Guest Reviews
- Hashim (8/5): - Clean room
- Sherryl (10/5): - Parking right outside room. Clean and quiet room. Some shops in area. Staff professional.
- Jame (10/5): - Parking is easy and safe, just outside the door, very convenient.
Fast friendly efficient checkin lady.
There's an IGA grocery store down the street and a few fast food places close by, walkable.
- Richard (8/5): - This is an older motel that is located very close to the hwy which was convenient. The rooms were clean and spacious. The beds were very comfortable. The staff was very friendly. It was lacking in amenities but I would definitely stay here again.
- Benny (10/5): - Clean and tidy room.
- June (10/5): - Great room, very clean, ideal location, staff friendly and very helpful. Would recommend.
- melinda (2/5): - I was certain I canceled this booking. I wrote
- Al (4/5): - Nothing special
- Rob (8/5): - Passed through for business, was a place to stay for a night, beds and everything were clean but there were some cobwebs hanging from the ceiling. Limited places to eat around here on a Sunday evening.
- Valerie (6/5): - The sink area has whiskers, soap scum and coffee down the sink sides. Didnt smell great!
- Guy (8/5): - Beds were comfy, renovated floors in bathroom. Nice newer shower.
- Doug (8/5): - Reasonable, clean, close to several food options and helpful staff.
- Michael (10/5): - Great Stay.
- Karina (6/5): - It was nice stay. Water is not warm enough.
The coffee machine was not clean.
- Carol (6/5): - It’s an older motel that could have been made to be very quaint …there were old fashioned window boxes but no flowers. It just looked tired. The room itself was a nice size, the beds were comfortable with nice clean linens…but there was very little soundproofing. We knew our neighbour had a good sleep because we listened to him snore throughout the night and then sing in the shower! lol
- erwin (4/5): - Bathroom had no shower curtain. wow! AC did not work. Microwave sounded like an alarm every time. Old property, needs updating
- Rahlyn (8/5): - Close to the road yet quiet, surrounded by gorgeous mountains! Bed was comfy, dated but spacious.easy check-in,close to amenities, will stay again!
- Jo-Anne (10/5): - A great place in the middle of the mountains. Staff was very friendly and accommodating
- Phil (8/5): - Location
- Charles (10/5): Great stay! - We had an excellent overnight stay - the staff were friendly and helpful, and our room was very clean and comfortable. We’d stay again when passing through the area.
- Nigel (6/5): - Seems like time has passed this place by. Very small towels, small bars of soap, dated fixtures, uncomfortable bed.
- Rita (8/5): - I didn’t like that no one was on the premises for checking in or any other information. Also no ice available. The room was very big and clean. And quiet.
- Beverly (4/5): - A/C was loud and some control buttons missing, others not working. Train noise all night with the window being opened. Felt overpriced for age of the motel.
Clean bedding; room was clean as can be expected for age of the place. Check in staff friendly.
- Verna (6/5): - Quiet at night.
- Travel (6/5): - Overapp our short stay was good but we en ounter 1 iaaue
- Leslie (10/5): - Other than a older hotel, everything was clean.
- LIJUN (8/5): - Good
- Robert (10/5): - Staff is excellent! Very friendly and helpful.
- Brenda (10/5): - Exactly what i was looking for!
- Johnathan (8/5): - Comfortable beds, good sized room. We slept well, however there was a smell of smoke when we entered despite it being a non-smoking room. The door was hard to open and close and the bathroom fan wasn't working. Overall, we were happy with our stay, but the property could use some updates.
- Kelly (10/5): Friendly and clean - Front office was very friendly and a pleasure to deal with. Room was clean and bed was extremelycomfortable, bathroom looked to be new renovated.
- jillian (10/5): - We were a family group of 3 adults needing one night stays, to & from our destination. Yellowhead Motel was perfect for us. The room was spacious & quiet, with everything we needed for comfort. We plan to stay there again
- Gino (6/5): - Lots of noise through the walls. Place smelt of either mold or mildew.
- Mark (10/5): - All good
- Darlene (8/5): - The property is worn, but the room was clean. It was quieter than I expected it would be, which was nice. With so few options, this presented the best value for an overnight stay.
- Melville (10/5): - Clean, friendly
- rajesh (8/5): - Nice area and rooms with all comforts like own kitchen, dining and laundry options
- Kristen (10/5): - We had a great experience at the Yellowhead Motel while passing through Valemount for one night! It was super clean and very comfortable. No frills but this was actually one of the cleanest accommodations we have ever stayed at.
- ingrid (8/5): - It was nice and quiet
- Ratheesh (8/5): - Decent motel for a weekend stay. Was located close to gas stations and restaurants. If you are looking for a place to stay a night at Valemount it is recommended.
- Lesya (10/5): - Thanks manager, very nice customer service!
- Amanda (4/5): - Beds very uncomfortable and rooms outdated
- Robert (6/5): - We liked the simplicity of the furniture and design! Such a nice clean room! Nothing fancy! Just a plain clean room! Very small tub! Shower worked good though!
Would be nice if the fridge had a freezer. Was very warm until we figured out the ac/kinda noisy
- Connor (10/5): - Great trip! Perfect for a night stay after a long drive
- Sachinandan (8/5): - Very convenient for a night stay for visitors to Mount Robson and other attractions nearby
- Andrea (4/5): - This property has really become run down since we stayed there last. The whole room was run down, I found hairs in my bed sheets, and (not at the fault of the hotel) we had very noisy neighbours smoking pot directly outside our window at 5am. Also, NO security. The door was just an automatic lock when it was shut, and there was no other way to secure the door. (deadbolt, ect). Felt very insecure.
- Alan Martin (6/5): - The property was clean and the beds were comfortable. The window screens were broken. It was very spacious
- jerry (10/5): - Clean and comfortable.
- Douglas (6/5): - very average property. a bit run down. needs a refresh
- Timothy (4/5): - This motel is very old and has not been renovated at all as far as I could tell. The climate control in the room didn’t allow me to control the temperature. Carpets looked like they hadn’t been replaced in decades, if ever. Bath towels were not adult size. And the hotel was extremely expensive for what they provided. I can’t believe they charge what they do for a very worn out motel. We stayed in several other hotels on that same trip and paid
40% less for far better hotel rooms that also included breakfast. Everything in Valemount is extremely overpriced. You’re better off staying in another town.
- Melissa (4/5): - The property was old and shabby. The room smelled bad and of old cigarette smoke. There were hairs on the pillows and sheets. Gaps under the door let in bugs, like spiders and flies.
- Marsha (8/5): - Gentleman at front desk was very friendly & accommodating with some needs of ours, room was very clean. Had a new bed & furniture, hair dryer, ironing board, fridge, coffeemaker.. but room was basic. Could use upgrading in room & outside appearance, also air conditioner needs to be replaced. Reasonable price compared to other hotels in the area. Walkable to dining options. If you want a clean basic hotel room for a one night stay this is a good option.
- Karen (6/5): - No one was at the desk when we arrived. Had to call the Motel. It’s an old property, but location and cleanliness was good. The Pub next door was great for a bite to eat when we arrived in town.
- Natasha (6/5): - This is a basic budget motel. Our room was fairly big and had everything that we needed. Which was good. Check-in was easy. A lot of the lights did not work. The bathroom was a bit dirty and smelled like a dirty old wet towel, which was gross.
- Trudy (2/5): - This is literally the worst hotel I've ever had the displeasure to stay in.
It smells of mould and urine, not unlike an old persons care home.
Dreadful decor and furnishings.
Curtain pole fell down every time I tried to close the curtains
Black hair over the bathroom floor on arrival ( we're blond )
Stains on the two chairs.
Paper thin walls that you could hear next door coughing.
Zero amenities, even the vending machine was out of order.
Tiny thin bath towels.
The only toiletries was a single round of soap that was unwrapped on arrival.
One portion of coffee for a family room.
4 pillows for 4 people.
And it's not like it was super cheap.
I really wish I'd asked for a refund and stayed somewhere else.
The only two positive things I can say is that the bed was comfortable and the shower was powerful and plenty of hot water.
Do not book this hotel.
I can only assume that the good reviews are false.
- Sharron (8/5): - It is an older motel, spotlessly clean. Beds were comfortable but room is very sparse, geared to winter snowmobilers. Good value for the price. Would likely stay again. Air conditioner was very very noisy.
- Roberta (6/5): - Fridge was actually a freezer, froze our fruits and veggies! Wifi was not good.
- Joan (10/5): - Clean and quiet and excellent service
- Sean (8/5): - Our screen door didn't close and the hotel could use some updates. I think it's a nice enough place to stay, but the rates were pretty high for something this dated at $240/night. Mind you, this was early July so maybe we were seeing "seasonably adjusted" rates.
- Mario (6/5): - The rooms were clean clean not a 5 star but you get what you pay for ..it was comfortable
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Our stay was great. The location of this motel was super
- VancouverLil (8/5): Great Place to Stay - This is a great little motel in Valemount. Our room was great. Very comfortable and nice and clean. This is an old fashioned motel and so it is spacious. Management is very accommodating and we really liked the lighthearted staff member who cleans the room. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and this will be our accommodation every time we pass through on our way to or from the Rocky mountains.
- Wenda (10/5): - So clean and quiet.
- Allan (8/5): - Nothing fancy. Clean & tidy.
- Reza (2/5): - Dirty bedsheets
- GARY (6/5): - No review
- yvonne (10/5): - Room was spacious and clean.
- Tim (8/5): - Room was large compared to others. Bed comfortable. Desk clerk helpful.
- Gerald (10/5): - Good
- lynda (4/5): - It is very old and could use a real good update. The price for the quality is very sad. Was not cheap and is very old. Could have stayed somewhere much nicer for very little more.
- Patty (10/5): - Great spot to stay! Clean, comfortable and spacious too. Absolutely would recommend!
- Tim (10/5): - Great staff, i enjoyed staying overnight.
- Jessica (6/5): - This property is very run down. The room smelled mildewy and smoky and the room was not cleaned. Luckily the owner was able to move us to another motel across the highway - the Rocky Inn - which was much nicer. I would not recommend staying at the Yellowhead Motel but the Rocky Inn was good.
- Neel (10/5): - Nice staff.
- James (10/5): - Fantastic location easy to walk around and easy for shopping.
- Diane (8/5): - Moose Pub food next door was good.
- Julie (10/5): - Great stay, friendly and helpful staff.
- Timothy (10/5): - Check-in was easy and quick. Staff was very accommodating, friendly and helpful. An older building and dated style, but clean, quiet, well apportioned and comfortable. Overall, good value for the room rate.
- Dale (8/5): - all good
- Sharon (8/5): - Good for an overnight stay with my dog. Clean room. Friendly staff.
- Honesto (8/5): - Perfect for sleepover on long road trip. Price wise the best deal.
- Joyce (6/5): - Some disappointments. Entrance unit most difficult for we oldsters. Exterior door is begging for restaining. Suggest grab in shower area. But did appreciate tub mat. Comfortable beds. No electrical outlets on 3 walls adjacent to bed. Extensive walls would benefit from several large prints.
- Curtis and Coralyn (4/5): - As reviews state very dated. Room was clean but smelled very strong of something - either deodorizer or cleaner. No airconditioning and we couldn’t sleep from the heat.
- Liane (6/5): - Tv was very small. Too small for the room
Only a few Kleenex in Kleenex box
Only one tiny soap to use/share between the shower and the sink located out of the bathroom door
Only one coffee packet
- Sherry (6/5): - This hotel is very dated and could use some refreshing. I had a clean bed and quiet sleep for the night for a reasonable rate. Sometimes thats all you need for a weary road tripper.
- Randall (10/5): - Very easy check in. Clean establishment. Convint parking.
- Margaret (10/5): - Great, all around. Rooms are out dates, but everything is clean and comfortable.
- Piotr (8/5): - Clean, quiet, rather basic but comfortable
- Hilary (8/5): - Good price. Clean room. Friendly staff.
Exterior appearance a bit shabby. Misleading.
- Don (10/5): - Older property but clean.
- Robert (10/5): - .
- Thomas (10/5): - fast and friendly service, comfortable warm room on a cold night
- Josh (10/5): - Good clean and a place to rest. Will go back again
- Cheryl (10/5): - N/A
- Justin (10/5): - Clean price is right for travelling
- Jonathan (10/5): - We greatly appreciate the cleanliness and affordability of this place. It is well-located as a stop for our over-all holiday travels and conveniently near the highway, two gas stations, fast-food and restaurant options.
(If you are especially sensitive to noise, you can hear when other guests park or start their cars, and the occasional big truck in the road out front. Consider bringing ear plugs if you wish. However, it is not too busy when we’ve come through around winter holidays.)
- SHANITA (10/5): - Excellent staff. Nice room
- Richard (8/5): - Need instructions on how tv works
- Enid (8/5): - I was immediately welcomed into the motel and provided with a ground floor unit which I appreciated with parking outside my door. Although it was cold outside my room was comfortably warm and quiet.
- Heather (6/5): - We were just here for the one night as we travelled home. This hotel is old and the mattresses were not comfortable. The price was decent though.
