Guest Reviews
- Prince (8/5): - Too noisy in the night. Room is very clean but too much air refreshner
- Nana (10/5): - Exceeded expectations
- Robert (10/5): - Staff was kind and accommodating. Helped us with transportation and other issues. The restaurant had a very extensive menu which we enjoyed.
- BRANTUO (10/5): - Was good experience
- George Tiberiu (4/5): - While considered one of the better hotels in Kumasi, Sweet Garden is far from what you'd like to expect in terms of room comfort, amenities, staff hospitality and so on. The beds are hard, and the rooms are overall empty and not quite clean. For the prices they charge, this is a below average experience. I would not go back there.
- Fredrik (8/5): - Good place to stay
- Steven (8/5): - Hotel is on the quiet side of town
- Pim (6/5): - X
- JONATHAN (6/5): Could be nice but isn’t - This hotel has a lot of potential but is let down by multiple small issues and poor service. There are no plug sockets next to the bed, the place is a building site and the breakfast is absolutely appalling. The staff are indifferent and the food is overpriced.
- Donna (10/5): - I only stayed here 1 night . So basically it was a very nice place the restaurant I had Lunch and it was Very good staff was very attentive in the restaurant and the front desk even tried to help me extend my flight with my airline. I didn't expect this and she did it without even asking me. My room was a bit close to the pool and they were having a little music and I just wanted to sleep early. I called the front desk they quickly switched my room sent someone to bring my things to another room. Very attentive I would stay again longer to enjoy the facilities.
- Kate (10/5): - Great customer service
- adolf akuoko (8/5): - Beautiful and spacious rooms
- Sumantra (8/5): - Rooms were large and big. Shower head was broken and there was no hot water but with the heat cold water was welcome. We did find a coach roach in the bathroom but those are usually unavoidable in this part of the world. Dinner was excellent and staff were very accommodating and helpful. Breakfast was large and delicious as well. Swimming pool was also excellent.
- Eric (10/5): - Great place to stay
- Joel (10/5): - I like the ambiance of the place & how friendly the staff was when you’re in need of any help.
- Edward (10/5): - Excellent service.
- Judith (10/5): - My check in was very smooth and staff are very welcoming and helpful. I love the serene nature of the place. I will definitely make a stop there anytime I’m in Kumasi !
- Afrane Okessey (10/5): - I liked the room condition and the staff service
- Howard (10/5): - Had a great time staff where fantastic food was great decor needed some attention
- Mike (10/5): - Had a great experience at sweet garden. The staff were great especially Nancy - the receptionist and Monica, the rest of the breakfast crew. Thank you
- teresa (8/5): - Beautiful property. Beds were too hard, way beyond firm and felt like boards. Bathroom was spacious and the food was good at the on-site restaurant. Staff were gracious
- LAWSON (6/5): - No WiFi provided
- Ebo (10/5): - Wi-Fi needs to improve
- Daniel (8/5): - I like the peace and tranquility in and around the property.
- Patrick (8/5): - Lovely place
- Amelia (4/5): - The gardens around the property were very beautiful, but the rooms were in need of repair. Very hard beds, only a bath towel no face cloth no hand towel no bar soap Bed sheets were stained and dengi When you used shower the entire floor got wet . Only 4 TV channels
- Simone (4/5): - The property is well maintained, clean and relaxing. However I was unable to sleep, the beds were so hard it felt like I was sleeping on hard wood. I have never seen beds that were rock hard. I was unable to sleep throughout the night. My husband tried sleeping on the sofa in the room because of how hard the bed was. The room had tea, coffee and sugar but no creamer, I went to the receptionist to get a packet of creamer and did not know there was a charge for it until I was checking out. I was charged 20 GHS for 2 single serve packets of cornation creamer, it is not the cost it is the principle that they did not tell me that there would be a charge. If they are going to have tea and coffee in the room at least put one packet of creamer and dont charge, without informing the guest when they ask for a packet.
- Michelle (8/5): - I didn’t like the fact that there were no fans aside air conditioning. Not everyone would want to be in the AC for too long.
- Sally (10/5): - This hotel has the most beautiful grounds, full of plants and flowers. Rooms were spacious and clean. Staff was great. Wonderful restaurant, outdoor dining, and bar.
- Vernell (10/5): - It was a very pleasant overnight stay. Our waiter Kingsley was the best. The manager and front desk staff were amazing and very helpful. Thank you!
- Michelle (8/5): - I liked the room very much.
- Sheila (8/5): - The restaurant was great. They had good food
- Verified traveler (6/5): An ok stay - Very spacious room however the air conditioning needs an upgrade. Wasn’t blowing cold air.
- Angelina (8/5): - Nice place
- Angelina (6/5): - Nice
- NanaYaa (8/5): - The property and room was beautiful however, the towels were dirty. When I requested for clean towels. The housekeeper was very rude to me and said that they didn’t have any towels I had to go to the front desk to make a complaint before I got towels.
Also, the gym was under construction, which I found very disappointed as I wanted to use the gym in the morning
- Abigail (10/5): - This is a lovely hotel, although undergoing construction work when we stayed and with a few teething problems in the newly refurbished room (that the team worked hard to resolve)
The gardens are really lovely, the pool is great, the staff are excellent! Very welcoming and helpful.
We really enjoyed our stay here and would definitely return.
- Patrick (10/5): - Nancy at the front desk and Prince in the restaurant provide amazing 5-Star service. They both went above and beyond to make sure our stay was enjoyable. The hotel is beautiful, very eco-friendly , lots of green spaces. The room was spacious , clean and a mix of modern and rustic decor. Highly recommended.
- Samuel (10/5): - Nice place
- Aaron (10/5): Clean, comfortable, and economical - I was traveling to Kumasi solo for business purposes and I deeply enjoyed my stay at Sweet Garden Hotel. The location is good, not a far taxi ride from the Kumasi Mall and the Military museum.
The room was clean and luxurious. I was given a large room overlooking the gorgeous garden and pool. In the early afternoon/evening I could vibe to the fun sound of the afrobeat as children, families and couples played in the pool.
The restaurant and breakfast were essential, the restaurant which was open relatively late provided me an easy and tasty option just a few steps from my room after a busy day out in the city. There are a number of options to choose from so there is something for everyone and its all pretty good. I wish I got to try the pizza.
Above all the best part of the hotel is the staff. They work hard, are always attentive and incredibly kind. While I was alone for my work I didn't really feel lonely as the staff did their best to make me feel at home.
All of these aspects were made better by the very reasonable price which is almost a steal for the calmness and luxury of the hotel.
- Tony (8/5): Good hotel let down by poor food service - We stayed 2 nights in a deluxe room and I think we got upgraded to a suite, which was a lovely top floor room with an integral kitchen and balcony. Plenty of space for the two of us.
But food ordering, was difficult and inefficient.
The first night we were told the restaurant was closed for a staff presentation, but that we could order food for room service. So we ordered two courses plus wine and agreed to have it delivered at 7.30.
By 8.30, nothing had arrived, so we called down to reception and it arrived about 15 mins later.
The next day we ordered a snack by the pool, two of the chicken kebab and chips combo on their menu.
About 45 mins later 2 individual kebab skewers, that turned out to be beef, arrived. When we said that wasn't what we ordered, we were told the previous waiter must have got it wrong. So we clearly showed on the menu what we wanted and the waiter disappeared.
About an hour later, with the sun going down, and no food, I asked for the bill.
But, instead, two portions of beef kebabs and chips arrived.
If we hadn't ordered any food, I'd have said we had a very good stay, although you do need a cab to get anywhere, as it is some way out of town.
- kaycee (6/5): - Stayed here in OCT with my Husband
Property was beautiful. Love the greenery.
Breakfast (included)was cool, little repetitive but not too bad! Love that the pool stayed open passed sundown!
when i walked in room it was clean, well made but i got disappointed when i look into the bathroom. The toilet seat was horrible, off the hinge, and discolored (ew). Please update your bathrooms and towels!
Thank you.
- Andrew (10/5): - Great room. Plenty of outlets. Bathroom is awesome. Design and deco top notch. I would recommend a thousand times.
- Kwame (10/5): - Staff were professional and respectful and they must ensure to keep it up. They shd ensure that all services are provided in a clean manner and not to do shabby work for example giving clean towels and sheets as appropriate.
- Joshua (10/5): - Great place near the center of town. Very clean, great pool, and great food!
- Matthew (8/5): A good place - A good option in Kumasi. Room was of good size, but the a/c unit couldn’t really keep up and it never really cooled to a comfortable temperature. Hotel grounds are really nice, and the pool looked nice and well maintained. Unfortunately the gym was under renovation. Breakfast was good. The staff were the highlight though…really thoughtful and accommodating.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Beautiful gardens, with PROs and CONs. - My family of 5 stayed with Sweet Garden Hotel for 9 days. Let's start with what the positives:
1. The hotel gardens are beautiful! From lush trees and plants, to quaint seating in the gardens, it allows guests to sit/eat outside and enjoy the beautiful weather.
2. The staff were friendly. The dining staff, front desk staff, they were all courteous and helpful.
3. We had an issue with our rooms, so they upgraded us to a top-level apartment, with a washer/dryer, kitchen, and lots more cable channels than the other rooms get. Decor was modern and spacious.
But there were a few things I would have changed about our experience.
1. The basement room our children were initially assigned smelled strongly of mildew. Staff should have noticed that the room smelled and offered a different room without me having to ask.
2. Food was average. Hot food was often lukewarm, and frozen things (milkshakes ordered) were melted and, well, lukewarm.
3. A cockroach crawled across the sheets next to me in bed in the middle of the night! I know that roaches can be anywhere, especially in warm climates. We didn't see any other signs of pests at this hotel, though, so this could have just been an odd occurrence. I didn't report it, since we were leaving that following morning. But I didn't go back to bed!
4. General maintenance could be better: slow shower drain, leaky sink, door to patio was wonky.
Overall, we enjoyed our time at Sweet Garden and we would stay in the apartment again.
- Richard (6/5): - The outer appearance is good but the rooms and furnitures are falling apart. It isnt worth the money they charge.
- samuel (10/5): - Staff was great Abigail, Mary from restaurant, the smoothie maker, room cleaning staff even security was on point. Absolutely amazing big time improvement.
- Paul (10/5): - Great service and great food. Rooms are clean and comfortable.
Only 1 towel in the room...
- Juanita (4/5): Looks are definitely deceiving - The first night we had to switch rooms that night it was horrible. There is smell coming from the bathroom. We did not sleep well at all the next morning I was able to talk to the reception she changed our room to a brand new room which was very comfortable.. but over all I wasn’t happy. I not stay again
- Collins (10/5): - I really enjoyed my stay
- jan (10/5): Sweet Garden is a lovely place to stay - The service was excellent - staff were so friendly which made it a pleasure to stay at.
- kay (8/5): Friendly staff, beautiful smile ,warm welcome . - The staff are excellent .They exceeded my expectations .Becky and Emma 5 star .Wonderful people .
Cleaning staff great .
Hotel gym perfect .But no WI-FI at the time of my visit .That was not the best .Breakfast was the same food ,there need to be variety .
Calm vicinity .
- DD (8/5): Staff very helpful. The hotel is very clean. - Staff greeting us at the vehicle to assist with luggage. They had keys to the rooms and ready for us to check in. The restaurant was very clean and the menu is extensive. Food was good and came in a reasonable time. Hotel grounds and landscape very nice and pleasant to sit out and enjoy the view.
My room mate did not enjoy the frogs and crickets at night but I enjoyed the sounds of nature.
Owners son very friendly and talks to the guest.
