Guest Reviews
- Simon (5/5): -
- Lee (2/5): - Dirty. Black mould and damp in toilets and showers. Wouldn’t let us wear shoes inside which I normally wouldn’t have a problem with if the floors were clean. They said this is so they have to clean less!
- Weronika (1/5): Don’t choose this place - Location is quite good Everything. I haven't seen such a dirty place in a long time. I understand that the price is low, even very low, but some basic standards should be maintained. I felt very uncomfortable sleeping there and barely survived one night. The bathroom was disgusting, the pillows were dirty, the bedding was stained, and the towels were basically blankets, not towels. The WiFi didn't work in the room, and none of the available outlets worked. I charged my phone at the reception…
- Steve (6/5): Just a bed - Good location 1 block from the van terminal. It was quiet. Garbage cans were full, nobody cared to empty them.
Staff didn't care who came or went. Lockers smell.
- Marine (4/5): Disappointing -
- Ramon (8/5): Very good -
- Lucía (5/5): Passable - It's a disgusting place. Dirty and smelly. Full of drunk tourists that won't let you sleep. Having said that, it is one of the cheapest hostels in El Nido, but it is still not worth it. The staff was nice. They let you leave your luggage before checking in.
- Kamiliya (1/5): Bad - Very bad place. So dirty! I wanted to escape this place, but it was very late, so had to stay here. Not recommended at all.
- Tatiana (5/5): Passable - The food was good at the attached restaurant. Good location. Weak wifi that would cut in and out. None of the sockets in our room worked. Bathrooms were dirty, but not too terrible.
- Leire (6/5): Pleasant -
- Pauline (6/5): Pleasant -
- Alfie (1/5): This place should be shut down honestly. - Free water, okay location. The worst place we’ve ever stayed. We chose to stay here based on limited options, the good price, and the location. However, my partner and I both got conjunctivitis here, presumably from the sheets/ pillowcases or the towels, which smelt particularly bad, or from the shared toilets which were always disgustingly dirty and never seemed to be cleaned, even though the staff were always at reception but were sat on their phones all day. None of the staff were welcoming or friendly or even spoke to us. The air-con was so old and loud and the air it pumped out seemed so congested and dusty, there were no windows either. Honestly, just spend a bit more on a nicer place, it ruined our time in el nido.
- Kim (7/5): Good -
- Sugandh (7/5): Good - Staff was very polite - checkin was seamless , they provided towel and lock for the locker
- Marzan (5/5): Passable -
- Lucrezia (6/5): Cheap at least - The water refill, the cheap price The space in the dorm is very limited, with all the bags on the floor you can barely walk in the room. Also not cleaned, I had a dirty cotton swab in the light shelf in my bed
- Bartek (3/5): Poor - There were sockets at every bed Dirty floors and staff tells you to take your shoes off before entering
- Verified traveler (4/5): One hostel - Bedroom full of mosquitoes
Showered and bathrooms were disgusting
However,

- Urszula (7/5): Good - Good location Poor AC

- Emil (6/5): Pleasant -
- Csaba (7/5): Good - Private room for hostel price No window in the room, staff was lazy sometimes
- Foodhub (9/5): Superb -
- Blaire (2/5): Very poor - Extremely dirty
- Silvija (3/5): Poor - Close to the boat tours Smelled bad, fan doesn’t look like it’s been cleaned in 20+ years, old and mold everywhere
- Island (8/5): Very good -
- Mike (7/5): Good - You could walk to the beach in Coron Coron
- Amelie (1/5): Bad -
- Tomoko (10/5): El Nido One Hostel Best Hostel - Cold AC, cold overhead showers after a hot day, cold water dispenser, cold Red Horse beer, very friendly staff cleaning constantly, and a 24-hour diner with great chefs! Kuya Vince cooked me tofu sisig even though it wasn't on the menu because I'm plant-based. Also, it's away from downtown, so it's more peaceful, and it's only a 15-minute walk there. Across from a beautiful beach with trees for shade and cute swings you can play on! El Nido One Hostel felt like home away from home. Would definitely rebook when I come back! Rude guests not taking their shoes off inside. Bro there's a sign, can you read? Also you ain't supposed to flush toilet paper in the Philippines, plumbing ain't built like the West, so throw your TP in the basura!!
- Taiza (5/5): Passable -
- Lauren (5/5): Passable - Location was good, staff were friendly and helpful! Air con in room didn’t really work, bathrooms were in tidy and bad water pressure!
- Mark (6/5): Pleasant - Friendly and helpful staff, free water and WiFi, air-conditioned windowless dorm, well located. Low water pressure, but that's pretty much the norm in budget accommodation
- Frankquintino (9/5): Superb - Location and good air conditional in the room for sleeping good The phone signal is not working well in these areas
- Agostina (7/5): They have late check out, the aircon worked well and its clean -
- Magdalena (8/5): A nice short stay - The dorm is not very big, but nice and cool. The beds have curtains which give the guests a bit of privacy.
Additionally, the food was delicious.
The owner of the hostel is a very nice woman. When I checked out she arranged that the van going to Sibaltan comes to the Hostel to pick me up. The toilet & showers were not very clean.
The wifi did not work in the bedroom. It only worked in certain parts of the house and even there not very well.
- Said (1/5): Bad -
- Victor (9/5): Superb -
- Peter (8/5): Comfy and cheap in a pretty good location for the budget traveler in el Nido - Nice and clean, good location, just outside of town but not too far to walk (about 20mins) and food at restaurant was reasonably priced. Dorm had decent aircon which is always a bonus. Cold showers not the end of the world but would be nice to have a hot shower option
- Merlyn (2/5): - I got to el nido at 11pm and if it was early only after a long drive i would have been looking for another place to stay any way, after one night i left and get a better place to finish my vacation. This place is terrible.
- Eliassen (5/5): Passable - Close to the bus terminal and good water pressure All the bathrooms were really dirty, super small rooms and took ages before the AC was working
- Lukas (5/5): Passable -
- Charis (2/5): Pay the extra money for aircon room elsewhere - Cheap price for air con room, initial layout of hostel is practical and functional - coffee/breakfast available in cafe at front, rooms have desk/chair/hooks so has potential Disappointing as this could be a good hostel - we’re budget backpackers so don’t have massively high standards anyway - the staff were rude and uninterested, signage in hostel no longer stands (laundry service offered on poster but this isn’t current), the showers were constantly filthy with sand/hair/small flies, the room was cramped, made worse by finding cockroaches in the bed with us at night, it was a difficult night sleep here. Also note: don’t go to the laundromat they recommend around the corner (we clean) - they will stain & ruin all your clothes. Avoid!!!!!
- Andres (9/5): Superb - Basic hostel. Enough for rest at night. Not enough toilet.
- Bethany (1/5): Avoid staying here - Unlimited supply of toilet roll & free filtered water You would have more room sleeping in a prison cell. The room had a horrible smell coming from the extractor fan & the room was covered with bugs, both myself & my partner was bitten a lot!
Definitely would not recommend staying here.
Cold showers with rubbish water pressure.
- Shem (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jaywhite (10/5): Good cheap - The owner is very nice and extremely helpful The noisy French guy who kept snorting up his snot every 5 minutes 🙄
- Tim (5/5): Passable - The location is good for the bus terminal and there is free water. Our room smelled really badly and there were cockroaches. The sanitaries were not really working and were really old.
- Nicol (5/5): Passable - Close proximity to bus terminal if you heading to Port Barton or Puerto Princesa. Beds are pretty noisy, bathroom is not very clean. Even though female dormitory was chosen, there were boys in the room.
- Rika (5/5): Passable -
- Danielle (6/5): You get what you paid. Hope they can clean and improved the smell. Location is near to the beach and convenience store. - Location near to the port for the tours. The staff is very friendly. They have a store 24/7 to buy food and water. The towels smell really bad. The bed too. The shower and cr are not clean.
- Simona (5/5): Passable -
- Juan (6/5): Pleasant -
- Ward (1/5): Bad - Nothing Everything! Disgusting
- Esmée (7/5): Good - Value for money. The breakfast the restaurant at the hostel offers is good. There is a lot of humidity in the building. It would be better if there was a window/ventilation near the bathrooms.
- Shaun (6/5): Pleasant -
- Bernadette (7/5): Good - It was affordable and we had a really tasty dinner. Staff were helpful. Only a 20mimute walk from the town. We got what we paid for. It could have been cleaner. No natural light in the room.
- Delia (10/5): Nice little hostel - The staff here truly stands out for their exceptional service and genuine helpfulness. With the reception operating round the clock, assistance is always at your fingertips. The reliable Wi-Fi ensures seamless connectivity, catering to both work and leisure needs.
A highlight is the cozy café, offering a delightful blend of local and Western breakfast options. It's the perfect spot to savor diverse flavors to start your day. Additionally, the on-site grocery store provides a well-curated selection of beverages, ensuring you have everything you need at your convenience.
The strategic location is another plus, with tricycles readily available just outside. This adds an extra layer of convenience, making it easy to explore and navigate the surroundings. In summary, the combination of attentive staff, 24/7 reception, quality amenities, and a convenient location makes this a standout choice for a comfortable stay.
- Oliver (3/5): Poor - Small damp room. Not the best experience but ok for a quick stop if you aren't too worried about nice facilities
- Georgina (5/5): Passable -
- Roel (6/5): Pleasant -
- Liliana (3/5): Ok - They have a place to drink a beer I wish that they can have a place to dry your clothes, place has only the necessary for stay.
- Chris (10/5): Exceptional - excellent costumer service the place is quiet and peacefull
- Sabrina (6/5): Pleasant - well, the wifi is not working. The surrounding area is very noisy.
the pressure in the shower is reaaaaally bad.
it is a hostel, but for the same money we stayed in a better place
- Emily (3/5): one hostel - one star - -good location not too far to walk to town with a beach and large selection of restaurants
-free water
-towels included (family room) -room had signs of damp when we arrived (mould on walls, peeling paint) but the room did not feel damp at first. When we left our AC on all day while we were out, we returned to find it had dripped excessively and water had soaked through our pillows, bedsheet, and mattress.
-Given new pillows and sheets but had to flip the mattress and no longer leave our AC on meaning the room was very hot.
-the shower in our room was weak, only a few streams of water still working. The shared showers had even worse pressure.
-towels smelled of body odour or cigarette smoke
-we were staying 4 nights. After 2nd night we asked two members of staff if they could clean our room while we were out and gave them the key. When we returned it had not been cleaned. I asked why, and they said ‘we thought you were checking out.’ They could have confirmed this was wrong in their records. The room was not cleaned in the whole 4 nights.
-dirty water would seep up between the floor tiles constantly and we would have to keep wiping it away
-small window that always sounded like it was open in the room meant you could hear cockerels extremely loud outside from 4am onwards
-all our things smell like damp and a large cockroach was in our room as we went to check out
-lots of ants in the bathroom and on the bedroom floor
- Anne (9/5): Nice stay - Great location and very helpful staff. It was great for the price you pay, right across corong beach and only 10 minutes walk to el nido beach One of the toilettes did not flush right, and showers are cold
- Lucas (6/5): Pleasant - Friendly and helpful staff. Close to the pier from where tours depart. Not that comfortable. Everything was humid and smelling like mold. The room doesn't have windows. Consider if you're on a budget but if you can spend a bit more reconsider
- Gosia (3/5): it’s a no. I do know it’s a low budget accommodation but it should be at least clean. also, don’t advertise an AC room i - other guests not clean, common bathroom often dirty, noisiest AC I’ve experienced in Asia, stinky towels, super loud street
- Maike (7/5): Good - It’s alright if you are on a low budget.
You can rent a scooter.
Free water refill.
Hot water and refrigerator.
You can book the island tours with them.
Friendly staff.
Small common area to sit outside. Moldy smell in the room and it seemed like they just painted over the mold in the walls.
Location outside the city centre, it’s around 15-20min walk to the city.
Only one clothing rack to hang up your clothes.
- Daniela (6/5): Pleasant -
- Caine (3/5): Poor -
- Mickael (6/5): cheap hostel in el nido - Cheap for el nido
AC in the dorm
clean very low water pression in the shower
some showers with just drops
very humid dorm
staff can be more friendly
15min walking distance to el nido town
- Cody (2/5): Wouldn't recommend if other places are available - Very dingy rooms
Showers not great
Very small beds
20 min walk away from main area
- Ladislav (3/5): book just in case of emergency - the bed was OK no water, dirty
- Ruby (7/5): Good -
- Driat (10/5): Exceptional -
- Francisca (3/5): Poor - The staff was nice Unfortunately when we stayed the room wasn't clean properly and there was this really bad smell in the place during the day. It's okay if you're trying to save some money but wouldn't really go back to this place
- Laurent1971 (6/5): Hotel acceptable for this cost - Price very low Bed bathroom not goid condition
- Marian (10/5): Exceptional -
- Mary (7/5): Good -
- Raphael (8/5): Very good -
- Abel (10/5): - I liked very much specially the owner was very helpful
- Wichelle (10/5): Great Place - Host are very accomodating, place are clean and peaceful. Nothing.
- Pedro (10/5): Exceptional -
- Wojciech (1/5): Bad experience, take only if short on money - Cheaper than the other places and good sport for walk to the beaches It was dirty, had cockroaches in corridors. No hot water in the shower. Loud and weak AC. Weak WiFi
- Carlos (8/5): Very good -
- Verified traveler (6/5): - we didn’t have a great start with this hostel. They were supposed to organize a ride from port Barton for us and we were never picked up. They say it’s $600 but you have to pay for other taxis to the bus station. There was no apology when we finally arrived. Our room had tiny ants everywhere and every where in the washroom. The power doesn’t work for the majority of the day and they could do something more to help this like light candles or something.
