Guest Reviews
- SHENGYI (9/5): - 这是一家民宿,装修很温馨。出门走几步就是雪场班车,去滑雪很方便
- John (10/5): - Great little inn, the hosts are wonderful and helpful. The location is a pleasant walk up through the village to the ski resort. The local apples available downstairs are some of the best I’ve ever had.
- Christine (9/5): - The staff was nice and welcoming. Location close to the main bus terminal and ski shuttle is one door down. Has a nice shower room/ onsen that we didn’t use, as we explored the many public ones in the area instead. Rooms and bathrooms were super clean. Rooms were bright and sunny. It’s a little walk from the main areas of town, which I liked. It was nice and quiet. The foldable futons were unfortunately super uncomfortable for me. I won’t be able to stay here again because of that.

- Brendan (10/5): Great value for money in convenient location close to everything. - Great location with helpful friendly owner. Neat rooms with a lovely view over the town. Great to unwind with an onsen at the end of a day. Nothing.
- Rachael (10/5): - I loved the location and friendly service. The lodge is located approx. 20 meters from the free ski shuttle bus stop that takes you to Nozawa Ski Resort. We also loved how clean and quiet the rooms were. We would stay here again!
- Vanessa (8/5): We loved our stay at Fujiyoshi. Great hospitality. Very clean and quiet. The hot bath was lovely. The bus stop to the go -
- 洪挺為 (10/5): - 老闆友善溫暖熱情,民宿就在滑雪場接駁車站牌旁,比起正村內能更少的抗板子前往滑雪場,也離中央巴士站不遠,十分方便
- Anne (10/5): It’s a Japanese Ryokan Minsyuku people have to understand it’s NOT a hotel - The property was very clean and organized every morning the bathrooms were cleaned and bath area was cleaned. Our room garbage was removed. Nothing! It was exactly what we needed for our stay
- Laura (10/5): - Our host was a very lovely woman who accommodated us very well. Lovely!
- David (8/5): Good stay for a skiing - Location to town and ski area Onsen bath us so small
- Corinne (10/5): - Absolutely loved our stay at Fujiyoshi! Great location with bus stop for free shuttle up to mountain right outside. The ski/drying room was very handy as well for storing everything at the end of the day. The host was super helpful in arranging bag transfers for us as well.
- Scott Sutton (9/5): - Gorgeous little guest house. Comfortable futon beds in each room. Very short walk to centre of town & restaurants. Shared easy rooms on each floor, shower & hot bath on lower level. Equipment drying room on lower level for all ski/board equipment. Staff were so lovely & kind.
- Tomasz (8/5): Warm homestay in Nozawa Onsen - We loved our stay here. Location was great, room was equipped with a heater, even though there was a lot of snow we were warm and well cared for. Hot bath and ski room were also very nice. Very close to onsen, ski rental and skibus. There is no proper sink in washroom, only one on the toilet - small minus, a bit problematic for teeth washing. Also that part of the room was quite cold, so it was nicer to wash at hotbath downstairs/in local onsen.
- Deepthi (7/5): Overall it’s a good stay - Location Door and staircase
- Alessandro (10/5): Great - The owners beautiful people.
- Kent Wei (7/5): -
- Caitlin (9/5): -
- Joseph (10/5): Exceptional -
- Brooke (9/5): Superb - There was a language barrier with the owner but she was helpful and happy to use google translate to help us! There is a bus stop 30m away that goes to the ski hill so super convenient but otherwise the walk wasn't too bad either. Definitely need to book restaurants in advance if you want to go anywhere to eat.
- Michael (9/5): Superb -
- Mariko (10/5): Exceptional -
- Mark (7/5): Comfortable stay in basic accommodation - Comfortable clean room with nice new shower. Clean and convenient ski drying room downstairs Easy check in with friendly owner. In a quiet part of town. Stayed in the twin room with nice shower but a bit basic overall No sink in the bathroom so needed to go into the shower to clean teeth etc. The beds were very hard. No elevator which made it difficult to get heavy bags and ski gear up and down 3 flights of stairs. No food/breakfast service available. Whilst they had a small public bath, there was no onsen. Whilst it’s close to the fire festival grounds and a shuttle bus stop, it’s a bit of a walk up the hill into town. overall it was ok if you are struggling to find accommodation but a bit overpriced given the location, no breakfast, no onsen etc
- Adam (8/5): Was a great stay, the host was very helpful, the room was comfortable and was the perfect spot to unwind after a day on - Clean tidy and close to the local town bus which takes you right up to the slopes
- Mychaela (9/5): Superb - The host was so lovely!! Room was very nice roomy and good view of the mountain. Drying room and good parking Thought there was a breakfast dinner option, but that was closed the whole time. No problem though as so many good spots to eat nearby
- Dafne (7/5): Good -
- Mona (8/5): Basic but comfy and clean - Everything needed it’s provided. And also our luggage can be left at lobby till late afternoon after checking out Cold toilet and washing up area …
- Punchapat (8/5): Very good -
- Andrew (6/5): Pleasant -
- Ezra (8/5): Very good - Lovely host, very clean hotel. Cosy atmosphere. No hot water or handsoap in the room
- Ebony (10/5): A very welcoming and cosy stay. Felt as though we were staying at a family members. - We loved staying at Fujiyoshi. The warm snow gear room beneath was awesome, and we loved the ‘free corner’ where we enjoyed a delicious apple! The artwork, handmade quilts and old photographs really made it. The stairs were hard after a long day snowboarding haha! But definitely helped keep us fit!!
- Jarad (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jamie (9/5): Superb - Location is fantastic. It's on the shuttle route for the ski resort and walk to town where all the restaurants/bars/stores are located. The staff don't speak English well, but use google translate, so it's never an issue to communicate with them. When we arrived from the bus station, it was a "five" minute walk from the station to their location. It had just snowed feet, so dragging our luggage the last walk more like 10 minutes thru snow was NOT fun. We even had our bag with ski bag shipped there which was waiting for us when we arrived. When we left, we asked about taxi to the bus station. They were SOOOO kind and drove us there with all our luggage which made a huge difference. Location and cost was of great value. We went during high season when many places would not allow you to book for under a week. The ski resort was fabulous too. Cute town with many options for food/drink. It is a shared bathroom, so for westerners, that is a bit of an adjustment, but it's no different than staying at a family's home, and it was super clean. The shower is down in the basement (his and hers). It also is somewhat shared. Since we stayed at a hotel with an onsen, we knew we were supposed to sit on the stool and shower sitting down. The nice part was the water pressure is good and super warm. We tried the japanese style breakfast - it was ready and lovely, but not necessarily what young kids like to eat (semi-hard boiled eggs, salad, yogurt, and bread) with coffee/tea.
- Rebecca (9/5): Wonderful accommodation in a great location - Beautifully appointed Japanese tatami rooms, with private toilet and traditional onsen bathing experience. While it was fully booked, we only saw or heard other guests in the ski drying room. Overall, a lovely experience. My children (14 and 12) were a bit anxious about the bathing experience but there is a lock on the door for privacy if needed.
- Jacqueline (8/5): Very good -
- William (9/5): Superb -
- Amaranthi (10/5): Was very affordable, comfortable accomodation in close proximity to bus stop, restaurants and shops and 10 minute walk t - Homey, cosy, tatami rooms
Japanese breakfasts were delicious and very convenient
Good location, close to bus stop and restaurants
- Heather (7/5): It was a comfortable experience overall with only small inconveniences around washing up. - The room was clean and spacious enough for all our ski clothing, including a small drying rack for wet neck ups and the included scrubbing towel. Towels were changed out daily and trash was emptied daily. Inside the room was a long wall of well spaced hooks to hang coats and towels. There's also a small bathroom with a toilet and sink inside the room, which was convenient. Often places in Japan have shared bathrooms so a private toilet was nice.
The ski storage room had entrances both inside and outside the building. And the ski shuttle stop was just a few steps outside the door.
There were also free apples available everyday and these were delicious! The water from the sink in our bedroom was cold water only. This was not the most pleasant experience when washing hands. For warm water, we had to go down the hall to the shared washroom, which is where we ended up washing our face and brushing our teeth. The hours for the shower facilities are 4pm-10pm, which meant not showering the morning of a long day flying back home.
- Nic (8/5): Very good - Reception was lovely & helpful No breakfast in included in rate
- Huang (10/5): It was great. Would definitely stay here again - Owners were kind and helpful Nth
- Kiah (10/5): I cant wait to come back. The views, location and hosts were amazing. The traditional breakfast and the free corner were - It felt so cozy, welcoming and vibrant. The family/hosts are so accomodating and lovely
- Bas (10/5): Great host and accommodation in Nozawa - Very nice accommodation in Japanese style. Breakfast was amazing and the host is very friendly and helpful.
- Sebastian (10/5): It’s the perfect place to stay for a ski trip to Nozawa Onsen - Great location, great sized rooms and excellent amenities
- Peter (7/5): Super nice staff but inconvenient location from ski resort - It was clean and the staff was really friendly. It’s far from the ski resort; the Japanese tub was old, small and somewhat cold.
- Dorothee (9/5): Superb -
- Lee (8/5): Very good -
- Jannis (9/5): Superb - Very friendly owner and cute decoration, overall very cozy.
Good location in walking distance to Nozawa village.
Shuttle bus stop to the slopes and Iiyama nearby.
- John (7/5): This is a basic pensione. The showers and bath were on the bottom floor and our bedrooms on the top - The scrambled eggs and toast were good with a variety of breads to choose from. We had difficulty communicating with our host to reserve a regular breakfast each morning. She apologised sincerely for not meeting our request.
- Thamm (7/5): Good - Very friendly service and location/access to the ski resort was great. Maybe a traditional pillow and some extra sheets (for pillow and bed) would have made for a cleaner feeling experience. The comforters looked well used - some additional fabric for the comforter and mattress would have been appreciated. The shower is co-located with the bath/onsen, which is hour restricted to the afternoon with requests for the morning available. I ended up using a separate hot spring for showing.
- Rob (9/5): Superb -
- Kiana (8/5): We had a great stay full of family fun. - We loved how cozy the property was. We didn’t know when we booked the property but the fire festival is held right in front of the property which is super cool. We watched the preparations from the property. There were traditional Japanese tatami mat rooms. It was our first time. The traditional breakfast (1500 yen extra) was delicious. The property’s onsen had hot spring water and it was clean. Wonderful staff! Super kind and helpful. The distance into the center of town was reasonable and not a far walk at all. The free skiing shuttle bus is super close to the property. The property description stated free parking, but it wasn’t. There is a large parking lot in front of the property and it cost us 2000 yen for 2 days.
The room heater shuts off after 8 hours, and when it shuts off it makes loud beeping sounds in the middle of the night.
- Qiang (8/5): Very good -
- Juan (9/5): Superb -
- Vladimir (8/5): Very good -
