- Lawrence (8/5): Good food. Pleasant Staff generally good experience. But slightly overpriced. - Meals at the restaurant were superb. Good breakfast. Good value for the prepaid dinner. Hotel is a little overpriced for the level of facilities. There are fancier, hotels that charge this amount or slightly less.
Photos give the impression it is a large and lavish hotel. In fact, it is a small and rather tired hotel.
- Charles (10/5): Best ever stay - Clean. Comfortable. Nice food. 🍱 friendly respectful staff.

- Dawn (10/5): Outstanding Staff - The room was spacious the staff I have no words for the staff actually amazing outstanding Justice in my opinion whenever I need help with something they were there to assist me and even spent many minutes helping me And they didn't even seem to mind some of the request I to have

- Richard (10/5): - Very nice hotel for the price, includes breakfast and dinner, food price is extremely low compared to the west so a nice suprise with great quality. I found it odd that the table surfaces were not as clean as they should have been given the amount of labor standing around. Very nice experience regardless.
- Shunsuke (10/5): Sabaidee! - ・Every dish was so delicious!
・beautiful night seeing!
- Aung (9/5): Superb -
- djpowers (10/5): Perfect for Thai Embassy - Perfect for Thai embassy-its 2 minutes walk. Area is heavily Korean influenced but hotel was excellent. Service was impeccable. Breakfast AND dinner included. I probably wouldn’t choose this location for a holiday but if it’s the embassy you need, you can’t go wrong. Very spacious rooms and an excellent shower.
- Thomas (10/5): - As soon as I arrived I was greeted with courtesy, smiles and a willingness to assist me by the staff.
The property has been the best since i started my travels which has been 24 flights covering 10 countries in 1 year. It was extremely clean, spacious, had a bath and 2 showers and well within my budget of about £30 a night.
- David (8/5): - Good budget option in central Vientiane.
- Daniel (8/5): OK, but not great - The shower was immense. Electricity continuously goes off. Food was disappointing, but that's typical of Lao.
- jaywM8995DZ (10/5): Good Experience - There was a good continental breakfast with a range of variety.
The staff was very helpful. The housekeeping was always available if you needed help and the front desk was knowledgeable about the area and guided me how to get to places.
Overall clean and spacious rooms too.
- Chatriya (7/5): Good - Close to Thai embassy around has restaurant Korean minimart and Bank 1 staff is not friendly she give you only 1 keycards for the elevator and door entrance and we came here as couples I don’t understand why
- Loic (8/5): Very good - Very comfortable bed. Unfortunately, a bunch of other clients were very noisy after midnight, slamming doors and talking loudly in the hallway. It took 2 calls (the last one around 1:30am) to the reception for these clients to stop being noisy.
- Katherine (7/5): Good - The hotel was very comfortable and served me well for a short work trip!
- Михаил (9/5): Superb -
- Chandra (6/5): Pleasant -
- Lynn (10/5): Exceptional -
- Fourt (10/5): Exceptional -
- Thusha (10/5): Exceptional - It was a complete package. The staffs, the breakfast, the place. Everything was really good. I would say they could have some more options for dinner.
- Beth (5/5): Passable - The restaurant staff was very friendly. Also, house keeping and front desk staff were very attentive to race a charging cable to us just as our taxi was about to pull away. very much appreciated. We had two rooms and there were roaches in both bathrooms. Location was not what we expected.
- Leonid (9/5): Superb - Very close to thai embassy, friendly staff, room was clean and spacious, A little bit dated kitchen furniture
- David (9/5): Superb -
- Li (9/5): Superb - The breakfast is very rich, the room is very clean, the window view is beautiful, and the hotel service staff are very friendly. The wind from the air conditioner smells like cigarettes and smells bad.
- Randall (10/5): Exceptional -
- Laurent (8/5): Great value for money - I forgot my toiletries in the bathroom and the housekeeper brought it to the reception so I got it back about two hours after I had checked out. Besides, the breakfast buffet has greatly improved since my last stay.
Awesome staff! Could anyone explain to me why, when plenty of other rooms are available, the room right next to the one we've booked is assigned rather than the second next available?
- Xiaotian (7/5): Good -
- PhilipColvin1 (10/5): An amazing and impressive quality of service received - highly recommended - Grand Hotel, Vientiane, Laos - After making a mistake with my hotel booking (booked one near the river but in Thailand, without a visa) and only discovering this upon arriving at Vientiane airport I decided to take a taxi to see the location of the Thai Embassy. I walked around the area near the Embassy for 5 minutes and came across a hotel that looked suitable for my stay. The Grand Hotel, Vientiane. The staff at the reception counter arranged a suitable room for me.
It now seems that I walked into something amazing! I am not one to stay in a hotel unless I had to do so. I am a seasoned traveler who travels alone but occasionally with friends. Within this stay this hotel was hitting my requirements all of the time to being my ideal hotel! It is well designed with an Asian and Western decorative style. It has good sizeable rooms. The dining area is great and so is the hotel reception area to relax and feel comfortable. The small coffee shop in the reception area is an excellent facility to have with a good selection of food on offer for a reasonable price and good service.
The staff at the hotel are to a high professional standard and always have a smile and a concern to your stay being an enjoyable one. Nearby to the hotel there are a variety of good restaurants and shops. The hotel is in a business and residential area that also caters well for the tourist. I would highly recommend this hotel whilst on business or holiday trip to Vientiane.
I wish to thank the Mangement and staff for an excellent quality of service and making my one a pleasant and enjoyable. Well done!
Philip Colvin - Stayed 27/10/22 - 30/10/22 and 01/11/22 - 04/11/22
- Teresa (10/5): Exceptional -
- SATSADY (10/5): - the hotel nice and clean easy to walk arount the hotel corner restaurant ouiside a lot of international food japanese susi and vietnamese
- Bobby (2/5): - Woke up with cockroaches crawling on me in the bed
- Raphael (8/5): Very good -
- Rogueone1974 (10/5): Very nice hotel - Hotel modern and welcoming.
Staff Always smile and very professional.
Rooms are confortable, very well equiped and decorated.
Wide choice for a continental Breakfast
No negative critic for this Hotel.
We strongly recommand it.
- skyviewhotelbangkok (4/5): Supern staff, poor experience - I concur with a previous review with regards to the sadly poor wifi strength in the room. Kept on going OFf and ON and 1 or 2 bars only when ON all the times.
Informed reception once (technician went home, we will check tomorrow) but nothing was done. Mentioned the issue a second time later, still nothing... Had to go in the lobby to get a good connection, bitten by mosquitoes all around.
In addition to that, no hot water in the shower, just barely warm.
Mentioned that too but despite "checking", not repaired.
At that point you would expect them to offer to move to a room with better wifi connection and hot water but it did not crossed their mind despite the hotel being clearly not full.
I was booked for three night but checkout after the second one. (My Thai visa came back earlier than expected). I asked them to access another room for a hot shower before checking out which they allow.
Breakfast is mainly for Asian/Korean guests. Sad morning experience with no one thinking of offering an omellette or fried eggs the lone non asian in-house guest they had.
Staff was however super friendly and kind especially all the Filipinas at the reception.
- tomovet (10/5): - We are staying at hotel to
apply visa to the Thai Embassy in vientian.
It is just across the road.
The staffs are all great, very kind.
The room is not new but well maintained.
Best hotel for the purpose of visiting Thai Enbassy.
- Tonberry_BKK (10/5): Great price, New Hotel near Thai embassy - Hotel is clean, new, good facilities. Staffs are very polite and kindness. Got an upgrade to Suite room upon check-in, such a huge room and spacious room. The building is very near to Thai Embassy and my workplace, very convenience with walking distance, surrounding with restaurants and cafe. Breakfast is OK. No hesitate to stay here again next time.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Excellent staff with excellent service. - Friendly and very accommodating staff. The breakfast was ok, pretty room but not so clean because the bathroom had smell and the tiles closed to the sink had toothpaste stains. Pretty good hot shower and great WiFi. If I’m going back to Vientiane, definitely I’ll book in this hotel because I feel safe and love the staff.
- stephen213721 (10/5): $ Night Stay - Stayed here to complete a visa run trip to Thai Embassy. Great location literally a 2 minute walk to embassy. Really really nice hotel, modern rooms, great breakfast, room service menu is really good and cheap. Great bar next door which is same owner and you get a free draught beer. The staff were very helpful and friendly even let me stay in the room until 4pm on check out day as they were not full and my flight was at 6 which was a really nice touch. Would highly recommend it and will definitely be back!
- Watson (10/5): - Nice and clean place. Staff very helpful and friendly at the reception, cafe and concierge. Special mention to Charisse and Burh for excellent service. Not quite sure I have their names spelt correctly.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Very old hotel, but a little away from the city and transport in and out via taxi or tuk tuk is haphazard and expensive.
- brunoga (10/5): - Prefeito!
Hotel limpo, novo e com funcionários muito educados e atenciosos.
Conseguimos fazer o check-in as 10h da manhã (antes do horário padrão).
Café da manhã maravilhoso, muitas opções e tudo fresco.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Everything excellent.
Only problem: Internet connection.
It cuts you off and you need to religion and/or reset your pc to get in again...
- AS1310 (10/5): Great Staff - I was there for 4 days and I had a very very good experience. Everybody was smiling and very service minded. Room maids were very kinds and attentive to any details.
Praise to Miss Charisse who provided the best service I had in years.
On the last day I switched to a Junior Suite room which was gorgeous.
Great minibar at very honest prices.
Definitely recommended if you are visiting Vientiane.
- keomer2019 (6/5): Hotel with the potential to be more than it is! - The hotel has a massive mosquito problem. On the first night I killed seven in my room. I did not have any windows open or my door open. The next day I killed several more. The hotel rooms have a very poor internet quality. For example, the internet strength was only 1-2 bars at any given time. This is even after I called the hotel staff to see if they could fix the problem. If I wanted to check emails or anything I had to go down stairs to the lobby and use their computers. There is no pool or gym. There is also a weird smell every time I walk in the room and even in the hallways. The breakfast is not very good. It lacks a Western cuisine options just offering eggs, toast, and some fruit. The rest of the food is used over food from the previous day and Asian dinner food. Hence, no breakfast options. Also, if you work with the hotel on setting up a tour please make sure that they are very clear with the price of the ENTIRE bill and not just portions of it. Overall the hotel is modern and the staff for the most part are courteous and polite. That is the hotel's only saving grace. If you can find another hotel for a few days in the city I highly encourage you to find somewhere else. I have traveled throughout the Southeast Asia region and this hotel is at the bottom of my list.

- solar108 (10/5): By far the best hotel in Vientiane!!! - This was our second time staying at this hotel, and we are sure to come back! This is a perfect choice for anyone who needs to go to the Thai Embassy as it's literally a 2min walk away. The staff are very kind and helpful, breakfast is great, and the interior design is breathtaking (looks even better in person then on the pictures!). We were upgraded to the deluxe suite, which is a corner room featuring big windows overlooking the city. It included a living room, kitchen, and massive bedroom. The suite was so nice we barely left the hotel! ;p
- PeacefulasianD (8/5): Suprisingly Good! - Me and my Thai wife have done quite a few short visits to Vientiane to renew my Thai visa. Have stayed at a bunch of different places from 5 stars and other. I have to say I was so surprised at the level of service, niceness of staff, English level of staff, cleanliness etc etc. It was great! 2 min walk to the thai consulate. 10 seconds walk to the beat Indian restaurant I've ever tried. So why 4 and not 5 stars?
The restaurant in the hotel serves good and fairly priced food, but I don't know if it is English level or communication problems between staff and the chef but didn't get what we ordered, got the appetizer 20min after the main etc etc.
That is however the normal experience in Laos when you order western food so it's not a big deal, but still.
I highly reccomend it anyway because it was really good haha
- Verified traveler (4/5): Disappointed - Very disappointed, we were give a room next to lift and constant banging everytime the lift was used. Complained and was move to the next floor at the opposite end of the corridor, only to find very close to another lift, with the same noise problem. Also noise from what I can only guess as water tanks filling on & off. Walls very thin could hear TV from room next door.
- Dmitrii (10/5): Visa run - Close to Thai consulate. Perfect breakfast for vegetarians.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Wonderful! Highly recommend! - Everything from our first step onto the property until getting in the car to leave the hotel was top notch. They really take good care of you and are very hospitable. They also speak very good english. The facilities were very nice, the place feels brand new. It has all amenities you would need. The bed is comfortable, air works good and has good hot water and water pressure. The breakfast each morning was delicious and had a wide assortment of food to eat. There is something for everyone. Additionally, the hotel is only about a 3min walk to the Thai consulate. I will definitely stay here again on my next trip.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Nothing interesting, breakfast is not up to expectation.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Excellent hotel for the price. Staff were professional and helpful in recommending things to do in Vientiane. Excellent location if you have to go to the Thai consulate.
- Mary (10/5): - I loved staying here. It is about a 5 minute walk from the Thai embassy so it's great for those seeking a visa. It's very comfortable here, the beds are up to western comfort standards. There is a TV with English channels, like the History channel. The staff was very helpful as well. Also, there is a bar next door that served delicious food. The location was really great and I felt at home here.
- CNXCM (10/5): Exceptional Value and Service Next to Thai Consulate and Good International Restaurants - AirCon lobby, tastefully furnished, Vincent at Front Desk speaks excellent English, they allowed, they were eager even, to give me an early check-in at no fee when I asked.
The room is spacious and nicely appointed. Very fresh scent upon entry. Modern, wood accents, lots of lighting. Bathroom has All toiletries and not that crappy white bar of soap everyone else gives, but nice smelling liquid soaps, magnifying mirror, large bathroom with bathtub and shower head, as well as a shower. Hair dryer in room. Comfortable bed. 4 pillows on bed: 2 soft, 2 firm. This is a new hotel, less than a year old as of Sept 2018, and it is actually maintained to feel like a new hotel.
Many courteous and professional staff. Spacious interior. This place is a nice treat. 600-800Baht may get you a decent room in Thailand (outside of Bangkok, Pattaya, and the Islands) but it doesn't buy you much in Vientiane. More than happy to pay extra to have this quality of a place. This is a 2,000B/night hotel room in Bangkok/Pattaya/Islands. and I think that is the normal rate here. I got it on Agoda for a nice discount and I am very pleased.
- sea-mike (6/5): Overpriced. - The good: clean and modern hotel. Nice room and comfortable bed. Some of front desk staff spoke conversation English and some did not.
The not so good : expensive for what you got. Away from city center so many tuk tuk rides. No pool or exercise room . Breakfast included was really not very good.
Overall : nice room . A bit overpriced for vieteine. Location was away from everything. No pool or exercise room.
Next time will book closer to city center.
- AtipJeeratun (8/5): Comfortable and very clean - The room is clean, comfortable with very good size room. The hotel provide good services. However, we hope hotel will expand the area for pool. Location not far from city center. Breakfast is fine and available for vegetarian.
- Verified traveler (10/5): My review - It was our first time staying at the hotel and everything was wonderful and the breakfast was good.
- mwbell2000 (10/5): A Rare Occurence - It is very rare that I write a review where I don't find some little niggle but this hotel could not be improved upon. From check-in to check-out the staff went the extra mile to ensure our stay was a happy one.
We met the owner and his charming and intelligent sons whose English was impeccable. The food was excellent ranging from a buffet (cooked) breakfast to haute-cuisine later.
Security was paramount and a special key-card allowed you access to your floor only. The rooms were stunningly beautiful; well-lit; tastefully decorated; with a high degree of amenity which extended to a telescopic enlarging mirror. The free goodies included tooth-paste/brush and a shaving kit.
On either side of the (kingsize bed) there were two swivelling pencil lights for reading; under each was a charging point for a mobile phone.
The high-ceilinged foyer was home to a coffee and cake stall. The reception staff were friendly and helpful providing tips on places to visit; phoning cabs to ensure we made the most of our trip.
I heartily recommend this place to anybody.
- JLuzza (8/5): Out of the Way but Good - This is a good hotel if you need to visit the Thai Embassy (5 minute walk). It is a little bit out of the way but there are always Tuk Tuks nearby to take you wherever you want to go. Breakfast is reasonable and there are shops and restaurants nearby.
- roznat (4/5): A lot of work to do - To be very honest they have a lot of work to do here in many ways. Most of the hotel staff are Filipino so whilst they speak good English they know nothing about the local area. All the information they gave us was wrong, they could not negotiate with taxis on our behalf and were sadly just very unfriendly. When we arrived the lady at the front desk made us feel unwelcome as she was so rude. There was no drinking water left in the rooms and when we asked we were told housekeeping shuts at 5pm and were told to go to the Minimart next to the hotel!!
We had no hot water in our room as the geyser kept tripping due to an electrical fault, rooms facing the road are noisy as the glass is paper thin and we skipped the included breakfast as it look cold, greasy and just unappetising. Compared to other boutique hotels for similar prices this place really is not up to standard.
The rooms were clean and neatly furnished but that’s expected for a hotel only 2 months old.
Would recommend looking around for better value and a place closer to the center of town as this is quite far out.
