Guest Reviews
- Jennifer (8/5): Loved Bruny Island and would definitely stay again at 43 Degrees and recommend others to stay there too! - We loved the layout, the cabin was equipped with everything we needed for a three night stay … cabins are close enough to do local walks … breakfast consisted of warm baked bread plus yoghurt and fruit. Shower was great! There wasn’t anything we didn’t like ..only thing if we were being totally honest was that there was really only one place to have dinner (if you weren’t using the facilities in the cabin)… this Cafe was wonderful (Mari Bruny)… other choice was to drive the 20 minutes to the pub in Alonnah.

- Ellen (9/5): - Great location across from the bay, could hear the ocean at night. Walking distance to a restaurant/ Cafe and central location on the island. Wildlife and birdlife in the gardens. Spa bath was lovely. Staying for 3 nights the space felt a bit cramped and it felt difficult to fully utilise the kitchenette space at times due to not much space available. Sometimes felt it lacked privacy with the way the blinds/ windows are set up.
- Duncan (8/5): Beautiful spot - Great spot conveniently close to the beach. Aircon was a bit noisy. Breakfast was not needed, a little too late for our timeline of our start of the day, the items can easily be left overnight in the fridge.
- MARY (9/5): - What a wonderful experience and beautiful scenery. We loved how you can just cross the road to the beautiful Adventure bay and hear the waves from our place.
The best part were all the wallabies and colorful parrots that greeted us every morning and night!
The only downfall is their poop everywhere LOL.
They brought us a healthy yummy cold breakfast in the morning that was delightful.
I was spoiled with the Nespresso machines at the Hilton and in Sydney and we don't use kettles in Hawaii but I did bring some cappuccino packets from Melbourne.
I wish we were bold enough to go out at night to see penguins at the neck and I heard that the Australis southern lights were seen at 2am on May 8th and 9th which was my bucket list but is was so dark and 11Celious this Island girl missed that chance! LOL
We were lucky enough to spot 3 rare white Wallabies !(only seen on Bruny)
If you ever get the opportunity to stay on Bruny island, this is the place to stay for nature, unplug and relax!
We rented a car and it was also a straight 20 minute ferry ride from Kettering ferry to Bruny straight to Adventure Bay with a cheese and bread shop, chocolate factory and beautiful scenic views along the way to 43 Degrees.
There's also a wonderful wine and cider tasting restaurant up the road.
Going to the Lighthouse is a challenge on a long gravel road so we turned back, but we went to Cloud bay instead.
The 1000 stairs at the Neck is worth going up for the view and exercise.
Also, a good fact is the only gas station on the island is walking distance from 43 degrees.
Just know it's colder than 43 degrees in May! LOL
We definitely recommend. Just the wallaby poop everywhere

- Dirk (10/5): Beautiful location. Warm and cozy. - Beautiful location. Warm and cozy.
Met by a couple of potoroos on arrival! The powerpoint being behind the microwave made it cumbersome to change appliances (toaster/kettle/sandwich press)
- Carolyn (9/5): The peacefulness and privacy of this place is astounding - Private and ideally situated across from the beach Nothing - it’s perfect

- Jake (10/5): - It was nicer than i expected, was a great location, bed was comfortable, spa was good and breakfast was convenient Felt like people could see into the room when we slept as the blinds had gaps on the side
- Geny (10/5): loved staying in bruny island in this fantastic accomodation - different
comfortable
had everything we needed
seeing the paddymelons each morning loved it all
- Vanessa (8/5): Lovely visit, adjustments would make it financially viable and I would have happily stayed a week. - The location was great and the cabin was very lovely. The bathroom was spacious, bed comfy and the heated flooring, and general climate control with the timber design was perfect over the Easter long weekend. The little BBQ was great to use, the fridge was a good size for basic food, great having real coffee to use and a French press. A breakfast was dropped off each morning, basic but still nice. The only consideration could be a small stove of some description, either built into the kitchen or a gas stove outside, and a flat plate for the BBQ because the standard grill is very small and the slat holes made it very limiting with what you are able to cook. Bruny Island has limited food options but mainly, the places to eat are expensive and very busy, mostly booked out, and other food options are half an hour away on roads which require very slow speeds due to the wild life. If the room had full cooking facilities, it would allow guests to enjoy the cabin for more time, instead of having to find places to eat and base your day around this. A basic request would be paper towel and kitchen spray so you are able to clean the table and kitchen bench tops after meals.
- Lyn (10/5): -
- Karen (10/5): Consistently good - Exceptionally clean and great location
- Cliodhna (10/5): -
- Nicolas (9/5): - L'environnement! Au milieu des pademelons et pres des plus belles balades! L'absence de personnel. Le petit dejeuner un peu trop rudimentaire
- Cathy (10/5): -
- Stephen (9/5): Great Location and Comfortable Accommodation - The accommodation was in a lovely setting and close to the beach, general store and a restaurant. The room was a good size and very quiet. (Except for the gentle sound of the waves) The breakfast was delivered daily (which is a bonus as not many places provide breakfast in Bruny) and was very tasty but there is no choice and it is quite a small breakfast which we had to supplement with our own supplies. While the host was very helpful we never saw anyone during our stay. This will suit some people but we found it made it a little less personal. It is quite pricey for what you get, but was comparable with other places in the area.
- Nicole (10/5): Gorgeous welcoming room and wonderful location - Loved the proximity to beautiful Adventure Bay- what a beach!
Also, breakfast was a surprise and truly appreciated
- Ian (9/5): - Beautiful location with lush gardens. Situated close to the beach- we enjoyed a spectacular sunrise before a great breakfast. The wine was a special touch for a special occasion. Nice spaces with thoughtful furnishings.
- Andrea (9/5): Beautiful stay in a beautiful location - I loved the comfort and the style. I loved the wildlife and the gardens. The breakfast in the morning was amazing. A dirty broom hanging in the bathroom!!! Why????
- Eric (9/5): Unique and comfortable accommodation in great location. - Unique style accommodation, very comfortable bed, great spa bath, complimentary wine on arrival and breakfast, range of wildlife in front yard, very good communication from host. Lighting over kitchenette was a bit dull, and limited option for flow through ventilation.
- Hayley (8/5): Perfect base for 3 couples to explore Bruny island. - Lovely boutique, uniquely designed pods, spacious with beautiful gardens. Well located near waterfront and amenities . Breakfast delivered to door Nothing
- Felicity (8/5): Bruny island and 43 Degrees are pretty much perfect destinations. - The accommodation was delightfully presented. Simple set out but comfortable and clean. We always hope for more than one towel each but that wasn’t the case. I’m sure we could have asked for extra. We were interested that there weren’t electric blankets on the beds as it could possibly be very cold in winter. The extra blanket was not warm! Man made fibre isn’t. Reverse cycle heating is unpleasant to sleep under. But we were fine.
- Jenny (10/5): Excellent location, very comfortable. - Box of tissues!!
- Diane (10/5): -
- Christine (8/5): - The EV charger was a bonus Breakfast delivered too late for us
- Leanne (8/5): We enjoyed our stay and loved the location and setting. - The setting is beautiful, with lots of animals around the property and the location was great. The bed was very comfortable. The Spa was nice and clean and the breakfast was a bonus. The area around the bed is a little cramped, the bathroom needs a shelf and the kitchen space was limited for food prep.
- Jen (10/5): Enjoyed some quiet luxury in a lovely place in gorgeous garden surrounds - Comfortable and quiet. Beautiful surrounds and welcoming wallabies! Lovely beach walk to shop. Perfect Bruny Island stopover All good at this gem!
- Jeanine (10/5): -
- Sally (10/5): - Loved the wildlife also the bedding was exceptional
- Tomasz (8/5): -
- Mark (10/5): Back again for sure! - The tranquility, sounds of the ocean, the spa bath, Webber Q and the bed. A brilliant location, friendly host and easy access with great communication. Nothing
- Kim (8/5): -
- Brian (10/5): Great place cozy and nice and enjoyed the muesli and bread in the morning. - Great location. Great round excellent heating and needed it!
- Lisa (10/5): A beautiful and comfortable space to return to after exploring the rugged and stunning landscape of Bruny. - The property was beautifully decorated, conveniently located, luxuriously comfortable, and very private. Communication was fabulous and small extra touches were greatly appreciated. I couldn’t fault this property.
- Kay (8/5): - Great location. Patio seating. Ferns and gardens. Wallabies and birds. Kitchenette good. Bed good. Spa bath good. Unit was very hot when we arrived
- Ken (9/5): -
- Felicity (8/5): Excellent except for bed - Great location comfortable Awful pillows and sagging bed
- Linda (8/5): Beautiful Adventure Bay accomodation - Beautiful beach location. Near a cafe and general store and bowls club. Not far from boat trip Smallish for a longer stay
- Kaelen (8/5): - The location was very peaceful
- Paul (9/5): -
- Warwick (10/5): -
- Gilles (8/5): Hébergement original - L' originalité de l' hébergement. Un peu cher.
- Louise (8/5): Comfortable stay in a compact cabin with lovely garden surrounds. - Comfortable cabins across the road from beach (no beach view though) and walking distance to general store. Queen bed, huge bathroom and a garden view across an outside deck were good. Breakfast delivery was appreciated; as was the complimentary wine. The fixed delivery breakfast time at 8.30am is too late if you have booked a Bruny day tour. Nowhere in the bathroom to set up toiletries/makeup (apart from over the toilet on a shelf). No blinds on upper windows means you’ll be woken up very early.
- Larry (8/5): - Everything The bed was squeaky
- Emily (10/5): - Really cosy and very private with all the trees growing around each cabin. Pademelons and wallaby’s hopping by most times I walked out the door. Well equiped kitchenette. And straight across from the beach. Perfect.
- Visagie (10/5): Quiet hidden gem - We loved the position to the beach which was across the road.
The cabin was well laid out and easy to use.
Very quite at night just bliss The shower was a bit tricky for my husband who had a stroke.
Shelving would be good for future stays.
A little info pack would be good for future to show us where the restaurants are and what is available in that area
- Youngmi (10/5): -
- Lee (10/5): Stay was great . Really enjoyed it . - The spa was amazing with a nice touch of breakfast and wine left in the room.
- Kylie (10/5): Was a very beautiful place, the breakfast provided was amazing will definitely be back to stay!! - Great location and very peaceful Nothing
- Leah (10/5): -
- David (10/5): -
- Julia (7/5): A nicely designed cabin in a beautiful location, but the stay felt impersonal and not secluded as advertised. - The cabin design is very nice and clean, the bathroom is lovely, and the location near Adventure Bay is beautiful and convenient. The stay felt more like a budget experience than a 4-star one. It’s fully self check-in with minimal host interaction, and the breakfast provided is very basic. Communication was brief and transactional, with notes about extra fees if dishes were left out or if the cabin wasn’t left exactly as found. We were allocated a cabin next to the car park, with part of the patio directly overlooking parked cars at close range and little screening, despite the cabins being advertised as secluded. When I raised my concern before arrival, it was dismissed and previous guests’ negative reviews were blamed rather than addressed.
- Laura (10/5): Luxurious accommodation in a beautiful location. - Amazing location, walkable distance to the beach at Adventure Bay. Very comfortable with a great bathroom.
The best part was watching the native wildlife from the deck while having a bbq. Only negative would be no microwave but that was fine.
- Pusita (10/5): -
- Yannick (10/5): -
- Wendell (10/5): -
- Linda (9/5): Brilliant beachside in beautiful Adventure Bay - Our cabin at 43 degrees was within a 100 metres of a beautiful white sand, protected beach. Also well located for restaurants and the general store. Not far from the Pennicott pier offering an excellent boat tour. Jo was attentive and prompt answering questions or issues. The kitchen had a small fridge that was enough for the delicious Bruny cheeses and produce . There was also a microwave and toaster oven. We had a great veranda overlooking tree ferns and lots of wildlife. Limited space to hang clothes and store luggage. There were 2 different models of the cabins. Friends stayed in a larger cabin but missed out on our fabulous veranda
- Scott (9/5): -
- Loriana (8/5): - This property was a bit of fun, felt like you were glam camping
- Marcel (10/5): Top Adresse … sehr empfehlenswert. - Spezielle Form der Unterkunft
Garten mit Wildlife
- Michael (9/5): -
- Izanne (10/5): -
- Hanni (10/5): We enjoyed our 3day stay in Adventure Bay very much. - The apartments were not only built to stringent environmental standards but were also very stylish and comfortable.
The wildlife around was wonderful: pademelons coming up to our deck, birds and wallabies were quite tame.
It was nice to get some basic but delicious breakfast. None
- Kylie (9/5): Lovely little getaway - Very close to the beach and short walk to cafe and groceries. Beautiful setting. Very minor but maybe just a top up of milk each day and some body lotion with the bathroom supplies.
- PICRINA (9/5): Love love - Breakfast location and large bathroom
Love wildlife Hard bed
- Jennifer (10/5): - Location, comfortable furnishings

- Paula (9/5): -
- Kristina (10/5): -
- Tracey (9/5): Very peaceful - The proximity to the beach The bathroom was very cold
- Kristy (10/5): Ecofriendly luxury by the Bay - This was a gorgeous rustic lux stay, surrounded by nature in an ecofriendly cabin. A short stroll to Adventure Bay beach. The deep free standing spa bath topped it all off! Extremely spacious cabin. Fresh baked sourdough, Greek yoghurt and muesli for breakfast, included. There is nothing i didnt like about 43 Degrees
- martina (10/5): Nicely designed cosy studio near the bay and a lovely breakfast included. - This studio was nicely designed with everything we needed as we were bike riding around Bruny Island. It was very comfortable and the host was as very responsive and helpful and also provided a lovely breakfast.
- Tim (8/5): -
- Amanda (7/5): Fingers crossed the weather is great and you don’t have to ne inside! - Very comfortable bed Unfortunately if the weather not great there’s nowhere to sit inside except two kitchen chairs. Otherwise lie on the bed! The bathroom is huge and unfortunately this meant the design didn’t accommodate comfortable seating arrangements. We would have loved a couch or two armchairs to sit in. We brought the two outside chairs in, which were slightly more comfortable than the plastic kitchen chairs.
- Kerri (10/5): Loved our stay. Wished we could’ve stayed longer. - Liked everything, especially the comfy bed and beautiful bathroom. Nothing to dislike.
- Erin (10/5): Private paradise only a stroll to the beach - Amazing location, delicious breakfast delivered to our front door, pademelons right out that front door. Could not recommend this place more!
- Jodi (9/5): -
- Anthony (8/5): Great location, with what you need and close to adventure bay shops. - Was as described, had what we needed, great location, included breakfast, spa. Nothing
- Bonnie (10/5): -
- Monique (10/5): -
- Melissa (9/5): -
- Angus (10/5): -
- Nicole (9/5): Lovely location, very comfortable. - Lovely buildings and gardens. Breakfast was a nice touch. Easy booking and self check in. Very close to beach and walk into main part of Adventure Bay. Road at front of property pretty busy, but it was in January at high season, so to be expected.
