Guest Reviews
- Verified traveler (8/5): Cute Country Comfort - Lovely place with beautiful authentic styling. Staff were super friendly and welcoming. Super breakfast in a gorgeous breakfast room that also does afternoon tea.
Lots of hot water, great selection of tea / coffee - with biscuits. Bed comfy enough. Road noise may bother some.
Close to Chester and Cheshire Oaks outlet - but you would need a car or taxi.
- Jenna (6/5): Couple of issues but good location, staff & food - Lovely building in a perfect location for easy access to the city centre.
Overall I had a very nice stay, the welcome and overall service was excellent. as was the breakfast. Definitely more of a B&B than a hotel, which I wasn't aware of when I booked but I liked. Felt like staying at someone's lovely home.
Unfortunately the room just wasn't clean, and with things being as they are at the moment that really concerned me. I did express some concerns at the time and do think that they were hopefully just a one off and I was unlucky.
Room was larger than I expected and bed very comfortable. Toilet was separate to the room though which I don't feel was clear in the description.
- Lee (10/5): Brilliant - this was a lovely stay, home from home
- Andrew (10/5): Great place to stay - Solo traveller why have i never stayed here before outstanding
- Verified traveler (10/5): Warm, friendly & hassle-free stay - Business trip, if only I had had time for the full cooked breakfast, or to make use of the multi jet shower or soak in the roll top bath in the huge bathroom. Would definitely stay in the superior room again. Large screen tv, room tea & coffee not rationed, spacious wardrobe and warm. Welcoming owner, happy to accommodate an early departure.
- Tom (8/5): Good night stay - A great place to stay, very helpful and pleasant staff and the breakfast is unbelievable.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Old building so rooms quirky. Close to Chester city, peaceful spot, good parking pleasant room for breakfast
- Andrea (10/5): Business trip - quirky hotel very good - Quirky hotel - fab service. There is a lovely little honesty bar on the landing, very comfortable bed - old property but furnished well
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The property is old and the furnishings in the room reflect the period. However the bed creaked on every turn.
Personally I would have liked the option of less bedding as we were unable to sleep due to the heaviness and warmth of the quilt.
Did the daddy long legs spider come as an extra.:-)
- Craig (10/5): Little Gem - Great little friendly hotel / B&B with very accommodating and lovely staff
Honesty bar was a great touch
Lovely spacious comfortable room
- Jerome (10/5): Sunday night stay - This hotel was so good.
We loved the location (5minutes drive to Chester) , the room was large, comfortable and very elegant, the staff and owners were so friendly and we loved the breakfast.
Overall such a fantastic stay for a great prize.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Beautiful historic hall tastefully decorated. Lovely hosts and excellent breakfast
- KEVIN (10/5): Lovely place to stay - Breakfast was very nice
- William (8/5): No Restaurant in evening - Dissapointing, as we were led to expect a restaurant on site, breakfast was good tho.
- Kip (10/5): Lovely and peaceful and excellent breakfast - Found this place as a 'last resort' due to our travelling co-inciding with a village festival. Arrived just after 7pm but well welcomed. All facilities ie bed and toilet and shower excellent. Breakfast next morning kept us going until later the next afternoon.
Pretty faultless really.
