Guest Reviews
- Draper (1/5): - Nothing it looked horrible and I felt like it was a hooker hotel It looked horrible and I felt like it was a hooker hotel
- Tyrhonda (1/5): The location is great, rooms are out dated, needs cleaner linen and updated furniture. - Location to park They rooms was dirty, linen was dirty and stained.
- Havianna (1/5): I would never recommend this place to anyone - Absolutely nothing I booked a room for a night with me and my friend. I’m 19 and they said I can’t book anything because I’m not 21. Which is fine I understand but THEY NEVER GAVE ME A REFUND. The guy at the counter was so rude and said they would give me a refund the next day and they never did. It was a horrible experience having to deal with that.
- Whitney (1/5): Will never book with this hotel again. - They are false advertising this hotel is literally behind a truck stop and they don’t disclose that. We checked in to one of our rooms and it wasn’t even clean they have dead roaches and live roaches everywhere don’t let the pictures fool you.
- Cristian (4/5): -
- Provencher (3/5): Never again. - Nothing really. We got in late, their phone number doesnt work and the "front desk" is in the truck stop. But I had to find that through google reviews. Booking.com didnt even know that. We had no choice to stay here. It was 11 oclock. It had bugs and mold in the room. The beds did have encasements on them though.
- Belinda (10/5): love it - i love it i will come back know
- Ambii (2/5): DONT STAY HERE!! - The bed was okay and right across from kings Dominion Rooms were DISGUSTING with roaches, staff very rude, no towels or toiletries in room, TV didn't work, and there isn't a 24 hour restaurant it's a dang storage room
- Christopher (1/5): DO NOT STAY HERE - Nothing Roaches to begin with - at least a dozen running around. We couldn’t stay there. We had to go find another hotel. Did not feel safe at all.
- Matthew (6/5): - Rooms were clean and very affordable. I was skeptical at first but had zero issues once I arrived.
- Charles (2/5): Never again - The attendant gave me a room that was already occupied and the entire place was nasty and filthy.
- Mason (4/5): - Rate n location Not clean really, baby roaches in fridge and they don't give u soap or cups or anything you need only 2 rags n towels, no hand towels
- sarah (1/5): -
- Mary (1/5): - Not a thing Everything room smelt like mold
- Andrew (2/5): You’v been warned! - There is no way this place passes code. Blood on the sheets, trash on the floor, the room reeked of smoke. There was absolutely nothing good about this place.
- Mike (10/5): - Everything including food and gas was close distance. The furthest I traveled was about 14 mins. I didn't have enough towels for my son and I for the days stayed. Also no one came in to clean on a daily basis. Also noticed cock roaches on the bed and sink area.
- Lauren (1/5): It was emotionally exhausting. I’m still recovering. - The property is hidden by the truckers and the dividers. Should’ve been a RED FLAG. Upon finally finding the parking lot the check in desk is apart of a gas station. The man was on his phone ignoring us. I had to announce myself twice. Just to check in. Second RED FLAG. When I arrived there were roaches crawling on the walls, fridge, and drawers in the room. The tub mat was dirty, it smelled like moth balls and roach spray. My bed sheet was bloody as if someone murdered a human and tried to soak the sheets. I know people exaggerate so I was willing to give it a chance because everyone needs a break. But to help you in the future because booking.com sent me an email with this. Do not book here. In fact if booking.com leaves places like this to scam us do not use the app.
- Joanne (2/5): NOT A HOTEL ITS A TRUCK STOP - Unless you want a 1 night stand or a place to buy crack or possibly get murdered then avoid this place by ALL measures. The picture on hotels.com is NOT this property!! This property is a disgusting TRUCK STOP - you literally have to go into the store to get your key. I was the ONLY female there and all it took was me walking TO the room to decide NO WAY. The curtains in the rooms I passed were smoke stained and disgusting, there were dead flies on the ledges I didn’t even go into the room. I can’t imagine how gross that would’ve been. I went back to the store and handed in the key. Spent another $350 to get another hotel a few blocks away. The picture I will include shows what the “hotel” looks like on Hotels.com and the bottom is the actual hotel. An absolute disgusting property even the parking lot was a mess.
Hotels.com won’t do anything to assist with this - them allowing the property to show that incorrect picture is false advertising. I requested a refund from the property (179.00) and naturally heard nothing. I will be disputing it with my credit card company.
Avoid this property it’s Hotel Hell!!!
- Fernando (2/5): - I would like some sort of refund, it’s ridiculous the conditions I was sleeping in and no one was able to help!
- Rasheid (1/5): -
- Lavelle (4/5): - You get what u paid for is alll that needs to say
- Garris (5/5): It was quiet got some good rest - The price wasn't too bad If the microwave.
Was working if they had the towels in the room and didn't have to wait for them to the next day.430 wash clothes 2 good. The towels was okay
- Godette (1/5): Never Again - Nothing Everything from the bugs to the dirty sheets
- Mary (2/5): - There was a dead rat under the bed !
- Leasa (6/5): Pleasant -
- Nathan (2/5): - The room I got the tub had rust in it was not clean at all.
- Allan (4/5): - It's only convenient because of the theme park is directly across the street Kings Dominion
Outside of that too many mosquitoes and flies
And not so clean on the inside
- Benjamin (2/5): This aint worth it - This place is bottim of the barrell, actally its under the barrell and then dug 7 feet. If you dont mind lot lizards, loud next door residents and nasty as hell rooms with roaches and fruit flies in the shower then go for it.
- Shaquita (2/5): - Bed bugs, mice, roaches, bad customer service, phone dont work. Sheets were dirty and it honestly did not feel safe. Dont stay with your kids. I left.
- Centanni (1/5): Bad -
- Council (5/5): Passable -
- Cortez (2/5): - Dirty
- Kurry (4/5): - Bed sheets had blood stains and burns in them one of my rooms smelled like the room flooded and carpet was moldy . Price is only thing good about it at all
- Stacey (1/5): False advertising: this hotel is a truck stop motel, not an OYO. Filthy, dated..stay elsewhere. - This truck stop motel was literally across the street from Kings Dominion. However, that doesn't make up for the negative. False advertising: it is not an OYO hotel (no sign indicating OYO either). It is in a truck stop (literally) and is a truck stop motel.
The motel "office" is located inside the truck stop store that sells tobacco and other random items. There is no sign indicating that it is the motel "office".
At first, we could not open the room door. Turns out.....the handle needs pushed up, not down.
While trying to open the door, if you leaned into it, the entire door and window shook.
We requested a non-smoking room, and the room had a cigarette odor.
There are an inadequate number of outlets in the room. There was 1 between the beds, and it was literally falling off of the wall (see pic below). Luckily, I had a power strip in the car.
Terrible lighting. Ceiling lights didn't work. We literally had a small tabletop lamp that still had the Goodwill price sticker on it. Oh...and it was dirty too.
No disposable cups in the room.
No ice machine or bucket. Honestly, I would not have used it anyways given the general appearance of the motel.
After seeing the motel and the condition of it, along with how the door/window shook, I requested a refund because I had safety concerns. They refused.
- Amy (4/5): - The price was going price. But no coffee, no signs posted, for travels to check in. As the main lobby was locked and we had to find someone in the truck plaza to get us to the roo.s.
- Hobbs (6/5): Pleasant -
- Cortez (6/5): - Ok
- Nancy (4/5): Disappointing -
- Duc (3/5): Bad experience - Na The beds and everything felt uncomfortable
- George (8/5): - Clean
- Andre (2/5): - Rude and poor customer service
- Carrie (8/5): - The manager was very helpful as a shipment of mine did not arrive at the hotel.
- Rosa (6/5): - The good part first. Very quiet and safe area. Excellent service from the front desk staff. Clean beds. On the other hand, the room carpet is disgusting. It is wet and sticky. The bathtub needs scrubbing and a new plug
- Micheal (4/5): - Bathroom light was not working so makes me question whether it was cleaned or not.
Found dog pop dried up under the bed.
Parking was ok and car was not bothered.
The price was definitely worthy of the place.
Would not stay there again.
- Trimmer (1/5): Bad - The room was dirty and had roaches in the room all over deff when we turned off the light and came out of no where they was climbing on the bed ... Had to leave the room and sleep in my car cause it was not fit for someone to sleep in ...
- Charnelle (4/5): - This has to be my worst experience staying at a truck stop. To begin with, the area where the hotel is located is inconvenient. And I'm not talking about how it's located near a highway. That's entirely fine. What I'm referring to is how the parking lot has cinder blocks all around the area, and signs stating not to park there. There's so many "Do not park here" signs scattered around the area that it makes it unclear as to WHERE you CAN park. On top of that, I had purposely booked a non-smoking room with a king sized bed due to the fact that I have asthma. Upon check in, the receptionist assigned me a smoking room with two separate beds. After complaint, he did change the room but AGAIN assigned us a smoking room. As we proceed to make our way to the convenience store (which they're using as the check-in area for guests), he proceeds to come out of the store and approach us, stating that he noticed us walking around on camera. On our third complaint, he assigned us another room. If you happened to guess if this one was smoking too? You'd be correct. Escorting us to our room, I was walking across the hotel lawn when I fell into an unmarked hole. The smell in the third assigned room wasn't as strong as the first two so I decided to just deal with it. We also had to slam the door HARD to get it to shut because the door was misaligned. The only good thing I can say about the area is that it was quiet, and if you want to be close to The King's Domain, it's across the street.
- Twjuan (7/5): Good -
- Santana (10/5): Exceptional - Room was clean, it was quiet which is hard to find in that area.
- Shelia (2/5): - The property appears to be mainly a resting place for truck
drivers! The room I was assigned, reeked of stale cigarette order, mold around the mirror in the bathroom area, and bugs in the drawer of the night table beside the bed!! On-line picture is very deceiving!! I made reservations two weeks in advance, asked if they had a pool, they said yes, but pool was covered up, and surrounding fence was locked!! Never stayed, requested a refund 10 minutes after entering the room!!
- Kasi L (2/5): - Reserved a king room 2 weeks before trip. Arrived and given a room with 2 twins for my husband and self. We did not stay. Property was clean but in major need of renovations. It is also part of a truck stop which is not mentioned anywhere in property listings!
- Gretchen (2/5): - Every room smelled like smoke. They gave me a bottle of Febreeze to mask the smell. Dirty carpets, old worn tub and toilet, plug in bathroom did not work, no electrical plugs near the bed. The bed was an old spring bed and you could feel everyone of the springs.
- Megan (3/5): Poor -
- Michael (4/5): Disappointing - How close was to the amusement park When check in room was not clean bathroom dirty and moldy sheets
- Kate (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jason (2/5): Closed - This pla e is closed and Hotels.com shouldnt be listed on their site.
- Sandra Marie (2/5): - It was so bad it was at a truckstop and it was nothing like the pictures online. It was so sketchy dirty there was nobody there to even check you in and I wouldn’t let my pet stay there. That’s how bad it was.
- Addison (1/5): Bad -
- David (10/5): Exceptional -
- Santiago (1/5): Disappointed and dissatisfied. - Off 95 I booked through the app on Friday for Saturday but when I got there at 3am they said I could not check in until 3pm. I had to pay for another room and they would not refund the 2nd night for which I was not staying.
- James (9/5): Superb -
- Ngoc (2/5): Very enjoying - Nothing Everything
- Rodgers (5/5): Passable -
- Michelle (1/5): Bad -
- Brittany (2/5): Very poor -
- Gray (4/5): Disappointing -
- Imani (1/5): Bad -
- Ricky (1/5): I did not stay and they would not give me my money back when I asked due to the bugs but I def am not sleeping or shower - close the park we were going to the bugs in the room
- Gray (3/5): Don't use - Location Old no Wash cloths bugs
- Jaime (8/5): Housekeeping - Love the location to the park. After being tired you want to get back to your hotel and it was very close. We could not get any housekeeping items until the next day when asked what u needed for ur room we said u could vacuum they left the vacuum outside for us to do.
- Jaime (8/5): Very good -
- Darshall (1/5): Bad -
- Kyle (1/5): Bad -
- Katrina (2/5): Awful!! - Proximity to the park Kings Dominion The smoke alarm needed new batteries so it beeped for the first 20 minutes of our stay until the cashier came to unplug it, the TV would only plan for a few minutes at a time and then load over and over, the towels were dirty, there were bugs, the room next door to us checked in at 4 am and partied until dawn. We will not be coming back to this establishment!!
- Douglas (10/5): Exceptional -
- Gerald (1/5): Bad - Could not get the room because they did not deal wit booking anymore for some months but I was not informed that prior to me booking and took a trip to Virginia but had to drive all the way back to North Carolina
- DOEANNE (2/5): - After booking and prepaying for this property, THEY DO NOT TAKE RESERVATIONS FROM EXPEDIA/TRAVELOCITY. We arrived and had nowhere to stay. Travelocity moved us to a hotel 10 MILES AWAY from Kings Dominion. Unacceptable and a fraud
- Ashley L (2/5): - When we went to check into the facility, they VERY RUDELY I might add, said they "closed their account three months ago" and refused to service us even though they were listed on the website. We drove 3 hours to go to King's Dominion just to be told our motel didn't exist anymore.
I reached out to Expedia's customer service and I'm still waiting on a refund because they wouldn't put me up in a room.
Customer service reached out to the property and apparently they said the reservation was all good, but when he tried reaching out to the property directly to confirm with them, they didn't pick up the phone.
We ended up staying at a different Hotel and I hope we get refunded back. If not, we've been scamed and are out about $165.00 dollars for two nights.
BUYER BEWARE DO NOT BOOK THIS PROPERTY!!!
- Rhonda (1/5): Bad - Nothing Everything
The hotel is no longer operating
- Christine (1/5): Bad - When I arrived to check in, the place was no longer an OYO and my reservation didn't exist. I had to scramble at the last minute to find other accommodations at twice the price I had planned .
- Katrina (2/5): Absolutely Disgusting - The hotel does not exist anymore under OYO. It is now travelers lodge. There is no lobby to check in as advertised in the pictures. Check in is in a run down truck stop gas station in which we were denied check in due to it not being ran by OYO anymore. We are also being denied a refund on two rooms because they marked us checked in after calling from the hotel and being hung up on 3 times to let OYO know that we were being denied check in as advised by the gentleman at the gas station check in. Even had we been allowed to check in I would have never let my children stay in this place. The outside was disgusting, I can only imagine the rooms.
- Martina (1/5): Bad - the hotel closed 4 months ago so I need my money back
- Verified traveler (6/5): Very close to Kings Dominion - Check-in was weird. The clerk just ignored me and just kept texting on his phone. Perhaps he just got some bad news because he didn't seem to be having a good night and was unfriendly and didn't talk. Finding the place to check-in was difficult. It was inside the store. The good part is that there is a fully stocked store (gas station) on the property. Don't expect much. It's a worn-out hotel. However, I didn't see any bugs. Yay. Despite being a rather dumpy motel, I'm too cheap to spend a lot of money on a nice hotel just for a few hours of sleep. Plan to stay there again for the next trip to Kings Dominion.
- Cora (2/5): - The hotel was disgusting
The adjoining room door was not lockable ...called front desk and nothing was done
We did not stay ...there were
Roaches in the fridge and on the walls when we came in from the concert and we left
Very disappointing and gross
I expect a refund
- Gregg (2/5): This place sucked - The lights in the room didn’t work
There where roaches in the room
You had to go to the quick store to get the key
I’m going to think there was no ac cause the two men in the room we had to pass where sleeping with no clothes on with their door open
- Jenny (2/5): Stay far away from here - This hotel should be closed and not available for anyone to book! There is no check in desk you have to navigate through a truck stop and enter a store to find anyone
The room had black mold all around the floor around the dresser and all plumbing fixtures!
There was 1 working channel on the tv
No internet!
Pool was fool of garbage and dirty muck!
And the worst part was the cockroaches crawling all over the place!
We took pictures and immediately left!
We were only refunded for a one night stay even though our reservation was for 2 nights! Even though we only stayed for a total of 10 minutes!
No one on the property speaks English so communication is horrible!
This place was horrible!
I’ve never seen hotels.com have a hotel like this on their site they need to remove from their list of hotels!
- Mariah (2/5): - Dirty, insects EVERYWHERE, ants, gnats on the bed
- John (1/5): this place was horrible and should be condemned. - there was nothing to like about the property. beds were hard. pool was not open and the staff said
the pool has not been open for a long time and has
been closed permanently. they false advertised
having a pool. plumbing did not work. toilets did not
flush properly
- Myers (1/5): Horrible needs to be condemned by health department - nothing Filthy place. Roaches crawling everywhere.
- Jared (4/5): - I liked it was cheap. Disliked the roaches. No TV. No towels. No wifi. No hooks for towels. Running toilet. 1 ply toilet paper. Need to deep clean this place or tear it down
- Angela (7/5): overall good - Booking.com trucking stop
- Christopher (2/5): Breathtakingly scary - We pulled up to the hotel and thought there was no way where we were was the place we’d booked. It looked like the scary hotel in a murder show where the hero’s car breaks down and they have to walk in the rain to and spend the night. The sort of place that charges by the hour vs the night.
We didn’t even stay there. We abandoned it, ate the cost of the reservation, and went to the Laquinta across the parking lot and for a room.
- Shannon (9/5): Superb -
- Ashley (1/5): Bad -
- Denise (8/5): Old and nasty - Not worth the price, there were roaches and the bed springs were horribly felt. Everyone didn't sleep well and woke up with sore bodies. The carpet was dirty. Somebody needs to go in these rooms and inspect them as for they are very unsanitary. would definitely like a refund.
- Daniel (2/5): Very poor -
- Carlea (10/5): it was a good stay - it was very cleans no cons
- Anonymous (3/5): Poor - the beds were comfortable and clean. The shower had not been cleaned.
- talibar2022 (2/5): COMPLETE SCAM DO NOT BOOK HERE. HOTEL is closed down - This place took my family‘s money through booking.com. Upon arrival the place was closed and abandoned. We spoke with Staff earlier in the day who knew that we were on our way with a 6ht drive from PA. When we arrived there was no one on the premises, door locked and surrounding area looked very unkempt and dirty. This is a complete scam do not book here. Now we are standing outside in the rain at a gas station with hopes that a nearby hotel has space to accommodate my whole family. We are so upset that this place would take our money knowing that the business is not operating.
- Hall (1/5): Bad -
- Brady (1/5): Bad -
