• Bethany (10/5): - When you first walk in the front door you are greeted with a beautiful aroma that makes you feel wonderful. The hotel is clean, quaint, modern, warm and inviting; you don’t feel like you’re in an echoing museum like most modern hotels. Ember Locke was spectacular from the staff to the bathrooms! If I ever go back to London this is where I’m staying every time. As a woman traveling alone, I felt completely safe. I had a room with a kitchenette which was perfect. The bathroom and shower were spacious and everything worked as it should. The cafe seating and outdoor seating was beyond compare. Thank you Ember Locke for a fantastic experience!

However, the facilities not commiserate with the cost for a night. really uncomfortable bed to sleep in and toilet not flushing. not an experience I am proud of. In all fairness, the host was kind enough to offer me parking space. if the bed and mattress can be changed with new bedsheet and most importantly toilet working well, then I may recommend

• Mathieu (10/5): - I strongly recommend this excellent guest house. The location was ideal for me, near an Oxford Tube stop and opposite the Brookes University campus. The room was just about perfect: clean, comfortable, quiet and in excellent condition. The manager was in touch with me in advance regarding the amenities I desired upon arrival, and my wishes were scrupulously taken into account. There are very good cafés within easy walking distance, so I had no trouble getting breakfast every morning. I had a very pleasant stay and I would definitely consider staying there again.

Headington is a great location to explore Oxford, and if you are a fan of Lewis and Tolkien, it is the suburb that they both lived in. Very nice to have a place to park the car while we went in to explore Oxford (in particular Magdalen College)

The breakfast continues to be excellent and I applaud their commitment to sourcing goods locally. Not only is it a good thing to do the products they use are full of flavour and as you would expect of high quality. Very friendly and informative host. Highly recommended.

• ILARIA SERENA (10/5): Perfect experience! - I have had a wonderful experience. The home is so cozy and authentic, it is very clean and very well located. The owner, Paul, it's the best! He is truly committed to give you the best experience and makes sure all the time that your are comfortable and your needs are satisfied. He cooks personally breakfast for you and is very happy to give you advices and help on how to move around, what to see and where to eat. I really enjoyed his breakfast area, where you can seat together with the other guests on a big table, sharing stories and laughs like in a big family. The location is great. There are plenty of shops and bus stops right outside of the house and it is very easy to reach downtown Oxford, either by bus (a few stops) or by walking (it is a long walk, about two miles, but very pleasant). This guest house is that kind of place where you go once and you will always want to go back!

• Keith (10/5): Cozy and Friendly - This is a small place, so slow down when you get close or you'll drive right past it. There is parking on the forecourt in an area where parking is "Resident Permit Only", so that's important. Inside the place is clean and freshly appointed, and my bathroom was brand new. The WiFi worked well - better than in many full-sized hotels I've stayed at - and the breakfast was exquisitely presented. The proprietor was very friendly and gracious throughout my overnight stay.

• Verified traveler (8/5): Nice and recommendable accomodation - Stayed solo in a single bedroom on the topfloor the night before my hospital visit in a shared bathroom room. Did not have to share the bathroom really because the other room was occupied but the person wasn't there. Room has tiny windows and no curtains but that was not much of a problem as I had to get up early. Would be nice to have the choice to close curtains though, maybe a tip to take forward. Bed was comfortable enough and room has a desk and large cupboard which I didn't use. Small telly which does the trick. Additional pillow in the cupboard which I utilised as I like lying high up. Locking the door despite explanation turned out to be tricky for a clums like myself. Floors are very creaky so I tried not to move around too much. I woke up in the middle of the night due to excessive pain and did not feel unsafe at all going in and out of the bathroom. Breakfast was nice, host Paul pleasant. The area is nice and near the shark house which I of course went to see. There's several places to stay in the same street but will go back to this one in a few months time. Was allowed to leave my car at the premises all day while I was visiting the hospital which was awesome. Nice location, nice and cute accomodation. Would recommend. Thank you, regards Petra
