• Emma (6/5): - It was a nice stay, the room is fairly small but perfect for busy days exploring. Close to shopping and tons of food and metro stations. The staff at the counter was very friendly. The only things we didn't enjoy about our stay was the smell of cigarette smoke in the room, nothing overwhelming but disappointing, and a the bed was pretty hard.

• Masato (6/5): Not friendly staff at tbe front desk - Close to dotombori It would be nice if the guy at front desk was more friendlier and not being arrogant. I understand he is not friendly at all even though we tried our best to act be on our nicest attitude at all. I don’t recommend this to anybody at all.

• Eriko (2/5): - 絶対にオススメしませんし、2度と泊まりません。 ①荷物をフロントに預けた際に、バックヤードではなく一般客のいる場所に置いたままだった。 勿論、貴重品は入っていないですが、約5時間そのまま、他のお客さんがすぐ側に座っている状況で信じられなかった。 スタッフへ尋ねたところ「ここは防犯カメラがあるから大丈夫」とのこと。 そういう問題ではなく、不特定多数の人が出入りする場所に預かり荷物を置くという感覚が日本のサービスと異なると感じました。 ②周辺は治安があまりよくない。 ③食堂？で、休憩中のスタッフがSNSを大音量で観ていたりと、国籍による感覚の違いを感じました。 ④客室はマンションのようになっており、廊下は非常に寒い、ビジネスホテルのような狭さ HPを見た限り良かったので親族と泊まりましたが、日本的な感覚のある方には特にオススメしません。
• Louey (3/5): I would not stay there again for the price. - The only thing that was good was the location. It was within 10minutes walk to Dontonburi. The hotel was very expensive, at $400 AUD. I would be okay with it if it was priced appropriately but it wasn't. I made that assumption because it was relatively expensive, that it would be decent. It was clean, which is the only redeeming feature. The rooms were very small and more like a university dorm than a hotel. We also asked the staff if we could take the towels to the gym, and they would not let us.

• Tlam09876 (4/5): ok stay. - the double bed is big, has aircon, shampoo, conditioner and shower gel. it also has a mini fridge in the room; they will store luggage for you for check out. you cannot look out of the window as it is opaque. the rules also seem to be quite direct, including a 7000 yen fee for lost room key (which they only supply one), 1500 yen for late check out (you are supposed to leave by 10am)

• Chan (7/5): Great! - I like it was in the centre of Shinsaibashi which is a walking distance to the iconic Glico sign. You are basically in the centre of Osaka tourist spot but since it is autumn, there are not many tourist yet. Definitely value for money Nothing however, it is not close to any ShinKansen train so you need to take 25 minutes if you are travelling across Japan. So plan wisely.

• Brian (8/5): Great value hotel right by Dotonbori. - Outstanding price for what you get. Just a few minutes walk from the famous Dotonbori strip, you're not wanting for restaurants during your stay. The staff can speak Japanese, Chinese, and some English. One thing I thought was really neat was that the hallways on each floor have gaps in the wall, so it has a nice feeling of being inside and outside at the same time. It's hard to explain it, but a sealed floor has a claustrophobic feeling, while an outside floor feels cheap like a motor lodge. This way of doing the hallways felt so much better. While very close to Dotonbori, it's on the opposite end of it from the closest train station. This means that whenever you want to go somewhere, you need to walk through a rather busy shopping strip to get out. This was neat on the first day, but walking through the same shopping strip for a 3rd time on my way back to the hotel on the second night had lost that magic.
• David (9/5): Good value for money - Location was fairly good. Close to the south end of Dotonburi. But be warned that the walk there is quite tough in the summer humidity. It was about 7 mins walk to the closest subway stop. A few convenience stores around, and many places to do a load of clothes washing on the cheap. No noise in the hotel. The light in the "hallway" (space between bed and door) is automatic and can be sensitive. Tub bath. Place was clean. Not as small as others say.

• George (1/5): it looks like a cover for Chinese mafia - nice location within the city centre 4-star hotel and half the staff can’t speak English. we asked to ship our luggages to the next hotel as we did many times in Japan. they made such a mess I had to come back there after the checkout, risking to miss my train. the bad part of it is that they probably still don’t get the point and think to be right.

• John (3/5): Poor - I know the hotel rooms in Japan are small but this was the smallest yet. So small that everytime I turned over in bed the sensor light in the hallway came on meaning I had almost no sleep. It also must hold the record for the smallest toilet seat in Japan. I would never recommend this place.

• Stan (8/5): Osaka has a vibrant centre and Shinsaibashi-Higashi Crystal Hotel is conveniently close. - At time of booking, it was the only option in Dōtonbori. We booked two rooms and got them adjacent, as requested.

• Verified traveler (8/5): Ok hotel for the price and location - The room was very small, enough for 2 large size luggage and not much walking space after that. The small tub was nice for a soak after a whole day of walking. Wish there could be more hooks to hang jackets/clothes. The bed was firm and the blanket was comfortable. No view to see, as it wasn't possible to open the frosted window. 6-10min walk to most of the major shopping and train station.
