• Moore (7/5): We could have really enjoyed it with a little more effort on their part, room was clean. - Closeness to the beach, linens were clean could have used hand towels in addition to bath towels. The common area was dirty, many empty beer bottles and cans , no screens on windows, never been to place in Mexico where you had to buy your drinking water.

• Jaspal (3/5): - Beachfront location is unbeatable, just walk downstairs into the sand. There's a small cafe downstairs that's very convenient as well. Super quiet and chill at night, no loud bars nearby. I stayed here a few times before and unfortunately this might be my last. A few days before arriving the hotel said my paid in full non refundable booking was no longer available. Instead they gave a different room which was run down and had none of the features of the room I rented - no oceanfront view, no terrace or outdoor furniture. Also no apology, no explanation, no making it right aside from an insulting offer of a $5 discount. I had to spend a good deal of time going back & forth with the owner instead of enjoying my time at zipolite. I get that it's a simple beach hotel but it doesn't have to be shady - seems like a bait & switch. If you can't trust a hotel to honour a paid reservation then why bother booking there at all.

The owner is extremely rude and unhelpful, showing no intention of resolving any issue. There’s no staff to welcome or assist guests, and the room was far from hygienic. Be aware that the owner tries to arrange private deals outside of Booking.com, leaving you with no way to file a claim if something goes wrong. If you want to spend your trip stressed and treated poorly, this is the place for you. Otherwise, save yourself the nightmare — the owner hides behind the no-refund cancellation policy to justify terrible service. Wifi offered by the hotel does not work at all. • Aldo (6/5): Bad owner - Nice place, great location, very close of many cool places The host didn't respect my reservation the first night. She booked another person's in my room. When I called her, she was very rude and not open to dialogue. The next day, I met other guests and had the same problem as me. Nice place if you don't care about the view that the website promotes
• Mariana (1/5): Scam!!! - Nothing, it’s a scam, the owner doesn’t show or describe the room as it is. WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!The owner was rude, they didn’t even expect us. They gave us a room we didn’t book and it was horrible. In booking the descriptions are clear: terrace and balcony with sea view, the reality is a small hidden dark and dirty room with no terrace or balcony. When we talked to the owner she hanged up while I was explaining that the room we booked wasn’t the one she gave us. I asked for a cancellation with waived fees since I wasn’t going to stay and she refused lying about the way we treated her when she was only told the truth and asked for help. We lost the money, it was a complete scam. We were not the only ones who had the same problem with the reservation and her. Don’t book here.
• Marie (5/5): The proximity to the beach and sea and the barefoot lifestyle were marvelous. - I loved the fact that it was right on the beach. I loved the panoramic spectacular view from my private deck from the top floor bungalow. During my first two weeks, more often than not, there was no water coming out of my shower and only a trickle from the tiniest of sinks. And when it,s 30C you sweat a lot ! It was frustrating. Right next to my bungalow there was a large popular parking area the locals and visitors used. The short road to it faced my wall of windows, and at night, that meant that every time a car drove down, my bedroom was lit like a disco floor. It would be very nice if curtains were installed so that one could have a decent sleep...

• Stephanie (10/5): Exceptional - Location was amazing! Cute little bungalow type accommodation right on the beach. A nice hammock and deck area to relax on out the front of room. Cafe downstairs had good food and facilities to relax on in the day time. Great stay!

• Hans (5/5): Passable - We were downgraded due to double booking. We still accepted the smaller and less comfortable room but never got a refund of the price difference. I have asked the manager 4 times but she has never done it. Also, the ventilator is very needed there. Ours was broken and we asked if there is another one, because it was not easy sleeping. The other one was broken as well.

• Karsten (1/5): Incapable management - It is managed from oaxaca and there is nobody at the location when you arrive there. You need to call a number and eventually somebody will arrive. In my case, I booked a room and paid it which was confirmed, 12h later I was informed that it is not available anymore and I should cancel to cheat booking. The next day, the room was available again and as I arrived at the hotel, I was told the room is not available because the cleaning lady is sick and nobody is available to clean. I was essentially left alone and could only speak with the owner via phone which seems to be incapable of managing just 4 rooms.
• Jaspal (9/5): Superb - Amazing location right on the beach. Loved that I coulnd't really hear any noise from any bars on the beach, and just enjoyed the sound of crashing waves lulling me to sleep. Step out onto the sand and downstairs cafe for breakfast!

• Jose (8/5): Nice unit on the beach - Location: right on the beach. Nice and clean unit with a view to the ocean & a balcony. Shower head very poor pressure, no warm water. The two days I stayed there I got contacted asking me for the keys soppousely because I had left the unit - I was confused. But I guess because they didn’t see me all day they assumed I left with the key 🤷🏾‍♂️.

• Ben (7/5): Ask for the 3rd floor with balcony views - For the 1st 2 days we had a third floor room with the balcony overlooking spectacular Zipolite beach & sunset!! The location on the beach is excellent. The people running Cafe Maya were lovely and helpful and the Cafe was good. The mosquito nets were charming and proved to be necessary. We didn't like, and were surprised to find out, that after our first 2 nights we had to move to a second floor room with NO balcony and NO view. The ads on Booking.com show the balcony view and we expected as much. The 2nd floor room was a bigger and more modern room however. As much as we liked the upper floor and balcony, the narrow, funky stairs didn't make a great 1st impression. Another problem was that for a day and a half the place ran out of water and we had no showers.

Llegar es muy complicado, las referencias estan mal mandan a pochutla, la clinica del imss que mencionan esta a media hora de camino, en la misma playa hay muchas mas opciones que por el mismo precio ofrecen mejores servicios. Este es un hostal disfrazado de hotel. No hubo quien nos recibiera , esperamos 2 horas en la playa, la dueña no contestaba el celular, dice que no tenia saldo, terminamos picados x los mosquitos despues de esperar con maletas en sus hamacas hasta el anochecer para que nos dijera q mandaria a su marido a abrir la cabaña que francamente lucia descuidada. No puede ser que tenga el mismo propietario tantas fallas en la seriedad, compromiso y trato con sus huéspedes.

Las toallas tenían un olor extraño, la cortina del baño muy sucia, dejaron un caracol con olor extraño. En general diría regular , pero si hay que mejorar mucho la limpieza.
• Sofia (4/5): Reseña estadía Casa Acalli - El cuarto es agradable para una pareja y está a pie de playa. Cuenta con un closet, una mesita con dos sillas y un ventilador que es suficiente para poder pasar la noche sin calor. El baño no tenía puerta. Lo que no nos gusto es la limpieza, de los cuarto días que pasamos en el hotel NI UN DÍA pasaron a hacer la limpieza. Adicional, la regadera tenía una fuga considerable, es decir, no eran unas gotas, era un chorro abundante, al grado que la caída del agua no dejaba dormir por las noches. Reportamos este incidente en más de dos ocasiones y nuestra solicitud no fue atendida nunca. En cuanto a los alimentes, el primer día pedimos una orden de ceviche de pescado y un vaso con agua natural, en el ceviche encontramos TRES CABELLOS y en el agua unos bichitos pequeñitos. Obviamente no volvimos a comer ahí. Honestamente no es un lugar que recomendaría.

I watched whales breach and wave their tails about 700 yards directly infront several mornings. An amazing beachfront property on an immaculate beach.

• Viridiana (6/5): No es lo que parece - Pues en genera parece un hotel improvisado de una casa, el baño no tiene puerta lo que hace difícil la privacidad en el, la cama con el pabellón ya muy gastado y viejo, además de que no se puede hacer pago con tarjeta a pesar de que dice que si, el Pueblo está descuidado y sucio, realmente no hay estacionamiento está totalmente en la playa
• Al (10/5): - I loved everything about my stay at this property! Sadly, it was a strategic stop during my travels and did not stay longer. Kate is an amazing hostess!!! I fell in love with the view that I had from my room which, makes it perfect because property is right on the beach within a few steps from the ocean. Best hidden place if you're planning a nice getaway away from it all. I will definitely recommend this property and definitely plan a trip to this location since there is a lot to do in the area.
