- Viral Brahmabhatt (9/5): Best Location for trackers and closure to amenities -
- Kimberley (3/5): -
- Jed (2/5): Disappointed - Location Heater or a/c didn’t work some lights didn’t work over priced for just a bunk bed in a tiny room no towel or face cloths or extra linen supplied
- C Thompson (7/5): A good price for an early morning start into the mountains. - Pipers Ski Lodge was good for our one night stay, it gave us the opportunity to go on our planned hike earlier than if we had left from home. The receptionist was quite new to her job and made sure (her own initiative) to put us in an area away from some more noisy guests; we appreciated. The place lacks a cosy feel, the whiteboard by the entrance was not up-to-date.
- claudia (6/5): Cheap and cheerful - Good for kids. Spa pools. Getting dated, but for a quick stay with kids will suffice
- JUAN CAMILO (9/5): -
- Zane (7/5): -

- Sarah (9/5): - Great location and perfect for our school trip. Friendly staff.
- Marion (8/5): An affordable place for a family of four - Very clean. Retro, cosy.
Wenig Steckdosen. UBS Steckdosen funktionierten gar nicht. Frühstück war dürftig, nur Continental Frühstück. Musste selbst zubereitet werden.

- Oscar (7/5): - Friendly and helpful staff, and a spacious common area, plus breakfast was included.
The hot tub option is highly recommended. The rooms are basic cots and the bathroom can be a little distant

- Estefanía (1/5): Fatal - Nada No me gusto absolutamemte nada. Mesillas a medio hacer o viejas.

- Ashna (9/5): Great budget friendly place to stay, super convenient and clean! - The staff was very helpful and friendly, our stay was so comfortable. The room, bathrooms were all so clean. Thank you Pipers Ski Lodge :)
- I-NI (8/5): -
- Rachel (1/5): Would not stay again - The staff were very friendly and kind. The ensuite bathroom was new and clean. The games arcade is a nice feature. Our room was warm. - In general the place was dirty, including a blood stain on the towel, food on the ‘clean’ tea cups, and other spreads and crumbs in the spreads jar. The spa water was greasy it was so old and dirty. Older facilities are fine, if they’re clean and well maintained.
- We bought spa and sauna and THEN found out the sauna isn’t working. We went to get dinner and a drink, which is heavily advertised in the foyer, to find it not open. If you’re setting expectations with notices and advertising, they should be delivered on.
- the shared kitchen was clean, but full of food from the long term guests who work at the ski field, so really not feasible to cook for a family in there due to space.

- Atalie (8/5): Comfy family ski lodge - Great location. Old fashioned ski lodge appeal. Lovely sunny dining room for the included breakfast, with a view of the mountain. Good value for money. Only 1 power outlet for room, with a multiboard hanging down the wall. Sofas face away from the open fire.
- Karen (10/5): - The host was awesome. She was attentive to all customers, she was present and pleasant. The set up was good and catered well to all group types. There were no dis-likes
- Harry (6/5): Good location and comfortable stay - Beds are comfortable and clean and location is good.
Plenty of parking.
The place was nice and warm on arrival. The sauna was not working and we were told that the spa pool was dirty.
Not much of a bar area.
The vending machines only took wepay

- kasey (6/5): - Nice property great with kids and pretty easy to use nice arcade n spa beds are very springy and not to comfortable could feel all springs. Otherwise very lovely stat
- Jamie (2/5): - sauna out of order. You have to pay for spa pool, six dollars per person for only an hour! Scam. Shower was flooding and very claustrophobic. Had to wait 20 minutes becuase staff was no where to be seen. had to call the owner multiple times and he sounded disintrerested in our requests. bunk beds were very uncomfortable and loud.
- Christian (8/5): - It was close to where we wanted to go during our stay.
- Amy (10/5): Awesome staff, facilities and stay - thank you! - Breakfast was great quality for a continental Maybe a way for the door into lounge to be less loud - we heard it slamming a lot when trying to sleep in Room 19
- Edibpm (7/5): Good -
- Kimberley (10/5): - Accomodation was perfect for what we needed. The staff was friendly and there were plenty of ammenities. Everything was clean and tidy and the common areas and rooms were kept to a lovely warmth. The continental breakfast was a nice addition.
- Byron (7/5): Good -
- Hansen (8/5): Very good - Was a wonderful experience for our son to stay somewhere different, older ski lodge with large open fire, we dried our jackets infront of drinking hot chocolate.
Aawesome games room, 20 minutes to the mountain.
It was a weekend away we all enjoyed 🫶
- Cherise (10/5): Great place - Amazing service and staff. So helpful and kind towards children. The games room was a huge hit. Nothing great place nice atmosphere with the fire loads of facilities to grab a free hot drink..
- Diana (9/5): Superb -
- Mindy (3/5): disappointing - it was shutting down was dark and cold was shutting for renos but if we had of known we wouldnt have gone ,ice cold spas
- Darren (7/5): Good -
- Paul (7/5): Friendly staff. Very helpful. Beds were comfortable -
- Sergei (9/5): Superb -
- Michael (8/5): Very good - Good location for hikes and access to the national parks. Staff were helpful and nice! It's a bit tired, the room had a bit of a draft which was fixed by putting on the heating, but generally it feels like it could do with some love and care. The social room is great and I think this place would be awesome during the high season but there's a little work needed to tidy it up a bit generally
- Gech (7/5): Great base for Tongariro - Great location to do the Tongariro Alpine Crossing. Staff are very keen and helpful. Was a brisk night so trips to the communal bathroom were chilly.
- Prue (7/5): it was the right location and had what we were needing for our stay there. - beds were good and quiet room. kitchen was accessible and clean. staff were friendly and helpful with requests. it had all we needed for our stay. we were able to use the kitchen to cook our tea. spa finished off the day nicely. the drying room was hard to find the light switches and wondered if we were allowed to use the area. it said there were meals available but i didn't see where you could order or a menu for this. in saying this we were pretty self-sufficient for our lunch and dinner meals.
- Heather (8/5): Good value, functional hotel - Functional hotel. Good room accommodation, comfy beds, good position. Good value stay. Staff are friendly and helpful. Pretty chilly (no heating on in April). Everything looked shut (hot tubs, games room etc) and whilst we could have asked for them to be opened up it made them look uninviting. Breakfast ok but very basic.
- June (10/5): Exceptional - I liked everything
- Paras (8/5): Good value - Hot tub. Value for money. Showers could be cleaner. Sauna was out of order. First night was a little bit cold
- Steven (5/5): Passable - Location, relatively cheap. Plug socket inconvenient position and it was impossible to secure plug on it.
- Sumaiya (10/5): The amazing Pipers ski Lodge - Pipers ski Lodge was just AWESOME. I would definitely love to come here again.
- Graeme (6/5): Pleasant -
- Jivitkumar (8/5): Staff were very accommodating - Clean Budget
- Glynnis (2/5): - We had booked a room for 150 NZ dollars to be told on arrival we had booked a 90 NZ dollar budget room with shared bathroom but were charged the extra $60 by Expedia for booking through them! We said we wanted a private bathroom so the guy charged us an extra $49 making out he had had to juggle rooms for us ( when we returned later to return our key no cars were in the car park suggesting the place was not full). For $200 we found rooms are normally pretty nice in New Zealand.
This room was appalling, the double bed looked ancient and well worn, the bathroom was no bigger than a cupboard and looked unclean and whilst there my partner got two bug bites on his torso. We asked for a refund but were told NO and the guy, who I presume was the owner or .manager was totally dismissive.! This is known as a backpacker place by locals but its a very poor and very expensive backpacker place (backpackers deserve better) There are much better places around and in the village at better prices and clean. We decided to find elsewhere to stay and are so far out of pocket @ $200. Based on our experience I'd avoid at all costs. Will be contacting Expedia
- Eleanor (7/5): Value for money budget accomodation - Very friendly helpful staff
- Richard (8/5): Very good -
- Ryan (6/5): - A nice compromise between a hostel and hotel type of accommodation. Could be cleaner.
- Jason (8/5): Very good - It Was older but had everything we needed.
- Taleen (5/5): Passable -
- Kay (6/5): Pleasant -
- Olya (3/5): Hostel priced at hotel levels - Good location
Beds are comfortable
The poor single stuff on site was actually doing his best What a rip off - I paid the same as Park hotel for the night and got half of the value. Share bathrooms, tiny rooms without TV, bunk style. Its a dorm/ hostel not a hotel
Spa was broken and I paid for it
You have to rent a towel!
Breakfast was included but there was no sign of it at 7
- Enrico (6/5): Pleasant -
- Kerry (5/5): Passable -
- Tam (7/5): Good - Fun lodge, nice touches like tea and coffee in lounge. Late checkin process needs sorting.,Q
- Mohan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Miyuki (8/5): Very good - Spa and sauna were great after long tramping.
Breakfast was provided and was good. The bed was shaky and make noise a lot.
I wished body soap provided at the shower room.
- Ezra (8/5): Very good - Pipers is set up for having fun. The kids loved the games room, pool table, table tennis, spas. Cheffys meals were delicious. All the staff were super friendly and helpful. Although the facilities were a little older, everything was clean and tidy
- Douglas (9/5): Superb -
- Kilford (4/5): The kitchen certainly was unacceptable hygienic expectations. The Fijian was cooperative. - Simple yet unsatisfactory. Comfortable and cosy room. No top sheets. Kitchen: appeared that it was not serviced by staff, recycling bin was overflowing, food scrap bin was more than half filled, the tea towels so unclean that we used our own, in a word: unhygienic. Supposed to provide pen and labels to mark our food in triges but NO labels and the marker pen was useless. The soap dispenser on the wall near room 109 was empty. There was an empty one on the bench. The facilities were basic and spartanic. We wondered if the friendly but irresponsible Fijian was the only host on duty:- the kitchen!!!
- Anton (8/5): - The 6 bedroom room, was just big enough for us. The room was quickly warmed up by the heatpump. The kitchen was well setup and the fridges were perfect to keep our food fresh. Oh, and the breakfast was just what we needed to start the day
- Helen (6/5): Pleasant - Great location The place needed a good clean
The communal kitchen was really dirty
- Carmen (8/5): Very good -
- Raymond (8/5): Great place to stay - This is set out great for Skiing holidays and I can image the place buzzing when full but there were few of us there. Considering this is like a hostel type accommodation the bathroom was very good the gentleman who booked us in was really friendly and helpful. Great laundry and drying room so able to do washing. Because of time of year the resteraunt and bar were shut
- Andrew (6/5): Pleasant -
- Fay (8/5): Very good -
- Alma (10/5): Great stay - The staff. The showers are amazing. Toilets. So clean. The brekkie mmm so good The wifi doesnt reach when you are un the kitchen. Thats all
- N (7/5): Good -
- Robin (8/5): Very good - Good location and nice rooms. OK value for money Shared bathrooms were outside and it was quite cold to get to them.
- Steve (4/5): High cost, low quality - Good location, decent bathroom Very expensive rates for tired low quality property.
No amenities of any kind (hairdryer, drinking glasses, refrigerator).
I sent a request through booking.com to checkout a day early which they didn’t respond to and then the front desk advised no refund available because I booked through booking.com, whereas booking.com said it was up to the property.
