- Miles (10/5): Calm & peaceful -
- Susan (10/5): I would be happy to stay there again - The bungalow was off a small, neighborhood street and away from the bustle of the busy street just a block away. Quiet and private feeling. And the owners turned on the porch lights when it got dark, so I could safely get in.

- Melanie (7/5): A rustic and budget friendly stay. - Lovely quiet location, away from the busyness of the Main Street. Staff were attentive and friendly. The bed was comfortable and bedding was clean and changed daily! The gardens were beautifully kept and were peaceful. The outdoor shower area could do with a cleanup. Being in the shower area, accessing the hand basin meant that we got wet due to the wet season rain.
The rain came in under the bathroom door making the floor wet, despite a rolled up towel for a doorstop.

- Ariel (9/5): - Spacious, beautiful people working there
Personal amable y no intrusivo.

- Ofri (10/5): I would recommend people stay here.they provide water bottle per person per day and it’s clean, friendly and tranquil - Really tranquil and calm and quiet. Yet still in the heart of Ubud. The geckos make a noise in the roof but that is all over Bali and it’s short lasting.
- Zoe (10/5): -
- Jeroen (8/5): Good price quality but some improvements can be made - Beautiful garden just not maintained that well so lost a bit of its glory The door didn’t close properly and the bathroom had a leak

- Rohit (3/5): It was very ok stay, got it for cheap and stayed for 2 days. Wanted to go away from it - The shower was broken, I wanted to change my room but he told me it's not possible, The bedsheets were white but dirty. All the room were fully except one, which looked good from outside but he didnt let me enter telling me their is a couple coming tmrw and they have reserved it for 30 days, so this was the experience. The room doors, walls, switches looked very old and dusty. Not in good working condition and lacked cleanliness. The shower was also broken

- Tarannum (10/5): Home away from home 💕 - ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (110/100 if I could!)
Astawa House truly became my home away from home. I had a bike accident during my solo trip, and instead of feeling alone, I was surrounded by the kindness and care of Katoot and his incredible team. They took care of me day and night, always putting my health first, and made sure I never had to worry about a thing.
The villa is serene, calm, and beautifully maintained, but what makes this place special is the people. Their hospitality goes beyond anything you’d expect from a hotel—this is truly a home. Every need I had was taken care of, often before I even asked.
I can’t recommend Astawa House enough to anyone visiting Ubud. If I return, I won’t think twice—I’ll be back here. Thank you, Ketut and team, for everything. n/a

- Yassmine (10/5): Peaceful - Very comfortable, great staff and away from the hustle and bustle. Very peaceful and safe for a solo traveler! Easy to get grab or Gojek for cheap. Thanks Ketut!! Breakfast not included
- Aydin (6/5): - Calisan gulee yuzlu Odanin esyalari eskiydi temiz degildi son secenek olmali. Klima kumandalari calismiyor. Motoru sokmak cok zor

- Alex (5/5): Good for a short stay but desperately in need of some revitalisation to make it homely - It's a beautiful area, very peaceful and away from the road. The rooms themselves are ina very green and graden-like place. The staff were very friendly and the bed was changes every day. Unfortunately the homestay is in a general state of disrepair - a lot of the garden is overgrown, the area at the bottom is derelict, and the room itself desperately needs some refurbishment. It's a lovely spot but really needs some investment. The showerhead was broken, 3 of the 4 lights didn't work in the room.
Nulla

- Felipe (8/5): Comfortable and great value for money - Great value for money, comfortable room, nice staff, I was allowed earlier check in, quiet property, much more peaceful than being in the middle of Ubud’s centre. Wifi was slow and location it is a little far from Ubud’s centre if that is what you are after.
- Georgia (10/5): Exceptional -
- Arnfried (10/5): Exceptional - Ketut, the manager is great. Made me feel home.
- Sara (9/5): Quiet in the noise :) - Staff very friendly, and beautiful garden with a nice space to practice yoga. Mosquitos the only thing to be prepared of.
- Salih (2/5): If you don't have a health insurance consider going this place - It was quite It was nothing like the photos provided.
- Arnfried (9/5): Best value - I liked the naturally simple garden setting. It's restful to the mind. There was coffee, water, and daily room cleaning. Goid smell. The manager Ketut is very knowledgeable and helpful. Great to talk with. There is even a communal kitchen and fridge.
- Arnfried (8/5): Very good - Great value for money. It's somewhat naturally simple, yet I like it as it relaxes my mind. The setting is cosy and quiet. I appreciated great talks with the sensible, educated, kind, and very helpful manager, Ketut. Room and bed are cleaned daily and all smells clean. The small kitchen facility is also a bonus. Always coffee and fresh bottled water, and there is a communal fridge.
- Shen (7/5): Good -
- Elo (7/5): Not the best but it was cheap. - Friendly staff! Bed was broken. Mattress old and sunk in the middle.
- Erin (8/5): A lovely, friendly stay - We had a lovely stay at Astawa house. Location is a bit away from centre of Ubud but we quiet and peaceful. Staff were exceptional, very friendly and helpful and the highlight of the stay. Shared fridge useful. Room small and basic but you get what you pay for. The shower is outdoors but in a really cool, ornate stone setup. Location 40 minute walk from centre of Ubud
- Bayu (1/5): Bad Bad - Nothing Water on the Bathroom like tear drops
Access to hotel only fit to only one person
- Symbiose (10/5): Exceptional -
- Federica (9/5): Superb -
- Dani (9/5): Great stay - Very lovely staff and not too far from the center of Ubud. Very quiet at night and clean rooms, beds and pillows were very comfortable.
Parking your bike off the street near the accommodation is possible, but it's a little hard. If you're comfortable on your bike, you should be ok.
- Kayla (8/5): Lovely stay! - Lovely staff and great location. Outdoor shower was lovely too!
- Wahyu (8/5): Hidden Gem Stay in Ubud - Hidden gem located just outside central Ubud. It's a peaceful retreat with a beautiful private garden that gives the whole place a calm and relaxing atmosphere perfect for a short getaway.
Beautiful private garden, well-kept and full of character, adding to the peaceful charm.
Close to central Ubud, not right in the center, but still just a short walk or ride away.
Super friendly staff, incredibly kind, helpful, and made the stay feel very welcoming. Maintenance could be improved, small things like a broken light bulb and worn-out wooden chairs need more attention.
- Léa (8/5): Lovely staycation for those who like authenticity - The place is so calm, so peaceful, feel fresh and a little wild. I love the simplicity, the privacy, the scenery. Lack of maintenance, not very clean, broken chairs, ichy sheets, strong humidity smell in the bathroom. Also the photos on booking.com don't match the reality.
- George (9/5): Superb - Place was superb That have to leave so soon
- Yimei (8/5): Budget place to stay in a quiet street - I stayed for 2 nights when I did a one-week CrossFit training as the CrossFit gym is within 10 mins walk. The guesthouse is in a quiet street and I love walking on this little lane in the morning. Lots of restaurants & shops within 10 mins walk. This area is not that easy to walk around as traffic is very busy, but you can get motorbike taxi to go to all major attractions like the Ubud palace & various yoga centers within 20 mins. Yoga barn is about 25 mins walk. The bathroom is outside of back door so the room is quite dark as you need to keep the back door shut to avoid mosquitoes. But outdoor bathroom is quite common in Bali & you get what you paid for.
- Madhumita (8/5): Very good - Location is very good. Totally clean and green AC was not good
- Magdalini (8/5): Very good - Nice yoga shala. Not really in use but available for quests so I used it. Cute garden and beautiful outdoor shower Loved the outdoor bathroom but all my toiletries got wet during a rainstorm. You don't expect that to happen normally 😅
- Anže (7/5): Not great not terrible - Protection around bed Misquotes, geckos and birds on roof making noise
- Baktybala (9/5): Superb - Place is very quiet and cozy. Big garden, old but nice yoga Shaka down on the garden. Rooms are cozy, with AC, private bathroom and outdoor shower. Small yard with table and two chairs. Inside the room also you have kettle, cups and spoons. Room cleaning and water changing everyday. Sound isolation of rooms is good.
You have a big closet in the room and little bamboo stair for drying clothes
Stuff is very friendly, welcoming and polite. Ketut is the best manager. Kitchen could be more clean. The roof is old and natural and something is falling on the food when you cook and no cover for pots. Only big pots are available.
Room cleaning is everyday, but sometimes I didn’t get the point of cleaning girls, when they was doing one thing one day and leaving some stuff unattended the other day.
Room a little bit dark.
- Craddock (10/5): Lovely place, good value, close to ubud. - Staff was nice and friendly. Room was good with mosquito net, kettle with tea and coffee. The sounds of the garden were lovely to listen to in the morning or evening. Was an easy location to walk into ubud or scooter.
- Brenden (10/5): Exceptional - Ketut and the staff are very kind and helpful, I felt very happy to be there! Astawa House is located just two blocks from a main street so it is a great place if you want to check our local food or walk a block or two to the more touristy places with lots of live music and variety in types of food! There is also a lovely card for garden so I spent lots of nice quiet time not leaving the area - overall a great value for money! :)
- Anton (8/5): Very good - Very friendly staff. The A/C wasn't cooling down the room so it was pretty hot during the night.
- Dassanayake (8/5): Great location! - The location was really good! And safe for a solo traveler. The bathroom wasn't as clean as I would have wanted, partly because it was outdoors.
- Gergana (6/5): Pleasant - Great location, walkable to most of the central places in Ubud. There are supermarkets and restaurants near by. Despite the central location, it's on a quiet street and you can barely hear any noise in the bungalows.
The staff were extremely helpful and kind.
The yoga barn, although there were no classes, was a nice addition to the property but again - super unclean and obviously not well maintained. The hygiene of the place is definitely something that can be improved - both outdoors and indoors. Even though my room was cleaned every day, the cleaning seemed to be very very superficial. When I arrived the whole sink was covered in what seemed to be blood from the previous guests...
In addition, given that the bungalows are surrounded by greenery, the rooms often "welcome" animals inside them, which made the experience there unpleasant.
- Michelle (5/5): It was ok for the price. my first budget style homestay and I am not sure i would do it again . - I liked they were responsive when I asked for a high chair to do some work. they provided 2 small bottle of water each day. they emptied bins in the room twice a day. the bed was only ok if I slept in the middle of it. there was some junk lying around the yard. they just need to clean up a bit. I ran out of toilet paper in the middle of the night. Not great in Bali.
- Anderson (10/5): Cheap and Good - Clean and cheap is what explains the place.
- Puninder (3/5): Poor - Staff Property, bedroom,bathrooms
- Tahir (10/5): Peaceful.. - Amazing place in the nature Location is very good close to everywhere,
room always was clean stuff very helpful ( KETUT, AGUNG and KOMANG ( I hope I spell the names right 😊) just you can ask anyting anytime.
Thank you for Eveyting.. Nothing
- Claudio (8/5): Very good - Quite street tucked away from the main messy street, nice and quiet.
- Robert (3/5): Grim. - The staff are really lovely and the location is good. Aircon is passable. Our villa was very unclean. Mould everywhere, 10 year old pillows that smelled disgusting and stains all over the bed head.
The bathroom was horrific. The bathroom door doesn't close, so no privacy for my wife, sink covered in grime. Everything leaking water, including the lightbulbs pipes and roof. Little holes in mosquito netting.
Better places for the same money.
But the staff really are lovely.
- Lucinda (9/5): Superb -
- Alejandra (9/5): The staff are very helpful, friendly and supportive - The staff are very very friendly The facilities are not renovated
- Aileen (9/5): Superb - The location was quiet and peaceful and the bed was the most comfortable that we have slept in whilst in Bali.
- Jozsa (2/5): Very poor - The garden is nice, and you can sit outside your room. It was smelly. It rained a lot and the towels coudn't dry. So they were wetter and smellier every day. The kitchen is also disgusting. The toilet broke down, they fix it, than broke down again, than we have to fix it.
We shuold have got breakfast, but it turned out, that there is no such a thing.
We wouldn't go there again.
- Ignatius (9/5): Superb -
- Megan (8/5): Quiet and clean room in Ubud - They clean your room everyday, they make your bed and you get clean towels. The garden is also really pretty and the hot shower is great. Ac is also really nice and you don't hear any traffic which is nice. The employees are so helpful and kind. You can't close the toilet door all the way, so it is always a little bit open which I don't think is very hygenic.
- Gary (8/5): Great host & housekeeping, good value. - Ketut was extremely helpful & friendly & my room was cleaned every day. The location is ideal for Ubud & quiet. I was able to conveniently rent a scooter from Ketut & he arranged my airport transfer, it was all so easy.
- Mayur (8/5): Very good -
- Juan (10/5): Amazing experience, will definitely come back! - Everything was amazing. The room, the staff, the neighborhood....highly reccomended!
- Ksenia (8/5): Very good - it was good accomindation
- Marisa (10/5): Ketut is so friendly and gentle. I highly recommend - Peaceful place
- Yamato (9/5): helpful staff! quiet place -
- Mehmet (7/5): Worth fo money - Quite place recommended. Nice. Hygine
- Mariamarta (8/5): Very good - The staff was extraordinarily friendly and helpful, which I truly appreciate. Nothing in particular about the guest house, but more about the other guests (foreigners) next doors who were being noisy and inconsiderate while staying in a small and intimate property, e.g. they slammed the door when closing it, talking quite loud in the middle of the night.
- Keatyn (10/5): Exceptional -
- Yang (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kerly (9/5): Great people and great location. - The manager is so kind, the staff very helpful and the location great. A bit old facilites
- Lucy (8/5): - This was a very convinient location if you want to be in the heart of Ubud, you are only a 2 minute walk from lots of nice restaurants and shops! We were two young travelling females and felt very safe the whole time throughout our stay. Super friendly and accommodating staff, and the housekeeping was excellent! The air conditioning was only okay but they supply bottled water every day! the property is older but there was access to a fridge and the family-run vibe was really welcoming!! I would definitely recommend if you're looking for somewhere to go back to at the end of the day after spending your days walking around Ubud!
- Bharath (8/5): Very good -
- Isabel (8/5): Comfi place where to stay - The staff was very friendly, the air conditioning was working as it was meant to, they where make up our room everyday, we could refill our bottle of water, we could rent a scooter there, there room was looking pretty well.
Shower was outside with the sink, and it was cute The door of the toilet didn’t close at all, and it was having an open window with not net for the mosquitoes, so some mosquitos where getting inside from the window’s toilet there.
Not enough bin containers, only the one in the toilet
- Shakona (6/5): Pleasant - The bed was comfortable, the air-conditioning was good. The staff were very friendly. Good location for central Ubud and walking distance to cafes. The gardens were nice. The bathroom was on the below average side, there was no breakfast included or yoga as advertised. We had to ask for fresh towels.
- Alexander (9/5): Peaceful, quiet, and cozy place. - Very friendly staff. Nice outdoor shower and sink. Clean and comfortable bed. Incredibly affordable. Nice outdoor space. Peaceful and quiet location away from main road. Location is a bit far from most of the things I wanted to do, but easy scooter or a 15-20 min walk.
- Gilardi (10/5): Exceptional -
