- Debs (9/5): Rural Irish Charm - We really loved the character of the hotel, it felt very much like a stately home that welcomes new friends! Our host, John, was a very generous and helpful chap... and he makes a very tasty breakfast! Our room was a good size, with a large en suite shower room. We found the bed was a little soft, but thats just our preference.

The host was so friendly and helpful and cooked an amazing breakfast. Lovely comfortable lounge to sit by the open fire and watch TV. A short drive into Banbridge with its wonderful selection of places to eat and shops. Belfast is just 30 minutes where the Titanic experience is a must! There was nothing I didn’t like about the property.
- Leon (10/5): - The whole place was beautiful. Outside within the grounds we often saw big fluffy cats. The hottub was absolutely amazing, it rained lightly while we were in it which added to the experience as the tub was lovely and warm, though inform the owner if you wish to use it as it takes 8 hours to heat. The owner had the fire lit for us at dinner time and offered us breakfast. This is the place to go if you love history! Only thing I could say is make sure you drive as local shops and restaurants were quite far

It needs to be made clear that this is a privately owned country house and not to expect modern corporate comforts. One bed needs a new mattress. More towels needed on arrival. Room not heated ready for our arrival. Drawers and cupboards need a good clean. Cold moving around the common parts. November visit!

John who owns it couldn’t be any nicer, he made us feel like we was home from home, he couldn’t do enough for us, he went out got us a bottle wine and took us to the wedding venue, and even dropped us off at the Belfast port on return home.. I will 100000% be staying again even just to see John Nothing to complain about it’s a stunning house and garden and hospitality goes above and beyond

He is friendly, welcoming, and cooks a delicious Irish breakfast. We were in a room for four people, a large bed for my husband and I and two single beds for our children. It's lovely having that combination. We enjoyed the Victorian decor and the massive bath. It felt like living in a cross between a museum and a home. Thank you for your hospitality!

John our host was lovely and cooked us delicious breakfasts. Also lovely surrounds with a donkey across the road who loved a pat, and some cats on the property who loved a cuddle. Highly recommend.

The owner disappeared after we checked in and we could not get ahold of him to resolve the issues. We did not feel comfortable sleeping in those beds. The house was dusty and dirty.

- Julia (2/5): - I really wanted to like this place, we were very excited to stay here but as soon as we got to the Banoge house we could smell that the manager smokes in this building. We arrived very late that evening and left in the morning again because we couldn’t stay the second night we initially booked. We had our 9mo baby with us and I’m pregnant and didn’t want us to be exposed to the smell and smoke. This place was advertised as a non-smoking facility, so be aware of it! The manager did not want to refund us the second night which is very unfortunate. My husband even saw the manager with a lit cigarette walking to his office in the back. I normally don’t write negative reviews but I want other young families to be aware of the smoking inside, the dirt and the whole situation. I wish I could attach photos we took of the place, the dirty baby cot, the very messy kitchen we got served breakfast in, the carpet in our room which hasn’t seen a vacuum cleaner in a while, the very sticky breakfast table and more.. It seems like the manager who lives there and I assume he runs all of it might need some help with cleaning the house and maintaining things.. Hope it’ll get better in the future!

Original tiles in the hall, beautiful art and decor everywhere it was a privilege to stay there. Our room had a beautiful free standing bath with a view and my kids adored the 4 poster bed which was extremely comfortable. I would live to stay again in summer when when hot tub is running and the little out door bar area is open. We loved all the cats but my children kept scaring them away unfortunately I loved it its absolutely beautiful- but you did not appreciate old world charm and beauty if you were after a modern sleek experience with modern feel this wouldn't suit

- Macushla (10/5): Lovely traditional old guesthouse with a very friendly host - A short drive outside of Banbridge and set on beautiful gardens in the countryside. The rooms were traditional but comfortable with a huge luxurious bath and seperate shower. Our host John was a fantastic storyteller and made us a lovely omelette for breakfast. There are cats on the property but we didn’t have any allergy issues.

Hair on shower floor. Requested hairdryer as none in room , it had stated hairdryer provided under room facilities. Awful place.

The bedside lamp was broken in half, and the hole turned to the wall in an attempt to disguise it. Could not hang clothes in the wardrobe due to the musty smell.

John, the owner was very friendly and accomodating, and gave us great information about the local area, and things to do. He made us a perfect Irish breakfast and excellent coffee!

- Rosario (5/5): Reviews given is not true. Wont reco this place - It looks nice from the outside and with the photos posted online, in reality, its completely the opposite 1. It is stated in the site that the room comes with the use of the kitchen but upon booking, confirmation stated that “room use only”. 2. Room 1 shower is faulty. We ended up showering with cold water. 3. Room 3 bed mattress is so uncomfortable, sagging!

- Mary (10/5): Character Residence - John was a wonderful host and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. If you like Downton Abbey you'll love it here. Lovely grounds around the property. Will return when I'm in the area again.
- Kelly (10/5): - The house and property is gorgeous. Breakfast was delicious and made to order. The only negative was the shower was not working and we were not made aware of that at check-in and they were already aware of the issue.
