Guest Reviews
- Viv Andersen (8/5): - Spacious house, well equipped. Walk into town. Large deck. If booking for 8-10 people, note only one bathroom plus separate toilet. No dishwasher. Has a washing machine.
- Jackie (7/5): - The location was great for exploring the Freycinet peninsula and close to Coles Bay shops and eateries.
The rooms and beds were comfortable. We arrived just after a couple of days of high winds, resulting in the deck being covered with fallen debris. It wasn't a trip hazard for us, as we have no mobility issues, but it could have been for others.
The wind had also resulted in some dust and debris falling on the couch near the window. We have exposed beams and timber lining in our own house, so we know this can be an issue after storms. I'd suggest that the property be inspected after storms if guests are expected.
- Hunt (9/5): The house suited our needs well. - The house suited our needs very well. The hot water didn't seem to last very long and we did have some trouble getting the main front door to lock .
- Sarah (6/5): Quiet bush location with spacious tidy house. Not too far from town centre/ jetty and national park. - Quiet bush location and house was tidy and spacious.
Good first impression as we walked in.
Kitchen was stocked well with utensils, crockery etc. Venetian blinds are in need of urgent replacing.
Kitchen and bathroom floors had some sort of sticky felt/carpet. They had stains ( eg: urine around the toilet etc) and hair ….unhygienic and smelly.
Some of the outdoor furniture on the deck near the fireplace was broken ? chewed.
The fireplace needs accurate instructions re vent (top left side ) eg: lever to the left or right to allow / reduce airflow etc….especially helpful when starting fireplace. Weather was cold, we needed both the heat pump and fireplace. The main bedroom had an electric blanket but not the other bedroom with a queen bed.
- Lyndall (8/5): Nice, comfortable stay - Fire place, comfortable beds, washing machine House seemed older then what we thought from the photos
- Kathy (8/5): House was good and comfortable - having 2 toilets was a bonus. - Outside and balcony areas cleaned and furniture updated - there was possum poo all over.
- Carol (6/5): The location was fine , would be a good pjs e for a large group or family. - It was large, comfortable bed, fully equipped kitchen. Mostly clean , as it could be but some things need upgrading like flooring and blinds.would be good for a large family or kids.lots of room to spread out. The blinds didn’t work properly some were broken. I didn’t like the flooring in the kitchen and bathroom but particularly bathroom. Some kind of felt, carpet like vinyl just felt icky, don’t see how it could be cleaned looked unclean. There were quite a few cobwebs too.
- Suzanne (9/5): A cosy base to explore Freycinet. - Quiet and Comfy. Spacious home. Close to everything.
- Richard (8/5): Very good -
- Phillip (7/5): Reasonably good - Location Couldn’t unlock sliding doors. Steep uneven driveway difficult. No matches for firewood or instructions on fireplace.
- Yvonne (9/5): Superb - The house was huge and very clean. It had everything we needed. Even a washing machine. Beds where comfortable and shower was nice. Well equipped kitchen. The driveway is a bit of a challenge and can damage your car, so be careful.
- Geoff (6/5): Nice and Comfy.
M. - Layout was good. Beds and seating comfortable. Had a couple of issues that could just be once off bad luck on our part. Would have liked clean windows, decks, frypans.
Didn't use the supplied BBQ Only because it was in need of a clean. Front door lock not working... had to enter via the laundry.
- Nicola (7/5): Good -
- Katherine (8/5): Very good - The blinds were difficult to keep open and although there was a bathroom and a second toilet with basin, we were only given one hand towel. Other than that, it was excellent.
- Pujan (7/5): Good -
- Lisa (8/5): Very good -
- Wilma (9/5): Superb - The very steep driveway
- Patricia (9/5): Superb - Almost everything. People need to be made aware of steep drive.
Suggest round covered pit be upgraded possibly bitumen around to ensure no sharp edges that could damage tyres.
- Jody (10/5): Exceptional -
- Francis (5/5): Passable - The driveway is potentially hazardous for small cars.
Normal check in time is 1400 not 1500
The code to the key safe was delivered at 1457 which is poor
The property sleeps 10 with one bathroom
- Danielle (5/5): Passable - Didn't hear back from a text about the fire place. Otherwise clean and tidy.
- Leanne (9/5): Superb -
- Josiane (8/5): Homely and spacious holiday home - The house was spacious, homely and cosy. We loved sitting on the outside balconies. The kitchen was well equipped, even foil and cling wrap was provided. The large sofas were comfy and the smart TV was of high quality with good internet connection. The clothes washing facilities were very convenient. The driveway is a problem, not maintained properly and could damage your car badly when you enter the property. The main door locking was difficult, we had to exit through the laundry room.
The bathroom floor had hair caught up in the carpet, a stronger and more thorough vacuuming is needed. The whole place has carpets which is great when it is cold but it needs a good clean/ steam.
- Robbie (9/5): A good base for exploring this area - Lots of room and a good supply of kitchen items The blinds in the lounge were damaged and didn’t seem to work
- Janna (8/5): Very good -
- Ckesno (9/5): Lovely stay in a lovely location - Lovely quiet location. Clean home with everything you need for a stay. Comfortable beds. Only one shower for 7 ppl but fine for a weekend.
- Katrina (7/5): Good -
- Marevich (9/5): Superb -
- Jessie (9/5): Spacious, cosy and comfy got everything you need. - Spacious, cosy with the most needed wood burner for cold nights. Aircon worked well too. Loved the big comfy sofas. Only has one bathroom, could be tricky for a big family. We had 5 people staying, not too bad since we were in no rush, so we just took turns taking a shower.
- Elizabeth (9/5): Would recommend! - Just what we needed for a couple of nights! Very comfortable, everything we needed to cook meals.
- Nepustilova (8/5): Very good -
- Anthony (10/5): Exceptional -
- Aileen (10/5): Had a fantastic, comfortable stay! - Beautiful property, lovely location!
- Antonio (8/5): Great place for a group with large kitchen, family area with great outside deck - Ample room Shower was leaking and started to rot the lower edge of the wall
- Paul (10/5): Exceptional - Brilliant location; quiet, surrounded by trees and ideal for exploring Freycinet National Park
Spacious rooms and outside space
Well equipped Nothing
- Helenr (9/5): Superb -
- Miguel (10/5): Exceptional - The house is gorgeous, spacious and well equipped No complaints. But note the driveway is very steep
- William (8/5): Very good - We really enjoyed our stay at Freycinet Hideaway for 3 nights. The kitchen was really well equipped and stocked with plenty of plates and bowls and and cutlery. We used it to cook a few meals and it worked wonderfully well.
There were 2 comfortable leather lounges in the living room which we enjoyed sitting on. Spacious parking spot at bottom of driveway.
Central location to get to Freycinet National Park, wonderful walks to Wineglass Bay and beach etc.
- Michael (9/5): A wonderful holiday home in a beautiful beach town. - This property had everything we needed for our stay: lots of comfortable bedding, entertainment for the kids, well-appointed kitchen, two good toilets and a nice bathroom. There are two decks, great for breakfast or coffee. And a really good washing machine and racks to get your washing done. Located a short drive from the main street and store. There’s nothing we could complain about.
- James (10/5): Exceptional -
- Maree (9/5): Superb - The living area was very spacious and having two decks was very nice.
- Kay (9/5): Comfortable well presented home in a lovely location - Very comfortable home, great location
- Gwyn (10/5): Gone too soon, will be back to hang out more with the resident possum and her baby. - What a gorgeous place. The location right on the edge of the national park was spectacular, the house itself was gorgeous, cosy, and beautifully presented. The shower was amazing! We loved the soft flooring in the wet rooms. The fact that we can't move in!
- Meredith (7/5): Good -
- Renae (9/5): Superb -
- Sally (9/5): Superb -
- Rebecca (8/5): Comfortable accommodation very close to gorgeous National park. - Big open family spaces and rooms. Very clean There was a washing machine but no clothes dryer. Bit hard to manage a large family on holiday without one.
- Paul (8/5): Very good -
- Thibault (9/5): Superb -
- Vanessa (9/5): Superb - close proximity to Freycinet National Park
cozy and quiet location
- Barrie (9/5): Superb -
- Hilary (10/5): Exceptional -
- Donna (7/5): Great base to use to explore Freycinet National Park and surrounds. Was a comfortable stay and would stay again. - Very roomy, comfortable queen beds, air con, visit by a local possum, bush views. Quiet location - less than 1km from shops and fuel and good base for exploring the area. Appreciated the washing machine. Good choice for large groups. Had trouble with operating the oven, disappointed we couldn’t use the open fire - was a cold week in Tassie (mentions only to be used in winter months but we missed that detail), lack of toiletries - only body wash provided in lieu of soap. Being picky - Bread board needs replacing and window frames need a clean. Lounges starting to age but still comfy. Bunk rooms very musty and would need days to air out if to be used. Info inside explains why kitchen supplies have been taken away due to COVID, says to bring your own if required. Note there is no cancel free period with this booking.
- Belinda (8/5): Very good -
- Brett (10/5): Beautiful location - Lovely comfortable home with everything you need, clean, spacious and good location Plastic wine and champagne cups, yuck.
- Gregory (8/5): Very good -
