We were greeted by the biggest smiles and they couldn't have been more helpful. Luisa is also an excellent cook. The room was very clean and bed very comfy. Had the best night sleep. We liked everything

• Stephen (6/5): A very quiet, remote place to stay on your journey. - View from the room. Need to continue with the refresh of the property to justify this price point. Bar/restaurant was in use by a function. No one present at reception on checkout to report broken toilet seat.

• Odd Jan (2/5): Bo et annet sted! - Fin utsikt fra rommet. Rolig rom. Gode senger. Frokosten var absolutt ikke verdt pengene vi betalte ekstra. Pizzaen vi bestilte smakte forferdelig og kostet ENORMT (over 400 kroner!!!!). Badet var veldig gammeldags og manglet håndsåpe!

• Petru (8/5): - Best location in Sognefjord! We took a day off from our road trip, and this was the perfect place to stay. The personnel was charming, the food was good, and the view just marvelous. In walking distance, a small supermarket and a public beach.
• Sonja (8/5): Great stories of Sogn Fjord and interesting people. - Very friendly and heopful staff both evening and morning. Kind of run down, but they're fixing that. Everything was clean, but no hairdryer in the room. That's become pretty standard by now, I believe.

• Lorena (8/5): Buena opción si quieres descansar en ruta. - Las vistas desde la habitación y la tranquilidad. Personal muy amable. Ideal para descansar una noche y seguir ruta. Es un pequeño hotel en un pequeño pueblo. Tiene dos pequeños tramos de escaleras para llegar a las habitaciones, molesto si vas con mucho equipaje. Desayuno modesto, falta algo de fruta.
• Gerarda (7/5): Goede optie voor een nacht - Vanuit onze kamer hadden we een mooi uitzicht over het fjord en we hebben een leuk gesprek gehad met het vriendelijke personeel. Bij boeking was de optie incl. ontbijt niet mogelijk, maar ter plekke bleek dat wél mogelijk. Het was ergens rustig vanwege erg weinig gasten. Het hotel is vergane glorie en moet gerenoveerd worden. Daar zijn ze mee bezig/aan begonnen. Verder ligt het in een klein dorp waar niks te doen is. Prima voor een doorreis. De lokale supermarkt is klein en het enige cafe heeft weinig keus. (Wat gebak en een tosti)

• Verified traveler (8/5): Fint opphold - Fint sted å stoppe for en natt pause i reisingen/kjøringen. Rolig sted med flott natur og badenulighet rett ved hotellet. Rommet var greit, nydelig utsikt, men litt varmt om sommeren og myke senger.

• Lars (8/5): - Owners are very nice and hospitable. Location has a beautiful view and both breakfast and dinner was fresh made by owners. Place is clean and rooms are taken care of although hotel is slightly dated. However the friendly owners make up for the outdated building and the atmosphere was friendly and comfortable.
• Michelle (8/5): Very good - The view of the fjord is amazing in a quiet little town. Although at the end of the season, the staff were excellent and very informative about Norway and places to visit. The breakfast was good and offered everything we needed. We enjoyed a very large homemade pizza for supper at the hotel. This is a perfect stopover where you can visit Balestrand to the left and then head to Bergen to the right.
• Verified traveler (8/5): - Very nice little hotel, warm welcome, clean room with beautiful view to the fjord. My suggestion to the host when you offer breakfast at the additional cost please make sure it is decent and please do not act rude when being asked about vegetarian alternatives. There were none, so we being vegetarian felt tricked into paying for nothing.

• Libby (10/5): A view to die for! - Breathtaking view! Great fun decorating with lots of interesting art work. Doors in hallway painted by an artist making for a super hallway to rooms. Delicious pizza and friendly staff. Nothing wrong here!

• Russell (9/5): A wonderful stay! - The most delightful surprise of our trip to Norway! We arrived at 7:30 pm in this tiny Norwegian fantasy hamlet. The outside of the hotel which is under significant renovation gave me pause. But the lobby was updated, as well as the small restaurant/bar space. We had not eaten, and there were clearly no obvious possibilities. But we were warmly greeted and told they were making pizza for guests until 9:00 for which we were very grateful. Nominal charge and they even had a bar! Room was small, but comfortable and very clean and they actually had bar soap! The view from our room (think I paid a little extra for that) was just out of a fairy tale! And the whole evening was so quiet (we'd just left the busyness Geiranger). After our pizza we walked the little town and waterfront! Most amazing was the art work throughout -- original work by a famous Oslo street artist on every room's door. Parts of the building are still without updated work, but we loved it! I had paid for the breakfast included and it was fine! Coffee available all day. Fishing just in front of the hotel. Actually nothing. Not sure there were any places to eat anywhere else so not sure staying more than one night would have worked. although there was a small convenience store next door.

The room faced the lake with a wonderful view, beds were very comfy. The room was very clean. The dinner we had in their restaurant was very good. Most of, all I left my jacket at their hotel and they very kindly posted it to my final destination in Finland - not many hotels would go to this trouble - they are exceptional. It was just an excellent location and place to stay and I would highly recommend it to anyone and will be returning one day. nothing it was awesome

• Mary (8/5): Pretty good - The location right on the water was superb! The dinner was good, but price was a bit high. Cramped quality of room, dated and worn carpet in hallways. For the price, breakfast should have been included.
• James (5/5): Adequate for a single night in transit, but no more than that. - The only staff we met were friendly and welcoming, and even popped out to the local supermarket to get ingredients for the evening meal. Pizzas that were provided were good. Facility smelled of fish & chips. Meal times were inflexible, with the kitchen closing quite early. This would not be an issue if there were other establishments in the near vicinity. But there weren't - the next door craft beer café was closed. About the only other place open was the supermarket. Room ventilation was inadequate and it proved impossible to open any windows.
• Chris (8/5): Excellent for a stopover. Don't miss it. - Although the hotel's public areas are a little tired this is outweighed by the very clean rooms and the helpful attitude of the staff. The optional breakfast was an extra expense but was very good. If you stay at hotels regularly you will be used to food being left out and fried eggs especially quickly become hard and congealed. Not so here, the bacon and eggs were freshly cooked to order. A small thing perhaps, but indicative of how much the friendly staff try to please the guests. We also ate in the restaurant and shared an enormous pizza. Again this was specially prepared and cooked to our taste. The views both from the rooms and the extensive grounds across the fjiord are fantastic. Recommended. Nothing really.
• Annette (4/5): Styr unna!!! - Ekstremt overpriset, både overnatting og IKKE MINST maten i restauranten. Bare to retter på menyen, begge halvfabrikata: pizza og fish' n chips. Betalte kr 295 og 345 for dette, vi fikk sjokk. Og nei, ingen meny vi kunne se prisene på. 125 kr for boksøl.... Madrassen på sengen var utslitt så til de grader. Kranen på badet lekket, dusjkabinett. Ikke varm mat frokost, og den kostet kr 150. Kommer aldri tilbake.

• Sunniva Frida (4/5): OK. - We had a fine stay, and the staff was very kind and helpful, but the hotel needs a serious renovation. The window sill seemed rotten.The smell of frying-oil was everywhere. The hotel is very overpriced. We stayed at an Airport Hotel in Kastrup with ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ stars for the same price as Sogn Hotel which is ⭐️⭐️⭐️ stars. Furthermore, some of the facilities listed on hotels.com are not true.

• Thomas (9/5): Great location in a beautiful landscape - Fantastic location with a beautiful view (when you have the sea view) 😉. Really nice owners who give the personal touch, and doing some very nice evening meals. Comfortable beds and clean rooms. Very nice and cool decoration of the rooms and hallways, with high-class spray-painted Norwegian motives. All good, some windows could be changed, but they are working on it.
• Mariam (8/5): Recommend to stay at this hotel if you want to forget the world for a minute. - The hotel has a really beautiful scenery of the Sogne fjord. The staff over there are very very kind and helpful. Really nice staff :) The food they offer at their restaurant changes everyday but everyday they add really good delicious food. We ate at their restaurant our whole stay! everything they served was yummy! :) The only disadvantage is that everything is far away from this hotel. nothing is close .. closest tourist attraction was like 1-2hrs drive away. :(

The hosts were amazing - warm, kind and helpful. They went out of the way to help plan a birthday surprise. The food in the restaurant was delicious - made to order pizza was just too good. The bedroom was very comfortable and clean. Everything was great. They are still making some renovations on the property.

• Lise (10/5): - We loved this hotel. The owners were fluent in both norwegian and english. The rooms were fun with different famous norwegians as themes to the rooms. Dinner was great! hand made pizza with wine. Breakfast was wonderful too.Eggs, bacon, all the traditional norwegian breakfast foods too. enjoyed waking up to the sounds of the harbor through the window we'd opened. Would def. stay again

• Steinar (4/5): Trist - Dårlig info ang. priser. Lading av elbil kostet 200,- pr. dag. dette er langt over hva dette burde koste, prisen ble heller ikke opplyst om før ved avreise. Betjeningen virket hyggelige, men mangel på info. Følte prisen på lading var det som fikk dette til å bli en Veldig dårlig opplevelse. Andre hotteller tar langt unna denne prisen. Prisen på rommet var også i overkant dyrt sammenlignet med kvalitet.
