Having stayed previously here before with our dog … we booked for an overnight stay. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful with great facilities for our family and dog … our last visit was great but this one was even much memorable … No wonder it won the 2025 dog friendly hotel of the year !!

The dogs barking at dinner in the restaurant/ breakfast area ( we had to eat in the breakfast area as the restaurant was to busy. However we knew it was a dog friendly hotel, but that one dog that barked at anything that moved , I think the owner of it should have eaten up and moved away .

- amy (6/5): We’ve been a few times before but won’t be back. - Good sized rooms, very clean. The staff were excellent. Very friendly and helpful. Debbie went out of her way to accommodate us and we really appreciated that. It is a dog friendly hotel and yet we were put out into the hallway to eat, along with other dog owners. Not only did it feel uncomfortable in general, with other customers coming in and out right past our table, but there was a constant stream of dogs coming through and it would set off the ones who’d finally settled, so it wasn’t an enjoyable experience. We were told that we were placed into the hallway as there were no spaces elsewhere but we spotted three free tables in the usual dog friendly area of the bar. We were also seated out here for our breakfast and so we had to choose from a set menu for our breakfast rather than the usual buffet style. It wasn’t good quality at all, neither was the evening meal, which was very overpriced. Again, hard to enjoy your meal when there’s people walking past your table with their cases and dogs every two minutes. It said online that there would be a ‘dog menu’, but this wasn’t provided.

- Audine (9/5): Great redecorated bar - Inn on the coast was a spacious hotel about a 20 minute walk to downtown Portrush along a great coastal track. The room was comfortable but very hot at times. The breakfast was great. We lived the bar at the side of the hotel with its renovation done using recycled materials- doors, stainglass etc from an old church. It was very unique. Our room was very hot. We asked for the heating to be turned down and later off but it didn't seem to make any difference. We managed to open the window fully but the noise from the road was quite noisy.

- Vanessa (9/5): Diamond in the Rough-I’ll stay again if in Portrush. - The location was lovely. 15 bus ride from the city center/portrush train station/west strand beach. It was located right at the bus stop. It was just across the street from the coastal walk from Portrush to port Stewart. While on a busy road, didn’t hear traffic at night. The neighbors seem quite posh. While I didn’t bring a pet, the hotel and all employees are pet friendly. I loved seeing dogs going in and out for walks and just hanging with their owners in the lobby. And places for walks/runs are just outside the door. Most important the desk staff was lovely. As a solo traveler, a warm chat is always welcome. Debbie was excellent. Not only was she helpful in offering places to check out, she gave inside tips only a local would know. And offered the history of the place. I learned a lot and am grateful to have gotten to meet and talk with her. A treasure. at the Inn on the Coast for sure. The smell of the cleaning materials was a bit overwhelming.

- Scunnered101 (6/5): 1 night stopover: - Our room was clean but jaded and in need of some care and attention.Bed was comfortable. Decent selection of tea, coffee etc. Staff welcoming and friendly. We had dinner in the hotel and the food to be honest was only ok. The Butterflied chicken..must have been a very small chicken: the champ was lukewarm, as was the sauce. Partners burger and chips was so so: the chips were "delicious", the burger drowned in mustard and red sauce which spoiled the taste of the meat. Breakfast was also disappointing: the large fry contained 1 sausage, 1 bacon, 1 egg, half a bit of potato bread and a small piece of soda bread, half tomato and sone mushrooms which looked like tinned ones....Partner quite peeved about that. There was a good selection of bread for toasting, croissant etc, machine tea/coffee and plentiful chilled water and orange juice. Again, staff were friendly and welcoming.

- Patrickmcc2015 (10/5): Lovely friendly hotel - My wife, daughter, small dog and I are just back from a very enjoyable overnight stay at the Inn. We have visited a good number of times over the years and it's one of our favourite places. The location is fabulous looking out at the Atlantic between Portrush and Port Stewart and all parts of the hotel are tastefully decorated and well maintained. The staff as always were most friendly and helpful on this visit. We had large comfortable bedrooms with everything we needed, even bowls and treats for our small dog who was made very welcome in most parts of the hotel. Breakfast was really good with a well stocked buffet for cereals, pastries, juices etc and excellent coffee and with a choice of hot food options which were served to order. Service at breakfast was excellent. The only area that we felt could be improved was the evening dining experience - the evening food is fairly basic pub grub fare which was disappointing and the service was not as attentive as it should have been, with not all dishes being cleared away between courses - if the evening dining experience was on a par with breakfast the hotel would tick all the boxes. We would still definitely love to visit again despite this.

- diane (9/5): Great place to stay, stop and explore locally. - Staff were super friendly and very helpful, location is great gorgeous views and easy to find with a bus stop outside if you want to ditch the car and explore. Pub/restaurant on site which served great food. Room was huge and beds were comfortable, the place is like a tardis looks pretty small from the outside, but goes on forever once your in! Breakfast was really good too. Only issue we had was the TV came on twice during the night and woke us up 👀 we switched it off at the plug so sorted it but casper the friendly ghost didn't help is have a great night's sleep 🤣

- Jill (10/5): Nice place to stay close to busy Portrush - Our room was spacious and clean. We enjoy having 3 chairs in our room. Their housekeeping staff does a wonderful job. The front desk receptionist staff are fabulous! This morning their breakfast staff was great, too. The hot breakfast was wonderful. You order off the menu. Good location in a quiet area, but close to many things. Heads-up, no elevator. No problem for us. We’ve noticed there aren’t outlets in the bathrooms which would be nice. They do have a mirror by the desk with another outlet.
- Gordon (8/5): Very good option for Portrush. - Very nice small hotel. A great room. Very friendly staff. Enjoyed playing darts and pool. Breakfast was a little bit chaotic. It would be nicer to eat in the restaurant than in a kind of corridor. But it wasn’t too bad.
- Kinnier (8/5): Level of service 😔 - Hotel was excellent. Rooms spacious and clean. Breakfast was great. Only complaint is restaurant........food excellent when it arrived. Not impressed with the level of service. Slow to take order, waiting time, staff behaviour ie standing round bar when people have no drinks.no checking in if everything ok. We ate in restaurant 2 nites.......second nite slightly better but has really put me off.

- Lisa (10/5): Recommend Place to Stay - Staff friendly and were confident in their roles. Location 2.2 mile walk into Portstewart. 1.1 mile walk into Portrush. The room has been redecorated since we last stayed as had the reception areas, very nice. Food was great... Got pool table back and darts which is a great addition from previous stay too. Nothing - all was great.

- Timothy (10/5): Picturesque location right on coast in a lovely comfortable clean and value for money hotel - Sylvia on reception when we arrived was both charming and informative, booking us a table at our restaurant of choice and supplying us with taxi phone numbers also. Absolutely nothing wrong

- Chacha11_11 (2/5): Disappointing no food for non residents. - We visited inn on the coast as have done for the last 15 years and every Easter. Phoned ahead to ensure serving food, they said yes but not taking reservations. Walk ins only. So we went ahead walked in had a couple of drinks while the kids played golf went to get a menu when they arrived over and had their drinks. Sorry residents only. Reception saying one thing, bar the other. Kids were starving. So disappointed after visiting here regularly over the last 15 years!!!! Lots of people saying the same thing. Obviously don’t need the money!!!

- Yvonne (10/5): - Everything. It was the first time we brought our dog and we had a brilliant weekend. The room was spacious and everything was lovely and clean. Breakfast was lovely as always and Alfie the dog loved his sausages for breakfast. Will be bringing hom back more often.

- Selina (9/5): Excellent, really glad we booked this hotel. - Staff were very welcoming, friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble, gave us lots of good tips about the area. The rooms were massive! Location excellent, right in-between Portrush and Portstewart. Everywhere we wanted to visit was within about half an hour by car. The only thing I would have liked would have been 1 small towel and 1 bath sheet as opposed to 2 medium-sized towels.

- Mobile722782 (10/5): Excellent place to stay - From the warmest of welcomes through to the excellent service in the bar, restaurant and fabulous breakfast this was a lovely place to stay. We had a huge room which had been newt decorated. Highly recommend staying here for your trip to this beautiful area.

Warm welcome from Debbie at reception. We dined in restaurant, food was very good. Have Jesse make you a Margarita 😋 There is nothing ‘not’ to like.

- Lynn (10/5): Exceptional - The room was exceptional - far bigger than I had imagined a hotel room. We had dinner in the hotel and it was lovely to see the sea, lovely atmosphere in the bar area with the football on screen. The breakfast was devine - the staff ever so friendly and accomadating. Very efficient service of the hot breakfast . I only made the booking at lunch time and checked in around 4.15pm. Couldn't have asked for a better location, stay. We will be back for sure and I have said to friends about the quality and service within the hotel and its only a 20 min drive from home.
