Guest Reviews
- Celine (10/5): It was relaxing, peaceful and above expectations - It had this fabulous window overlooking the Irish Sea. I could just sit there all day. It was close to everywhere we wanted to go. It was quiet, clean comfortable and very dog friendly. The owner was welcoming, helpful and available if needed. Nothing. All good
- Barry (10/5): -
- john (10/5): Loved it! - Loved the location .Perfect for exploring the Antrim coast .
- Ruth (8/5): - Great location A little chilly but extra heaters provided made it more comfortable
- Kieran (8/5): -
- Alicia Beatriz (10/5): Great experience - Excellent place to enjoy a relaxing holiday. The apartment was beautiful, spotless clean, with all you need. It was nice and warm on our arrival, in a freezing cold day. Confortable bedroom, well sized kitchen full equipped..
Near to shops and the beautiful waterfall we enjoyed the 1st of January. I wish we could stay more days ( just 2 nights). But we will be there again in summer time for sure.
- steven (10/5): - Awesome views, we had a superb time and I would highly recommend a stay at the coach house
- McArthur (8/5): - I would have liked more information on the seaweed products and maybe a couple of miniature samples to test.
This would make it easier to promote the product to family and friends. Anything I would say would being picky.
Very clean and comfortable

- Paula (10/5): - Location is great. Open coal fire. Very cosy property. Really enjoyed the stay. Thanks Gillian! We'll definitely be back!
- Christine (9/5): Relaxing stay - In a beautiful location. Apartment was well equipped. Nothing.
- Greenwood (7/5): Great value, well-situated apartment. - The apartment is handy to beaches and forest hikes, making it a perfect spot for an active break. We visited Glenarm Castle Walled Garden as well, which was beautiful and well worth a trip.
The views of the sea were lovely and we were able to sit on the rocks with a cuppa and enjoy the sound of the waves and watch the gannets diving for fish.
The apartment was well-equipped, clean and tidy, and communication with the host Gillian was very easy. The apartment is on a busy road, which is a favourite route for motorbikes. There is a pervasive smell of dulse in the bathroom.
- Angela (7/5): Great location for a short stay/mini break - We liked it overall and it's in a very good location. It accepts dogs so that is a big plus for us as staying in the upstairs apartment meant we had our own enclosed area for him. We found the bed very comfortable and had 2 great nights sleep. We felt the grounds maintenance was lacking with weeds and areas that could have looked lovely with a bit more care taken. Some internal areas could have been cleaned better, but we enjoyed our stay nonetheless.
- Kathryn (8/5): - well equipped. nice view. saw dolphins. property is on a very fast road so couldnât safely walk from
the property.
- Rhian (4/5): - The location was ideal. The views were fantastic. The property was basically furnished with damp atmosphere. The bed was very uncomfortable and if poor quality. On entering the property we were faced with numerous flies. The shower/ bathroom needs updating.
- Brendan (9/5): Superb - We met Gillian when we arrived, she is very nice and very helpful. The coach house apartment exceeded our expectations, and we will certainly be coming back as it is a great location for exploring area. The sea view is terrific.
- Angelica (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lili (8/5): A simple and cosy 1-bedroom apartment that isn't perfect but that's well-reflected in the price. - Great, peaceful location with a cracking view and we enjoyed seeing many motorbikes riding on the coast road. The property was cosy and the heating coming on at 6pm was always well-timed. The facilities were basic but perfectly functional. Everything we needed was on hand and the supplies as promised in the listing were present. Sadly it appeared as if the floor hadn't been cleaned between the last guest and us using it as there was dirt & pet hair on the floor which we chose to clean up before we left. It was just annoying to have a shower and by the time we walked to the bedroom our feet were black. A bit gross.
Also, the bed fabrics didn't seem to be good quality and felt a bit "plasticky" which made us feel sticky at night. I ended up sleeping on the sofa one night because the bed bothered me.
By the 2nd night some guests were staying in the upstairs apartment, It was fortunate that they went to bed fairly early each night because with every step the pictures and mirrors on the walls would rattle, we could also hear the TV through the ceiling as well.
- Rajesh (10/5): Highly recommended, will book again for next visit - Everything, Gillian is any exception host, excellent location without noise from being on the main coastal road. Safe car parking. Well equipped kitchen for cooking. Warm and causy cottage . Watch the Sun rise over the Sea N/A
- Martin (10/5): Exceptional -
- Diane (8/5): Lovely location, and a good standard basic cottage, not luxury but you get what you pay for. a few problems with instruct - Position just right next to the sea and excellent to go to surrounding areas
We had a lovely time. The instructions to get into the property were awful. Itâs no longer called the Old Coach house on the property and you donât go through the metal gate to park which would have been a lot better. Instead you park at the front of the property and have to walk along the front of the property, along a pavement granted, but it was raining hard when we got there and pitch black. The road outside the property is very fast. We then had to go up slippy wet steps
in the dark with all our luggage. If we could have gone through the metal gate as originally instructed it would have been much safer and better delivering straight to the door to the property off the dangerous road and no dangerous steps either. Also for goodness sake at least have the correct name on the property
and instructions on how to get into it.
In addition an extra blanket would have been lovely . The first night there before the property had warmed up was very cold.
- Samantha (10/5): Exceptional -
- Nicola (7/5): Good - Great location right across from the water! While the downstairs apartment have everything we needed, the bed/mattress could have been better for restful sleep after hiking/sightseeing all day.
- Siobhan (9/5): Brilliant clean house. Very homely excellent value and host made it real chrismassy for us - Peaceful Noise coming from upstairs lots o moving around.
- Patricia (10/5): Highly recommend - Absolutely beautiful spot. Lovely welcome . Milk in fridge for us. Nothing
- Susan (9/5): Superb -
- Tanya (8/5): Recommend this little cottage for sure. -
- Susan (8/5): Good location with sea view, ideal stop off for Coastsl Causeway Route. - Good location with sea view
- Marie (5/5): Passable - Uninterrupted sea views. We raised a couple of issues with the owner while we were there. The owner has taken on board our feedback and will hopefully resolve the issues for the future.
- Declan (10/5): The Coach House - Absolutely beautiful apartment. I could live there no problem, just like home and view was so beautiful looking out at the sea and hearing the waves crash on the rocks Nothing it was fabulous
- Mervyn (8/5): Very good - Great spot. Everything there and more. A lot more than a normal advertised apartment. The bed was real uncomfortable and if there are people staying in the apartment above, unfortunately you can hear every voice, movement and ablution.
- Trevor (7/5): Good -
- Matt (3/5): Very disappointing, would never go back. - The view from the window, and seeing the dolphins swimming by. The property is damp, duvet & bedding was damp, clothes in the wardrobe became damp.
Take your own wood, matches if you want to light the fire, coz nothing is provided. There seemed to be a lot of flies we had to swat the first few days! It wouldâve been good to have work top cleaning spray in the kitchen, because the thought of flies on there freaked me out!
There is only a couple of standing radiators heating the place, but it was enough if you used them all, but drying everything in one room isnât pleasant.
No heated towel rail, or heating in the bathroom so towels were constantly being dried in the living room. Itâs a wet room in the Stables apartment, and itâs very utilitarian. Only one cheap small toilet roll is provided so take extra. We never snooped, and had no idea that extra towels are hidden in a drawer, so we struggled on with only one bath towel each, and one hand towel between us. Found the others on day of departure.
Your so called private space isnât really, coz access to the upper apartment is through there. We had crap weather so we never used it as a space to sit, but having dogs, it wouldnât have been convenient having others back and forth.
The noise/ footsteps from the apartment above is loud!
Itâs on a very busy road, and traffic begins around 6am, and itâs not ideal with taking the dogs in & out.
Past reviews seem alien to me, unless they apply only to the upper apartmentâŠsorry, but not my experience.
ÂŁ30 surcharge is asked for the dogsâŠ.how this is justified is beyond me!
- Rh (7/5): Lovely place to relax and enjoy the ocean views. - Epic views from living room/kitchen. Very spacious and comfortable. Nice and easy check-in and -out process. Noise from passing cars wasnât bad at all. Cleanliness could be a bit better, but it wasnât terrible. Itâs self catering, but a seconds toilet paper roll would have been nice.
- Michael (10/5): Exceptional -
- Deirdre (9/5): Superb -
- Lyndsay (10/5): Amazing Refreshing Weekend - It was perfect, so much was provided despite being self catering, thank you gillian
- Hastings (4/5): Disappointing - The coast The motorbikes
- Graham (8/5): Very good -
- Neil (9/5): Superb -
- A (8/5): Very good -
- Clare (10/5): Exceptional -
- John (10/5): Exceptional -
- Roisin (10/5): Cosy home by the sea - I love the location by the sea and listening to the waves crash. The apartment is cosy and homely and a great place to get away from it all.
- Kelly (10/5): Exceptional - Exceptional views and the owner was lovely . I was also able to take the dog and has free parking and WiFi. With a lovely open fire. With sea views. Love love love. Xx
- Karen (8/5): Wee getaway by the sea. - Charming little apartment right by the waters edge. Plenty of hot water and great for a quiet get away. Liked almost everything apart from the kitchen chopping knives, they where not sharp at all and there is no way to control the heating that we could see. Having said that we lit the fire and were quite cosy.
- James (9/5): Location 5stars - Third time staying here, the scenery is amazing. Apartment is very cozy with the fire lit and a view over to Scotland. Highly recommended if your after a relaxing break.
- Mahon (7/5): Short winter stay at coachhouse - The living room area was very homely. Nice touches of seasonal decorations made family feel at home. Views from the property are lovely. Cottage feel. Clean throughout.open fire, Heaters and electric blankets helped when cold in evening. Overall a great property but needs updating facilitates. Kitchen and bathroom area are functional but need modernisation.a washing machine and drier would improve the facilities for longer stays.
- Lh (9/5): Fantastic location - Very helpful and friendly host. Fantastic location and excellent value. Beautiful views across the ocean. Bed was a bit lumpy
- Janice (10/5): Exceptional - A great stay everything you need in apartment. View from the room overlooking the water was fantastic can't wait to return All great
- Susan (10/5): Great Stay - The property is spacious and clean. Good internet. Location is beautiful right on the Antrim Coast Road. Nothing
- John (10/5): Exceptional - Excellent stay
Apartment was spotless clean and comfortable.
Will definitely stay again.
- Adam (8/5): Very good -
- Paul (8/5): Very good -
- Claire (10/5): Exceptional - Plenty of space, good selection of dvds and games, nice outside area and place for a bbq. Ample parking and in good reach of excellent beaches. No way to walk to local beaches as no footpaths alongside the roads. I had my 8 year old with me so didn't want to walk along a very fast and bendy 6omph road with her.
- French (10/5): Exceptional -
- Olivia (7/5): Very comfortable clean and homely but need a clock& extra bin bags . -
- Geraldine (10/5): Relaxing, comfortable and value for money. - Location, sea views, quiet, the apartment. Very convenient to travel the Glens and neighbouring villages and towns. Nothing at all.
- Ashley (10/5): Exceptional -
- Anita (10/5): Exceptional -
- Gordon (9/5): Great Quiet location with amazing sea views . - Great location, Great sea views .
- Mary (10/5): A cozy, peaceful spot of heaven. - Very cozy place with amazing views, well-equipped kitchen, comfortable beds and a fireplace. The owner Gillian is friendly and helpful, yet discreet. She responded within seconds to any questions we had. The area is stunningly gorgeous and peaceful. The road it sits on does not have a sidewalk.
I would have loved a washer/dryer, as we stayed 5 days and airline luggage restrictions are so draconian.
- James (8/5): Was all goodâŠđ - Relaxing Cosy
- Jan (9/5): Superb - Location great with lots of places to visit. All good.
- Becky (9/5): Beautiful place, beautiful property - amazing location. clean, spacious, gorgeous homely feel. A real home away from home- had everything we needed that we couldnât stay longer! :-)
- Karen (2/5): Basic, wouldnât return. - Clean. Not enough toilet roll (1 for 2 adults for a weekend), kitchen roll or washing up liquid. The kettle, toaster and oven were all very basic (i.e., cheap) and very slow. Not what was expected for ÂŁ190 (plus ÂŁ30 for dogs).
- Paula (10/5): Exceptional - Spotlessly clean.
Milk in the fridge for our arrival.
Everything you could need, towels, teabags & coffee.
I have stayed here before, that's why I came back.
Lovely quiet, unspoilt area. Gillian, the host, met us on arrival. Great price too.
Sea view is amazing but sadly I didn't see the dolphins this time! 10-10.30am check out, I think is just an hour too early!
- Paul (9/5): birds in the morning singing and the noise of the sea water - hidden little gem beautifully views the area was beautiful and peaceful
- Gillian (9/5): lovely property in beautiful quiet location - ideal for exploring the Coast Road - spacious property for 2 people. comfortable, well supplied and beautiful location better mattress for bed
- Robert (4/5): Won't be back - Close to beaches and forest No fuel for fire, although site said charges applicable for pets, host met us before we had even unpacked and ask for ÂŁ20 charge for dog, limited condiments, eg 3 x tea bags, had to use electric heaters, oil heat only on for 3hrs per day,,house very cold in morning,no washing machine, disappointing all over, will not be back
- Keith (9/5): Superb -
- James (10/5): relaxing - location
- Vaigaras (10/5): Exceptional -
- Alex (9/5): Superb - Fabulous location, lovely dog friendly place to stay
- Caddell (10/5): Exceptional -
- Mary (10/5): Excellent dogfriendly, clean property with spectacular ocean view. Super host. - Beautiful location with direct ocean view. Super clean. Thank you for being dogfriendly! Host went out of her way and offered me cash to make sure I had dinner as it was Christmas holiday and the only restaurant open didn't take credit cards and I did not have British currency. I turned down accepting cash, so she made me a Christmas dinner plate! So kind.đ©đ©đđ Just to note, to access grass for pups to do their business make sure to leash them for their safety, as the grass is across the road on the ocean, but easy access. đđ
- James (9/5): very relaxing friendly host very welcoming đ - stunning location ran out of toilet roll only one provided had to do a late run to the shop
- Jonathan (9/5): Good location, great house with good facilities, very relaxing break - Good location to explore the Antrim coast, nice house with all the comforts of home, with outside space and plenty of room. Host was lovely, very helpful. Generally very good.
- Gerald (4/5): Disappointing -
- Bar (10/5): Exceptional - Great place. Will come back. Everything was good.
- Michael (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jason (8/5): Very good -
- Frank (9/5): very comfortable stay but property showing small signs of wear and tear. Helpful host. Would definitely use again. - comfortable seating cosy. Had everything we needed. Hadnât realised that when it slept 4 it was all in one room. It wasnât a big problem, maybe I didnât read the information properly.
- June (6/5): Pleasant - The property was clean and warm and the host was lovely It was pet friendly but in opinion it is not it is to close to the road and no really any outside space for dogs and your not allowed to leave the dogs in the property alone a I also read on reviews that the was a starting pack ie milk bread eggs butter but there was nothing left for us
- Patrycja (10/5): loved the stay and would go back, highly recommended, thank you - -location by the sea
-clean property with everything that you need for yourstay -located by main, busy road
- Jurate (10/5): Exceptional - Location was very good .amazing views .Had everything what we needed and more. Definitely coming back đ„° The only thing we had against it was the bed was so uncomfortable never really got a good sleep but everything else was perfect .
- Mairead (8/5): Very good -
- Garry (8/5): overall i thought it good value for money - Self contained, fairly cosy, and very dark at night- good for stargazing if isn't cloudy and no full moon (which there was when i stayed. A little limited with regards to eating out particularly during the week when kitchens are more likely to be closed.
- Richard (8/5): Very good -
- Donaghey (8/5): Ideal for couples - Scenic Shower curtain ...everything else was great ..slept like a log
- Jeanette (8/5): Would stay again - Waterfoot beach 5 minute drive away which was good for our dog. Pet friendly accommodation. Sea view is what we like also. Working fire was good also. Could do with a few books or board games for whiling away the time without the TV on.
Shower was a bit slow but adequate.
- Alice (6/5): Enjoyable - The accommodation was in a lovely location. The host was very friendly and helpful. The property had everything we needed.
- Emma (10/5): Perfect hideaway - On welcome, Gillian met us and was lovely and helpful. Everything that was needed was there. We really only spent a couple of hours there morning and night but it was comfortable, very cosy. Bath was amazing, plenty of hot water. Surrounding area is breathtaking, real little serene hideaway in short distance to sightseeing touristy spots. Only thing I was very aware of was thin flooring separating apartment below us and trying not to have a toddler running about so as not to disrupt anyones peace. As mentioned before we didn't spend too many hours here though.
- Nic (9/5): Superb -
- Geraldine (10/5): Fab accommodation and weather. Recommended. - Loved the accommodation. Stayed there in 2021 and rebooked when we came home. Quiet location but villages on either side. Fabulous views and better when weather has been very kind. Love it!!! Nothing.
- Elaine (6/5): location was a bit in the middle of nowhere no dog walks nearby - nice big roomy apartment was a bit damp and musty
- Armstrong (10/5): Awesome views. - The location, the accommodation, everything was terrific.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The owner made us very welcome and our doggies too. There wasn't anything we didn't like..
