Guest Reviews
- jacquelinehJ2254YR (10/5): Nice Pub-hotel - We stayed in a room above the pub, it was a pleasant room with a view to front . Decorated in a soft green finish a comfy bed and fluffy pillows.
The shower room had soap , hand cream and shower gel.
The only downside was the lack of supplies to make tea in the tiny cups, we asked for milk as there was none at all , they gave us 5 portions for 2 people, saying that’s all they had.
We were Emailed in advance to warn us about the DJ and loud music on the night we stayed, but it didn’t bother us or keep us from sleeping.
- zoelK3758OU (10/5): Wow wow wow. - We went for the bottomless brunch, on a Wednesday. It's was for 2hrs but you get the table for 2.5hrs. The food was fantastic, my husband paid the extra to have a rebal burger ( which is not on the bottomless brunch menu hence paying extra ) . I had the wings but there was no way on earth I could eat them all, but they we're amazing & such a shame I had to leave them. The lady behind the bar Andie was so attentive & nothing was to much trouble. As soon as we had finished a drink the next one was waiting for us. The chef Shaun came out of the kitchen to make sure everything was OK & satisfactory. He was so nice & friendly very talkative, both members of staff really made the experience worth while. We will definitely be back next time we're in deal. Would definitely recommend this place. Fantastic.
- X3552EBpeterb (10/5): my recent stay here - Great place to stay for a night or two if you are in Deal, the rooms are spotless, the staff are super friendly and so helpful. I have stayed here 3 times now and would highly recommend it.
- normanj222 (6/5): Fabulous for B&B but not at the weekend - Like the curates egg, good in parts. Location is great within 5 minutes walk if the beach and restaurants. The room was extremely comfortable and the staff welcoming and friendly. Extremely.good breakfast as well. However, they have late music at the weekends and, although told at time of booking, nothing prepared us for the reality. Not some gentle disco beat but hardcore drum and bass at maximum volume till after 2am. Absolutely impossible to sleep. If I come back to Deal I will stay here again but during the week
- simonlZ6848ZV (8/5): Convenient pub hotel near beach and station in Deal - Had a very good nights sleep and first class generous English breakfast which I couldn’t complete. Watched some International Rugby in the large bar with a pint of good DoomBar and a reasonable crowd. Bit of a party place on a Saturday night as well so ticks many boxes. Room very comfortable and well equipped including Nespresso coffee machine. So handy for the train station, Aldi and the seafront. I will return next summer
- TenerifeHammer (10/5): 3 day getaway - Booked into room 4 which is a small twin en-suite. Got there Sun 21 may so wasn’t noisy. Apparently it can be really loud on Thursday Friday and Saturday. They do warn you and give you earplugs. Anyway, the room was clean, cozy, the staff were very nice and the breakfasts were very good. I had a full English which you get two of everything, my partner tried the other options and was all very nice. Would not hesitate to go back.
- 628marionm (2/5): Saturday night stay - If you are planning on staying here on a Saturday night think again. The music from the bar downstairs is terrible. We were only notified about the noise after we had booked . Thought it wouldn't be that bad but it was unbearable. This review was sent at 02.09 am.
- nikkio906 (10/5): Lovely stay lovely staff - We stayed there for 2 nights B&B and I can only say our welcome.was.lovely. Tom( front of house/Bar man) was so lovely friendly and professional. Nothing was too much trouble. He was so lovely, if he was my son I would be so proud of him. Mel the chef was fantastic, we are fussy eaters yet she made our eggs to perfection. Breakfast was so tasty and well cooked and presented. I will definitely be staying there again. We are 2 middle aged ladies yet we were looked after so well by all the staff and even the bouncers ( thr pub had disco nights Friday and Saturday).. Nikki & Kath xx ( photo taken in the garden area of the pub.. xx)
- L2366NQaland (8/5): Good stay - Really nice place near the station.staff are friendly and happy to help.
The food is fantastic good traditional pub grub done well.
The room was a bit on the small side but had everything you need was to hand, the bed was comfortable and the shower invigorating.
The only drawback no Air-con or fan.
- tonileef538 (10/5): Girls night away - The rooms were very clean and comfortable with tea and coffee provided. Breakfast (cooked by Joe), was lovely with a good choice for every taste. The staff were absolutely brilliant - very helpful and nothing too much trouble. Would recommend to anyone and would definitely come again!
- matthewoN1362KC (2/5): Disgruntled customer - We bought entry tickets for New Year's Eve having been told over the phone that we could come between 9-2pm. We were turned away at the door by a very rude lady at around 1030pm who said we had arrived too late and had to be there by 915 at the latest. There were people queuing up to buy entry tickets at the time. She said we would have to queue up again and pay again for the entry tickets again. The entry ticket just bought entry and nothing else. We said were happy to queue up but felt paying for simply entering the property was unreasonable given the circumstances to which we received an obnoxious comment. Short of it we felt cheated out of our money and were spoken to rudely by staff on the door.
- Dazzer7 (10/5): Nice Place To Stay - Stayed here for one night as was working in the area.
Nice and clean pub with a great choice of beers and a decent food menu.
Ordered food which was tasty and didn't have to wait long.
The staff here are lovely and friendly and provide fantastic customer service with a smile which is always appreciated.
The room itself was nice and cosy with plenty of complimentary sachets of tea and coffee, ample towels and nice soft pillows.
Despite the pub being quite full because it was Karaoke night I actually got a decent nights sleep.
Wouldn't hesitate to stay here again if I was working down this way again.
No parking available outside the pub but the train station is only across the road and it was cheap enough to park in there and plenty of CCTV cameras to keep an eye on your car or van.
All in all would definitely recommend this place as its only a few mins walk to the promenade and plenty of shops around and if you don't eat in the bar there's plenty of places within a few minutes walk to satisfy anyone's taste buds.
- periperi2018 (2/5): No sleep - As others on here have mentioned, if you stay on a Friday or Saturday you'll be lucky to get any sleep before 2am. Thumping club/disco music from the bar along with shouting, screaming teen-agers. My whole room vibrated with the beat. Be warned !
- Neil (10/5): - Just an overnight stay. Very clean and staff welcoming.
- David (8/5): - Lovely room only thing wrong is that the noise from the bar is realy loud luckily it closed at 22.00hrs
- James (6/5): - Great room and staff. Very clean. The only down side was that I wasn’t aware that the pub stayed open until 2:00 a.m and that the music would continue until 2;30 a.m. It would be a great venue if you are planning a night on the town. 👍😀
- Ivaylo (10/5): - The staff was very helpful and friendly. We’ve been warmly welcomed
The room was clean and tidy. it looked recently renovated. Very happy with the stay.
- Rebecca (10/5): Amazing. - Staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was lovely and clean probably the best we’ve stayed in. Definelty looking forward to staying again.
- Stuart_and_Lucy (10/5): Loved it! - Yes it’s very loud on a Friday night until 2am but I knew that when booking. Room was very clean and extremely comfortable. Breakfast extremely reasonable and very tasty! Will definitely stay again, maybe not a Friday or Saturday if I need the rest but I wouldn’t rule it out!
Thanks QST!
- christined589 (8/5): Miss Dalton - Very clean,Welcoming staff, Only down side is the noise from disco downstairs, Even thou we was told about the noise, We didn't expect it to be as loud as it was wear you would actually think you was in the disco its self, Such a shame,But overall very clean near everything and the breakfast is spot on and at half the price, Went down a treat. And staff couldn't be more apologetic for the noise.
- Kathryn (2/5): Would not stay again - The rooms are in need of restoration and cleaning the room was very hot no fan and it was a very hot weekend, it was very noisy!!
- Garry217 (2/5): Noisy and ill prepared - They don't warn guests in advance that Saturday night in the pub below is a loud, pumping party night until 2.30. The floor of my room was vibrating; it was uninhabitable, and certainly not sleepable in. The carpet was badly stained and the bathroom sink was cracked past the point where it should have been disposed of. An absolute abomination of a room by an exploitative landlord / owner.
- TDC79 (2/5): Do not stay here - Whilst buried in the booking site details there is a disclaimer about weekend noise, it wasn't clear and the level of 'noise', went way beyond any reasonable level, both from the music from the below bar and the constantly slamming front door that was immediately below my room. Therefore selling this as a bedroom, a room in which you would want to sleep, is in my view misleading, and impossible before 3am when the venue below eventually emptied out. My displeasure was not helped by the offer of earplugs from the staff.
Furthermore, whilst the sheets and towels were clean, the carpets and other fixtures looked and smelled like they hadn't had a good clean in years.
DO NOT STAY HERE.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - DJ playing until 2am in the morning. I rang up before to say that my kids aged 9, 8 and 6 would be with me but there was no mention of a DJ
- Melanie (4/5): - It would’ve been nice to have been told in advance the facility was going to have a live DJ until 3AM. I didn’t sleep and couldn’t get a proper rest.
- Kayley (6/5): Good - Bed was comfortable, don’t stay on a Saturday night if you want a quiet night away as a DJ is on until 2:30 and it is so loud! Lovely and friendly, good place for a hotel but does need some TLC with the rooms
- Carol (8/5): - The staff were excellent, very helpful and friendly. The food was good although we couldn't get breakfast as the pub wasn't open. It was very noisy being a Saturday night but we were warned and ear plugs were supplied.

- Patricia A (8/5): Good value, nice people - A nice simple place near the beach and only a few minutes walk from the train station, at a very good rate. The staff were kind and helpful. Only one caveat, live music can go on until very late in the pub below, which is fine if you are a late night person, and why not, it's a nice pub.
- Clifford (10/5): Cliffs review - Helpful staff show to my room, cental location, reasonable sizero room, clean and fresh, hot water and plenty of it, pleasent bar nice food.
- SCornely (6/5): Okay for a night - If you are simply looking for a place to spend a night, it‘s okay to stay here but I wouldn‘t like to spend a longer time here.
The guest rooms are located above a very nice pub with friendly people. First we were in sorrow that it might be too loud as the pub is located to a main road but it‘s really calm in the late evening/night.
Our room was small but nice on first sight. On second, it needs service. The washbasin should be renewed as well as partly the rendering of the walls or the Ikea-like-shelves. But for 60£ this was totally okay.
What I did not understand was the construction of the window in our room.
Like in many older houses a second window has been set behind the original old window. Ok. But why was there an iron rod screwed on the outside of the window? It might be a very German way of thinking, but in case of an emergency like a burning corridor this would be a death trap, because you cannot open the window.
I would like to have asked this, but when we left the next morning the pub was closed (no breakfast, only on weekends).
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Enjoyed the time there friendly staff comfortable room good cleanliness but needed a redecorate looked tired
- JOYCE (6/5): REUNION IN DEAL - location to railway station and town excellent. very loud music all weekend you are warned about at time of booking. our room very small.
- E2791YYsueh (6/5): Good location - Parked at the train station nearest car park. Friendly check in and good sized room. Funny smell in corridor. Very large bed and comfy. The room could do with either some shelves or small chest of drawers as nowhere to put your bits and pieces. Bottle of wine later was a good price.
- adammorrisonj (10/5): Lovely stay - We arrived at the hotel at 1pm. We were welcomed by a lovely member of staff called Amie who showed us to our room the room was very clean and had a lot of natural light .The bed was extremely comfortable and the best night's sleep I had in very long time .I would definitely go again.
- Lyn (4/5): Rooms - Don't think the rooms have been updated for years.
- 321ceejayw (10/5): Spot on - Good night's sleep, great for sport, brilliant location near the beach and great for a night out and the breakfast was absolutely top notch! Don't forget to try the Pornstar Bombs, Quince Gin, and the massive selection of beers
- Maria Jolanta (8/5): Lively pub with good food, very comfortable room - We stayed Saturday night, very noisy as it was dj night downstairs but we’re informed about it before. Very clean and comfortable room, nice breakfast following morning, would stay again.
- Denise (8/5): Nice, Clean and Tidy - I only stayed for one night whilst travelling but everything was nice
- Ian (6/5): - There appeared to be a lack of hot water, had not experienced this problem when staying previously
- Verified traveler (2/5): Noise and more noise - Unable to sleep due to loud music from the bar. Thought it might cease at 10.30 but went on until much later. Tissues stuffed in ears were inaffective even the radiator was vibrating with the noise. No staff available to complain to.took decibel reading that was 60+.
- Paul (8/5): Friendly staff, central location.Would use again. - Stayed for just the one night, but found the staff friendly and helpful.Once we arrived, our room was`nt ready so we got a free drink for the inconvience, which was nice of them. The hotel was clean enough, tidy and the rooms were basic but clean enough too. It`s pretty lively on a Saturday night as they have a late bar going on with a dj playing music,so if you are looking for a quiet stay, especially on a Saturday then this may be the wrong place to come to but in general it`s a good hotel for a weekend. The breakfast`s are nice too!
