Guest Reviews
- Christopher (6/5): - Stained mattresses.
- Keith (4/5): Wouldn't stay again - Night manager had two beds in lobby and a dog. Not professional. The room had stained sheets and all the lights were bright. The only way to get ambient light was to partially close the bathroom door and turn all others off. Roach emerged from under pillow.
- kevin (6/5): - Seems updated
- Larry (8/5): - I did fine where the room was not properly clean in the shower was a prefab with limited space and slick
- Susan (10/5): - For a 2 * hotel, was fine Only slept and showered.
- Denise (8/5): - Cleanliness was good. Guess for what we paid it was good. Staff was friendly.
- Andrew (4/5): - The shower head was just hanging, no way to attach it to the wall to take a normal shower. Roaches in the room. Floors were filthy. Turned my feet black.
- Virginia (2/5): - We checked in around 8 pm.. office was closed and checked in through a window. Linens had not been changed, had pubic hair in the beds and head hait on pillows. Toilet seat had pubic hair on seat and many hoided on backside of seat. Bed spreads are a rhin as a sheet, so we froze. Guest beside us, woke us up twice, sounding as if they coming through our door..got up several times bc of being scared seen a man hanging out on sidwalk in front of our door and a motorcycle racing through parking twice.. low cost stay, but not worth the sleepless night and sleeping behind others..
- James (6/5): Clean but smelly water - A bit badic but clean. Can park right outside the rooms. However the water was very smelly.
- Danny (2/5): - We didn't like anything about the property. There is no lobby, only a window to talk through. The bathroom floor of the assigned room had standing water on it. The maintenance man mopped it up, then dripped the wet mop all the way to the front door. This made the dirty floor muddy. The water starting filling the bathroom floor again, so the window woman moved us to another room. It was closer to the several Mexican families fixing supper out in front of their room. Actually, they weren't bad, but the whole thing reminded me of occasions when I've stayed in migrant worker motels. Extremely spartan and barely functional. The second room wasn't much cleaner, and it had more bugs. I found a dirty towel hanging on the back of the bathroom door. It proved useful for cleaning the room some. Had the place even served any kind of breakfast, we would not have eaten there on a bet. We will never stay there again.
- Anoosh (10/5): - Beds comfortable and very clean for a 2 star
Place! Very surprised
- Brent (10/5): - Nice clean hotel.
- Angela (8/5): - I had to kill a roach in the bathroom.
- Bobby (10/5): - Even though this hotel is older than one right down the road don’t let that fool you. It’s just as nice. It is nice and clean. We chose Rocky Creek Inn because of the jet tub in the room. It was a great stay and we will be back again when we can take a a break away from the kids and animals of home haha.
- Franklin (8/5): - Older hotel, but clean . Could use major overhaul
- Go302591 (2/5): Unexpectedly expensive to be so very unclean - For $100 a night, you would expect at least a very clean room. The rooms at this motel are not rented out very often and apparently they do not go into them before renting them to someone to make sure they are clean. Our room was not. There was dirt on the floor and it was so grimy that the child’s feet were black from walking on it. It smelled badly and there were cobwebs everywhere. The toilet had a ring around the bowl and the shower walls had layers of soap and grime on them. several of the electrical outlets did not work. The lobby closed up with the windows covered and you check in through a little roll out window. There are only 4 motels in the area and this was our only choice. I would be so embarrassed to be known as the owner/manager of such a place, especially one charging such a high room rate for rooms as nasty as these are.
- James (6/5): Basic - Very basic. One-star hotel. But, it worked. I slept and moved on.
- Diane (6/5): - The bathtub took literally over an hour to drain The owner couldn’t speak plain English at check in causing confusion about our reservation The maid service was great
- Verified traveler (8/5): Pleasant Stay - This was a return to a hotel I've stayed at before. The room was clean and comfortable but the bathroom toilet wobbled an the sink faucet when used water leaked out the base, but they are still working on updates and I would stay here again. My service dog was welcomed and had a place to explore when needed.
- Williema (10/5): - Great service and quality of room for the price.
- Diane (6/5): - We stay here at 3 times a year This is the first time we have seen roaches Hope they get an exterminator before we come back
- Bruce (10/5): - Pet friendly.
- carmen (8/5): - it was a lovely stay.
- Quishemia (8/5): - Honestly thought this was gunna be sketchy but turned out to be a good stay. The beds made a weird sound, and the floors weren’t swept at all but would stay again if I needed to. Nice and quiet little inn.
- julia (4/5): - Basic older inn by truck stop.
Rooms dirty would not recommend for kids.
Will not let you in lobby must talk through a window.
No drinks or breakfast
Does have fridge and microwave in rooms
- Angeliki (10/5): - Location is excellent for travelers , easy check in, clean room. Very good!
- Annette (8/5): - We were very glad to have a nice place to stay overnight with our little dog. There were plenty of places to walk her and also places close by to eat. Parking was plentiful, it was quiet and the manager was very helpful. Downside was that there was no coffee maker in the room, but we bought coffee the day before and heated it up in the microwave. There was a nice mini-fridge also so we were thankful. This isn’t a fancy place but it is very nice, was adequate for our needs, and the manager was great!
- Diane (8/5): - Nice
- Diane (10/5): - The night manager is wonderful easy check in
- Verified traveler (4/5): In it's heyday it probably was great! - You get what you pay for. The lobby was not open, the pool was not working and the bathtub took a long time to drain. The pictures of the Inn has not been updated to its current condition. The towels and bed sheets could have been better. The Inn had long term residents - they should put guests separate from the long term residents as they were noisy (coming in late with loud vehicles). If you just need a place to sleep for the night, it'll work.
- Shawn (8/5): - It was sufficient
- chester (6/5): - Just a place to sleep.
- Donald (2/5): - No hot water heater dont work it sucked
- Paul (8/5): - It wasn't clean well.
- Margaret (6/5): Just ok!! - This hotel was very clean. But my bed was hard as a rock. They need sound reducing windows and doors. I could hear everything going on out side of my room plus all the loud trucks on the highway. Slept in a hoodie cause they dont believe in blankets. I like to froze with my little sheet and cover. I had to turn the heat on 80. Check in was easy and he was very nice. I would stay again...just with a blanket and ear plugs. Lol.
- Connie (6/5): Trip home - On our way home from a trip to Miami Fl. Needed a one night stay. Did not know the area. It was ok for a place to shower and sleep. Towels are horrible pillows are awful. It was pretty chilly and it was a sheet and very thin cover on the bed, so we kinda got a little cold in the middle of the night. But it was very clean and right off the highway. Room was very roomy. For a one night was ok.
- Vicky (6/5): - There were no lamps in the room, only bright overhead lights. There were no blankets in the room.I asked for a lamp, and was told there were none. I didn’t ask for a blanket. The bedspread was a very slick material, and would not stay on the bed.Left only a sheet for cover
- Kayleigh (8/5): - I got here late at night and didn’t expect to have to check in through a window, so that made me nervous as a female by myself. They did call me to confirm what time I was going to arrive, which was appreciated. The room was fine, but could have used a lamp for some extra coziness. The water pressure was great, the tv and internet worked well, and the bathroom and beds were clean. The pillows seemed good quality, too. It was cold outside, so I used the heater and had no issues with that, either.
I probably wouldn’t stay here alone again, however, with my spouse or a friend, I would definitely consider it for the price.
- Dawn (10/5): - New owner are doing a great job.redoing the place keep up great work
- Vicki (10/5): - The staff here - super nice. The outside of the property extremely clean. My room was cool and quiet and for the most part very clean.
My only concerns were that there is no small lamp, just really bright recessed lighting, & there were some stains on my sheets. None of these things impacted my stay. It was pleasant and I will definitely return.
- Teresa (10/5): - Everything was very clean. I just got very nervous when I couldn’t actually go in the lobby to check in. It was all done thru a window. I was staying alone and got very nervous if it was safe or not just because of the check in way
- Elena (6/5): - The staff was incredibly friendly and the property itself wasn't that bad. However since this hotel is relatively in the middle of nowhere, there was an incredible amount of bugs in the hotel room (mostly spiders, killed at least 20 large ones, 30 babies and couple of roaches). It was a little scary but maybe we're just city people😊
- Mary (10/5): - Everything was excellent
- Cristall (10/5): - Quiet place i’ve stayed here a couple of times and each time has been wonderful
- Gerry (10/5): - The property and room were clean and in excellent condition. The staff were friendly and helpful. We have stayed there before and will stay there again.
- Donna (10/5): - Was very easy
- Katherine (4/5): - Our stay was not good. The floor was not clean. The jet tub was not installed right. No hot water. Front dest was rude. Will not stay there again. Very disappointed.
- louis m (2/5): - bed had dirt in it spiders everywhere floors was filthy trash was left in room from previous tenant
- John (8/5): - Good stay
- Willard (10/5): - I didn’t like that there is no breakfast
- DONNA (4/5): - Location next to highway was good.
Sheets did not fit the mattress and appeared un-laundard!
- Tracy (4/5): Pass on this place - Did not care for this place at all, parking area is very dark, beds were uncomfortable, shower did not get warm and drain was not working properly, there were cobwebs everywhere in the room, absolutely would not recommend
- Elizabeth (2/5): - Toilet broken and roaches. Horrible. Take off if your website.
- patricia (6/5): No frills - No frills, no coffee, no breakfast
- Jamds (10/5): - The room was perfectly clean.
The price approoriate and fair.
- LorneJC (10/5): Rock Creek Inn - I found the Weekly rate to be very reasonable. During my stay I had numerous occasions to be in contact with staff. I found the staff to be friendly, courteous and helpful. I accidently locked myself out of my room, went to the office and the Manager immediately issued me a new key. My room was clean and the overall appearance of the property was very well maintained. I really liked the electronic keys they use. The inside door lock had a deadbolt that could not be unlocked should someone had stolen my key. Security cameras everywhere so I felt my automobile was safe during the night. Free ice and they have laundry facilities. Yes, I believe that Rocky Creek Inn is the best choice for anyone that will be visiting the Lucedale area or just passing through, bar none. Great rates, friendly service great security and plenty of room outside for my pet to run and play well away from roads. A big THANK YOU to the Management and staff for such a pleasant stay.
- Violeta (6/5): - I mean the place definitely needs to be cleaned up on the outside and inside of the building, it was a little over priced for the conditions it is in.
- Corey (10/5): - They were friendly and it was amazing
- Roxanne (10/5): Awesome place to stay - Our stay was wonderful. Very nice place. We will be staying there again
- Gladys (8/5): - I love that it is 11 milesfrom my grandkids and its easy to make a reservation and not a bad rate. The staff was friendly both times i stayed there. I will be back .
- Jeannie (2/5): - Horrible experience. 1) Entrance door appeared to have been kicked in on multiple occasions. Dents everywhere. 2) The door would not lock. It would stick some, but a good push/pull and you were in. The back up lock inside the door had stripped screws and multiple screw holes signified it had been moved/broken several times before. 3) There was dog feces on the floor. 4) The hot tub worked, but only partial jets operated. 5) The bed was on top of sheet metal, similar to your home heat ducts, so any time you adjusted yourself it made the familiar expanding duct thud every time. 6) Insects almost but not quite everywhere. You don't want to stay here unless you have no option. The one positive is the lady who worked the counter was very nice.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Service was great, the workers were kind, the room itself was dirty and the upper lock on the door make me nervous to be staying on my own. It was fine for a night after a long day on the road but I don’t think I would stay again.
- alang404 (2/5): Not again - Thought it would be a nice place in The country! Looks nice from outside but old and not so well maintained inside. There were three rooms in the back where were placed that had people living in the rooms. One of them had a few short stay visitors during our stay! Why you may ask? Was a nice night to cool off in the pool but it was closed, she said waiting on a part! It looked wonderful and sparkling and you could tell it was moving around??? Didn’t feel very safe since the extra lock bar was broken off of the door. Would t stay here no matter the price
- Robert (8/5): - The bed was comfortable and the all the amenities worked.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Small hotel in the middle of nowhere - First time at this hotel. I purposely try to stay at smaller hotels to help them survive. The room was clean, however the room has very poor lightning. All lamps had 10 watt bulbs which have low light output. The door has a broken safety lock. The bed was comfortable and semi firm which for me is perfect. Towels were small and typical of a low budget motel, so can’t really complain. My room had a nice 48” flat screen TV with a direct TV receiver attached via HDMI. However the subscription service for that receiver did not include HD, only SD. So why to have an HD television, HD receiver and even a proper HD hook up and not provide HD service is puzzling. Perhaps try to save a few dollars? Checkin was not pleasant. I did arrive early during the hot baking sun, only to find that I couldn’t even walk into the lobby as it was locked with instructions to walk up to the “nighttime window“ I felt like I was going to a bank teller with the bright sun shining on me. That was a major turn off to me. On top of that, they were two undercover detectives there that were granted access into the lobby while I’m sitting in the hot baking sun waiting for the checkin to be completed. The staff was very pleasant, however I still think the lobby should’ve been opened. It was 4 PM in the afternoon. There are cameras everywhere, which leads me to believe there may have been some problems in the past. The area doesn’t seem like it would be problematic but I don’t know this is my first time here.
- Robert (6/5): - Beds and bathroom was clean. Bed was comfortable and ac worked. Room needed extra cleaning, especially in corners and under table. Chair for table Should be burned. I reserved room for 3 adults. We arrived late and had 2 towels, 2 washcloths and 2 hand towels. I would suggest a better cleaning crew and adding more linen when reserved for more people. Just ok for the most part. Would’ve paid 3 times the amount at Holiday Inn if they had any room available. You get what you pay for. Just had to keep that in mind.
- Robert (8/5): - It's not a fancy motel, but room was clean and price was inexpensive.
- Wendell (10/5): Everything I expected and no issues - My stay was very comfortable. I have no complaints and there was nothing that put a damper on my time here. I would definitely book another stay here.
- Patrick (10/5): A very pleasant stay at an affordable price. - The staff was very professional and courteous, which isn’t always the case nowadays. They seem to be making improvements to the property. My room was spacious and comfortable, as well as very clean. The outlet in the bathroom wasn’t working, but all others were functioning well. A very pleasant stay.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Meh - Its an alright stay if you need a couple hours of sleep. When we arrived the pool was green, the room had wrappers and trash from last guest and the matter was so soft you sunk in it like a sideways taco. Then there was people arguing outside at 230 am
- jennifer (10/5): - This was the 2nd time we stayed there. It is an affordable place that is clean. Staff is very nice and accommodating. Just wish there was in room coffee. However theres a place next door to get coffee. Would stay there again.
- 2017Over60 (6/5): The Good and The Bad - My wife an I stayed at this Inn on our way to Florida and on our way back to Texas. We were traveling with our dog. The Inn provided a quiet place to stay and allowed our dog for $10 a night. Nothing special, but it was worth the price we paid. A good thing is that the rate includes all taxes and fees. So for $75 a night, which includes the dog fee, we got a clean room. On the way back when we unpacked an decided to go to bed we notices the sheets had a stain on them...we called,,,and the manager took care of the issue immediately. The bad, bring your own food and beverage there is not a place close by. The rooms are being remodeled one-by-one and you can tell which ones have been remodeled. The pool is closed and there is no breakfast, coffee, or anything. The ice machine is outside and available with some limited vending. There is a convenience store and dollar store nearby. Great parking, quiet, and affordable comfort. Not the best Inn, but we found it to meet our needs. We are in our 70s.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - The room was dirty the towels were staying and there's mold on the ceiling
- Daniel (10/5): nice enough - Its nice place but needs to have floors cleaned more often and consider getting some sort of breakfast meal
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Nice clean rooms. Large and spacious. Nice people.
- Brandon (2/5): Disgusting room - Hotel room was disgusting! The room smelled of stale smoke when it was suppose to be a non-smoking room. Bed sheet and pillow had dark red spots on it that looked like dried blood. The bed look so gross my wife and i had to go to walmart and buy new sheets and pillows just to sleep. To top it all off the room had cockroaches not the big ones that can sneak inside but the tiny small ones that live in walls. Will never book a stay again.
- karensa2021 (2/5): Smells they dont care if you asked for non smoking - They dont care if you asked for NON Smoking. They gave me a room that smells. I said make sure its non smoking the lady at the front desk said ok. My husband had been therea week before me and he said the reason it smells is the person in it before me was an older man that smoked and had a pet. So what part of no Smoking room is this if the previous person smoked it up. Horrible place.
- William (10/5): - Great
- T4491SDjustinb (2/5): COCKROACHES AND NASTY!!!! - There was cockroaches on the walls and in the towels. The whole room was dirty nasty rooms. We had to pull out the nightstand to even use the phone because it was under it. The staff is rude and unprofessional.
- Clarice (8/5): - Checking in was slow and having to stand outside in the cold is not fun.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Our door lock was broken. The sheets wouldn't stay on the bed. The blow dryer was terribly broken. No water pressure. I mean you couldn't wash the soap off. Dust bunnies under the desk. The room was full of flies. Smelled really bad musty.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - The lock on the door wouldn't work. It smelled really bad musty. The sheets wouldn't stay on the corners of the bed so you wake up to laying on the matress. The blow dryer literally had no guts. There was not enough water pressure to wash the soap off when showering. There are dust bunnies under the desk. The room was full of house flies.
- Melanie (10/5): Wonderful little motel - The lady at the front desk was very sweet. Check in was easy. The gentleman was also polite. I didn’t sleep well because of the mattress but the heated seats on my car overrode the pain enough that because of the wonderful service and general loveliness of the area I might just stay again if I’m in that area.
- Dedrea (8/5): Pleasantly dirty. - The manager was super nice and pleasant. He also was very helpful. Although, the rooms were not very clean. There was a dead roach in the bathroom and the bathroom walls had stains splattered all over them.
- John (10/5): - Really nice. Staff was great. Room was amazing and well kept
- Marv (8/5): - Very clean nice place, very up to date. Almost no extras, like towels, coffee, etc. The only major issue was the electrical receptacle, u could tell very old, the items plugged into them just fell out, would not stay plugged in, very frustrating! Excellent shower, plenty of hot water, good flow, probably the best of any hotel I’ve ever stayed at, including five star hotels.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - It’s an older motel but very comfortable and the staff was very friendly and a pleasure. Will book again, i stayed about 10 days and they treated me very well.
- Jill (4/5): - Was close to my sister's house. It smelled musty.
- Emma (6/5): No frills stay - It is a basic no frills inn. Nothing really stood out. Kind of disappointed that cereal was the only option for breakfast.
- Sandy (6/5): A little disappointed - Single lady traveling alone i was kind of nervous i was given an adjoining room and the chain lock on door was broken.
The sheets were to small for the bed so they kept coming off in the night,d a few other times and i have never encountered this problem.
- joecH8501KH (2/5): Bring your own sheets - Room was outdated, trash (candy wrapper) on the floor, sheets had cigarette burns in it. Bed had a regular size fitted sheet on a deep size mattress. Continental breakfast was breakfast cereal only. On the plus side the cost of the room was only $65. If my wife had been with me we would not have stayed there
- D4262GCroys (4/5): One of the worst rooms ever - Had to check in late and doors were locked. Check in through an outside window. First room was awful with dirty sheets and spread. Would not sleep on them. Requested another room and was accommodated/ Second room was better but not much. Shorts had been left hanging on bathroom door, spreads were filthy, only one rickety chair, loose fixtures in dirty tub, temperature difficult to control. Will definitely not stay here again.
- 297sherid (4/5): Not worth it - Raised there prices up the roof! Stayed there several times in past, and uncomfortable beds and old furniture. So not worth the price increase! The view and quiet surroundings are great but the room inside the motel is what matters! Stayed there in 2015
- IRMAEvacuee (2/5): Price GOUGERS! In Hurricane IRMA - My son and I are Hurricane Irma evacuees from Florida. I live in a trailer park so HAD to get out. I had hardly any money to escape this hurricane but my son and I made it to here as it advertised $60...but for the same double Queen bed room advertised they charged $85. I stayed Thursday 7th Sept - 12th Sept 2017 as I did not have a choice due to storm and booked up hotels. They used this fact and even if it does not sound like a lot of money, for some one struggling like me it makes a big difference. They make weak coffee and HATED it when I would use their Keurig for a fresh cup and hovered over me saying they HAVE( stewed weak )coffee made. This sounds petite but it gives you a good idea that they are all about money and not the customer. An Elderly gentleman from Florida was at the front desk today not understanding why what he had paid online was not enough......they had raised per night to $90 on him!!! This made me sick and I have reported them to Delbert Hoseman's office (Sec. of State MS) as they are taking advantage of a single mother like me from a trailer park working as hard as I can and worried about missing work but had to be responsible and a hard of hearing Senior Citizen that was confused why he had to pay more...I WASN"T!!!
- JamesTheFourth (8/5): Clean Room, Friendly Staff, Good Price - The title pretty much says it all. The motel is a little older but very clean. The staff was very helpful with directions around Lucedale. We left our bathing suits in Houston, and really wanted to take the kids swimming. The breakfast isn't much to write home about, but the price is right at 53.50 tax and all. If we're ever back this way, we will definitely stay again.
- consult12015 (2/5): Drive away as fast as you can - Was towards end of day so the motel looked good from the outside. What a disaster , room smelled really damp, tv was apiece of junk, I stepped out of bed onto carpet and jumped as fast as possible into bed. I don't think carpet has ever been cleaned, it was so sticky. Killed 3 bugs in room. Their breakfast consisted of cold cereal Stop 30 minutes before or after lucedale
- angiec743 (2/5): Will not stay there again - My brother, his wife and i had two rooms at the Rocky Creek Inn from December 30th to January 2nd. I have to say I have stayed there in the past and enjoyed my stay in a fairly comfortable, clean and friendly environment. Not this time. They claim to have remodeled the rooms and thus raised the price. The carpet was awful, dirty and stained, the furniture, chairs were old, badly soiled and smelled. The first night, I found a few bugs in the bed and when I reported it to the desk, she told me I could move to another room but I would have to move myself. She was rude and not helpful. I could not move myself so had to stay and sleep in a chair covered with towels. The next day a young man, very nice and accommodating, moved me to another room. Again it was "renovated". The bed was so bad, I could not sleep and the furniture was equally dirty, old and smelly.
- AGR769 (6/5): Average, Clean, Comfortable Hotel - We traveled to Lucedale on a family visit and stayed at the Rocky Creek Inn. It is a clean, comfortable average hotel with good rates. The breakfast is very basic. The hotel is out of town so not close to much of anything like restaurants. Front desk people were friendly.
- bamatrvler (10/5): The Best!!!! - I stay at Rocky Creek every time I travel to Ms. I originally stayed for the pool. I want to enjoy the water, and have a clean safe place to stay.
They make me feel like I'm family and I belong there. I love this place.
Thank you Rocky Creek see you next year!!!!!

- 761quintinh (8/5): Great stop! - Great place to stop after 14 hours driving just 2 1/2 hours from our final destination. Clean, very affordable, pool for kids. The 24 hr station next door provided milk at 4:30 am and a great hot breakfast in the morning.
