- Samuel (9/5): -
- Thakur (10/5): -
- Lou-Anne (7/5): -
- Leonie (8/5): Cheap and not particularly cheerful - Excellent location, in the heart of Phuket Old Town. Suspicious looking stains on the bed sheets. And strange howling noises throughout the early hours of the morning by neighbouring rooms.
There appears to be mice nesting in the ceiling tiles, with guano trails running along the skirting.
- Tereza (8/5): - úplně v centru old town! ubytování bylo uplne jednoduche, ale ciste, personal mily, pred odjezdem jsme si zde mohli nechat kufry
- Rakesh (9/5): - it was good
- Emre (1/5): - Hiçbir şeyini sevmedim

- Zsolt (10/5): Exceptional -
- Rajesh (8/5): Very good - on Sunday evening there would be market with food and other items.
- Dennis (10/5): Exceptional -
- Hilal (5/5): Passable - Location Humidity smell in the room. Just a fan to take it out. Old towels and just a blanket for the night
- Richard (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lmili (1/5): Lizard Infestation! There were lizards in the bedroom! - Do Not stay here unless you want to wake up with lizards crawling on your face!
Pros: Great Location
Cons: Be aware that if you stay here you will be sharing the room with lizards!!! I was ready to go to sleep and I spotted several lizards in the bedroom. I panicked, packed my things and left immediately (at 1am). There were more lizards in the hall, the reception desk, coffee table…they’re a pest. I had to find another last minute hotel to spend the night. I paid for 4 nights and only spend one night, and did not get a refund! Also the building is very old there’s crack on the walls, holes in the ceiling, smelly toilet, windows held together with tape; I didn’t mind that the place was falling apart, but the lizards were the breaking point for me.
- Liv (5/5): Passable -
- Mary (6/5): Great price for a short stay - Location is great, right on the Main Street. Staff were very friendly. It was quiet at night. We were not provided with new towels or a fresh bin during our stay. The shower floods the bathroom once it’s used which caused a dampness in the room. There were cracks in the ceiling that caused a lizard to enter our room one evening.
- Anonymous (8/5): Central, but quiet as it is in the back. - Stayed here before. Central location. Large room. Quiet. Hot water in the communal area. Need to make appointment for late arrival (after 9pm) to let you in, because the attached shop closes then, so there is no 24 hours reception. Need to enter by unlocking a padlock at night. Difficult to access the scooter parking (in narrow corridor), so better park outside in the next street.
- Zane (10/5): Perfect - Perfect location, easy to find. Ladies at the shop are sweet. Quiet and huge room all to myself with my own bathroom. No AC, just fans, so it gets hot, but I knew that before booking the place.
- Anette (10/5): Exceptional - For this money it was perfect.
- Eoin (8/5): Recommend - The rooms are on Thalang Street, the coolest Street in Phuket in terms of restaurants, cafes. Right in the center of Old Town. You have Hello India restaurant, EFE Arab Restaurant close by, A Chinese lunch place selling super yum crispy pork with rice called Ting Lee and lot's of Thai places. A small health food store selling Kombucha and other yum yums. The rooms and beds look a little old but the rooms are quiet and comfy
- Tijn (8/5): We loved the area! - Best place in town for basic tourism.
Right on the main of old town where it is very pretty and western.
(Sunday there is a night market, must go!)
15 min walk in any direction will get you into less popular area where locals have their restaurants. Highly advise you go there instead of in the centre. (-money +quality!) The water from the tap is not drinkable and has a strange smell.
This is the case in a lot of places in the centre though.
The beds are a bit hard. And the room only has the necessities.
You get what you pay for!
+It’s clean and in an supurb location!

- Uzair (10/5): Exceptional - "Staying at this affordable accommodation in the heart of Old Town Phuket was an absolute delight! Located literally in the heart of Phuket, it provided easy access to all the charming attractions and vibrant energy of the area. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, always going above and beyond to ensure a comfortable stay. The room-like apartment was spotlessly clean and thoughtfully appointed, offering a cozy retreat after a day of exploring. I couldn't recommend this gem enough for anyone looking for a budget-friendly yet quality stay in this enchanting destination."
- Emily (7/5): Good -
- Krishnan (9/5): Superb - Good host.
- Mohamed (10/5): Excellent! - The host is very kind and helpful. The hostel is very well located. I recommend!
- Mohammed (4/5): Disappointing -
- Daniele (8/5): Old Phuket perf - in the perfect old town center, you can walk in the main street market a little bit difficult to find, the entrance is a part of shop
- Salvatore (10/5): Very good and clean and friendly staff -
- Selen (6/5): Pleasant -
- Selen (6/5): Pleasant -
- Sofia (6/5): Nice stay for a budget traveler for a few nights - Good location
Nice staff
Big room A lot of mosquitoes
The bedsheets weren’t the cleanest
- Peter (8/5): Phuket old town perfect starting point. Awesome location, true value for money - we had a spacious room, and clean floor bed and linen. The shower and toilet were also clean. The place itself is run down and it shows in the corners and ceilings. But the location is superb. The staff is friendly and helpfull The place could use a touch up.
- Joshua (4/5): Very dirty rooms - The staff and location was really good! Very poor WiFi and the room was just disgusting. The walls, doors, power outlets and toilet were very dirty. Even the bed sheets had many stains on them. I've been traveling SE Asia for 10 months now staying in budget friendly hotels so I'm use to things not being perfect, but this was not nice. it's super unfortunate that I have to give such a bad review, the place is in a great location and the staff were nice. I'd give this place 8+ if they just cleaned the room and had decent WiFi.
- Harrison (7/5): Good - Location is brilliant
- Siam1964 (7/5): Good -
- Matafeni (10/5): Pleasant stay, very welcoming and accommodating staff. I would recommend booking if you are solo travelling and want eas - Accessibility to the Old town district of Phuket made it really welcoming No issues
- Bevan (5/5): Passable - budget accommodation that works. you get what you pay for.
- Penlada (5/5): Passable - Location is a good place to start The place is a little bit out dated
Need for renovation
- Leonor (5/5): Passable -
- Marianarei (7/5): Central location in Pucket s old town - Good location, own toilet The bed was a bit uncomfortable
- Ella (7/5): Amazing location, lovely staff but a very hot room ! - Amazing location, on Sunday night market street and bus station. Only 2 outlets and needed them for fans to keep cool as there was no AC. So could not charge devices
- Kshirod (9/5): Superb -
- Amrit (7/5): Good -
- Surekha (5/5): Overall dissapointed! - Location was located at nice place No toiletries, they mentioned has parking at the website but no parking (parking at public street), no hair dryer, no iron, no water kettle inside individual room.
- Christina (10/5): Exceptional -
- Evijayna (6/5): ok - good location lots of mosquitoes
worn out linens and questionable towel
- Aleksandra (7/5): good for one night after the flight - - great location in old town
- cheap price
- spacious room and bathroom - room was very outdated and had mould on the walls
- bed sheets were either stained or dirty
- Cozzi (10/5): Exceptional - Super position, big room really clean. Fantastic stay in Phuket!
- Patrick (1/5): Bad - nothing it was horrible!
- Nikolaos (2/5): Very poor - Good location right in the old town There was an ant infestation in the room, and also it was full of mosquitos.
The beds were not comfortable, dirty and outdated facilities
- Qamar (7/5): Good -
- Camel131313 (9/5): Superb - Room is big. No air conditioner
- Maike (8/5): Very good - Good location (right at the Sunday night market). Located inside the city centre/old town. Friendly staff. Free coffee. Shared fridge where you can store your stuff. Big spacious room. With only a fan in the room it gets quite warm during the day. No motorbike rental available, but you can find one easily around old town.
- Márta (9/5): Great location, great value. - The rooms were spacious and in an excellent location for the weekend market. Owner was friendly and helpful despite language barrier. There is a strange parking system outside the hostel based on odd and even days. Watch out if you rent a scooter and park it. We were fined 500 baht.
- Mmorelli (8/5): Great economic choice - Very good located in main street of Phuket town. Very big room. Very friendly staff. Free cofee It is very hot even in winter for just 1 portable fan in the room. Some walls need new paint. An advertisement said cofee avaliable and bread in the morning (if any). Never found bread in any of the 4 mornings
- Kilian (8/5): Very good - I like this style, we had a classic twin bed room with fan. Great location and good price ratio.
- Molinero (8/5): Very good -
- Leah (9/5): Superb - The location was brilliant and the room was huge! Free guidebooks to look at, free coffe and tea, a great shower and the owner was lovely The bed was a bit hard.
- Mariia (10/5): Exceptional - area is pretty quiet and clean Wi-Fi didn’t work well
- Oddbjørg (1/5): not good - nothing. our room was not able to enter even if we had booked it
- Leticia (6/5): Nice place in the center of Phuket for a good price - very nice location in the middle of the Main Street, good air conditioning (not too cold not too noisy). Bed was comfy and room was quiet at night and in the morning. we arrived at 9pm and we informed the owner about that but when we arrived no one was there we had to wait and ask someone on the street to call for us the number.
No hot water, it was very cold !
- Wen (2/5): Very poor -
- Anna (7/5): Good - Very large room. Hot shower. Relatively comfy bed. Good wifi. Amazing location right in the centre of old town. Good fan. Mosquito net on window had holes in it
- Laura (7/5): Great location and spacious, but very dated. - Great location! Had lots of space and it was very quiet. Shower was very hot too! The room was very dated and basic but ok for a night or two.
- Jiri (8/5): Very good - Location (best), price (best), very friendly staff Not the cleanest nor the newest, but its still great with the location and price I would come back no doubt
- Margarida (4/5): Disappointing -
- martap321 (2/5): Cheap but grubby - The staff, especially the elderly lady is absolutely helpful and friendly. They provide you with information trying to save money for you. We had a problem with reservation (booked for the wrong month) plus arrived very late (about 11PM). But the lady (guess the owner) helped us and gave us a room even though we ringed her out of bed.
So service and staff 100% recommendation. Unfortunately our room was in bad condition. The sink in the bathroom was moving everything was leaking. It smelled a little bit muddy. The matraces were old, you could feel every spring. The matraces as same as the linen and pillows were very dirty with stains, holes and some even with blood stains on them. We slept on our towels and left the other day even though we payed for 2 nights.
So it is good for low budget but you have to be prepared for what you get.
- NrManchesterMikkie50 (2/5): So basic. To basic - Booked here for three nights
But stayed only one.very cheap. But not for me. I like a little comfort a bed that's it nothing else.not even toilet paper. Great spot centre of old town .but if you are slumming it then yes it's fine
- petem948 (8/5): Great value - 600 BHT / £ 13.67 for a room for 3 adults including a light breakfast (tea/coffee, toast & jam). Room was a little grubby, but cannot complain at this price! Great location for Phuket old town too. Owners were very nice people.
- B3987YPsaras (6/5): Good cheap stay! - The bedroom was spacious and clean and it was nice to have a free small breakfast in the morning.
Staff quite serious but I wouldn't say impolite.
Nice stay overall in a very good position if you're not looking for the crazy nightlife of patong!
- 421jade (6/5): Ok - The room was huge and ac worked well. The was only sheet to sleep with and was not big enough for tow people. The staff did not speek very good English and the door was offten just closed in our face. The shower didn't not work well and it just dribbled out. Good location.
- LoR620 (8/5): good value - Good location, center .Staff very friendly and helpfull. Clean room. was there is june so a bit hot in the room with fan. easy to find with the taxi. nothing crazy about this hotel but good value for the price
- mkreview123 (6/5): Clean, safe, inexpensive place to sleep - D’s was very bare bones, but it was fine for an inexpensive, clean place to crash, which is what we were looking for. We looked at another hotel for the same price that smelled like mold was run down, with dirty carpet, and people were using wife in the hall because it didn’t work well in the rooms. And, we also stayed at another place for only about a few dollars more that was nicer than D’s and had a nice breakfast. So, I rate D’s as average for the price.
The location can be a plus or a minus, depending on how you want to spend your vacation. Phuket Town is about 10 miles from the west coast where all the beaches are, but traffic can be intense, and I wouldn’t want to go back and forth every day. However, it’s a great location to use as a base for escorted tours which all pick you up at your doorstep – things like boat trips into Phang Nga Bay, Phi Phi Island, elephant trekking, and the FantaSea or Siam Niramit shows. We stayed at D’s for only 500 baht per night (about 15 USD) and saved our money for doing other things.
The specific location of D’s in Phuket Town is great. Thalang is a major street, with lots of shops and restaurants. Right down the street is a great local restaurant, Kopitiam, highly rated on Trip Advisor. It’s inexpensive and has great food, and and there are lots more restaurants close by to choose from. Every Sunday night, there is a night market on Thalang. It was fun to be able to stroll around at a market right outside our hotel!
I have mixed feelings about our room, even at the price we paid. Obviously, at that price, don’t expect luxury. The room had a double bed (very hard), 2 chairs that were more like kitchen chairs (not comfortable for sitting around), a nightstand, and an armoire with a few very bent hangers. Since the room was so huge and practically empty, it would have been nice to have a little table where I could use my computer, or someplace other than the floor to put our suitcases, hats, etc. We chose a room with air conditioning, and the A/C was OK but not great. The bathroom was a little hard to deal with. Our sink stopped up the first day we were there. They seemed to think we were at fault, but we really weren’t -- it was slow from when we arrived and it only took a little water to back it up completely. The housekeeper came twice and put a Mr. Plumber type product in it, but it never really worked and it only took a minute of water to stop it up again. We ended up just using the shower for everything, for the whole 5 days. The toilet was so hard to flush that we thought it didn’t work either, and we used the spray hose to flush it, which made a very bad smell, but it worked. Kind of. (If you don’t know what I mean by spray hose, you haven’t been in Thailand very long.) After about 3 days, we found that the toilet actually did work, you just had to push the button really, really hard. The shower had minimal water pressure, but was adequate and hot.
The housekeeper will do your laundry for a small fee, but give her plenty of time, as they have no dryer and air drying takes a while.
There is a ventilation opening in the wall in the bathroom which I don’t think had a screen, and there always were a few mosquitos in the room, which made me nervous.
There is no safe in the room (wouldn’t expect it at this price), but they did have a hasp on the door to your room, so you could put on your own padlock. I happened to have a heavy padlock with me, and it made me feel perfectly safe leaving things in the room.
The owner, was friendly and spoke good English. She referred us to a local travel agent a few blocks away who speaks English and was very helpful in booking tours for us, at discounted prices (don’t ever pay brochure prices for tours!)
Although we were told that the bus terminal with the airport bus was a short walk away, it really wasn’t short, and I would not have wanted to walk there in the heat pulling our suitcases. But it’s a short taxi ride.
Bottom line, it was very clean, had a bed, and was fine for crashing, and it’s hard to complain for $15 per night. But, I found better places for just a little more money. I’d stay at D’s again, if the others were full, but it wouldn’t be my first choice.
- Sylsyll (6/5): Good but has to improve - We stayed there just one night. The location was good, near the bus station. The building was very safe, locked twice at night and in a safe area. The room was basic and clean. Unfortunately, the room was really too hot all night, and the fan was not enough. Also the plugs are not safe, I was hurt while I was charging my phone. But except for that, the owner is lovely and it is worth for the money.
- 976andr_sa (8/5): Nice - We spent just one night. Waiting for the ferry. The receptionist lady is friendly and she drove us in her car to the ferry station for just 50 Baht the next morning. Room clean and mattress comfortable.
- Z359BXwilliamb (8/5): Clean and nice - We have been here a whole week!
The room was huge and clean, far from Patong but in here there are many local people so you can save some money for food.
Wifi was slow ( maybe because our room was far from it ).
A/c worked properly.
Shower with hot water but not strong jet.
The owner can talk English and help you renting a bike or some tours.
- Abc20014 (8/5): Worth the money - I stayed here for a night. I found the place clean and the staff was friendly. Luckily, all the places I stayed at in Thailand were clean and fully worth the money. Small breakfast - bread and tea is available in the morning plus it had free wi-fi
- dionneb347 (8/5): Cheap, clean, perfect location - This hostel/guesthouse is really nice and clean for the price you pay. Big room, clean bathroom, nice staff. It is located in the old town of phuket which is really nice. They also have laundry service. And in the morning you can have free toast with jam and a cup of tea. If you want to eat a lot in the morning it might not be enough. But for us it was perfectly fine. I can really recommend this guesthouse. We visited the james bond island and the monkey hill during our stay.
- 917martynj (10/5): great location - This is one of the cheapest places across thailand for a double private. Great location . Staff are helpful and friendly. Bread , tea and biscuits available in the morning free off charge. If you cant hack the heat there are ac rooms available too.
- jaffa_traveller_2014 (6/5): Good but hard to find - I booked this place for a week but spent my first night elsewhere, as the taxi driver couldn't find the place and left me walking around at night looking for alternative accommodation!
The place was basic, but had everything I needed - good walking distance to places, nice owner, free coffee in morning, big rooms.
Would go back if stopping off in Phuket Town for a few days.
FYI - take the phone number down, so as the taxi driver can call her to find location of the place.
- LongOng (10/5): Basic needs met - We had a room with a double bed and 2 single beds and an attached bathroom. It was on the 2nd floor. no lift. Very basic stuff. 1 toilet roll and 2 bars of soap.
Aircon is very cold and there is fan too. Room No. 23 I think...
We wanted a place to wash up and pack last min stuff as our flight is at night.
Security is oki and the door has 2 metal locks besides the door knob lock. There is a slider lock outside which you can bring your own lock, if you want the added security. I wasn't aware of it and since all my luggages are locked, I leave it be.
For the price, I can't complain much.
Place is kept very clean.
- IvoPireX (2/5): Horrible!! - Booked for a decent room with a decent private bathroom and got a dirty room with dirty sheets, noisy, not clean at all and desgusting shared bathroom.
I tried to argue with the Ms. from the reception but she pretended not to understand me.
Avoid this horrible place!
For your information: I've already slept in very bad places (camping, etc) but this surpasses all of them. Bah
- Libseth (6/5): Average accommodation - We stayed here for 4 nights, in a very big room with fan, shared bathroom and cold water. During our 4 month in S.E.A. this is a average room to the price. I think some people are putting their expectations too high, I mean think about how cheap it is, you're not really allowed to expect more than a bed to sleep in and a toilet. The manager of the place was very nice to us, and she smiled and said Hi everytime we saw her. We didn't get breakfast there, since we hate the white bread, so we didn't experience her watching us. All in all a pleasant stay for a very reasonable price
- MalikAdventures (2/5): Not very hospitable - So we show up and no one is there for check in so we check in ourselves. Throughout our four day stay here we saw many people waiting in the lobby so that they could check in. It wasnt even late. The lady running this place would be back at about ten pm but for large portions of the day she would be unavailable. You get no information on Phuket, no leaflets, no map and you are left to your own devices.
Breakfast consists of two pieces of toast and either tea or coffee but she will watch you like a hawk to see if you take an extra piece of toast or an extra drink, both of which are ten baht. Its not very nice.
The rooms are big but we struggled with bed bugs on our first night but there was hot water. We moved rooms and the other room we had a better sleep in but the water was hot, atleast no bugs right. The showet attachment was also broken and the light was out. Ok, its 400 baht a night but that is $13. You should get better. We stayed so long because if you stay in a rudy crummy place then you are more likely to venturw outside.
Oh and the fan isnt great but place it so it ia right in your direction and you will be fine.
We also asked for a taxi to the bus station (3km away) and she wanted 200 baht!! This is Thailand, that equates to a 20 km plus journey in bangkok using a metered taxi, the nerve!! When i said no, she mutteted rude thai words under her breath.
So to sum up, you get bedbugs if you want hot water but no bugs if you dont, breakfast seems like your on show, the lady is absent, the lights dont work, the lady is rude. Tbh, if it wasnt for the bed bugs and the rudeness, I would give a three but no need to abandon your guests, be rude to them and just not set a very hospitable atmosphere. Look elsewhere, I just dont understand why she feels the need to be rude.
- mariken2007 (6/5): Decent budget accomodation - We stayed here for 10 nights, it was a large clean room with fan and en suite, rooms were cleaned every 3 days. The showers work but you have to hold it because wall attachment is broke, we did change rooms because shower kept falling on my head but other room was worse. The "KEEP YOUR HANDS OFF" Notices were a bit off putting, we thought them very rude, also breakfast time wasnt very pleasant because you felt as if you were being watched as to how much you took. I asked for some butter as there was only 1 pat of butter in a dish, Yindee told me that it was enough as you were only allowed half a pat to do 2 slices of toast, the next morning the butter pats were cut in half. There is another notice telling you that you are allowed 1 cup of tea or coffee and 2 slices of toast, you must pay for any extras. Also be prepared to be woken late evening or early morning when guests arrive as staff just flood the place with lights that shine into rooms. The housekeeper is not very friendly at all and will scowl at you rather than smile although we did see another helper sometimes and she was very friendly and always greeted you with a smile. For a budget hotel the room was great and area was good for getting around, we hired a motorbike from close by, you can hire one from the hotel for 200 baht a day but we got one for 150 baht from round the corner.
- Sanfey85 (8/5): Very good value for money - Despite all of the 'telling you what not to do' signs (hands off, don't put bags on table, pay me for mor breakfast) this is a very very comfortable hostel. The price is including breakfast, but that's only two pieces of toast and a cup of coffee or tea, so we went outside for that. The rooms are huge, the beds are comfortable, the showers are hot and it's nice and quiet.
Don't expect too much of the non English speaking staff, they try their best but probably don't understand you. When we asked if she could write down something in Thai, she told us to get a taxi :)
Turn right after you exit the hostel and another right when you reach the main street. The first restaurant on the right is run by a Thai, used to be Oz chef. The food is cheap and amazing.
