Guest Reviews
- Richards (10/5): Will definitely be back recommend it to anyone - Peace and quiet the atmosphere views was all perfect Maybe the beds a little softer but everything else was perfect
- Anastasia (9/5): Wonderful location for a cosy beach stay - The location Crappy provisions. ie no olive oil, no milk in the fridge, only a few tea bags.
No highchair
- Brooke (6/5): The location is a rare find, but many people may be disappointed with other aspects of the property. - Overall, you are paying for the beautiful location of this house, which is fabulous, a beachfront house in a quiet coastal town surrounded by nature. Whilst access and parking are all good the property requires alot of maintenance. The kitchen area and main living are lovely spaces. I don't think it is suitable for more than 2 adults due to the bedding and rooms on offer. We've stayed in a lot of 'old or heritage' houses and were not expecting perfection but it is unacceptable that the windows are not functioning or able to be opened. We managed to open one but had to prop the sash up using a book. Additionally there are no flyscreens, so in hot weather it could be a little stifling. The bathroom is very dated and there are no photos of this online. Due to this the house is really only suitable for 2 adults and a couple of kids. Also on the boundary there is red brick house which is not fenced or camoflauged by plantings which felt a bit strange. It is pretty clear the bare minnium is being done to maintain the property for rental purposes. If you know all these things before booking it would be helpful.
- Ellie (7/5): 2 day stay - Fantastic view of the coastline, nice and peaceful just what we wanted, well equipped kitchen
- Leanne Manniche (9/5): A beautiful location and warm and comfortable stay! - We loved the location so close to the beach and the house stayed warm and was very cosy. It had most things for an enjoyable stay. Was just a bit short on a few necessary items - toilet brush, hairdryer and sink sponges. We ended up buying some of them.
- Craig (9/5): Warm comfortable home in amazing location - Lovely comfortable home in amazing location Nothing
- Nai (9/5): Superb -
- Brian (6/5): N/A - The location of the property in relation to the beach and main roads was excellent.Disappointed in the cleanliness of the property overall.Living area was large and open plan which suited our group of four.
We believe the property needs some serious work carried out in relation to cleaning the outdoor chairs and courtyard area, also the supposed laundry area as it was cluttered. There was no ironing board nor iron. In addition we were unable to locate the guest instruction and book. Please see above comment.
- Wendy (8/5): Very enjoyable - Location Location of washing machine
- Anne (7/5): Good - Views of the ocean
- Karyl (10/5): Exceptional - Absolutely incredibly stunning property! Everything was wonderful and even though it's 100 years old, it was pretty modern. Loved the peace and quiet, the view, the well equipped kitchen, the great TV, wonderful large couch - everything was just amazing. Thank you for renting out such a spectacular accommodation. Nothing, other than I didn't book for long enough and sad to leave ๐
- Denise (10/5): Perfect location for a special weekend away - Beautifully styled home in a glorious location.
Everything provided including firelighters and wood, tea, coffee and milk and lots of champagne flutes
Dog friendly status was very appreciated Some minor maintenance is required with main bedroom door handle and hinges and a blind in the living room
- Andrew (9/5): Superb - Location was wonderful. Loved the log fire. The cottage was originally built by my grandfather Ellis George Crisp from " Lewis Hill" so it was very nostalgic to stay there. Beds in 2nd an 3rd bedrooms weren't very comfortable.
- Raymond (10/5): Exceptional -
- Todd (10/5): Awesome break - Great place - beautiful view
- Newton (8/5): Great place and location. Very helpful staff. - The location and the living areas and kitchen The toilet and bathroom. Need to stop next door cars using front lawn to park and turn. Maybe a dividing fence.
- Ann (10/5): Location, Location, location!! Perfect get away for beach lovers! Loved the easy access to beach. - The location of White Shell Cottage is perfect. A fantastic view of the ocean, 2 minute walk to the beach and continuous sound of waves all day and night! A fabulous comfortable, clean and homely house to totally relax and recharge. Plenty of room to do nothing but relax! Hard to leave so I will be back for another dose of total recharge time! Perhaps some fly screens on the windows and door for those warm nights to let the cool sea breeze in and the sound of the waves. Pease check the dust in the bathroom light/heater. A night light in the hall would be useful. Also, windows could do with a clean to appreciate the view.
- Sheng (8/5): Enjoy - Clean and location are excellent
- Mark (10/5): By far our favourite stay EVER!!! - The most incredible location and view!!!
Super cozy cottage which seems like a modern design although itโs over 100 yrs old. Amazing view from inside the cottage too!
Loved the fireplace which warmed the cottage or just for ambience.
The beach which is a 1 minute walk is also incredible. Nothing!
- Katie (8/5): Very good -
- Nicole (10/5): I wish I stayed longer - The cottage was so perfect- exactly what I was looking for. I loved it so much I would love the design to build where I live! Nothing
- Susan (10/5): Exceptional - The location of this property is superb and it is a very relaxed place to stay and unwind. The fire is cozy and the view from the main living area is fabulous. The cottage is decorated in a relaxed beach style I love everything about this cottage this was our second visit and we will be back so there is nothing that I don't like about this place.
- Tricia (9/5): This is an excellent get away - The position of the property is absolutely the drawcard. The town of Falmouth is such a beautiful little gem and the beach walks were fabulous;
Also a big bonus was the fact that a item from the pantry (soup) saved us, when we couldn't (didn't plan well) get any food on Sunday night in St Helens and Scamander.
My request for an additional item in the kitchen was quickly attended to. The wood heater isn't very efficient and it was a shame that we had to run the heat pump as well.
- David (9/5): Great location and nice feel of the premises - Bathroom tap leaks
- Ronald (9/5): A fine evening - Fantastic location A little bit underdone in the cleaning department
- Fiona (10/5): Exceptional -
- Andrew (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ada (10/5): Just delightful. - The views were jaw dropping, the air and general scenery were delightful. I could easily live here. Put some curtains in the central walkway to keep the warmth from escaping.
- Anonymous (7/5): Good -
