Guest Reviews
- Verified traveler (6/5): Could be amazing with a bit more attention - This place could be amazing based on its location and layout, but unfortunately it needs some love and attention. The worst feature is by far the bathroom which is utilitarian at best, plus it actually doubles as the washing utility area.
There are little things like screw holes in the walls and cheap hooks for hanging clothes which really detract from could be an amazing property.
The kitchen is functional and I was able to whip up a decent breakfast with all the appliances available. Although there was only one set of wines glasses for one person, which meant we ended up drinking from different glasses.
Bedding and linen was good and bedroom was comfortable, although the bedside lamp bulbs were broken.
The balcony and has bbq were better than I expected and I really looked forward to sitting outside in the warm summer sun enjoying a glass of wine. Unfortunately the weather had other ideas so I stuck on my raincoat and drank my wine outside anyway and admired the view of the harbour and the many ferries coming and going. Please make sure you check the cruise ship schedule for docking at princes wharf before you book or you would come face to face with cruise passengers from your balcony.
Last parking was not available with the unit for me and you’re in the heart of the CBD you need to plan where you park otherwise it gets expensive fast. Downtown car park in very close option.
Overall I enjoyed the space but I’d expect better finish for the cost
- Carolyn (4/5): - The apartment was absolutely gorgeous with stunning views. The air conditioning unit was not working. We contacted the Princes Wharf team who said they would get someone to look at it. No one came despite asking a second time. It is a sunfilled apartment so the indoor temperature would have been at least 30 degrees as the outside was 27 degrees. It was over Xmas Eve and Christmas so I understand the lack of staff but it really was unacceptable. When I wrote to the Princes Wharf team after our stay, to let them know we would like some kind of compensation as our stay was very unpleasant due to this issue, they came back and told me they checked to Air Conditioning unit after our stay and it was working fine. My husband is an engineer who knows everything about this type of thing so I don't believe them for a second.
It was a Xmas treat as it has been a devastating year for us. Shame on the staff at Princes Wharf Apartments!
- Laszlo (8/5): Great location but run down - The pictures are deceptive; they use pictures from another flat! This is not a corner/end unit; the furniture is different. It is comfortable and spacious although a king size bed would have been more comfortable. The furniture and the whole flat are run down, the patio furniture is on its last leg, crumbling and stained. The bonded leather of the dining chairs is vigorously peeling. The refrigerator is missing most of its shelves, the seal falling off. The carpet is stained. The whole Princes Wharf needs an update; it has been eclipsed by the newer Viaduct Harbour nearby. It was probably the hottest address cca 20 years when it was built but now needs a refurbishment. The front door to the building is unreliable, sometimes it opens with the token, sometimes not. The location is great, right in CBD. The view is nice, unless a cruise ship docks right next to the terrace. Due to the lockdown the one we encountered was empty except for a small staff but would hate a full, big cruise ship with hundreds of balconies and passengers facing the terrace and the flat.
A big supermarket is nearby, a lifesaver when all restaurants were closed down.
- Bevan (6/5): - Pretty grubby and tired, but comfortable.
- Kahli (10/5): - the stay was beautiful.but not very happy that this motel charged me and extra 50 dollars to use the sofa bed that already came with the room.. and you need to accomodate for parking.. one park per room as i paid so much for parking at this motel
- Lukas (10/5): Highly recommend - This apartment was beautiful and extremely well-appointed. The bed was super comfortable, and the living room had a spectacular view! Conveniently located, especially for our ferry ride to Waiheke Island. Thanks for a fabulous stay.
- Verified traveler (10/5): -
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The property is a comfortable space with plenty of room, The kitchen is well equipped and the bed was very comfortable. Whilst there is external lighting on adjacent buildings the blackout blinds in the bedroom ensured a good night's sleep.
Despite arriving at 1.00am, the apartment was easy to access which was a relief for two tired travellers.
It has a great outlook over the port and Auckland's main ferry terminal.
It is in an excellent to explore the city from and there are many good restaurants very close by.
We will try to book this property on our next visit to Auckland.
- Paula (10/5): Amazing..out of this world. - We walked in our suite and felt like we had left New Zealand and were on an island somewhere in the Pacific. It was delightful! To add to the view was the S/V Esmeralda which was lit up beautifully at night and was an event to watch leave the harbour with all the crew lined up in formal uniform and singing at the top of their voices...
- Verified traveler (10/5): Amazing view of the water - I would definitely stay here again if I happened to be back in Auckland. Loved everything about the property. It was very clean, comfortable and with the most beautiful view.
- MAUREEN (10/5): - The property is in good location and great view! :) we will come back and let other people know how knowledgable the staff from luggage hotel and the apartment we stayed in is super!!!!! Thank you for letting us stay ❤ from California
- Philip (10/5): Auckland Harbour - Beautifully equipped, great location and fantastic views of Auckland harbour
- Denise (10/5): Prime location with beautiful views - This apartment is a lovely corner unit right next to the Ferry Building in Auckland. Fully stocked kitchen and bathroom. Washer and dryer were a plus (and detergent was provided). Thorough instructions regarding the apartment and procedures. Check in and check out was easy. Parking secure and simple. Quick communication with the management company, though I felt like the fees weren't fully outlined when I was booking (credit card usage fees, etc.) so make sure you inquire before you book if you aren't sure. Area felt safe to walk around after dark. Lots of access to transportation, shops, restaurants. Highly recommend and if we are back in the area, I hope to book again.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Great location and lovely views.
- Andrew (8/5): Great sub penthouse with good views - This place has all the modern comforts of home with a good use of space on the balcony. We made use of the outdoor gas heater whilst enjoying our complimentary bottle of sparkling wine. Bed was comfortable and baby cot was of good use. Only downside was paying for baby cot, cleaning and parking ontop of our initial booking.
