveable beds. She asked me didn't I have a pull out couch. I told her that the website asked if I wanted an extra bed. She said she doesn't have them. I would have booked a different room with 2 beds and a pullout couch had it not said I could get an extra bed brought to my room. Other than this all workers including her were really nice. The breakfast was delicious. And the staff were really nice to our kids. I attached a photo of the options on the website. Then I attached a photo of the details of my stay on the app. Which I chose yes and put my 10 year old, which it doesn't show the full details of everything I filled out.

For two weeks now I've been trying to get a refund and everything switched over (I have spoken to FIVE DIFFERENT REPS). No one at Hilton seems to be able to get this fixed and they keep saying it will be (even told me 48hrs one time, and then 2-3 business days another - and nothing...). As far as the Home2 Suites team, they don't seem to be equipped enough to fix this issue either. It's been a horrible experience booking with Hilton and will not be back. Case Number: 261616557

- Jacqueline (7/5): - Location was good. Only 1 elevator of 3 was working and time to get to and from your room to the lobby was long depending on specific times of day. The couch in my room was gross and was not utilized due to how dirty it was.

- Cheryl (7/5): Overall! Good - Convenience to our UAB appointment !! Breakfast was good Staff was friendly Loved everything except the cleanliness of the room and hallway. Hair on the shower wall and in the bathroom sink. The hallway definitely needed to be vaccumed, candy wrappers & Straw covers and mustard packets on the floor for both days. We ask one of the housekeepers next door. could we have two more coffee packets, and she told my husband, "We don't have coffee makers in these rooms" She might have been new?? Very happy with the stay otherwise !!

- Alane (7/5): It was a decent place to stay for a decent price. - The location and the staff were great. Cleanliness could have been better. The sheets for the pull out bed were late and it took an hour for fresh sheets to be brought to the room. The kitchenette counter was sticky. Heavy Stains on carpet and couch.

- Y1450IYcarols (4/5): Loud employee. - Facility was beautiful and the room clean and comfortable. Breakfast was delicious. However, the staff needs better training. 1. At breakfast, an employee, speaking LOUDLY from the first word, ask for my room number. I assumed she was talking to the man right in front of her. Since I saw my husband already sitting with his breakfast, I moved toward him. She again loudly ask for my room number. I walked over to her and quietly said I’d prefer not saying my room number across a crowded room. She said “Well you walked right past me!” 2. Check out is at noon. Since I was going to be driving till midnight, I was going to rest till 11:00. But starting at around 9:30am, an employee was saying “housekeeping” repeatedly and again in a high volume. I exited my room at 10:00,(since there was no chance for resting). I can’t be positive, but from the back, it looked like the same lady as from breakfast.
- BigCane00 (8/5): Home2Suites Is Fine - I was in Alabama to visit some of the civil rights sites. I stayed at this property which consisted of two different hotels: The Home2Suites and Hilton Garden Inn. I stayed at the Home2 Suites for 1 night and then went to Montogomery and then came back and stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn. The combined property is located downtown and is modern and has a new feel. It's very close to bars and restaurants and even close to a Publix supermarket. It is convenient to the University of Alabama Birmingham. There is a restaurant but I did not eat there. The Home2Suites has all suites where you get a separate sitting area. During my stay at the Home2Suites I was able to go to the nearby bars and restaurants. I would stay there again.

- RickQ22 (4/5): Disappointing Home2suites stay in Downtown Birmingham, Alabama - Checked in albeit one hour early at 3:00pm and were offered a second-floor room, we accepted the offer and proceeded to our room, as we had been driving on the interstate and were ready to take showers and relax. The water pressure to the second floor is low and the shower head leaks because of the handle. The shower gel dispenser was 90 % empty, one of the coffee cups was noticeably chipped, the microwave carousel is not the original manufacturer's, there was no dishwashing detergent nor sponge, and finally the curtain that divides the stting area from the bed was entirely missing. Having paid north of $250.00, we are beyond disappointed. Oh, and the duvet and bed sheets are for a Queen-sized bed not a King. Having stayed in Home2suites during cross-country trips, this has been the most disappointing stay to date.

- Lindsay (9/5): Decent hotel, reasonable price, close to UAB hospital - Houseman Gerald was very pleasant. He went and got a towel for my son when he was swimming. Every person who we interacted with during our stay was lovely. Very helpful and polite. Had dinner at the restaurant and the food was really good. Just like our last stay the bartender was super nice and did well keeping up considering he was the only one working and it was busy. The free breakfast was good. Room was clean and well stocked for a long stay Pool towels were not out in the evening and again in the morning but Houseman Gerald got some for us before we were done.

- Traci (6/5): - The check in process was terrible. We had two rooms. One was ready and the other was not. We were told they were cleaning rooms and they would call us when one was available. We waited for about an hour and went back downstairs waited in line but it was not ready. We went back at 410 and were told to stand in back of line for the third time and room was still not ready! I spoke to GM and they finally found us a room on another floor! The Gm was very understanding that we had plans and was on a time constraint.
- Lindsay (8/5): Decent hotel, Very nice staff. - The room was very clean. It was a nice room, wish we had been there for longer to enjoy the room but we were only there for the night for a doctors appointment at UAB. Very convenient location for visiting UAB. We ate at the bar for dinner after we arrived. The food was very good especially the fries, and the fried avocados. We had the free breakfast and it was ok. Pool looked nice from our window but we didn't get a chance to use it since we arrived late and left early. The staff was very pleasant. The bartender was awesome, he was the only person working the restaurant and it was fairly busy. He kept up pretty well for how overwhelmed he was. The floors in the hallways and by the elevators was very dirty. Someone spilled something on the floor near the elevators in both the lobby and on the floor we were staying on and it was still there in the morning when we were leaving. The bartender was alone working the restaurant and bar area by himself. It took a while to place our order and for our food to come out as he was very overwhelmed. Definitely not complaining about him, just the lack of staff working there.
