I strongly advise against eating at the Indian restaurant located inside the hotel. I ordered fish, got food poisoning, and was sick for two days with fever and diarrhea.

- arzinac2025 (8/5): One night stay at Anjary - Very good. We stayed 1 night before our flight back to Mauritius. The personal is very good and kind. I had an issue with my charger, they kindly went out and bought one for me (i paid and tipped). They offer great services like spas and massages. You can also eat there, they have a restaurant and a canteen/food shop open at all times. They can even keep your luggage on stand by if you check out. In front of it you also have a great restaurant called Arlequin, a must try and halal ! 😊

Rooms are very small, not that comfortable. The bathroom is also not that good, too crampy. Overall experience of comfort was not there. At this price range, there are hotels which provide more comfortable rooms.

- Guyto123 (2/5): Bad experience at Anjary Hotel - I left Shalimar Hotel for Anjary Hotel because I had hot water issues at Shalimar. The hot water issues were worst at Anjary. Basically you will have hot water from around 9h30 am to 5 pm because it works on solar. From 6h30 pm you will not get any hot water until about 9h30 am the next day. Unfortunately, the personnel lied to me and told me there was hot water all the time...If the personnel had told me the truth, I would have taken a shower around 4 to 5 pm...I can see on booking.com the water issue has been there in 2022, 2023....so don't expect it to be fixed....

- bruno (8/5): - C'est un très bon rapport qualité/prix. L'hôtel est bien situé et le personnel est vraiment agréable et disponible ! Le salon de massage et soin est également de qualité ! Mais la restauration est moyenne, voire décevante ! J'y ai mangé la plus mauvaise pizza de ma vie (oui, une pizza à Tana, c'était une erreur au départ !), le reste très moyen. Seule la viande de zébu était d'une grande qualité !

- Ambassador812037 (2/5): Dishonest Management - Fairly large hotel, in the least pleasant area of downtown Tana. Mostly friendly reception staff with good english, but be advised that most rooms don't have working wifi, despite the hotel's claim to the contrary. Also significant hotel refurbishment going on internally and externally, so be prepared for drilling or hammering on the adjacent walls to your bed from 7am. Also, the management is reluctant to maintain the batteries for the room safes... So either insist on new batteries, or be prepared for being locked out from your valuables, until the manager is at work, as he's the only 1 with access! This hotel specialises in large group bookings, sports teams from Africa, and traders from India, so when the corridors aren't filled with shreeking youngsters launching attacks on their friends rooms, or Asian gentlemen furtively smoking in the corridors defying the non enforced smoking regulations. Be warned that if you come to an arrangement financially for a long stay with the manager, he may well renege on the deal when it comes to payment, and in my case avoided seeing me despite several requests, but instructed staff to increase my tariff when I was checking out... Disgraceful!
