Guest Reviews
- Susanne (1/5): - The layout The ant infestation..everywhere in our cups , tooth brush ... absolutely disgusting. Extremely angry about and could eat food in the property for it
- Cowan (9/5): In short I really enjoyed my stay I was very happy with the apartment - It was very warm and cosy and the flat was spotless, it felt very homely Just a couple of small things like the TV table legs were wobbly their was a small leak on the towel rail in the bathroom
- Mihaela (10/5): -
- Morag (6/5): Air show was fab - Location was good as was parking, Staff went out their way to deliver another parking voucher Shower head was dirty and put us all off using the shower. Fridge was broken and water in the bottom. Standard lamp in livingroom did not work and windows overlook sea require to be cleaned
- Mark (10/5): - Great part of Ayr awsome view right at beach
- Gabo'r (9/5): Lovely few days in Ayr - The apartment was comfortable and in an excellent location with lovely sea views. Everything was great, the only improvement I would suggest is the distance away the key collection and drop off point is from the apartment. This is located behind the Kylestrome hotel and so is a bit out of the way especially when arriving by train.
- Carole (9/5): - The location . Good sea view and close to town centre. Going to the hotel to get the keys. We were already at the apartment before getting the information that the keys are in a box about a mile away from the apartment.
- Christeen (8/5): -
- Fiona (6/5): Very pleasant but disappointing due to lack of dining facilities and towels - Donnini moved our booking one week before our stay to Carrick Retreat. This could be a lovely property with some maintenance. Also photos indicated dining table and chairs in kitchen but these seem to have been removed from apartment. Other changes from advertised apartment were:
No bedside tables in second bedroom
No mirrors in master bedroom
Smaller sofa in living room
The main issue was lack of dining table. We reported this and asked Donnini rep to update us but there was no further contact. We were unable to eat meals as no table and chairs. Had to sit around coffee table to eat.
Also, only 2 towels left for booking for 4 people. This was also reported and a further 2 towels were delivered the same evening. But no hand towels and only 1 bath mat.
A previous review had indicated there was no bottle opener/ cork screw and one was provide for that booming. For some reason this had been removed by the time we visited. Very limited cutlery and cooking utensils.
As previous stated this could be a lovely apartment with beautiful views but main issue was no table to eat from. No table and chairs despite being in description and photos. Some maintenance issues need addressed.
- Derek (10/5): Exceptional 🙂 - Home from home with lovely views in a very good location.
- Neil (8/5): Very good - Excellent location and superb comms ahead of arrival. Response to an issue we had with the boiler was super speedy. No towels on arrival, mentioned via text and phone call but none were forthcoming. General wear and tear was visible, broken chair, cracked paint. Bathroom, particularly the shower could do with an upgrade/refresh
- Bebbington (10/5): Exceptional - The view was great clean and tidy flat would use it again Nothing
- Annmarie (8/5): Very good - Great location. Clean & comfortable. Everything we needed for a relaxing stay. The heating is set on a timer and temperature which we found too hot and stuffy. Even opening windows it was hard to cool the place down. Not a bad complaint I know.
- Jonny (10/5): Exceptional -
- Reynard (6/5): Pleasant -
- Caroline (9/5): Superb -
- Paula (8/5): Very good - Good location with balcony overlooking the harbour/sea. Enjoyed the sunset.
- Tracey (8/5): Very good -
- Alan (1/5): Worst holiday rental experience ever. - Location and view. A mismatched bathroom suite, rusty radiator, mold on wall. No freezer facilities. Years of dust and fluff on light fittings. Filthy, dog hair/sand everywhere. Spilled drinks under couch. Sofa bed falling apart. Draughty patio doors. Broken furniture held together with sellotape?? Bad tile finish in Kitchen. Many of these issues being reported to them years ago??
We lost 3hrs of Saturday due to having to pack, move and unpack again.
Moved to 57 Churchill tower which obviously hadn't even been checked if it was fit for habitation even though there was a Donnini member of staff in the vicinity when we arrived. It had a really strong smell of stale cigarette smoke. Tobacco/ash on furniture. Holes in wall held together with sellotape. Litter under beds, blood stained mattress. All soft furnishings in living room had marks & stains. Filthy windows, cobwebs. Remnants from past tenants in wardrobes, on kitchen cupboards and in hallway cupboard. Dirty grout in bathroom. Dirty/broken glasses. Sticky floors. Dirty, threadbare living room rug. Literally a burst couch in living room. Clanging parking garage door below reverberating right through the flat regularly. We were woken at 6am by it this morning!
11 emails and over 100 photos later and all we get are paltry excuses and offered £40 off our NEXT 'Luxury' Donnini stay by a nameless employee who kept banging on about Donini's high standards!
Making a complaint to booking.com as this wasn't by any means a cheap break. This was supposed to be a treat for the last few days of bereavement leave so needless to say we will never book another Donnini managed property.
- Lillias (8/5): I was attending to some difficult business while staying in Ayr. another time I would hopefully be able to enjoy the sur - simple attractive magnificent sunsets over the sea bit of a carry on to get the keys out of a rather dirty and unattractive bin store. salt and pepper would have been nice
- Frances (10/5): Another great stay at the Donnini apartments! - The view right out to sea is amazing. There is a balcony to sit at and a lift to take you to all floors, which was essential for me.
The girl in the office, Heather was so lovely. She checked twice in the 5 days I was there, to make sure everything was ok and was kind enough to sort out an extra night stay for me at a great price.
This is the 2nd Donnini apartment I have stayed in and I can highly recommend them. Well, sofa in sitting room is not comfortable at all.
Only other small thing I can think of is, there was no baking trays for the oven, that's it.
- Joy (7/5): Fantastic location , cosy apartment but a bit pricey - Serviced apartment - first time met no one during the stay but worked efficiently Following could be provided:
1. Door Closers
2. Clear instructions to operate different gadgets
3. Broken lid of the kitchen dustbin could be repaired
- Tina (3/5): Family holiday - It is hard to find anything positive to say about this accommodation. Probably the worst I stayed in
All rooms in that apartment need a good clean
There was black marks on all walls don't know when it was last painted
The bathroom was disgusting black mould all over the tiles. The shower dolls disgustedly dirty ceiling all stained
First night and most of the next day no hot water
This property is not suitable for children
I start at too many hazards
I am disappointed in booking.com because I did trust you There was absolutely nothing I liked about that apartment I would definitely not recommend it to anybody
- Eaya (9/5): Superb - location was central. apartment was clean.
staff are exceptional. very helpful and accomodating. could do with a shower mat.
- Amit (2/5): NOT A GOOD EXPERIENCE - Stayed at this property in winters.Heating is managed remotely and room temp sometimes goes to 30 degress. In the middle of night the heating just stops and leaving no option but to sleep in cold conditions. Management is not very helpful. I ended up having cold. Will never stay here again.
