Guest Reviews
- Ali (10/5): - Skardu is the place to be specially in summer.
- Jayesha (10/5): - The vibe, the staff, the service, the location, everything was superb. Nothing
- Ayse Gamze (9/5): - Building itself is exceptional because of the historical value
- Zilvinas (10/5): -
- M (10/5): Amazing - thank you for making our stay so enjoyable. - Amazing hotel in a converted fort. The rooms were sympathetic to the surrounding and were very comfortable. Our room had lovely views of the mountains and a stream running a few meters away. Food served in the restaurant was very nice and staff were attentive and very helpful. Talit, the manager of the hotel was friendly and super helpful in organising a driver to visit local areas of interest. Overall a wonderful relaxing stay. Nothing
- Zain (9/5): -
- Momina (10/5): - The room and view. They offer only breakfast, lunch and dinner buffets.
Not separate food.
No room service

- Camille (6/5): - The valley is beautiful Room needs to be refreshed. Very bad smell coming from the bathroom. The small, cheap heater is not sufficient to warm up the room.
Too expensive for the quality — more like a guesthouse than a luxury hotel.
- Mohamed (8/5): Good value for money! - Historic Palace was well preserved.
- mushtaq janjua (9/5): - The stay was just what i had in my mind. Calm, captivating the beauty of skardu autumn away from the city noise. When you come to north you don’t want to live in a boring modern commercial room. Serena is definitely making sure we enjoy culture with luxury services. Totally loved my stay.
- Muhammad Yahya (8/5): -
- Jan (10/5): Everything was superb - Breakfast was outstanding Nothing, I liked everything
- arshad (8/5): - We upgraded the room to executive on the new side. Rooms within fort were very small with no sunlight and hardly any window. Rooms were warm and cozy Rooms inside fort were not suitable for stay
- Anna (10/5): -
- Hania (10/5): -
- Ali (7/5): High expectation low on delivery - Location is excellent. The gardens are nice The room given to us was pretty bad. Internet was down for the stay in this room so I connected with Other rooms Internet
- Hira (5/5): - Serena shigar fort is located at a beautiful location, surrounded by rocky mountains and a river flows just outside its entrance. An added bonus is the garden full of flowers, and fruit trees. It offers a mix of history and modern day amenities Although the property is beautiful but in this visit I felt that it's been neglected recently. The garden wasn't blooming the way I have seen it in my previous visits. Cleanliness was not up to the mark. I was given a suite in the old fort building, but spending some time in it triggered my allergies. Fearing I will have a sleepless night I requested a room change which they facilitated but in the new room the staff had to be reminded to change the bedsheets as they had a visible stain. Even after that I was bitten by bed bugs while asleep. That experience was very disappointing. Never thought I would face bed bugs in Serena!!! The staff seemed to be be a little lost also; didnt try to make the guests feel welcomed, unlike the staff in Serena khaplu (where I had spent 2 nights before coming to shigar). I noticed the staff would be busy chatting nearby but never asked if the food was good or anything else was needed, which is so unlike-serena staff. Maybe the recent floods and the ensuing conditions in the Baltistan region were a factor.

- Naveed (9/5): -
- Rija (5/5): I would recommend some other property with this price point - Its clean and quite green ! You can hear the river nearby Compared to serena Hunza it was lacking in alot of aspects! Paid more but got less. No mini fridge or complementary services. I donot recommend it for the price point.
- Bashir Butt (8/5): - We got the garden front room which was probably the best place to sit & relax! Gardens are exquisite. Unlike other Serena’s, rooms in shigar are old & a bit dirty. glacier water is used in washrooms which is muddy & dirty at times.
- Hadia (4/5): In short it was uncomfortable. - Other than it being a heritage property there isn’t much else to like about it . The uncomfortable rooms, the bathroom, the toiletries, towels, the food , the air conditioning
- Ghulam (10/5): Exceptional - It is a great experience, seems like you are a king❤️
- Cat (10/5): Exceptional -

- Raja (10/5): Exceptional -
- Asad (10/5): - Professional, friendly and courteous staff
Would go back again.
- Shaukat (6/5): Will not stay again here - not worth of the money
- Hamza (6/5): It’s good in terms of cleanliness & luxury but the staff needs a bit training on how to be more accommodating - Beautiful fort and good food The staff was extremely unaccommodating. I tried to confirm my booking for a week but got no response until the night before my stay. When we arrived, we asked to change rooms due to the small bed. They claimed no other rooms were available. We then tried to book for the following day but after multiple follow-ups, they never gave a clear answer. They kept saying they will call back and confirm but didn’t even bothered to say no.
- William (10/5): Exceptional -
- Adeel (4/5): Need more female staff as far too many men ogling women - Location was decent Smelt of polish through the hotel and the staff apart from the reception lady were all men and rude. My 8 year old daughter felt intimidated
- Daniel (10/5): Best place to stay in Skardu - Excellent staff and customer care.
- Imran (10/5): - Beautiful natural wonders and the team at Serena was very supportive and helpful.

- Sohail (9/5): Superb -
- Sumeed (10/5): Exceptional -
- Julian (10/5): Exceptional - Friendly staff went out of there way. Low doorways mustn't forget to duck.
- Maryam (9/5): Fabulous - Lovely location, beautiful gardens, great food, cordial staff and loved the fact that they have preserved the 4 centuries old fort and made a nice comfortable hotel. Nothing much. I would appreciate if they had a tea/coffee set up in the room. Also there was no room service.
- Ayaz (5/5): It was not a pleasant stay, the beds are small in length, pillows are very tough and no option - Location is not good More info about location, surroundings and parking space
- Sajid (9/5): Superb -
- Fahim (5/5): Passable -
- Marina (10/5): Incredible location on the road to K2 in an elegant, lovingly maintained historic building. - location! amazing Shigar. went rock climbing just behind the hotel, trekking for half a day, and relaxing in the garden. in a perfect world it would have a small spa.
- Kasar (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful location, stayed in one of the heritage suites, tasterfully decorated whilst maintaining the integrity of the historical architecture.
Wonderful place for rest and relaxtion. No tv:s.
Exceptional staff team, nothing was too much for them to accomodate, even baking a cake for my mama's 80th.
Without doubt one of the best authentic places we have stayed, historical fort with a touch of modern.
Call out for exceptional service, Fida Mohammed and the lovely receptionist, whose name escapes me but began with Noon......and Qamar, who expertly drove us to the airport for our transfer. Rizwan great help with room issues. Nothing to dislike, however a communal room for guests to congragate would be a great addition.
- Samee (9/5): Overall great experience - history no central/temperature controlled heating
- Marvi (10/5): Excellent place to stay. would recommended to all family and friends. - the staff was very friendly and very cooperative. There were no bathrobes.
- Muhammad (10/5): Exceptional services, accomodation and food - Everything was excellent from service, food and other facilities. An excellent place to stay where you have both landscape and comfort. Everything was exceptional.
- Syed (10/5): very pleasant experience to stay in a fort perfectly updated as a modern hotel facility - Excellent Place to stay very pleasant experience to stay in a fort perfectly updated as a modern hotel facility
- S4meer (10/5): Great! - Loved the location, very peaceful. Got a free room upgrade and the facilities in the room and outside were good as well. The breakfast was good too and the staff was very helpful. I think activities for the kids could've been nice like a play area etc. Further, the card I had on booking.com wasn't charged via the portal and I had to perform online transfer as I was not carrying a card to pay the booking amount.
- Hamza (9/5): Superb - Break was good. Location is superb. Bed should have been more comfortable.
- Rodiyallah (9/5): Superb - The hotel concept is quite unique and this is our first time sleeping in a fort. Room size is adequate with full facility and the heater works well to give us warmth while outside it was below freezing point. Breakfast is great with wide selection of food and drinks that suits our palate. We were also given a guided tour around the fort and it's really interesting to learn about Paksitan's culture and history. The views are lovely with a garden and nicely restored fort nothing!
- Silwat (8/5): Very good -
- Hayyan (8/5): Very good -
- Asif (7/5): Good - Food was great 👍 Management was very poor and not communicated.
- Bilal (10/5): Exceptional -
- Huzaifa (6/5): Pleasant -
- Anonymous (10/5): Exceptional -
- Raafay (10/5): Beautiful, serene place with friendly staff who go out of the way to make you comfortable!! - Great service, friendly staff who go out of the way to make you comfortable!! Place is beautiful and serene. A must visit! We told them it was our anniversary and they made a complimentary cake for us and even upgraded our room!! Internet patchy in certain parts of the room.
- Fahad (10/5): Fort into 5 star Hotel - It was amazing stay. Overall ambiance of the hotel is amazing and worth staying. Old fort converted into hotel and seeing and staying in old style rooms with modern amenities is such a great idea of spending your vacations. Also you get a chance of cherry picking too if you’d be lucky to stay in that season i.e June- July
Everything was perfect from cleanliness to quality of food and the service of staff.
Lastly the people around this area are so welcoming and friendly that it looks so cute.
